What noone ever seems to think about is WA. GS will still be the better alternative as second set than another axe. Especially when it comes to solo’ing. Though, i tried out 30/25/0/0/15 now and have to say i’m like not impressed at all. 20/30/0/0/20 wins by far.

Why would warrior GS die? 100b will still offer better dps than axe autoattacks, WA is still a great evade + damage increase and it doesn’t loose its great might stacking ability to keep you on 25 Stacks of Might without relying too much on your party. Basically the only thing that changed is loosing heightened focus which isn’t as dramatic as you might think.
Oh by the way, neither haviz, any of my friends or me claimed a record on killing lupicus. We said we did it in 18 seconds, not that it’s a record.

Most gw2 players consider total wrong negative things with the word “elitist”.
I won’t call it easier in general, soloing it the legit way got so incredibly hard i sprent over 48 hours on it. In a 5 men group nothing changed at all, instead of taking any encounter down in 20 seconds it’s now 10 seconds. Also there is little to no use for an ele anymore since bringing encounters to a wall would probably take longer than just spiking them down.
Also i wouldn’t call strifes videos speedruns, they made videos to every dungeon on this game, not focusing on one specific and run it as long until no mistake happens. Their times are times you archieve after visiting that dungeon few times (with a competent party).
When it now comes to balancing reward i think theese times are a pretty good measure, firsttimers will get horrible reward first but after some runs in a core group it will get better. If you take pug times to balance the reward… i’d be happy because i’d probably get 5-10x more reward/time than before. 1.40h, we could do 4-path 4 runs in that time.
I had like 15 fps during those fights, plus my connection is – ask whoever you want.. – ultra crappy. If i had recorded with full screen i’d probably have had like 5 fps left which isn’t very playable. I’m currently at 6/8 professions lupicus solo, missing necromancer which i didn’t gear yet (and probably will never do) and ranger, which i did until few %hp left and then never had the chance to try again.

Edit: I don’t give much about the opinion of others, i mainly did those for me and for showing purposes for those who are interested in getting their time down a bit. I’ll probably soon make an explanation video oof how to control lupicus so that he uses the attacks you want him to use.
I accidently deleted all my youtube videos recently (thanks stupid mobile phone) and am currently redoing them now. Some attempts or solos can be found here! but those are currently just “well lets show how it can be done” and not “lets aim for a good time” ones.
Took almost 5 minutes longer than my thief solo, i wonder where all that vitality you had came from. Valkyries gear? For the phase 2 AoE you messed around extremely much, just shadowstep back, wait ~0.5 seconds when a red circle appears on your position, dodge once and then use IS to get back to him.
Anyway glad you did it and impressive quality! GJ.
3 steps to become efficient in dungeons.
1) Reroll Warrior.
2) Get full Berserker Gear.
3) Throw all ranged weapons away, learn to dodge.
I do already have a good bunch of players on my friendlist with who i enjoy doing runs, problem are our online times not always fitting together. I’m looking for a guild comparable to DS or NAME in gw1, not everyone has to set world records but everyone should be experienced and good in what they are doing.
Thanks for reminding me that this may sound a bit “elitist” and that may be true – but i don’t consider this word as negative as most people seem to. Elitists are people to who it is important to have smooth going runs, not kittens pointing out any minor mistake maken.

I tried out everything out of 30/25/0/0/15, 25/25/0/0/20, 20/30/0/0/20, and 20/25/0/10/15 and have to say… 25/25/0/0/20 and 20/30/0/0/20 feel the most comfprtable in solo’ing things. Finally sticked back to 20/30/0/0/20. The difference between 30/25/0/0/15 and 20/30/0/0/20 when using same rotation on afk’ing down a boss was so minor i couldn’t give a flying cupcake about and perma swiftness, fury and quicker adrenaline restore are simply too comfortable to give away, aswell as the option for bringing 100% Chance to Rally while Vengeance or Movement Skills break Immobilize in.
Aswell i’ve already hit wraithlord for over 50k on 20/30/0/0/20 and i’m not even having ascended trinkets which would increase my damage pretty much more than the build could.
10 Points in Tactics make you heavily relying on your group to catch up, which isn’t worth the minor improvement in group fights.
To answer the OP’s question: there is no “the berserker build”. Different variants may work out best in different content. While 20/25/0/10/15 may be the most effective in CoF farms it’d horribly loose when doing arah out of the famour 3w/1g/1m setup (which isn’t even best for arah).
I don’t even try that temporal content out, it would just bore me to hell since even molten facility was a faceroll solo.

I’m going to quote myself once now to clear up what i’m looking for and which requirements your guild has to fullfil that i might be interested in joining:

-Only skilled players in berserker gear who should be able to solo or at least duo the dungeons they do. I don’t want to have runs taking longer than my solos.
-Activity.
There is abolutely no situation in the whole game where you can’t melee.

This is a question that comes up a lot and because I love science I figured I’d take a crack at answering it.

X-BOX HUGE DISCLAIMER: This is not a reflection of real-world practices and I’ll get more into this below. In a real world situation these results can be massively distorted by the presence of Forceful GS, team-sustained Might, positioning, and many more things to boot. This is merely a test to answer which, under ideal scientific conditions, does more damage per second.
Because this is only a test of ideal, perfect vacuum conditions, I’ve taken my results from test dummies in the Mists (for cast times) and in Lion’s Arch (for DPS results) because while still not perfect, they’re the best I think we have for getting hard results unaffected by uncontrolled factors.
So, which hits more?
The first task was to test and see how long each took to completely cast, from starting windup to the final damaging strike.
For 100B, I had an average of 3.58 seconds cast time (surprisingly close to the tooltip figure);
For the Axe auto chain, I had an average of 3.29 seconds cast time.Now, for the total damage of each attack… in simple full Berzerker gear, all orange save for a single pink amulet, my tooltip in LA reads 4,881 for 100B and 3,926 for the Axe auto chain. However, based on my experiences as a Mes I really don’t trust the tooltips in this game (plus it was unclear whether the ‘final strike’ in 100b counted towards or separate from the eight strikes figure).
So, I tried testing out on target dummies in LA. As far as I know you cannot crit on dummies which makes collecting results much easier, however for the axe auto chain there isn’t an easy-to-read “total damage” bubble so I had to Fraps the footage and slow it way down to properly read the results.
On dummies:
100B’s total damage averaged at 7,292;
Axe auto chain total damage averaged at 5,366.Given the average cast times from before, we can now say that:
100B’s average DPS: 2,037 per second;
Axe auto chain’s average DPS: 1,631 per second.So, the Axe auto chain appears to do almost exactly 80% of the DPS for 100B.
ANOTHER HUGE DISCLAIMER: I cannot stress enough that this test does not reflect real-world practice. Real results depend on things like a good crit roll (though admittedly most of us are at ~100% crit chance anyway), how often you need to cancel the root, your Might stacks, Vuln stacks, and all manner of other things. In all honesty these tests are not a reliable substitute for a proper, authoritative combat tracker, and even then I don’t place that much value in tracker results themselves. Theorycraft has very clear limits and anyone who plays a game enough seriously can tell you this.
Two interesting things I discovered:
100B’s DPS is heavily-reliant on the bonus final strike, which appears to do double the damage of a regular 100B strike. In fact, it is so important to your overall DPS figure that if you don’t land that final strike for whatever reason, your actual DPS will go down by roughly a full fifth (from 7,292 total damage to about ~5,750, and from 2,037 DPS to approximately 1,620 DPS.
The third skill in the Axe chain, Triple Chop, appears to only roll once for the damage it’ll deal with each of the three hits. The real question this proposes is whether this applies to crits: will all three Triple Chop hits crit if the first crits, or do they roll individually. As this would be exceedingly difficult to test due to the chance-based nature of crits, I can only wonder.
You forget calculating in that the last 100b strike also has a higher acitvation time than previous strikes, that you can save roughly 0.3-0.5 seconds by finishing 100b with WA right when the last hit damage comes and that greatsword 100b hits more, therefore applies more vulnerability and also adds lots of mightstacks to yourself.

I usually worry about getting more infractions or even a forum ban because everything i won’t be able to say anything good about people playing a condition/toughness guardian or wrongbow-spamming ranger.

To myself i can bring 7 Level 80’s, all important ones with different berserker sets.
I’ve got experience in AC and Arah mainly but also know about CoE, SE and other common dungeons. Mainly doing Arah atm though.
I also bring unknown tactics up.

Engineers/Guardians out-dps’ing Warriors. Do i dream?
Guardian is the profession i play when we could use some projectile reflection. 10/25/0/25/10 and unless im not buffed to 25 Stacks Might, Fury and targets are set to burning and i can hold my aegis guardians damage looses so much against warriors. If all those criterias are met a guardian could do slightly more damage than an autoattack-spamming warrior.
Funny thing about rangers is that they are kind of forced to go into ranged fight because their melee weapons are broken as hell.
I tried using that ship for like 30 minutes, failed over aand over again.
Never attempted again so far, the normal way is just so much easier and faster.

(Side Note: A guardian solo’s that abomination in the time the ranger didn’t even get 5% away.)

What is that mesmerbuild that deals double ele damage (and still maintains 100% reflection uptime)? Because that would generally be warriors damage with mesmer utility.

Can be said for any other wvw player. In about 100 hours i spent in wvw i did only see two skilled players.
I didn’t play ranger for long but with greatsword #3, #4, swiftness and stability skipping was very easy.
I already did 1:05, sadly lupicus insisted on using attacks every few seconds in phase 3 so it worked out as 6:40. That whole fight becomes so luck-based when going for a good time.
Edit: You were refering to the ele time, i see. Can’t spam fiery rush there without going into the danger of dying.

It’s actually 70 hits.
In situations where fiery gs is usable, ele’s out-dps everything and everyone by just using #4 every 10 seconds.
I do phase 1 lupicus solo in ~1:30 with my ele once i got him to the wall. Sad thing about is that i would only need 30 seconds with my warrior (fgs) due to superior self-buffing.
My ele rush ticks for~700 damage, my warrior for ~1-6k, bit unfair.
i play both, and theres no contest a dps meter isnt even required. ele 25/20/0/25/0 top dps by far in the game and it has as more grp healing than an altruistic guard. dont be a sad panda because you rolled a war cause a forum said its the best dps lol
Show me an elementalist lupicus solo without fgs in less than 7 minutes. Then i believe you.
And even if you could, warriors would still increase party’s damage output much more through banners and fgj than an elementalist ever could.
I can tank 10+ level 80 enemies at the same time on my level 1 ranger.
Warriors out-dps thor eles by simply using 7-0. They don’t even have to attack.
I think everything has been answered here, i really don’t get your point.
