Put your mouse over each region in pve, when you don’t have map completion the progress bar for that region wont be full.

Wvw waypoints are all automatically unlocked when you visit the map so the waypoints you are missing are in PvE.

Also keep in mind that waypoints were added for the guild puzzle locations and 2 were added in Orr, check those spots first.

No they stated that every server will fight each other server at least once within a league, so it isn’t entirely random.

Reset on the 18th is the cutoff.

I feel sorry for NSP. They are tanking to be in Bronze, and I can safely say that +600 for two weeks straight on SBI was boring. I have had more fun this week getting rolled by SoR than the past 2 weeks of rolling.

Looks like SBI might slip down into silver, unless we somehow hold onto a gold spot during the week. Either way it is a tough spot to be in. Roll or be rolled.

NSP, I know that not all of you are tanking, and there are competitors on every sever. But, for the ones that are, I would advise you to stop. Rolling servers gets boring.

It’s Anet’s version of The Biggest Loser. NSP vs. HoD vs. Kaineng. Right now, NSP is winning at losing, but man Kaineng is trying hard! Except, just like in all good “reality” TV, the producer (Anet) has attempted to influence the outcome by pushing a T5 server down to T8 in the last match. Oooo…..the drama!! Thanks Anet. >:(

Honestly, we faced kaineng recently and they weren’t really that stacked anymore. Some of them might be trying to tank, but, most likely they suffered too many transfers to be competitive anymore.

Kaineng should still be roflstomping HoD, but since HoD is one of the contenders in The Biggest Loser, you get the Loser competition.

Ebay should toss a wrench into their plans and go PvE this week. It’s not like the WvW’ing is gonna be any fun, unless they like sitting in towers for days on end with no one to fight.

Uh no. The week prior we beat HoD (barely) and only because we had an oceanic force we no longer have as of this week (check score evolution in how we did in NA prime vs out of prime timeslots). Our last large oceanic guild transferred off before reset, and on Saturday we lost another large NA guild to IoJ. With our current force we cannot beat HoD in a head to head.

Uh, from what I understand here utility/elite resses are untouched (still rally up to 5 people). If anything this is a buff to those utilities and elites because they are now more necessary.

HoD will not go silver. Kaineng is the server that will endure silver for the first season.

It’s not at all clear at this point which U.S. servers will make it into 5th and 6th spots in the gold league, which also impacts which servers end up in Silver league. It’s more firm in bronze, but there is still a chance of some flip flopping in positions 15 – 17.

They cant tell us specific SERVERS sure, but they can tell us that the server rated #1 will face server #3 and server #5 in week 1. We the players can figure it out from there.

After those 7 weeks are up, NSP will be forced into silver anyway.

Poor Kain. We are having to use ALTS that have supply from previous matches to build rams! We are still fighting, but we dont deserve to be in Silver League. How is NSP only having 125 PPT vs the rank 23 and 24 unless they are purposely tanking. HoD is barely putting up any points either in our match up versus Ebay.

Seriously though NSP has a better fighting chance than Kain does at the moment in silver league. Stop tanking your already non-random matchup.

We at Kain have lost so many guilds that we probably are tier 7 or tier 8 at this point. I mean seriously, we are logging in alts to have to build stuff here at Kain.

I really don’t like ‘GvG’, but that’s my opinion. I would like it better if people renamed it to GDM (guild death match) which is what the mode really is.

Its my opinion, this community organized GvG is nothing like the GvG which I played in GW1.

It’s not. Guild Death Match would suggest you can respawn and run back during the fight.

We call it GvG because that’s exactly what it is: 2 guilds fighting eachother with a specified set of rukitten th guilds agree to.

Just because it goes against your personal definition of what a GvG is about (maybe because you played a different game where “gvg” meant something else), but this is GvG in GW2, until they add an official mode for it. Again, what we do, by definition, is guild vs guild.

Death Match can have no respawns. Though I guess Guild Arena or Guild Battle is a better descriptor, I don’t like the use of GvG because GvG means something very specific to me and I’m sure a lot of Guild Wars Prophecies players agree with me. But you have established the gametype under that moniker and there is about nothing I can do about it.

GvG in guild wars 1 had wave respawning, and it was an objective based game.

It looks like NSP is throwing right now to GoM.

Afik Anet are unable to ‘fix’ this because it’s built into the Havok 3D engine that’s in common use for many MMOs. The ‘hack’ is into a part of the system they have no control over. So all of this complaining and blaming is a bit pointless

Guild wars 2 engine is proprietary to arenanet. It uses Havok physics but the engine itself is proprietary.

Kaineng if it gets into bronze league will be unlikely to win it.

HoD needs to not take a PvE holiday for kain to fall properly. HoD is the reason that kain isn’t losing 100 rating this week. Hod can drop kains rating and avoid getting into silver league themselves if they applied themselves to that goal.

A lot of guilds have left Kain recently, a few more announced today that they are leaving.

Kain is a T7 server at best right now, but we might get stuck in silver leagues to have 20k weekly scores at this rate.

Look at the mos site right now. If GoM and AR predictably give up come Monday NSP wont lose enough points to stay in bronze.

Hod doesn’t have too much risk of getting into silver. they can push ppt and take more points away from kaineng if they wanted. Kaineng is losing a few more people to transfers this week as well. With the 5 point gap between kaineng and NSP it is definitely possible that NSP can end up silver.

To be honest neither server deserves to be in silver, they are all bronze level servers.

One thing I don’t get. In wvw PASSIVE effects NEVER LAG. They are always there, and always work. (Healing signet warrior for instance). Why is that so? Why do active skill lag while passive ones don’t. Honeslty at the moment this makes stonemist fights a bit unfair (passive heal so much strong then active heal, cause they won’t activate).

I’ll take a shot at this.

In very large battles when the server is lagging – time takes longer. The server only lets clients use skills after they are off cooldown. If the server is taking 2 seconds to process 1 second worth of data that means the real cooldown of your ability has doubled. The problem is the client itself has no way of knowing how slow the server is going so the timer on your skillbar only uses real time. So if your heal has a 20 second cooldown and you are in a laggy fight, the server might only think 10 seconds has passed when you try to hit the skill again, thus the skill wont activate because it is still on cooldown according to the server.

Passive effects i’m not absolutely sure about, but they might only be half effective in laggy situations as well, for example you only get 10 seconds of healing in a 20 second period. The major advantage of passive abilities is that you don’t need to know when its off cooldown and useable.

I don’t understand VoTF’s fascination with blaming this entirely on BANNERS. Why when you guys run to the forum on this issue you shout how banners are the problem. There are multiple ways to fix it, you even allude to it in your posts.

They are not the problem, you will get support about people being able to waypoint in when the cap circle is up, but you will not get the same support about banners. Bannering supervisors and lords to me is entirely valid, it makes fights happen, and helps the defense.

Slipping in under a waypoint when the attacking team has no idea when the waypoint resets is a bit unfair to me, and I fully support locking waypoints when the lord is defeated. Allowing defenders to slip in on the reset of the quest is ok, as long as the lord is alive.

I like the mechanics of instaressing the objective. WvW should encourage fighting players and part of that allows stalling objectives so players can get there in time to fight. Being able to stall the cap can bring some exciting moments in wvw and I don’t want that to be taken away.

We have a couple guilds on kaineng in the NA/oceanic timeslot that said they are transferring off kaineng, but they are still pushing PPT, so our points are higher than they should be.

Bannering the lord really isn’t the problem.

Its the waypoint. Waypoints should stay closed if the lord is defeated. Banner being able to do what it does is important as it buys your team time to get to the objective. If your enemy had to run from spawn instead of waypointing in you probably would have taken that keep.

You might be surprised how many numbers you would “magically” have should you fall into the bronze league….BTW what guilds did you lose? [CNB] was a fairly large guild, but a couple of the others I saw claiming to want to leave were not that big numbers wise(coming from someone who faced them in WvW).

You’d have a field day with the bags is what would happen. We are mostly a PvE server now, so when we get fairweathers I sincerely doubt they’d hinder organized enemy pushes much if at all. Do you get more than 5 people in server comms during prime? Congrats, you’re more organized than us on the average day.

We lost CnB and Rx to SoS, they are organized 10-15 raiding guilds and mostly all we had in that department. We also lost 4 or so more smaller guilds to various gold league servers. Not big, no, but it adds up, you know that down in these lower tiers. We’re right now inundated with a bunch of randoms that haven’t learned how to work together yet; we need the bronze league to sort that out. I think the biggest consequence of leagues is that it pits low tier servers against each other in another, uglier way. No one wants to die and burn out at the bottom of their league. Except Maguuma, who is immortal.

Remember, having just “some NA” while having decent oceanic/EU wins lower tier matches. Because some lower tiers have low pop at NA, but none have any oceanic coverage to speak of. Not sure what you guys lost in that department.

I may be wrong but I do not think you will drop to bronze, because many of the servers in bronze had already prepared for lower-silvers to attempt a “tanking”. The bronze league is already imbalanced enough from the top-bottom in comparison, the last thing we need is more of it. Hopefully after the leagues stuff you population lines out and you guys end up at the tier/level you should really be.

It may be blatant but is there any way to block all log-in attempts from a set of countries? I’d personally limit access to make account to a very narrow range of no more than 5 nations. Most people could make do with a single one.

Hackers often can easily use proxies to make them look like they are logging in from any country. Requiring them to use a proxy can make it more difficult for users to identify an illicit attempt.

And its a bit untrue to say no one cares considering there are lots of threads that are full of people that WANT her to have a good motive.

You don’t even have to ‘get’ the agro. You can simply have 4 party members stay away from the ooze, while one person always refreshes the lure debuff on themselves by going to the plant in the room and manually refreshing the debuff.

It was easier with that method because understanding that everyone but that guy should stay away from the ooze is much easier than everyone knowing what to do with the ooze when debuffed.

Just saying its possible. It depends heavily on what matchups happen. If kaineng has to fight 16 and below servers twice, it is likely they will lose enough rating in time. And it doesn’t have to be NSP that is pushed up into 15th for kaineng to fall, any server can potentially pass NSP.

Kaineng’s only losing so much this week because of Stormbluff Isle. Two weeks ago it was up against rank 19 and rank 21 and lost less only about 20 rating.

Northern Shiverpeaks also has lost rating in its last 5 matches. It’s not exactly a rising star. I don’t think there’s been a big shift in its population in a long time so it’s got a pretty solid rating. I think it’s fairly high ranking has more to do with what the servers below it lost than what it gained.

Did you miss the post where I said Kaineng just recently lost a lot of WvW guilds.

Yeah. Kaineng does not have the NA population to compete against any server in the silver league, we currently have the NA population that can compete with the upper half of the bronze league, probably not even first place.

Even as bad as Kaineng is tanking now, Its hard to believe that they will drop another 130-140 points that they need to move NSP up into the Silver tier. Not that its not possible, just hard to believe it will happen.

If kaineng continues to drop 50 points a week, all it takes is a single matchup with NSP and NSP can also gain 50+ points.

It really depends on the matchmaking. If kaineng has to fight higher rated servers they wont lose enough rating, but a single match with a lower rated server and you can tank over 100 points in a week.

In Pro/reg it would be hard for certain servers to ever be matched up even if they are close.

The current system with tamping down the randomness a bit would work the best.

The problem with tiered matchups is that it created an effect I am going to call teir locking.

When servers would switch teirs, they would always push points UP while taking points away from lower rank servers. In effect the point differential between the top server and the bottom server kept increasing. Eventually it became nearly impossible to move up teirs at all. Even if your server had the population and coverage to beat servers in the next teir because your server could not beat the other servers in your teir enough to push their rating past the massive rating gulf between the teirs.

Essentially you had to wait till a server above you imploded, which would make the rating gulf even bigger.

Why wont kaineng move down? Are you aware what has happened to kaineng in the last few weeks?

(hint, they lost a lot of people, again).

You have to do a lot better at the PPT game against darkhaven and fergie if you want to get out of bronze league. It does mean you will have to start camping spawns wherever possible.
