I think the Allie should have put this at the top of the thread; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9q70zCJYBc
A few suggestions from my end:
1. I don’t think static discharge is a good choice for this build unless they changed the way in which it fires. All the tool belt abilities will not directly target an opponent, so it may be difficult to actually hit them with the SD. They’re not really abilities you want to be using at every possible chance either, except maybe the mine field.
Since you’re using a kit, you might as well slot speedy kits in there for constant mobility. This is especially important with bomb kit since it’s completely ineffective if you’re not in the proper position. I haven’t tried that magnet bomb thing from kit refinement, but I don’t expect it’s that reliable. You could also easily change it to armor mods for extra defense, and adrenal implant would give you more dodges and ensures that your stamina stays full for +10% damage. Alternatively, you could take 5 out of tools and put 5 in explosives for steel packed powder, giving your bombs and mines vulnerability stacks for extra damage.
2. Also, I’d strongly consider using the med kit since the points in tools give you access to a 15 second bandage self. You’ll lose the option to blast in the water field, but these aren’t the most convenient utilities to do that with, and you’ll probably be focusing on using them for damage anyways. This also gives you access to the stimulant, which will provide you with a reliable source of fury for extra damage, especially on engagements. Inertial converter will also recharge bandage self as opposed to regenerating mist, the former of which could be much more valuable if you’re in danger of dying.
3. Self-regulating defenses might also be more valuable than protection injection for this build, but there’s tradeoffs for either choice.
Kit Refinement Magnet bomb is the best skill in the refined set-up and is probably one of the reasons why they won’t allow us to have separate CDs for all the kits.
Cool build. But my fear is that it can easily be kited.

Hey guys, it’s been a while since I posted a new Engineer build so to remedy that, here is my take on the most loathed skills of the Engie; Turrets.
It focuses on damage through a combination of CC from the turrets and the damage options of the rifle. Traits also play a large part in the build with regards to how much damage it can do so make sure you take a look at the video. Also make sure to not skip out on the tips and tricks section at the end which goes into a few cool things that could be done with the build.
Check out the build below;

We’ve got 1 more living story release after edge of the mists before the March patch drops guys. I guess playing angry little kids in a toy store is what we enjoy doing more than anything else.
Keep trying to pretend to be the know-it-all smart man whilst embarrasing yourself dude.
The big features patch (anything for pvp at all) is late spring/early summer. So that is like May/June probably. That is all sPvP players care about. Have fun for the next 5 months
Is that what’s been said? The PvP patch is coming in May?
Feature patch was (in interview with colin johanson) said to be late spring/early summer iirc.
Which means may/june to me. In addition, they are holding stuff back to get a big marketing push behind this feature patch to stop people going to wildstar and ESO. It is no coincidence they are going to put it all in together.
I remember them saying March would be the feature patch but we’ll see nonetheless.

Med Kit – condi removal
Healing Turret – condi removal
Elixer C – full condi removalI like the way the only defense here is “We DONT have condi removal” when in fact you do lol.
Even if you didn’t you still have all the other things I said, along with incredible burst healing (on full DPS builds too). Truth hurts. Excited for the nerf though
Too many roamers in WvW now days are engineers. You can’t throw a stone without hitting 2 of them cause they’re so incredibly FOTM right now for roaming and dueling.
Put a build together that has the same level of condi removal that the DD ele had (per minute), then we’ll talk.

Only recently did we at bloodytech held our SPvP GvG tournament and quite a few builds that we saw there aren’t used in normal SPvP.
Team NRK (and I think Trill) were using a Support Necro. An Elementalist was also used by NRK, Stream Team and 55HP Monks a class that people consider dead in the water in SPvP.For you to say there isn’t any build diversity within the SPvP GvG is for you to not be well informed.
Whats next? Bunker thieves and DPS rangers?… Best example of GvG tournament ever. Half clueless and half running “self-made builds” lol… get a grip
If a necro is using Lich Form says enough how much he knows about his class. So you sir, are the one NOT informed. Running NOT cookie-cutter builds doesnt make you better player, makes you look stupid. These builds are so called coz they give you the maximum you can get out of your class in the current meta….
So not running what everyone else runs makes you bad? You make great points sir, but let me show you a perspective that you might understand;
Question; Where does innovation come from? Sticking to old ideas or trying new things?
Another Question; All those builds that are “cookie cutter” did they not start out as unpopular?
Now, if you’re going to diss people’s decisions and trains of thought because they don’t align with yours, then you have no business having a discussion due to the fact that you’re only here to listen to yourself. And I can’t be bothered with your class of forum personality.
GvG in PvP is too basic. There is not enough strategy with the limited number of players on a team and equipment choices.
GvG in WvW is much more fun when you do a 15v15 or 20v20. It adds a whole different level of strategy.
I think you guys are talking without actually trying it out. GvG in SPvP is just a miniaturized version of the 20v20. The builds used in the Zerg format can work if tuned for smaller scale combat.

I don’t play necro, so excuse any ignorance, although I have watched and listened to necros quite a while. Back for dhuumfire patch, wasn’t the ONLY thing necros every asked for were:
1. An extra cover-condi for their bleeds (and got 2 that also do damage: burning AND torment)
2. More ways to survive when focused (at least a little bit)So, now that Anet is taking away passive-procs of burning, while also making necros (which are SUPER-TANKY given the condi-pressure they put out) trade some defense if they want to condi-burst, isn’t that a good thing. I understand the risk about reducing some of the bleed procs, but were bleeds ever reduced, even slightly, when torment was added?
I understand necro is in kind of a weird place. In some ways, they are WAY too tanky given the pressure they output. In other ways, however, they have no survivability and melt when focused (although less so than a zerk staff ele, who plays the same role).
Regardless, the nerfs that are happening, including vigor nerfs, are an excellent thing for the game in my view. Normalized most specs towards a balanced spec (i.e. burst has less burst and bunker has less survivability) is a great thing that helps remove cheese and introduce more skill into the game.
The main problem doesn’t rely on burning, but rather on fear-chains. I don’t get why A-Net wants to change dhummfire instead of terror. And to even out the damage-loss give it better mobility or some survivability-options.
Because Terror is more “in the hands of the player” than Burning. Terror only procs when you’re feared, dodge at the right time and Terror does not even affect you. Condi cleanse or stun break and Terror only ticks for a tiny fraction of it’s damage. Dhuumfire was a chance based proc that required little input from the player to activate.
What a stupid change. So necros have to blow their only line of defense just to take advantage of the trait?
Risk reward. That’s what it’s called.
A big change for necros that focuses on skill over random luck. I have sympathy for you man and imma let you finish but Dhuumfire rebalance ain’t as bad as you’re making it out to be.
Chains fears will now sync up with burning application meaning that if you can land your DS fear, you can land that first Life Blast hit which will cause burning and you can then continue chain fearing.
Why are we not talking about how the skill would be used more effectively rather than complaining about damage numbers?
And did we forget that DS fear is the hardest thing to dodge in this game?

war was in a good place
from the start
Not really mate.
I think some of the rules are overdoing it a bit.
“A player may not have more than one skill-activated source of potentially multiple blocks equipped at a time.”
What happens when a Guardian pops Aegis and then pops shield of Wrath? You might as well not have that class in there.
Aegis isn’t an instance of potentially multiple blocks. [Shield of Wrath] is, however.
What I’m pointing out is, you’re trying to control the way people play within a fight when you’ve already told them they can’t play certain builds
Trying to control the way someone plays inside the second by second fight can be very limiting because you may just be throwing the dice out on quite a few clutch plays that could possibly happen.

I do honestly wonder what feedback they base these types of changes on.
Sometimes good decisions are made without our input. It’s up to us to tell them when it’s a bad decision.
I’ve always used Rifle regardless of sigil quantity but now I can actually go Fire sigil and Battle whilst having a crit based build with just a bit of power. So good days all round.
I’m sorry i never played WoW but how long did a season last ? Flavor of the Month is not the same with different flavor every 6 months. Also i don’t really see what is the reason for pointing out bad balance in other games.
GW2 community has been more than helpful in pointing out what needs to be changed in order to improve the game balance but not once have the devs listened. Such a helpful and passionate community i have yet to see in any mmo, but it’s being ignored. There are so many good suggestions on the forums from smart players that understand the mechanics of the game that if even half of them would be implemented the pvp aspect would be improved by a lot.
PS: seeing a dev at min 11 talking about how an ele takes 2 one handed weapons instead of a two handed weapon because of the on swap effect, Elementalist…. the only class that can’t swap weapons…. Gz
They have listened, more so than others but hey, you’re going off of what you perceive so carry on I guess.
Fix: The next attack after using a toolbelt skill burns your target. cooldown: 10s
I guess we can go home now.

There’s quite a few builds that will come back if they change a few things with sigils but I don’t expect many new builds to sprout up just based them alone. The real thing that will determine the build diversity will be Runes.
If the changes to runes are very in-depth, I expect things to really be shaken up.

Hey guys! As some of you already know, there’s going to be a tournament on Friday and Saturday hosted by Bloodytech.net and the ESL. This tournament has very different rules to that of our normal capture points and is somewhat alien to many members of this playerbase.
Bearing this fact in mind, we all know a different format requires a different approach in tactics and to help with that, I’ve put together 3 builds that form 1 approach that can be taken within the tournament.
Click the link below to find out more about these 3 builds and how they function together and what they can do to really change the outcome of games if played well.
Check out more information about the upcoming tournament here; https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/events/ESL-BloodyTech-GvG-Tournament-17th-18th-Jan/first#post3464417

40 percent increase isn’t that much considering that nobody was/is playing xD
would like to know the true amount …
40% + 0 is still better than 0. Stop being a negative nancy.
I personally dislike it because most of the people who I end up with in solo que do not know how to rotate sensibly.
I think creating a gamemode without the downed state would be cool to see but, without healers (like many have pointed out) it would just be a fastest DPS race and would quickly change to a game of bunkers once again, like you claim the game is now (which I disagree that it is).
But hey, let’s see how it works out. If there’s anything I’d fight for or agree to be implemented though, it’s equal downed states for every one. Removing the fact that Eles, Mesmers and Thieves can’t be stomped on the first try.
Is berserker amulet not ‘super strong’ in certain setups? What about soldiers? Isn’t being good for specific trait setups better than being useless in general?
I think what he’s trying to say is, there’s no need for further homogenization when some classes can already do it with ease.
Giving Valks more health would just make certain classes that much stronger and all-rounded which is the kind of thing that creates “Healing Signet” threads.
Read Silven’s Guide in the stickied thread above.
Yea it’s either the nerf Bezerker stance or they nerf Stability uptime on warriors. Because it seriously sucks to not be able to do anything for 8seconds.
Nerf everything, leave nothing unerfed. I disagree.
I think Thief and Ele damage is fine. I agree that Warrior Signet can do with a reduction, indeed but they should also nerf the 100% invuln from condis that Bezerker stance provides.
Warriors wouldn’t be what they are but they would be sensibly balanced.

“Next outgoing attack misses; stacks duration.”
— In-game descriptionthis is not true. not only outgoing attack misses, i believe various utility skills misses as well.
No. Engineers, Necros will ruin your face if it stacked in duration and this thread would be named something totally different. Anet already tried duration stacking with GW1 and all they got was blind spam from Eles.

I’ll write myself a note to bring it up on Monday. Thanks!
Can you add Static Discharge to that note?
I always was curious if it is intended that toolbelts that do not require a target will make the lightning bolt just go straight forward with you camera angle (which pracitcally means the ground most of the time) and not towards the selected target.
Then again if this is going to be fixed you might want to remove “detonate turret” from the list that triggers discharge and it might need a nerf in general.
Also Flamethrowers Flame Blast should detonate when hitting surfaces and you promised us to do something with FT5 a long time ago.
Btw you are communicating so much more with us than any other dev. Love it!
Thing about SD is, you run the risk of making Toss Elixir S useless since it just flies of into a target when you toss it trying to stealth yourself.
I think they need to make the Toolbelt skill hit more than one target.

Wasn’t this nerfed because we could put down two of them with Kit Refinement? Now that Kit Refinement doesn’t do that anymore, shouldn’t it be taken back to it’s original state?
(edited by Dirame.8521)
Been getting these a lot too. Always assumed it was just me since my internet gets frazzy sometimes.
I thought the most recent condition is what gets removed?
but … i want my 3 seconds fears.
![]()
i think fear me is ok as it is now, later people complain about warrior having too many access to stability again? O_O
29 seconds of stability though… All I know is, if this were GW1, it would have been nerfed already.
Berserker Stance — Now reduces incoming condition duration by 100%, instead of granting complete immunity.
I have a few ideas for how Berserker stance could be changed;
Take no damage from conditions for 10s, they can still be applied to you.
OR
Become immune to poison, burn and bleeding for 10s.
General
Elementalist
Dragon’s Tooth — Now uses ground targeting.
I’m not sure if you guys know this but, DT started out as a Ground targeted skill. The skill is already quite slow to land, add ground targetting and the time to land could double. So no, let’s not go back to that.
cleansing ire needs also rework.
No it doesn’t. It’s the best trait Anet ever designed to give the Warrior some semblance of survivability against conditions. If anything I’d want them to create more traits like that.
