So then maybe you can muster enough people and get past the guards, and maybe camp the enemy waypoint, that would be best. I mean if you can’t zerg up and kill people of their base, better would be directly where they port in.

First pic is the norm, didn’t get the screen of the 20 or so on the other side of us, second, well that’s the most fair fight I have had with you guys so far DH, and I still downed one of you. I guess you’re right, it isn’t the numbers, it’s you elite skills, and incredible organization.

Just wiped out a huge group of bots in AR BL wiped the group twice, and you have players there aggressively defending the bot farms. I’m not saying it’s you, and there are so many there it’s hard to report.

@iii I didn’t refuse to come into your Vent, I still have the address written down. Unless you don’t read your PM’s, I was running two groups through a different voice chat.

As far as splitting, killing yaks, starving supply, escorting, we do all of that. Not to the extent that your server does.

Here is a fine example. In AR BL today, middle of the day, we had almost 12 whole people, and we capped all the supply runs on the northern part of the map, both towers, upgraded the supply to try and feed the towers for upgrades. And immediately we had DH taking back both towers. Not one, but both, We had undermanned up the whole time. Of course it wasn’t difficult to see why. And no we cannot beat a 40 man zerg with 12 people. I don’t care how good you think you are at WvW, how good your strategy is, when you have a nearly 4 to 1 disadvantage in numbers in off peak, consider what you have during peak and tell me that siege placement makes any difference at this point in the game.

I don’t think that you can comprehend the reality of the situation in WvW for the other 2 servers because you have never been there. In all honesty the greatest number I have seen in one place for our server this entire match up is MAYBE 20 players. And they usually are rotating maps trying to find any map where you do not have a huge group of players, and it has as of yet not happened. I have not been in one map where I have not had the undermanned buff in the last week.

And if you feel like you are fighting against equal numbers, then you guys are going to have a heck of a match next week, and we’ll see you soon.

Oh and iii, I’m kind of shocked you don’t have bot farms at all three quaggin camps in your list. You may want to add that.

This is not a thread to bring up bitterness about a guild leaving. ANV left, an indication of their commitment to their server, maybe. As far as ANV TS, and ARC I know I personally asked on more than one occasion for that info, and never got a response. If that is trying hard, then I can understand why you failed.

I think that it shows the quality of player that the OP is. I guess spending hours trebbing an empty gate with the desperate hope you can get a badge of honor is “honorable” to him/her. Pretty sure that the community in general and especially the OPs server should be aware of what a “class act” some of their players are.

For servers higher in the rankings too. Obviously if they condone the behavior, then they will accept it and embrace it, maybe even come to enjoy it as well when it is done to them.

@Kardiamond I completely understand that, I feel you, really I do. Sometimes taking new people into the WvW does help make me resee why I do it in the first place.
@Sess Staying put? Good, not that I don’t understand why people would transfer to an easier situation. But remember, you don’t get better at something by going down to an easier situation. People are going to be hardened veterans on the lower tiered servers long before most other players. We will adapt to survive, because we have to, and that will pay off in the long term.

I know that Anvil Rock is going through some difficult times right now, and that everything feels hopeless, and imagine that it feels similar for the members of Ferguson’s that WvWvW. I just wanted to say, never falter, never surrender, do not give up on your server. No, you are not going to control the whole map, and yes, you are probably going to lose that supply camp you just captured, but get in the fight. Get out there and at the very least cost your enemy a little silver, and a little pride. Flip those camps, flip those towers. Do whatever it takes to dig in and entrench for the rest of this match up. Don’t try and rule the whole map, find yourself a little corner and hold it like the die hard warriors I know are.

While it’s true, over the last few weeks, AR has lost 2 very active WvW guilds, and a lot of great players/strategists (TFO then ANV) this is not the time to just say all is lost, everything is hopeless.

Yesterday, I took 2 guild members into WvW that had done little to no WvW and you know what, we had a blast, score or no score. We killed caravans, flipped NPC camps, took supply camps, It was a great time, while occasionally aggravating to be run down by 3-4 times your number with the orb bonus, but, as it turns out, the other players bleed just as well with the buff on as they do with it off, and the people we finished… what a great feeling. Knowing that regardless of score, we could do great things in the small scenarios, and it felt really good to push just 5 more points up, not because it’s going to make us win, but because so many feel like it cannot be done.

Never surrender, even when all hope seems lost, keep fighting to your last.

And for the love of all that is good and pure, stop running into fortified keeps with full siege, it’s embarrassing.

On second thought, keep up the good work DH, I made 140k karma, 6 gold, a lot xp (I made 80 3 more times today), and got a friend in game a new great sword(thanks undermanned buff). I’m sure all of your players are doing just as well as our little 2-4 man crews are. Keep trebbing the spawn walls for hours walls, we’ll keep flipping your camps.

You know, at this point, and after seeing the three trebs at the spawn, and the super awesome guys manning them, I hope DH goes up SEVERAL ranks and receive as warm a welcome from higher tier servers . Three trebs off a spawn, an arrow cart, three balistas in the supply, a second arrow cart. Shameless way to kill unsuspecting people. By the way, where are those trebs now? Go spend a few more gold and buy some new ones, we accidentally broke all that garbage.

@stortzdeoliveira Well aware of the number of exits there are, and all 3 were camped at our BL a while ago. What I’m saying is, you guys must really be raking in the karma .. ahem..

On a side note, there are far more than just 3 ways out of a camp.

Well, the truly sad part is DH as a server right now is camping almost all of the spawns so almost no one can even exit, and there are very few people even in our spawns at this point. Your server realizes that if you don’t let anyone out of the enemy camps, you are costing yourselves xp, karma, and badges right? Talk about being extremely counter productive. Should be a great time for you when you move up in the rankings and have less than half the badges/karma or xp that the servers you’re going against have. If you have no one to fight, then you just have another PVE zone with crappy rewards.

If you’re on green, which you appear to be, we didn’t play your server last week. That’s an odd thing to say.

Read the chat. Fix the gate/rush out now. But cute picture. Maybe edit the chat window out next time? I’ve been knocked all over the screen by a zerg too.

The die hard members of Anvil Rock, while often cursing at the computer screen, will never submit, and continue to fight regardless of chance of victory. Some of us are just too darn stubborn to quit, or high tail it to a server with easier odds.

I’m looking forward to hitting WvW after I can escape this pesky work nonsense. I’m really hoping to see no server has already packed up and waved the flag of surrender. Hoping to see some action later.

It’s fine, orbs really don’t make much of a difference.

Looking to recruit mature players with a WvW focus. We are a small guild, looking to build small coordinated groups for tactical strikes on enemy targets. No large group hit it and quit it mentality. Feel free to send me a pm or in game mail for info.

While I am disappointed to see any guild transfer off server, it shows a certain level of loyalty, commitment and pride to those that stay. As servers build and even out, those that stay with their original server, I have major respect for. I started on AR, and I have stayed here, through all the roller coaster matches that we have seen since day 1, and will continue to stay here trying to help my server in any way that I can. I wish there was more loyalty throughout the game and all the servers, sadly a lot take the easiest way out, and it is a shame to see.

@Sundial Borlis is just as guilty of this as AR is. Your server does the exact same thing. But what a great idea, if only your server felt the same way.

Only time and equal opponents will tell when it comes to the future of the NSP server. Yak’s Bend felt the same way, that they had superior players and tactics until they met servers that had equal numbers, and we see what’s happening to them now. I don’t blame the entirety of the NSP server for the orbs? that were hacked (one of which I watched happen) no comment as far as any others. But the effects it has on the overall morale of the server cannot be under estimated either. A large enough group of people would just rather not even queue up, basically turning the whole of the BG’s into very one sided fights.

That all being said, I have had some excellent battles with a lot of NSP players and a great time over all. I am saddened to see the match soured, but I guess after two weeks, and some obvious bitterness, it was to be expected. This is “war” after all. I wish NSP the best when they move up, but let YB be a lesson, it is not an easy road.

I think that is the one reason that Borlis has not been as vocal, if they were on week 2 of the same line that AR has been on, I can pretty much guarantee there would be players there as well feeling a lot like the AR community is feeling right now. Not to slight either of the other 2 servers, but you have to have walked down this road before you can judge the people on the server for feeling the way they do.

From a single player of WvW from my guild I get really tired of dropping siege and trying to build upgrades while watching people not only not assist in building siege but also taking supply out of the tower I upgrade. Anyone that has run with me knows I always carry siege and am happy to do my small part to assist any groups I may be in. I have dropped 6-7 rams a run while in a group where other members aren’t even willing to drop supply to build them. When I run with ANV, which I do on occasion now, the groups at least help on the builds, but believe me when I have to run to a supply I just capped 4 or 5 times because I am apparently the only person in a group that even understands that you need supply to build siege, it gets old. I’ve dropped 5 gold at a time to upgrade supply camps and towers, and build siege. As a solo player, it is a costly process. I do it and try and teach newer WvW players what needs to be done to succeed. I feel your pain TFO, ANV, and any other organized groups out there. Willing to bet I placed more siege at Quentin the other day than a good percentage of folks on our server have ever dropped the entire time they have been on the map.

You can solo supply camp, I do it all the time, but congrats on that 5 man group thing. Some of us could care less about the pop issue, we just want a fight. Your recruiting efforts to NSP while commendable, seems to have attracted some bad elements as well. I would rather be undermanned than be put in contempt.

Trust me EB wasn’t full on our side when the rematch started we had no queue. I left for a bit and went right back in, still no queue. Honestly I have never been in a queue for WvW on EB. Once for like 5 minutes on borderlands, personally I thought people were making up the queue thing until then. And I would be willing to bet we had well under 160 in EB.

Pssh, some of us never give up. When you guys went to retake Jerrifer in the last round there was one defender, and I didn’t stop trebbing even after the tower flipped. That was my tower, even if your server wanted to throw 30 people at it. My tower…MINE!!

By the way about 80% of the time I in fact do have the undermanned buff. Got some nice epic exotic drops off guards. Been funding my repairs from that buff.

Well, being on AR we took SM right away, but afterwards quite a few people peeled off to either run supplies or retake towers. If population weren’t an issue we could have defended SM for longer, we just didn’t have bodies to do both

On a side note, most of the towers we retook had no defenders. Why U no defend towers NSP?

Well, regardless of exploits I will continue to fight for my server. I have seen so many threads about how the orb bonus"isn’t that big a difference" but first when we had 2 I saw a huge difference against the other players and second, why an effort to hack to get them if there is a chance you could be perma banned unless they were game changing. So, that being said, regardless of hacks, exploits etc. I will continue to fight for my server. Sure knowing that even with imbalance in server population some people have to go beyond the game mechanics in order to win sucks, but just giving up, I can’t do that. The fact that someone felt the need to hack in order to win is sad and disheartening, just throwing in the towel, that is even sadder.

A couple points I wanted to make here.

First, when I saw we were up against NSP I was actually kind of happy, because I thought “what a great way to see the overall strides our server has made”.

You can’t expect to defend every point on the battlefield, it’s impossible with our numbers. We can only do our best to hold key points. If you feel a point needs defense, defend it. I build siege and solo defend towers all the time. I pay for the upgrades etc.

Keep fighting hard AR, you will see me on the battlefield.

It’s funny, from Anvil Rock here. Looks like it’s tougher going up against even numbers than the 15-20 people a map Yak faced in our first match up. Congrats on the excellent screen shot. The one thing I remember most fondly about our match up was your players setting a ram up at our elevator.

Just me a treb an arrow cart and a lot of NSP at the door, which I assume were trying to sell me something. They kept knocking so I eventually had to let them in.

Man I would love to get in on this more. I really must work on getting my little guild active in WvW.

@Bahatsu had a fight against two NSP at a supply yesterday. Difference is that they had the NPC’s but they were both up arrow. Killed the NPC guards first because they were more dangerous. Killing up arrows with your guards help isn’t even a chore. Got to say been having some good fights that weren’t horribly as out matched as the 3 FC folks in that pic are
To the two NSP that I went up against last night in your borderlands supply, good fight and valiant defense.

Seemed pretty balanced now, when I logged in quick this morning all 3 parts of the pie chart were almost even.

What a fun night on Anvil! Hope to have more like this in the future. @NSP, running directly into your groups and dropping traps and roots gave me endless hours of entertainment. I hope that we can keep the pace up, makes for a far more entertaining match up.

@Sess I thought it would be good to start a dialogue so people who were actively in WvW could get a little information. I started the thread with that intent.
@CorruptDictator try hitting one of their members up in game or a member of (ANV). They seem pretty open to WvW players that don’t mind putting the work in.

Yes it was a blast. Last night was by far one of the better, more organized and fluid nights we’ve had on AR WvW in awhile. We may not be all the way there, but it was a nice glimpse into what we can do as a server when people work together.

Had a really fun time working with everyone defending our little keep in EB. NSP kept pounding the walls with trebs and swarming in. We held for hours. Epic battles last night. Hats off to NSP groups for the battles. Great work overall by TFO, enjoyed working with you guys last night. Fun times working with a lot of people/guilds I had not seen on these maps before.

@Serashen What is with the poor attitude and hatred if you and your guild left Anvil? Is it that you found out you weren’t the factor you thought you would be? Don’t get mad with Anvil Rock, be productive and worry about where you are, not where you were.

I don’t think AR WvW is bad. The state of WvW could improve and the organization could be a lot better. Small groups, we have those and need them, but coordinating them with the larger groups is necessary for our overall success. We can do better.

@CorruptDictator in all honesty EB plays much better in smaller groups because of it’s size. Keep fighting the good fight, coordinate with other groups. If TFO is running a blitz, hold back and defend one of the towers so it isn’t immediately rolled over. Look me up online, considering I am always solo, you appear to have an open group slot.

@Evil Kinevil I have experienced a lot of the same which has pretty much forced me into running solo guerilla style assaults on targets I can handle alone and relatively quickly. If there ever is an alliance that got going I would be happy to do my part. @Serashen language and maturity like that will be sorely missed.

Where I do think honor should work like karma, if you don’t think that making it 100% honor drop would absolutely turn into a who can field a bigger zerg fest and farm the smaller groups pretty much wiping out solo and small group play completely I’ll have to just agree to disagree with you there.

@Leiloni no one said anything about nerfing anything more. I said it would promote zergs if it was 100% honor drop, which it isn’t. How is not changing something nerfing it more. Half the posters here have less than half the WvWvW kills I have and I fail to see how increasing honor or loot drops to 100% does anything but put zerg groups on easy mode. If you want 100% return you gave yourself 2 viable options.

I couldn’t disagree more. When a group of 6 people gets swarmed by an enemy of more than triple their number, and you don’t get honor, good, you don’t deserve it. And this would promote not discourage mass zergs.

@Rarespawn, no one is faulting your tactics, I for one think that they make my time in EB entertaining, and they split enemy forces. Good for short term, helps build morale when we go from 0 to 100+ points in a short time. Just doesn’t make a lot of points, and in the general infancy of the server match ups, it’s probably helping teach your members the basics of siege warfare.Keep doing your thing, the rest will develop.
