Pretty much Zara. Fall back, build a treb or 2 in SM. In siege alone we broke over 2 gold worth while they just kept pounding face into the door. Now if they needed the PPT I could see it, but they capped it after almost an hours time. Whoever was leading, you are funny!

To the people leading the BP group at QL, thank you for showing AR players an excellent example of bad leadership and how not to take a tower.

@anthsss The only server that has publicly stated it’s comfortable coming in second place is NSP.

OK … NEWSFLASH … Anvil Rock does NOT have a high WvW population, it has always made due with what it has. ALS does run large groups, and that is what that guild does, it is an integral part of AR’s overall WvW. I think that there are just times when taking a break from WvW can be a healthy thing to do, so more power to them for taking it easy a week.

I am tired of hearing about NSP having the lowest population, sorry, you don’t. Are you outmanned on some maps? Sure, so is AR, we just don’t constantly cry about it. Do you have the same population you had at launch, nope, but that hardly makes you the least populated WvW server.

There are a handful of decent sized guilds that WvW regularly, and a small handful. If Anvil makes you feel like you have less people, then we must be doing something right. I have only NOT had the outmanned buff on one map this entire round, which makes for excellent loot drops, and I missed it.

But stop kidding yourselves Shiverpeaks, you have a nearly identical population in WvW that AR does, and neither of us have near the WvW pop that BP does consistently. Sorry, just get really tired of the forum QQ from one of the servers in this match up, it’s a sad excuse and it’s getting old and tired.

I can see a lot of people saying that this guy is hacking etc. That the video is sped up, and that this guy is just making up an elaborate story. I’ll admit I thought all of those things. What bothers me is the video isn’t sped up, look at the video length, at the map clock, and you’ll see time is passing at a normal rate. So maybe this person actually is having issues. Let Anet sort it out.

@Borlis Pass, excellent defense on SM. I was poking around for holes, and didn’t find any as of yet. Very nicely done.

I personally never laugh at any opponent, regardless of how good or bad they may be. Regardless of things posted on forums, I remain respectful on the battlefield. I guess it is just a matter of character. To the players I have fought recently, I apologize for not being at the top of my game. Been distracted by my new hammer warr and the real world. I will be back in form, just haven’t played as much as usual.

@THE Dentist don’t feel too bad. I’ve built trebs outside camp aggro range and have had new players aggro them to the treb. Maybe they think the treb is somehow going to save them, I mean heck, it breaks walls! And yes the grub is a huge waste of time and manpower.

Yeah, I don’t disagree. Just really sad seeing them calling out the grub, then SM, then grub. This happens every few minutes. Actually, hey BP and NSP, there is a group of AR players that hits the grub and the east side of SM every few minutes from around 4 pm est. Do with this info what you will, but I bet there are free badges in there somewhere.

AR seems to have a new development in EBgrounds. A small group of players constantly doing whatever they can to redirect, confuse, and distract players in /t chat. If these players belong to either of the other servers it would hardly surprise me. They have made it difficult to command, completely clog up the chat window and are an overall nuisance to the server. If these guys do belong to BP or NSP, well played, it’s making it nearly impossible and unplayable in EB when you have a decent sized group misdirecting, confusing new players and trolling commanders to the point they do not even want to command on that map.

@Varconi You’ll have fun with the ranger if you are looking for challenge. Not an easy class to play, but they are fun.
And on a side note ALS does have some really good players, I have seen them, for really real!

Honestly the larger the guild and the more presence in WvW you could say that about any of the large guilds. Dkz, Os, GOAT etc all have their fair share of either under leveled or under skilled players. Given the time to learn the class, and many many losses though, who is to say that some of these players can’t improve. Lemme guess Varconi, did someone get steamrolled by ALS? Just put a bandaid on it and it will eventually heal over time, the emotional scars will probably last a good deal longer. Lemme guess, you play either a thief or mesmer primarily …

Funny reading these posts. First time I saw mass abuse of golem in a box was by multiple players in a BP zerg and the first time I saw rampant use of environmental weapons were 2 NSP thieves. Do people on AR use this no skill garbage tactic, I’m sure they do, but seeing complaints from servers that are doing the exact same trash, well that just puts a smile on my face. Fact is, if you are a player and you require mechanics outside the class you play to win, you are bad at the game and most likely should look into the wide array of console games available to you. No shame in playing a single player game on easy.

Good predictions so far.

PS I generally run solo as a ranger, so not all of AR zergs about. NSP can produce numbers, just not consistently, and there are very skilled and very unskilled players on all 3 servers. Once people understand that, the threads may not be locked so often.

Pretty much expect this round to go like the others. NSP and BP will come tearing through ARBL while smaller forces from BP will secure parts of NSP BL putting NSP at a deficit by day 2 after AR resecures it’s BL and NSP focuses on EB while ignoring BPBL almost entirely. Then a 5 day shoot out between BP and AR. Anyone want to add a prediction?

@Kalkz Blood or wood splinters and mortar? They have distinctly different flavors. A picture of you standing over the downed bodies of your enemy would be impressive, an abandoned map painted green, not sure why you’d be proud of that.

@Anvil lol, I still know how to lead our randoms, I just choose not to. Maybe I’ll do it more often. But you know me man, I do whatever.

@Walabone We were extremely stretched out when I put my tag up, but you guys did have us moving. Hardest part is making it seem like we had more than we actually did. Love AR randoms though, they make commanding much easier as long as the mood stays light. Had to siege up Umber to get things started,why NSP loves that camp so much I will never know. The Danelon and QL defenses and T-Bone in front of AR’s keep, followed by coming in right behind the group hitting DG helped morale a lot, although me saying in /s “Shh, it’s a surprise” while I was right behind the BP group on the bridge to DG probably made a few players question my sanity. I always try to keep the mood friendly and fun when I lead. Now stop trebbing our towers! See you on the battlefield!

Thank you Borlis players, I haven’t actually commanded in a long while, thanks for helping me knock the rust off in EB. Man I don’t remember it being so chaotic…

While I am not on NSP, I respect the tenacity of it’s players. Before I got my commander tag, I did find linking locations in the chat to be the easiest way to show newer WvW players where you were talking about. Quite a few people on any given map really couldn’t tell you the names of most towers or camps.

@Toble Indeed, Anvil Rock and Northern Shiverpeaks have been planning this assault since October 2012, I guess the secret is now out. Darn the superiority of the great and powerful Borlis Pass, foiled again!!

And when a BP player posts about AR attacking NSP and BP owns over half of NSPs BL when I log on, it just completely nullifies anything you post. Not all, but a few BP players need to learn that it isn’t due to any amount of superiority, I get that people feel they are on the better server, or because AR or NSP lack the will to fight or the tenacity. Things tend to pan out in strange ways in WvW, you need to enjoy it more and cry a little less.
I have been in some great battles the last few weeks, I don’t run to the forums and pound my chest, or cry about fights gone bad. All that does is make you look like a poor loser or elitist, and neither is a good image.

Of course of course, commanders from both servers let you know about the double teaming. Cool story.
On a side note, anyone else notice condition damage from the player is reflected on the siege they are using? Condition Necros man the artillery!

My guess with lowlands would be AR initiated an assault from the east while NSP started from the north and met in the middle. At least I assume that happened, my guild was busy taking down the east wall of SM at the time this started. I was watching blue and red both closing in and figured there would eventually be a collision. Props to the BP soldiers for holding. But as far as double teaming? Last round AR keep was hit by BP golems at water gate then NSP golems at front gate almost simultaneously and I didn’t think it was a coordinated double team, just an opportunity to kill golems and collect badges.
I could come on here and get into the 10 or so on 3 at hylek earlier in the day, and say BP players are bad, I don’t because I figure it was most likely a karma/xp group.
You just need to embrace your victories and learn from your losses and stop being so self righteous. You may actually have some fun and respect your opponents for what they are and what they do.

To be fair, it was discussed on AR too, and AR alliance guilds overwhelmingly voted to continue doing what they have been.

I want to make anyone who has /w in game aware, if I do not respond in a timely manner, it is not because I don’t want to, I do a lot of WvW and support AR as much in Wv3 as I can. If I have failed to get back to you, try any of the other officers listed in the thread, I apologize in advance.

Considering that site isn’t taking into account the new formulas A-net is using, I wouldn’t hold too much stock in the match ups projected there.

Dear BP, why are you throwing the match? From a concerned AR citizen.

Seems people like hitting AR EB keep when I’m online, called 2 BP and 1 NSP attempt this round. Maybe be sneakier or use a lot more golems.

I do have a few guildies I’m getting into it, explaining combo fields and group tactics. Leveling a warrior to run in the 5 man, a little more group utility than my ranger.

Yes, this is totally correct. I never ever run solo, or do 2 player camp rotations, or do guild 5 mans…ever. AR doesn’t do that

Pre-patch transfers have supposedly caused… no idea what you’re talking about, loved the week we had vs Kaineng. And here is the part here I refuse to believe anything you’re saying.

Really, at this point, servers that want easy wins will be throwing next weeks match. Not saying that it will happen, certainly not ruling out the possibility.

So as the ratings are being reset, and there is a fairly high certainty that these 3 servers will be together for the jump off week, it is in our control to keep close to even or push a server into tier 1 if a blow out is allowed to happen. So I pose the question, being that we have a small bit of control, how do we exercise it?

I’m starting to become a fan of QZ/Entangle/Bonfire. That’s a whole lot of hurt in a short time.

Are you really that daft to think AR and BP didn’t attack each other last round? Not making headway is far different from not attacking. NSP defending their BL makes the difference. And it is an on going task, if you aren’t actively defending your BL don’t be shocked when another team takes it.

Yeah, like I said, I watch you guys doing it repeatedly, and it was a good working tactic, just a very unorganized AR group that had the “never stop pounding in until they take the objective” attitude that allowed it to work more than once. GG though, can’t argue with what works. On the other hand, I did enjoy randomly downing your stragglers even though on my own there was no way to finish them off with such close quarters.

Wasn’t calling out where they were, half the PuG people don’t pay much attention anyway. And yeah the culling won’t let you all just pop up in the middle of a zerg from that far away. Was just watching you run from one side to the other using the same tactic over and over wondering why the folks on AR weren’t catching on and just building carts to fire on our people when you did it, would have changed the outcome quite a bit.

@ekleenex Why do I think I’m the only one on AR that not only knew where your zerg was, but that you were using veil/invis to break into the zerg. Well, if anything, it was different to watch. Tactic wont work as well after the 28th though, so I guess use it now.

More like 4 hours, but I was on a hiatus so I could feel human again.

This better not mean I have to turn on my commander tag. Because as Anvil Pants so eloquently put it, “Dovgan is gonna do whatever Dovgan is gonna do, haven’t you figured that out by now?”. And my tag cuts into my “me” time.
On a side note my guild is starting a little growth and people are expressing Wv3 interest. May see more of us out in the field.

Need a job to pay for this phone I’m posting from. But yeah I do my 50-60 hours of work a week, maintain a house, and play games!
