I do realize that. There is no failure to understand that EBay put a lot of work into getting out of the tier, however, it’s players are currently working hard to reverse everything those players on EBay have done in the past 2-3 weeks. That’s all I am trying to get across. If the current EBay player base(those playing WvW this week) is what it has to throw at the tier above, then they are in for a rude and painful awakening when they meet up with servers that aren’t outmanned most of the time.

I would say that this was about perfect.

Let me try and simplify. Due to the RNG the 2 servers above EBay are showing a massive point gain, the 2 servers below AR are showing a massive point loss. If Ebay continues to avoid fighting BP during the NA Prime, they will have widened the gap even more than the 60 points it’s sitting at right now. The gap below AR is now nearly 90 rank points. You have forum trolls that like to try and spread the we fight BP and they are bad, but the facts through MOS don’t seem to work with that theory. In fact, leaving BP to do it’s thing is costing EBay more than they were gaining over the past several weeks. The only conclusion I can come up with is that either BP and EBay have come to an agreement to focus on AR, or that EBay is afraid to match up to BP. If the former is the case, it is clearly only benefiting BP, if it’s the latter, then it’s a good thing the server stayed where it is, because it was clearly not ready to advance.

Considering the current rating for EBay is dropping DOWN 24 points and showing a 19 point rating INCREASE for AR, enlighten us. (Glicko ranks based on predicted performance, all AR had to do was as well as last week to MAINTAIN to it’s current ranking and not lose points. However I would love to hear your interpretation of how the system works and why MOS and ANet are incorrect with the current stats).

And going hard against AR while ignoring the 2nd place server only causes you to lose rating. So we want to know where the logic is behind the previous statement. Ebay needs rating points, and AR doesn’t have any points to give them. So the only logical conclusion is that EBay is afraid to go up against BP.

Then why does EBay fear them so much?

We are well aware on Ehmry Bay of how Glicko-2 works and what we need to do to gain rating points. At least, those of us who are reading the Ehmry forums should be, because the details are all posted there (including statistical analysis).

I really don’t mean this in a disparaging way, but a lot of our players were extremely disappointed to find themselves matched against BP and AR again this week. Given that we had only a 5% chance of getting this particular matchup again, it was a big disappointment when it happened. It was very much like getting 1 on a 1D20 roll, during a critically important part of a game. It’s not just unlucky, it’s unlucky at the worst possible time. It was such a huge disappointment that a lot of our players have decided to take the week off.

Here are the relevant Glicko-2 E(mu,mu-sub-j,phi-sub-j) values for our current matchup:

Believe me, my concerns for the following weeks aren’t even because of the current match up here, but what is occurring due to the RNG above and below this tier. That’s where the results of the next roll, barring some sort of divine intervention, look grim as gaps above and below begin to widen. Nothing against any server, but I signed up to play a game, not get married.

You do realize that Glicko is flawed, and currently the only server of the 3 losing ranking is EBay. All AR needs to do is maintain the performance from last week, which it is exceeding, to lose no ranking points. Look at MOS and tell me which server has dropped in ranking of the three. Wanted to say I’m going to miss playing on Anvil Rock. Been there since launch, lots of good times with great players. Since the new year what I want from a WvW server has been changing and Anvil just wasn’t it anymore. Despite many efforts to organize and improve, a good deal of which improved the server a lot, Anvil now reminds me a lot of the days after we lost [ARC]. I was only really enjoying roaming and that is far from all I want to do in WvW. Didn’t really know where would be a good fit for me until we started fighting Ehmry. Despite the trolls, (which doesn’t bother me, as a citizen of the internet you learn to identify and ignore trolls) Ehmry seemed like the place. Organized and tactically strong zergs, small group play, roamers, and a large active community. I was waiting for the matchup to end and now that’s it’s come to a close I’m leaving Anvil.

Going to miss a lot of guys, especially the [WAR] guys and the guys who left to join [Crit]. A lot of good players are on Anvil, I’m going to miss roaming with guys like Dovgan, my [Crit] buddies, and Kardiamond (wish we had played together sooner because it’s a blast to run with you) and whole bunch of others.

No ill will guys, I know Anvil and it will reorganize, revamp and get back to the way things were. Looking forward to what my new home has to offer and offering my dubious skills to them.

Have to say, met some fine people on Ehmry Bay over the last few million weeks, have enjoyed stirring up it’s trolls too(by the way you guys have WAY too many for one server). I believe players who post they want a good fight that are on Ehmry honestly do, but also doubt that this tenacity is felt by the majority of it’s players. If it were they wouldn’t have sat on the smallest of the three servers in this tier for the last few weeks. Not saying it happened in the BLs(although maps would seem to agree) but having the two larger servers constantly hitting the smallest server definitely reduced the numbers of players on ARs maps even more. I’m sure a troll will key in on that, good for you. But I think that the other servers in the matchup have seen a significant drop of AR presence this week. I expect that Ehmry’s momentum will carry over into the first 2-3 days of the next match up as well, until it’s fairer weathered players realize that it’s hard facing closer numbered opponents, but it should be enough to lock you guys in tier 4 for a bit and keep you ranked high enough that AR won’t see you for a decent amount of time, which is a shame, because some of you folks are fun.(Don’t forget to point out I’m crying about numbers and if you could throw a few “dumpsters” in there, possible a bad paint pic if you have a chance.) I await the painfully predictable trolls to reply.

First off, EBay doesn’t zerg … Fact (see pics below, this is clearly a coordinated guild group)

Second I have met a few folks on EBay that I genuinely like. (That is real, no sarcasm)

Each server has tower and guard hugging players, yes even EBay. I’m not sure why a few of the Ego Trolls here refuse to just accept that.

The fact that there are representation from most of the major guilds on EBay in the picture is why forum posters find it confusing when certain players make claims.

You would be correct that the misses doesn’t PvP much (she is, however, almost 400 in almost every crafting discipline. Congrats to her, I just don’t have the patience to get through all that). She does however make the most amazing sounds when she is in WvW, so it’s totally worth having here run along.

The comments about EBay tower hugging ar in direct response to the nonsense your trolls post. You don’t like it, control your trolls. Each server has groups of larger numbers that just seem glues to the interior of the towers, this is not a phenomenon strictly confined to AR or BP.

We just want good fights. We’ve beaten the odds plenty of times already, so it doesn’t matter if we wipe. Usually we need to sell anyways.

I know the feeling. My bags are full more often than not and it’s a pain searching the bags on the ground for badges or decent loot when your bag is red.

We usually have 2-4 and yes, we occasionally get run over too, it’s the best time to sell and recharge.

First post was just reflecting what I see on the forums, and I was not disappointed by the standard EBay trolls. I was pleasantly surprised when I didn’t get a chest pounding “I r the bestest dumpster dumpster dumpster” reply. The reality is I will happily fight any player anywhere, and most of my guild would too. I appreciate the exactitude of your roaming time percentage. Understand a few of my posts may contain a healthy dose of sarcasm as a direct result of some of the forum trollers. And absolutely, look us up any time, we like a decent fight.

The problem with 1 v 1 is daily dodger can’t be achieved with the press of a single button like it can when you hit a zerg. And as far as thieves go, in an even fight, they are hardly overpowered, just really annoying. Mesmers, on the other hand, that’s bordering on having an in game “easy” button in most 1 v 1 situations. Not impossible, but generally a far more challenging fight than a thief.

Spent the last month in the BLs, maybe all the skilled players have been on break for a month. Went to Eternal yesterday hoping to find anything even remotely amusing, all I found were large groups of bad players, and one decent mesmer. It was nice being able to use the same siege multiple times on the same tower though.

Evidently all my fights against AR and BP alone while they have 3-4 have been imagined thus far.

Really don’t claim one server does something every server does I remember several occasions where BP and AR have sat in towers firing Arrow Carts at me rather than coming out with more than enough people in the tower to CC me down and kill me in seconds, Everyone does it at some point.

Since I have never actually seen an EBay player alone, I would agree, your fights have been imagined.

Now, I’m not saying all EBay players are horrible, but your majority are. It’s smart that they run in packs, it’s the only way they could take a solo player down.

You guys trying to bore us into staying out of WvW or something? We went from eating you both easily for various reasons, to yall giving us all sorts of kitten, to AR almost completely disappearing and BP seeming more disorganized than ever. We faced so little meaningful resistance today people started logging out of boredom. PVDoor is not fun.

Honestly, for this AR player, I’m bored of this matchup. It’s pointless to even bother with it. I’ve only been WvWing to get my daily, then I do something else or log and play a different game. This weekend it was latter more than the former.

I have been on, not as much as usual (mostly due to the real world) and I get a general feel players are just extremely bored. I still enjoy running around doing small squad things, but the larger AR groups just haven’t been engaged. Popped into Eternal yesterday to harass a little, wound up 3 manning a tower and flipping various supply and NPC camps then running into overwhelming numbers from either BP or EBay. It’s fun showing new people how to lose a huge force, but odd when that’s all you see on a map.

Kind of why I would rather see this set up. It’s voluntary, offers risk vs. reward.

Just have 1 orb in 3 parts protected by the NPC camps in Eternal Battlegrounds(have an orb champion protecting it). Make this orb only storable at SMC and worth a certain PPT. If all 3 orbs are held for over a certain length of time, a Legendary Dragon is summoned and will attack SMC to retrieve the orb. Give this dragon a higher than average loot table, because at this point, the server that’s met all the criteria has earned it. In this instance I could see Legendary Dragons working. This could add several layers of new dynamics into Eternal Battlegrounds, make holding SMC more worthwhile, and maybe add a little more “epic” to EBG.
