When you are in melee range – doubledodge.
When you are outside of melee range – go away.
Problem – solved.
When you are not close to lupicus when he does his aoe you can just walk out of circles because they have a long travel time. Only projectiles close to him will sometimes not cause a red circle appearing. And you don’t have to solo lupicus to melee him…
DO NOT RANGE LUPICUS OR YOU GET PUNISHED FOR USING TRASH WEAPONS!
EDIT: CAPS
Go check http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html. It’s real-time up to date.
Works perfect.
Dodging back and forth is a very good idea. Ranging this boss is a very bad idea.
I solo’ed this boss on 6 professions – that means guardian and 5 other professions. My problem has never ever been his phase 2 aoe.
Those red circles are very, very accurate. Stand outside of those who aren’t close to him just 1 mm and you won’t get hit. The circles close to him just don’t get drawn quick enough and therefore partially never appear.
Ehm. No. Berserker gear is the best choice in pve, (almost) always.
If you can’t handle it when you’re the only one wearing it, learn to play. Berserker gear isn’t about whole group using it so stuff goes down before it can attack – that won’t work in many situations.
That transmutation discussion is also a bit stupid, just buy another t3 armor set and transmute the skin to your berserker set – gg, got two cultural t3’s now.
I don’t think it was intended but it is a perfect example of how broken gw2 pve balance is. It tells ranged fight, defensive gear and most professions are extremely bad in this game and thats the way it currently is.
There is a wild concept called a ‘race’ where people try to compete to do things faster than each other.
Weird.
@Chopps: Who says DnT isn’t (wasn’t?, heard something of falling apart) a good guild.

It’s a good thing, showing new players that ranged weapons simply are trash and shouldn’t be used in dungeon runs. I just doubt any new player will get that message.
Yeah saw that lately too. He always startedPhase 3 with AoE lifeleech and 3 dumb pugs were standing in it so he healed over 60% hp.
4 Warriors + 1 Guardian or 5 Warriors is even better i’d say. Mesmers actually suck, they are incredibly slow, deal no damage and are only important at a very few situations.
I’d rather solo the dungeon than having good runners in pvt gear who think they are contributing to the fight because they don’t die. Also in my experience tge gear does not decide if someone is able to get through somewhere, i often get new pugs who ask for advice and follow it in berserker gear who skip something second try and i often get “experienced” people in PVT gear who give up trying after their 20’s death.
I don’t give a kitten about the most runs in some time, i care about the fastest single run time. Thats how records have been in gw1, noone was able to continuously do 14 min uw’s (we had some 15’s in a row tho), but still the 14 was an impressive achievement.
Time should be taken from when everyone connected and is able to move till reward.
Sometimes running solo is faster than pugging. I lately carried a group through path 3 Arah (soloed Crusher in the time they killed Hunter, soloed Mage Crusher, started soloing abomination, got wiped because guys drag 3 risens to me, soloed aboms, started soloing lupicus, got wiped because someone pulls champion warrior to me, started soloing lupi again, got wiped because someone felt like bugging him (he starts shadowstep, person he aims on come close to him → he goes stealth) and have finally been kicked for rushing like a horse. It took 45 minutes, usually i solo path 3 twice in that time…
Also i lately got the by far worst guardian (and player overall) into my "competend (experienced&skilled) group. He did wipe about 20 times before reaching Ooze, died 5 times running to Entitys, died another 10 times when he was supposed to use a portal directly at wp and even wiped our mesmer by drawing all aggro in an area of 3000 to the waypoint. Finally was unable to stand on a fountain at Tar Elem, so we kicked him. And i do almost never kick people.
So the whole point in loosing ~10% damage output is not having to change the armor between encounters? Understandable, i often forget to change back to my scholar set after Belka and wonder why i deal so little damage at abom and my reflects at lupi are only 18/5k instead of 20/6k.
Oh and i hate guardians who use Virtue of Justice, rather missing some might stacks than beeing unable to see a boss. Anet, please fix that blue fire!

I’m usually on my scholar set and switch to soldier set (runes, berserker armor) for condition dealing encounter, especially when one of those conditions is poison.
Anyway, why 0/30/0/30/10? I’m running 10/25/0/25/10 and find the damage output to be noticable higher while granting same amount of “support”. Just because of Pure of Voice for those who can’t afford a second set?
Don’t worry, we do all hate ourselves.
About how we would rework the dungeons, which isn’t as easy as most people may think. I’d not rework them at all except adjusting some loot issues.
Too bad Heavy Arah armor looks like absolute garbage on female characters.
Wazzawhat?
For humans and sylvari its the best armor set in the game.Spiky metal bikini’s? Who in their right mind would wear such a travesty?
Me >.>

[…] and my mesmer has x2 arah sets, zerker and rabbid. […]
I want a rabbid costume aswell!
a) Not new.
b) Inaccurate time display.
c) Too much useless graphics, slow loading times.
Balancing:
For every ranger/non zerker/condi damage in your team you get a special buff that gives your team +2000 Power to make up for lost DPS for not taking all warriors/mes
Great idea. You know that 5 Engis would mostlikely oneshot any boss when using grenade kit F skill?
It isn’t possible to create perfect profession balance unless they are all exactly the same. But by simply increasing the damage skill coefficient it would at least come much much closer to having some sort of balance. Warriors would still be a favorite but a necro wouldn’t deal just 1/3 of a warriors damage.
But dragon bash is amazing, who doesn’t want to spend 14000 gems to get a weapon claim ticket?
His hammer attack is actually two attacks. Shield Stance for example works well, Guardian Focus 5 too, Aegis… not at all.
dont remember to add dredges to fotm
Adding dredges is Always the answer!! u.u
No, add centaurs, corrupted, and something involving charged lodestones, watch the market fix lodestone prices.
NoNoNo! You didn’t get his point. NoNoNoNo!
Belka activation scene has to do with quite a few things.
Group should arrive at her together, better noone dies. Also if you walk too slow to the trigger point after she spawned nothing will happen. I always thought it had to do with the npc but then i experienced that running myself while the group stays with yissa at start is the safest method.
About 2-3 times as hard as a knights guardian with AH. My whirling wrath tends to go over 15k on fights like lupicus. Also with berserker equip you will deliver the exactly same amount of support, if not more due to increased damage.
I have no problems with most other dungeons, even SE is okay regarding gameplay (just those NONONO screams kitten my head) but fractals are just boring. Boss fights simply take too long and are no fun. Dredge takes too long. Spamp is boring as hell, even akitten ranging belka is more fun. Ice takes too long. Cliffside takes too long, archdiviner is probably the boss i’d fight last in this game duo to his invulnerability phases.
And another thing is that pugs are terribad, i found myself solo/duo’ing the last fractal runs i’ve done.
So: Weth, my glamorous idol, can you please sell me some spots at maw?
Ranger suck in PvE.
Im not a huge fan of this but..
/thread
..because anyone who says rangers are good in dungeon has absolutely no knowledge about dungeons and rangers.
They should add 1 or 2 extra dungeon requirements per daily, so I can truly get them by just playing. I shouldn’t feel forced to go stuff that I don’t like, which is how it is right now.
Yes! Funny thing is that im right now completing my monthly before my first daily this month.
Yeah I would really like to see a group melee him with 1 thief, 1 nekro, 1 ele, 1 ingi and 1 ranger…
Does anyone ever melee him without guardians?
I do. I’d rather die meleeing him without any projectile reflection than going ranged.
So, noone here doing fractals on a daily basis and willing to sell his spot?
I’ll pay for each pristine fractal relic i get, no matter if level 10 or 48. Level 48 currently fives me Level 12 reward, therefore i’d just pay same there until i reached 40’s (which is probably never going to happen
).
Because after doing a fractal run i always feel like quitting the game.
Hello,
paying 5g for a spot at maw at level 10+ fractals, once a day. 12g for Level 10 + Level 20 (when my mes reached that reward level).
Thanks.
How can you not survive 10 fractals if you’re that good at dungeons
Fractals are just boring as kitten.
Ascended does not give you a significant advantage.
Good point to come back to my original question: how can the difference between our damage output be 18% instead of 4%?
Yeah i’ve been talking about soloing. Either way when duo’in without much dps the pet is still bad because locusts will start chain attacking into the air.
The best at lupicus you can do is ranger is hoping your pet dies very, very qucikly.
For my lupicus solo necro attempts (got to 20% hp but then failed… too lazy to redo this) i used some vitality spec (my necro is not a serious character, just wanted to see how high my HP can go) with condition damage as secondary attribute. Two energy sigils of course and some random traits around 0/10/20/20/20. Berserker equipment and proper traits will work out much better i guess. What will make your lifeforce go away quickly is using deathshrod while dodging. From my experience, the DS doesnt cancel the dodge animation but the evade frames.
I really suck at playing necro, ask me about mesmer, warrior, guardian or ele and i’ll be able to give way better information.
About the phase 2 aoe: it is easily avoided by dodging back and foreward – if solo’ing. The more people are running around the higher is the chance that some late projectiles bash you about 2 seconds after your dodges.
You won’t get the debuff if you are invuln/dodge when his hand reaches the top of his head.
The grub spawn from phase 1→2 transition is always targeted on the closest person, even on npc’s.
Dodging the dome without stability is only possible if you are either not his target, are exactly in his circle when the dome appears or are out of ~600 range when the dome spawns. Otherwise the center of the dome will be placed on your current position, even while in dodgeroll.
The dome is also sometimes used on players who are standing still but are in ~300 range to him.
No
When he’s about to move in phase 3 and you permanently keep him immbobilized he will not attack anymore too. More stuff following
