thats me !! :-D, so epic. So Spoj, is there a spot that i can stand on without getting burned to death? I used to guardian leap which fumbled midleap for some reason which caused me to end up in that hole so I have no leap while in that hole of epic fail.

:-\ My experience is the polar opposite, I tell my pugs that we are skipping every single mob and they tell me “Wow I have never ran a dungeon this fast before” or “Wow I never knew you can just avoid everything in this path.”

I think thief really shines in a few fractals
1: Cliffside(the one with the giant) They bring blinds for the bodyseal so you can stand in the middle without wiping. They can use shadow trap for the double arms seals to make it go extremely quick( http://www.twitch.tv/eco_r_i/c/5038020 ). Mesmers are better at the double arms but they suck everywhere else that it is not worth bringing them at the moment.
2: Dredge, you can literally avoid every single dredge in the beginning up to the clown car by stealthing.
3: Ascalon fractal you can stealth straight to dulfy, icebow burst her down without ever killing any vets. Past that you can literally stealth to the middle arena. Usually in the arena, you kill 2groups then you stealth again to make a bee line to the next spot to kill the 2nd group.
4: Thaumanova, They can do solo shenanigans in the turret room(Pretty hard to pull off).
5: Harpy fractal, if your group is good at jumping puzzles you can stealth all of that.

TL:DR thief is really amazing in organized groups and pretty decent in pugs where blinds shine since most pugs do fractals with full clear mentality.

Hi guys I am a total mesmer noob, I want to try to attempt a trio record with my guild and was thinking about using mes ele ele for se p1. I was wondering how good are 2 sword phantasms in dps for 10/30second fight scenarios?))

Fun facts: Froggen from league of Legends use standard line casting where as every other pro uses smart cast or that other method where you see the range indicator as long as you are holding down on a key. Anyways the guy uses an inefficient way of playing the game, is still rated as one of the best midliners in the world. There is also this other pro that uses a trackball instead of a mouse.

I actually feel for the most part 5 man dungeons or 5man fotm 50 done in the most optimal way requires very little player skill. Player skill is a bit subjective so I will define what I think is “skill” and what is not. First being able to speed run is not very skillful. Memorizing encounters and knowing what skills to use can be taught easily. I think coming up with the strategies to make these encounters trivial is skillful theory crafting but anyone who just copies the strategy are not skillful. Berserker gear/traits actually makes dungeon/fotm trivial. In most dungeons, the general strategy at the moment is run to boss, stack 25might, glyph of storm(25 vuln) and icebow 5/4/3 boss, rinse and repeat. The DPS output of a full berserker team is so high that a boss will usually not do anything before it dies.

So last night, I was pugging with 2 of my guildies, with an ad that said “dungeon tour, zerkers only.” So this Necro joined and my first thought was “oh great this is going to be interesting” in a bad way. Well needless to say I was completely wrong! This Necro knew his kitten and we were thoroughly impressed. The guardian for our group deee-_-rped in arah and kept getting revealed but I managed to restealth him in arah p1 and things went ok. We were blazing through the tour pretty quick, 10/10 good pug experience.

grats i did mine today as well and its possible without defensive utilities for phase 2 and 3.

Tactics line gives you so much vitality you shouldn’t need knights gear. Usually when I play PS warrior, I intentionally face tank a few hits just to conserve my stamina bar or finish that hundred blades animation and since I am using strength rune, I don’t really need to maintain >90% hp.

This one time I asked a devoted christian whether I was going to hell because I said I don’t believe in Jesus being the son of god, and he said “yes”. My take away from it was you just can’t convince people out of certain things. Skipping vs Fighting is like arguing atheistism vs religion.

Reward in the sense of full clear. Reward in the sense of doing things different. Reward in mowing mobs down and feeling like a baws.

Reward is also subjective just saying.

How come TA is so high up there hayashi? The path for pugs is a nightmare because of blossoms and even with a organized group, it takes about 8-9minutes to complete where as AC p1 and CoF p1 takes less time and generally easier for pugs.

CM p1 bomb event is also another good example of stealthing as a skillful activity.

Stealth skipping coe Laser is fun. It is a time pressure event. Some one has to do Spire’s job the right way. I RP how I want as thief. Swift as a deer. Quiet as a shadow. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Quick as a snake. Calm as still water.

From other games that I have played that uses a rating system, trolling a person’s rating is rare and on average will not severely impact a person’s true rating. If you are a nice person, more people will upvote you than trolls downvoting you.

I run melee berserker thief in pug fotm 50s.

Fun fact: more teams wiped to elite mobs in the trio tourney than at lupi.

Lupi easier than elite mobs, obviously deserves a buff.

anet watched the trio tourney and was like “no team wiped at lupi?! time for a stealth buff”

Another solution could be cover the entire room with the arah p1 jotun fire ring spell. If you try to wall lupi, you ded!

Making lupi stationary will be even more exploity than you think

if they add the kick to phase 3 with a stationary lupi, it will fix everything!

Personally I think using icebow is just as bad as walling lupi and using a wor on a wall. If you think about it, icebow melts all the bosses so quick that it trivializes the encounter just like WoR. Anyways since icebow and lupi wall wor are the path of least resistance I will continue to use/“exploit” them until Anet does something about it.

I actually thought you and Brazil handled the troll very well. Brazil made it into a fun moment. I am sure a lot of players watching wouldn’t see that as something negative. The whole point of trolling is to induce a negative emotion/reaction, so if anything their troll failed.

I used to sell for 3g and still had to wait for 10+mins for it to fill, combine with the chance of getting kicked, they really sealed the deal for me to never sell again.

NA Here can play Thief, Warrior, Guardian.

If they implement lucrative daily reward chests to doing these high level zones, I can honestly see myself farming them. For me personally the problem at the moment is I am forced to stay in Silverwaste because it yields the best(?) reward compared dry top/cursed shore. If the daily reward forces people to move to other maps I can see that being fun. Silverwaste atm is like the old CoF p1 farm days.

People don’t do FOTM because dungeon rewards are better even though I would say most people will agree that FOTM is more fun. Now what if open world has better and more consistent gold reward than dungeons, will you stop playing dungeons because of “kittenty dungeon rewards.”?

The old system was very flawed mainly because teams had 100%control over the path they wanted. The current system is too random and it does not taken into account the strength and weakness of each team. I feel a middle ground will spice things up. Maybe banning 4/9 is too much. Maybe in a best out of 5, each team can ban 1 map to eliminate some RNG that could go against their favor. My team did a mock run using the SC vs qT match and we immediately identified what they were good/bad at and what we were good/bad at. Now if you look at the opposite side of the spectrum, playing a random path where I know we are 99% sure to lose is not fun either.

Most hated meta build: Ranger sword.(Unable to control character)
Most hated nonmeta build: dual pistol thiefs(Literally worthless)
Most hated meta build in meta comp: banner warrior(Banner kitten)

I would like to offer a suggestion too. What do you think about in a best out of 5, you roll 9 maps, each team gets to ban 2 of the maps and then the teams pick the remaining 5 maps to play. Coin toss for deciding first pick/ban in any order. I feel this allows teams to play maps that they feel are to their advantage and remove ones that they are not confident in. It also allows for a scouting meta game where teams can watch other teams and see what they are weak at.

Updated the spreadsheet. If you bet and no one bets against you AND you lose, you pay the house… which is me. If you win, you get your money back.

You shouldn’t take money from people until they have someone to bet against, otherwise they risk losing gold and have nothing to gain even if they win.

The house always has the advantage :P but I get what you mean. If I can afford it, I will bet against them.

Surely a casual PvX guild vs a hardcore dungeon guild is a safe bet for you ;-)

focus on how i do the trashruns without consumable help, all the fights are outdated so ignore those. Also the giant mob with the elite hunter right before Lupi, if you hit them while running pass, they will not teleport to you to the room with the blind turrets.

not as much as I would like, but we have been practicing a decent amount. We will be running some unconventional comps/builds that will raise some eyebrows(dead serious here)
