Wait sorry. To clarify. The PVP team. The player vs player team is in fact NOT in charge of game balance? As in major trait, boon, weapon dps changes? What the F? Does anyone else find that to be a big problem considering PVP is the game type where balance matters the most? I mean not to belittle PVE but it’s player versus environment. I don’t wanna say who cares but like, for a game trying with the “esports” scene, don’t you think PVP balance is kinda way more important?

Many of you may be confused and unsure what to do with the new changes made to thief, especially the one second cool down added to stealth skills. Luckily I found a really great old guide made by one of my favorite thieves of all time, Beyond B. It personally took me a while to understand and learn this new meta but once I got it I can honestly say I felt great. I hope you guys can see the light as well, and find this as helpful as I did.

Honestly, at this point what can you do? Arena net doesn’t want thieves to spam stealth skills, fine. We’ll just spam our auto attacks for now. Its not like unique class mechanics like “stealth skills” matter anyways right? Use we’ll land a back stab occasionally, but stealth will just be for stealth now. 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1.

I feel like the big issue is that new patches and updates don’t give players a larger number of new skins or weapons to collect. An mmo is all about customizing your character to be unique or something appealing to you, that sets you apart from other characters/players. With outfits, dye panels is as far as it goes in terms of being unique. On top of that more skins usually means a larger chance that players will decide to stick around just to obtain them. my 2 cents.

I hope they turn inspiration line into garbage. The last thing I want to see is boonshare mesmer in PvP. It’s already ruined WvW. The new amulets with boon duration scare me a bit. They gave another bounce to greatsword 2. Strong feeling that really wont fix anything.

For the OP: if I don’t want to fight, I just /sit and let them kill me. Usually gets the message across doing it just once. If you keep fighting back, they’re likely assuming you are enjoying it too. Next time don’t automatically assume someone’s trying to be a jerk. Talk to them. They may think you fight well.

I agree. I’ve been suspended 7 times, and the last two sure as heck didn’t make me feel better.

A /resign function would kill the whole “corpse jumping” and letting others “Bleed out” thing, and would require us to just result in whisper bming or mail bming. We need to solidify our alpha male status in WvW and let everyone see how big our kittens are. Get with the program buddy. Geeezaaas.

I guess if you wanna play a brain dead easy class you can pick up ele,engi or even druid then. Heck just try that condi chaos/insp/chrono mesmer build. But what’s the fun in that? I guess if you wanna have an easy time or are garbage player that would be your goto

I was in Ruby 1 for 68 games my friend. I know the struggle. Then I switched to my main class and won every game till diamond 5. Just believe my friend, anything is possible.

My advice for t1 roaming, like people have previously stated is thief due to the mobility alone. But as for roaming in general. Leave t1 asap. It was a miserable roaming experience a year ago and with the condition builds avaliable now, I bet it’s even worse.

The concept of wvw duels is fading and decent wvw duelist are a dying breed. CLEARLY (judging by most of the posts here) we’re really only left with scummy ppters literally garbage players. Now ask yourself, should you even be bothered? I suggest you go to 1v1 Pvp arenas for duels and never initate them in wvw.

In zerg fights, especially now, every class gets loaded with boons. Big ones like protection and stability make mesmer shatter dps literally useless. Mesmer shatter damage is honestly one of the worst bursts in game (IMO) due to the large sacrifice given to full berserker gear and literally no reward. Even our boon removal is useless, thus we’re preferred playing support roles like boonshare. I know it sucks, and I’m constantly reminded when I bring my mesmer to WvW. I switched main classes to thief for real burst damage because I refuse to play cheese traits. (This is a personal choice which I am NOT imposing on anyone and neither do I hold anything against those who wish to use them)

Giving the same dollar value for more gems would be quite a terrible idea due to gold exchange. Cheaper gemstore items however I do agree with. I find myself often dropping 15 CAD on an armor set where I only want 2/6 of the parts. It would be nice if we could buy single skins off sets as well but obviously it’s a long shot.

Literally 1 win away from legend and this happens. The ranger afks at base literally 2 minutes into the game.

Wow the negative vibes are strong. As for dabs being drugs, I have no idea what drugs are and don’t think we should crawl into that dark space.

You can never be too told to dab, and yes it has been “noted to resemble sneezing”.

I would really love a /dab emote. It would be straight up, hands down, THEE most epic emote of all time.

Just think about it.

When you kill someone in WvW, you no longer have to be the guy who uses /laugh or /sit (ya’ll know who you are). You can just dab.

When you win a PvP game, you celebrate with a nice dab.

You manage to win a 2v1, you DOUBLE dab.

If you kill a raid boss for the first time or 50th time, you get your boys, and just group dab.

You make your first legendary weapon, celebrate by telling map chat and then…DAB.

You finish map completion, but you’re tired so you slow dab.

The possibilities are endless and this ONE emote will replace literally all the other ones.

Being 100% serious, we need a /dab

Lets not forget the boob-plates. Why boob plates? Generic heavy armor. Medium armor looks KINDA like light armor, thats new. This is not looking good for the legendaries BUT then again, only now does dusk look closely to twilight, and spark doesn’t even look as good as incinerator.

There is still hope. Anet could pull a uber clutch, give us armor that doesn’t look like the generic “Light armor = frilly dresses, Medi armor = trench coats, Heavy armor = plated mini skirts”.
We may even get armor with super cool textures, and animated pieces. Armor which reacts to the environment, day and night cycles, combat and out of combat. Armor which changes skill animations or skill color schemes.
(Just idea’s always prepare for disappointment so when you do receive a bit above the minimal, its still more satisfying than nothing)

There is some precursor (i hope precursor) skins in the wardrobe. Type “experimental envoy” to check em out. They look like absolute garbage in my opinion, but hey, even if they looked decent, I don’t raid so I wouldn’t be bothered anyways.

I feel like buffing classes and traits is the wrong way to go about things. We already have issues with power creep, and 25 might self stacking classes are already a pain in the rear. It’s better to just nerf the living hell out of some (cough-condi-cough) play styles so that its not “one is better than the other”, but rather “one fits a situation better than another”.

To be fair that goes with just about everything.

Well, because im not a garbage player, and I don’t need meta builds to carry me to legend, just like last season I will be running a marauder power shatter build. Maybe i’ll even use base mesmer over chrono if I feel like it, because I can.

Signet of Domination is useless but you have massive phantasm spam from Chrono and Mental Defense to save you when things get hard. This is a super easy build to play and you’ll win games with it like no tomorrow (If you’re a half decent or even mediocre player). Enjoy a easy breezy free time.

Geez, Anet stop nerfing Mesmer’s! Mesmer’s are already WAY too hard to play! If it got any harder I may ACTUALLY have to use my brain to play this minimalistically challenging game. Give us MORE buffs, actually give ALL the classes buffs but give us EVEN more, because power creep isn’t a problem, fast mindless hand holding gameplay is really what we like, and is a great push towards ESPORTS!

TLDR; Thinking, and getting good at a class is too hard, and we need more hand holding. Put us in a ridiculous “power creep face rolly” meta rather than a think of a well though out way to fix the overall state of player vs player combat in the game.

I think i’ll consider picking up thief. I’ve never liked engi, and the recent meta has made me hate it even more than normal. I wonder if base thief DA/Acro/Trickery S/D is any good still.

I’ve been playing my Mesmer in WvW for over 3k hours and the there is no longer any payoff for running an illusions base Mesmer and I am looking for something new.

What is a hard base (no HoT) class to play which still floats well around the idea of “risk reward”?

What you actually mean is, when you played mesmer it was the definition of garbage. Now it’s actually competitive, but since people always complain about mesmer it’s now “OMG SO OP”.

No, I think what he means is, a few years back you had to think a bit when it came to playing against different builds on different classes. Now due to power creep, everything is a quick speed up of button mashing, and killing the other guy before he murders you.

Gameplay in general is a bit too forgiving now and pays off more to those players with less experience. Traits which over accommodate for players (such as the ones that prock at 25% HP and provide immunity), support less thinking and diminish the use of reaction time.

The pay off for players who are able to successfully play berserker builds or “high risk” builds simply isn’t incentivized anymore.

Depends on how much you paid for them and how long you’re willing to wait.

Assuming that there is actually a finite supply of these skins being dumped (aka there isn’t a dupe/exploit), the dumps will stop eventually and the price will go back up. It will have a much lower ceiling than previously though, which is dependant on how rare the new masterwork items are from the forge. Don’t expect them to ever get back above 1k.

Then again, I thought the dumps had stopped a month ago..

I’d assume with the daily gold inflations prices for most items will get jacked up, so i’ll get more than 300g back out of both skins, BUT I mean with Anet pumping more money into the game, its just gonna inflate the prices of just about everything in the free market, so i’ll be getting the same “low value” out of it at the end.

I personally find Rangers to be the biggest pain in the rear end. Engi’s as well because they’re just so darn tanky. Condi mesmers are easily ignorable. The rest really aren’t that spot light worthy IMO.

On a personal note, I’ve noticed that playing high risk builds are no longer rewarding. Being a player who can play a high risk build does not benefit you in any shape or form when put up against another tanky/easy to play build, and average player.

Also, watching fights from a few years ago, versus now. Back then fights lasted a bit longer with glassy builds and there was more though put towards cooldowns and skills in combat situations. Now it feels a lot more like “mash the keys to melt”. Less thinking more mashing.

But thats just me.

@Ross Biddle.2367 lol, thanks for the honest opinion. In my eyes I dislike 90% of the light armor skins on norn anyways. I can see the frilly skirts and super skimpy tops working for humans, but on norns you’d probably want something more kitten.

If someone were to hypothetically leave an autoclicker on for a server transfer lets say, over night, they might have a chance of getting in, right? Hypothetically speaking ofcouse.

So the long duration of might upkeep on mesmer doesn’t look as promising as I thought. Maybe for a short while for a few bursts but after that it’ll probably just be an up keep of 3-5 stacks.

I wanted to know which trait line benefits more from Strength Runes. This means might up keep. In illusions we have a trait which gives us 1 might stack per shatter, and in chaos we’re given a trait with gives us 5 might stacks per interrupt.

I would like to know if they are an overall good investment for mesmers, especially with the upcoming chronomancer trait line.
