Maybe you could ride Moa birds and joust with Grenth as he rides a risen Dolyak. I’M LOOKING AT YOU, HROUDA. MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
YES, MAKE THIS HAPPEN ROBERT, PLEASE!
@whoever said that a 30min’ish run would be speed: after doing a 28 minute casual now whith heavily lacking dps and a group which wasn’t on teamspeak i can say: no, 30 minutes is a pretty realistic time as long as everyone is familiar with the dungeon, able to skip trash first try and at least maintains some quite well dps.
@lehova: there are really some trash groups in arah path 4 that i’d rather fight than skip. Fighting trash gets fun when it is hard but done fast. LoS the 10 risen trashmobs before melandru and fight them all at one – you’ll see what i mean.
@Strife: Melandru has attacks? Are you serious? Nice that you found a melee range safespot, makes this fight more… eh, you know what i mean.
Whole Arah Path 4 except Lupicus and Simin. The Trash is fun to fight (least with a good party setup) but the bosses are boring as hell.
I have already hit for multiple millions of damage on my mesmer. The combo was like: Blurred Frenzy, Autoattacks, Blurred Frenzy, Mind Wrack, Autoattacks, Blurred Frenzy………
Isn’t that a bit stupid? I mean i would se a slight sense if it was a channel like 100b/blurred frenzy, but just adding the damage done by each skill together is senseless.
So, my highest Blurred Frenzy has hit for 12k damage, with 25 Stacks Might and a few vulnerability Stacks on my oppenent.
Path 1 is so incredibly easy… after few month of not beeing in AC my last run was a 7 minute duo with wrong traits.
5 Berserker’s who are all able to dodge. Perfect would be a setup around 2 warriors, 1 Mesmer, 1 Guardian. Last spot is optional then where an ele or another warrior would be great.
12 Minutes and 30 seconds:

Sadly wasn’t able to kill the grub either and missed one Wall of Reflection on his rapidfire. Also i’ve been using wrong traits and only ruby orbs instead of scholar runes.
So, a flawless run would end up below 10 minutes.
Why not just drop precursors for new players when we activate our Elite skill: Cursor Burst. We burst into butterflies, they get precursors. Clearly a win-win. Oh and you can’t stop the Elite from activating.
That’d be too OP, even transforming into a single butterfly would make us even stronger.
Jeokes aside: Anet, please learn to balance ._.
When you hit yourself for 5k when you use a skill its pretty self explanatory.
When you are stupid enough to hit yourself for 5k you deserve it.
Path 4 is too long, but actually the easiest of all arah paths…
I usually do similiar thing with guardian (wor+rf) but haven’t thought about that.
As long as you stay in the Wall there is no need to use RF, or does that make more projectiles beeing reflected?
In PvE i’d say berserker, maybe with soldier runes (nice support) and mayyybe with a few knights trinkets. When using AH and beeing able to dodge, everything else is kind of a waste of dps imo.
To guarantee I made it to phase 3.
I did not expect the attempt to go so well I was still trying to learn phase 3.
I wanted to make sure I had enough hp/toughness to prevent being gibbed from the AoE projectile barrage.
If I ever do it again I’ll probably do something like 30 air 20 arcane 20 water with enough pvt gear to get 14k hp.
I’ve “almost” (failed at 0,000000001% lol) done it with full berserker gear (ruby orbs instead of scholars), Berserker Trinkets and 0/25/0/15/30. The heal of Evasive Arcania and Water 15 are nice, although not needed.
Weth has probably done more Dungeon Solo’s than anyone else.
I’ve done AC all paths (path 2 except boss), CM Path 1 and Arah Path 2 and 3. Also AC Story and CoF Story, but those don’t really count.
Actually the hardest part of GL is sucessfully leaving the fight instead of finishing him off…
Or you kill the Hunter first to get rid of the poison field.
Just kill burrows so fast that almost no graveling spawn.
Pretty sure that part can be done in ~10 seconds from start to end. In that time no graveling should have the chance to even get to hodgins.
I keep on trying until i make it.
I wish more pugs would do that instead of ragequitting at the 4th fail.
Probanly people would also learn that they are responsable for their surviving instead of saying “you group suck, cant even run closed so ‘we’ die!”.
Just play warrior, go where others go and spam skill 1. Congratz on you first successfull CoF run.
I’d be happy if i had pugs who are using melee weapons. In general joining 3 War 1 Guardian teams as Mesmer and beeing the only melee then. The best thing getting the teams attention and make them follow your instructions is to show them what to do. Killing the Hunter so he won’t shoot the poison field anymore and then meleeing the Crusher dow. Just run through yourself to mage crusher (important: using the legit way) and if people can’t do same, kill the Mage Crusher wuickly. If this did not bring you pug’s attention, go on and melee Lupicus. Your team will probably die so you have to finish him off yourself. At least the endboss should go well then, when you tell them to stand out as long as you need to grab all aggro.
Guardian. Protection+Aegis ftw. Even if an addition warrior would even be better.
You just have a 20% chance to rally. Can make it 100% though with a trait – which triggers when you kill the enemie which downed you.
I’m using 20/30/0/0/20, greatsword with force/undead slaying sigil and exotic/asended berserker armor with scholar runes. 40k is not very much on Hunter/Mage Crusher/Deadeyes/other low armor mobs, i’ve already had 55k 100b on Hunter and a 28k Whirlwind Attack, neither with 25 Might nor with 25 vulnerability stacks. WA will mostly hit with 4 hits when you stand in max melee range away from your target and WA through it.
Lightning Hammer Ele (2,7 seconds AA Chain) strikes for 8k+ 8k+ 14k+ with ~20 might and almost no vulnerability. And when my 100b strikes for 40k with self-given might only, WA for 20k and Eviscerate for well over 15k, that seems to end ip as more than 8k dps, even with less strong autoattacks between. The targets armor is the matter i ythink. While 100b does 50k+ on Wraithlord Hunter/Mage Crusher, 20k is already much at Lupicus.
You’re missing a trait (2nd tree, none is chosen there) and also using Ruby Orbs and Sigil of Force is suboptimal. A weapon skill rotation has nothing to do with a build imo, too.
Also i highly doubt that 20/25/0/10/15 is the best way to go unless you really always have 5+ boons on you which will only happen with a guardian/mesmer/ele in your group.
Also an ele using a lightning hammer would kinda laugh about 8k dps, even without many might stacks. I somehow can’t believe that warriors should only be able to pull of 8k dps. Whatever the slave driver may have to do with this.

WE WANT DUST!
NoNoNo.
WE WANT DUSK!
Remove conditiondamage and defensive gear out of PvE.
It has it’s place in PvP but just makes people complain about “things beeing too hard, can’t deal enough damage”.
Warriors are very useful everywhere, one guardian is very useful almost everywhere and one mesmer is useful almost everywhere. Situational Eles are very useful. Thieves are nice too but don’t bring much to the party in fights. Rangers, Engineers and Necros just suck. I’d rather go with an open spot than taking a ranger, anytime, everywhere.
You’d rather 4-man a dungeon than take a ranger? Do you think they actually have a net negative effect on the group?
Yes they do, or at least their pet does.
make that 3450 and arah path 3 which is 30 minutes+
It’s possible to duo that path in less than 30 minutes. If you need 30 minutes in a group, sorry but you’re bad.
How is a full armor set 3450 tokens? Do you want all available weapons aswell?
(edited by Dub.1273)
Arah is like made for thieves. No profession is easier to play in arah than thief.
Berserker equipment is the best way to go, AC has a DPS check to tell everyone from start so they don’t buy worse equip and waste money.
Also Anet has implemented a great example of how unbalanced professions into the first dungeon. Good thing imo.
It’d be insane to see more than 4 professions viable in PvE.
15-20 minutes/path (only ding path 1 and 2) for a good team, 1800 tokens (?) to get.
1 run is 69 tokens so you need 27 runs for a full set. 27 runs will take about 8 hours.
If you feel like screwing your own damage to survive nothing more, go knights.
Thief, Shadow Refuge + Fury 100b out of nothing can let huge groups wipe.
Many other classes can provide similar levels of DPS and support, but they require more effort which means more risk to the group that the player might be bad.
Which ones? I’d like to know how any other profession can buff as much as a warrior while still dealing good damage.
If the mesmer would run a staff to start with chaos storm, which also applies 0-25 stacks of vulnerability, and somebody uses an explosion finisher (no clue where it could come from tbh) your group would have more than 3 boons. Mesmers also can give self-boons to the party which would be retailiation, protection, regeneration, vigor and aegis.
Of course those boons will end quickly but remember, slave driver or endboss aren’t much more than trashmobs.
It’s depending on the dungeon. In AC you’d need 3 warriors to put out as much damage as one single ele, in CoF it’s the opposite.
At some encounters 3 Warriors + 1 Mes + 1 Ele will be more effective than 4 Warriors 1 Mesmer, but for that some requirements must be met. Partly also Thieves top warriors damage but the good thing about warriors is that the team does not have to communicate and everyone can just click his Skills on recharge.
