Happens I started playing arch age of late and it seems you can actualy get up to 120 deferent class combination and all of them can actualy be very usefull in a party.

I don’t get why anyone is surprised to find that the lfg doesn’t always give you nice people to team up with. Even if you’d make your own parties and have a clear description, people don’t read it half the time.

The solution to this is fairly simple. Find a nice guild.

If they cant make a group then finding a guild is like rocket science.

What exactly is “hard”? Im thinking you simply lack experience as you got the meta build in less than 24hrs. You wont find it easy that quickly. go get a bottle of Kraken and enjoy your Sunday.

also what kind of groups are you running with?

There was a period where I was teaching cm hardcore and was getting “griefed” so hard that I reported out of frustration. I didnt keep an eye on it because I fully expected to be penalised myself for reporting them+ didnt really expect anything to happen to them.

Ill be a bit sneaky and become friends with one that I report tonight and see what happens.

also my apologies overall for any overly insensitive remarks I get heated sometimes.

Nothing well of corruption/null field and a few ice bows cant handle.

I actually looked for a customer service link very briefly at Amazon and didn’t see one so thought I would follow up here first since I remembered seeing a thread on this issue. I bought the gem cards with Amazon gift cards, getting refunded the difference on a gift card purchase would seem to be problematic since I’m not using a credit card. I guess I would need to cover the difference with a credit card and get refunded the difference on that card by Amazon(?). I’m assuming you can use Amazon.com gift cards with third party sellers(?). Seems like a hassle either way. This is the only IRL money I’ve spent on gems in a few months other than a $10 purchase I made for someone else. So long as the gem cards are here before the holiday sales start I will be fine. Presumably at some point Amazon will cancel the order if they are not going to fill it . . .

They can give it back to you in gift card amount. Ive had it done before.

Fix problem?
1. Party join request. None of this instajoin nonsense.
2. Make “advertise your own party” 10x larger. maybe flashing with hearts and stars.
3. Make people who abuse the kick function have account penalties. (both the initiator and 2nder)
3.a. cant use lfg tool for x days> 1 day ban> 2 day ban > week ban > perma
4.Make people who abuse the lfg tool(i.e dont have requested gear/ level/ whatever) have account penalties

problem is 4 will never happen. too many people thrive on being carried/ignorant/ simply trolls.
3 rarely happens atleast in the case of sellers.

I typically get kicked when I have 1 hour to play and I want nice and smooth 15min/path run and I put " p1 experienced Lvl 70+ meta pref" and I get level 50’s who also dont know what to do. I get kicked when I am mean and elitist and ask " You dont meet any of the requested requirements for the group. Why did you join?"

Frankly in my eyes everyone against the party leader system is either a griefer, or a person who joins groups without meeting the requested requirements who enjoys the relative immunity they get from joining pug groups.

The people who want three votes instead are practically confirmed griefers.

By your words. on my lvl 70thief at the time. Random person joined my group. Changed the lfg to a different dungeon. 3 people joined ready to do that changed dungeon.

Leading the group through content isnt intrinsic to the group leader. I would say enforcement of the listed goals is.

also I rarely get kicked. I notice groups that I dont mesh with relatively early and leave.

See you think its personal. It is not “I” am special. It is " Group leader" is special. It is “WvW commander” is special. The “teacher” is special. The “team leader” is special. The “staff nurse” is special. The ‘squad leader’ is special.

Why? Those and many more are those that choose to do that little bit extra from the “common” folk.

There would be no group if those select people didnt spend that trivial 30s to put up a lfg. One can not kick from that which does not exist.

On thinking about it. As long as I contacted amazon they were more than willing to refund me the difference.

I think I know the answer the no-group leader people would say.

" You arent special. Anyone should be able to change what the group is doing. If you dont like it you should leave or join another group and change it to what you want it to be."

For some reason you seem to think I dont pug/ join groups either. I do. I always meet the reqs or whisper and ask if I could be the exception. (mainly cuz mesmer is sin not berserker) When I join a group. The group lead is God. He says jump I jump. He says stealth here I stealth there. He says do it x way I do it x way. If I disagree, think he is overstepping boundaries, bored, no coordination. I leave.

he is Playing How He Wants. he “organised” a group for that purpose. I joined the group on the assumption that our goals are aligned. If they are not. I leave. I dont do this.

If it is at the start of the dungeon I dont’ mind. But mid way through the dungeon, if the party leader are the clown, maybe it is he who should leave. He shouldnt’ be exempt just because he take 30 seconds to make a lfg ad.

I dont take 30 seconds to make an lfg ad. I take months of running x path with x professions to the point where I feel comfortable where I could lead a group to do a specific thing.

If one think there should be an time gated exception then one probably needs to lead more groups and see that “bums” dont display true colours when you want them too.

also this is sort of a mixture of the conversation going on in the dungeon subforums so I am grabbing things from that thread. mainly party lead + only party lead can kick.

I have no false impressions that all party leaders are like me. Ive been in many a crap runs. Ive led crap runs. 90% of my groups(led and made by me) have atleast 2 people who do not meet the requirements I listed in the lfg. You may be thinking Im some speedrun maniac. Nope Id say 60% of my runs are teaching runs. I cant do anything to ensure a relatively controlled teaching environment.

Well you see that is another thing. With the party leader idea it is relatively easy to see what is going on in a group especially for reports.

party lead kicks a lot at end of x content? easy for anet to see a pattern.

With the current 2 people kick pfft. gotta be hard to establish intent when any random person for any reason whatsoever can initiate and second a kick.

also with party lead you always know who kicked you.

currently who do you report? Do you report them all? Pick a random one?

Conclusion party lead is “easier” to enforce for a-net AND it lets the player know who not to group up with again. They would know exactly who is the “bum”

I see you are a supporter of matchmaking and not having personal servers. Guess all those mmo’s that had party leaders sucked balls.

Such warped views of what a party leader is. A party leader is some despot.

In most other games when I create a group it is to bring like minded individuals together. I become the game master. I ensure that all members of the party are comfortable. The party neither goes too fast, too slow, whatever. I ensure there is no verbal abuse, I ensure I know how to do the content and know how to advise the other people on it.

When I command as a Lt in arma I command about 40 guys. Their enjoyment is of the utmost importance. Any person who for most reasons destroys what these 40ish guys are enjoying is removed.

The party lead is a position of responsibility… I guess thats why so many people “can not” make groups. Its a thing of the past.

I wonder sometimes what crazy world some of you live in where I dunno you have an Asian Horror Only movie club and one person joins and hates Asian horror but wants to watch Russian comedy all the time and talks during the movies and its totally ok for the Asian Horror club to disband.

Cuz thats what I am reading. I dont want to be responsible for anything (non group making) and I refuse to submit to authority (kitten lfg reqs)

That LOS is as old as the beginning of MMO doesnt mean encounters were designed to be based on them. LOS makes thing easier, so if we want to have some form of challange we need to remove it. You cant deny the difficulty of an encontroled encounter ramps up way higher then a stacking kill and thats exactly the kind of challange the team should face in that kind of gauntlet event. Is LOS a valid tactics? Yes it is but the question you should ask yourself is would LOS be actualy a pertinant option to give to the players in a survival arena type dungeon, I think not. Its in the DEV best interest to make the encounters as challanging as possible and LOS doesnt make things challanging at all it makes it easy.

Rely more on build and team composition less on terrain gimmicks.
Everyone here been longuing for a hard challange, as such they need to avoid providing players the tool to dumb everything down to a dps race.

Exactly. No necro’s. Also stacking is not the problem. Tis merely a problem with the ai. Have mobs flee more than once., have them cast retal, etc etc

that way its less of simply LOS stacking them and more of
1.Mesmer – pull em into the corner > immob them
2. they are spreading out
3. War roll outwards with proper positioning and fear em back in/ knockdown the ones that are spreading out.
4.Guardian pull them to you with gs5

and all with proper timing whilst doing damage/ dodging/ cleaning conditions etc etc

heck se story the first golem had a great anti stack ability. Only problem is he dies too fast/ its not threatening enough.

Most people can not make their own groups? Thats news to me. ArenaNet really needs to fix that problem. It must be a bug of some sort. Have you bug reported it?

Upping the amount of people required to kick has one major flaw.
You just made it impossible to kick a troll/person who ignores lfg.

Currently 2 people are needed to destroy a party. New system 2 people are still all that are needed to destroy a party.

In my experience asking for specific skills or giving tips is akin to kitten their mother.
They will either refuse to talk to you, start bawwing, start bawwing, somehow kick you, rage against the machine,and/or fill mail with “love” letters.

it is rare I can say " hey can you equip x? it would help the team out a lot" and actually be able to say “thanks!”
