The auto target will automatically attack the closest target if you have no target selected. Maybe this is what’s happening to you? If not maybe try turning the stop auto attacking when you deselect a target?.

For gen play at mid lvls traits make little difference anyway, it is disappointing you have to pay to change them – it was a breath of fresh air that in gw1 you didn’t have to. Still I doubt ANet think its important, tbh I get the destinct impression we are supposed to be greatfull to be allowed to buy the game and play at all, perhaps not paying a subscription has its down side – they already have your money.

How? Even if we paid for a monthly sub they would still fix more important issues in the game then adding stuff like build templates. They have a limited amount of resources they can spend on each aspect of the game and they are all currently busy working on the things that are coming in 2013 which are already in development. Do you think they would just stop what they’re doing to add every suggestion they get to the game just because we pay a sub? Nope, it’d work the same way regardless

Ascended gear at the TP pls

Seriously all of you stop crying they’ve said when they roll out more ascended gear it’ll be available from other aspects of the game, we have FoTM for some, dailies for others, WvW will get some and i’m sure crafting will to. It is to encourage you to play every part of the game and I think it’s a good idea.
All those saying “It’s not pay to win because exotics was on TP”.. Yeah and exotics took a day if that to make, there is a bit of a difference between ascended and exotics. Ascended are suppose to be harder to get, they’re suppose to be the jump between exotic and legendary as exotics was way too easy to get. I agree with legendary being on TP is bullkitten though and hopefully when they release ascended weapons they’ll remove them from the TP unless they want to mess their game up themselves.

This is a good idea, i’d also suggest adding an automatic message like WoW had when people whisper you. So when you whisper someone who is afk you are told that they are afk instead of wondering if they’re afk or just ignoring you

But as I said there, it’s something that they are already aware of and have said that it’s somthing that they want to do, but it wont be done untill further down the line when more important issues are worked on

They are re-adding item preview in the patch coming January 28th.
As for dueling, Custom arenas are coming something this year which allows you to rent a SPvP server and play however you want, yes this includes 1v1 fights.

If you did abit of research you would find that there are already 2 ways of doing this in the game. Firstly, to hide all UI simply press Ctrl Shift and H . I also remember reading somewhere there was a way to take a screenshot which hides your UI on the picture without you having to manually do it, but i’m not sure if this actually works or how to do it

Why can nobody in MMO’s anymore put in any kind of effort for rewards. They are priced that high for a reason, they are the “legendary” armor, the “hardest” set to get. It is done that way so you don’t see hundreds of players running around in it like you saw with CoF back towards release. I’m a casual player, I have played the game for 708 hours since release and I’ve got myself a full T3 set and 170g left over (I admit I got lucky and got a precursor which I sold), but that was after I brought my T3 and spent around 35g on buying enough gems to purchase 3 more character slots and no I don’t play the TP or anything like that.

As for the stats, they are not designed to have the best stats, they are for looks, they are the some of the best armor looks in the game and that’s why they cost so much, not because of their stats.

Besides it’s too late to change them now as a lot of people have already spent near 120g getting their set, so for Anet to turn around now and lower the price isn’t fair on the people that’s already brought it for a higher price.

If you want the best looking rewards, be prepared to work for them! I’m not trying to be mean, but can you not see that some things are suppose to be worked for? I farmed the money for T3, I didn’t moan about it, I got on with it and felt so much more enjoyment and reward when I reached enough money to purchase it.

Death penalty (aka broken armor)

I don’t think we really need anything like that in GW2. It worked well in GW1 because it would reset every time you went back into a city and there was no repairing in GW1. However, unless they removed repairing in GW2 and had it on a timer, it has no place.

There are more then enough npc’s that allow you to repair your gear throughout the game there is no excuse to ever actually get broken armor. As for ress orbs again there is really no need for them. If Anet are removing the ability to res at a WP during combat, allowing people to get high amounts of res orbs easily would completely go against what they’re doing as people would just farm res orbs just so they can get back up when they die in dungeons.

LOTRO has this: characters have an “anonymous” toggle which, among other things, controls whether other players can inspect them or not.

But then people would say “Allow inspects or no invite” wouldn’t really solve the problem of people checking to get the best players

While this would be a nice idea, it’ll never work good enough to actually be in game. They would have 2 ways to do this, make the sheath just sit on the characters back without the sword being placed in it, which would be horrible and i’d rather not use it then, or to create a sheath for every GS shape in the game, which would take up alot of time and would require adding a lot of new back items into the game. They would also have to design it so that the GS is placed in the sheath when not in use, which they most likely wouldn’t do as we already have clipping on almost every armor and weapon in the game currently.

FWIW, as a primarily solo player I nevertheless agree with those who say that dungeons should be teamwork oriented.

I do, however, despair of ever finding groups for every dungeon who are going to be willing to go through “slowly” while I experience the story/lore. (I tend to play solo because I understand that not everyone wants to play “my” way and I don’t want to inconvenience them.)

Full disclosure: I have not yet made any attempt at all to join a dungeon (only recently hit 80) so my fears may be unjustified.

If by “slowly” you mean watching all of the cutscenes ect it’s really not an issue. Once you’re inside just watch the cutscene and even if others don’t like it, it’ll still be quicker for them then to kick you and find another member, so most just let you watch the cutscene as they don’t take too long anyway. It is harder to get a group that don’t skip every add that is possible though, but it is possible to get a group that kills everything.

UI idea for combat

Having the health bar down the side would be a better suggestion then the first one, but you’re also missing an endurance bar which would need to be changed too.

While I agree this would make the UI easier to see, it would aslo make it harder to see the combat. The current UI is completely out of the way of combat as I don’t think i’ve ever had combat as close to the UI before, this allows you to see everything and only have to look down at your skill bar when you need to.

I personally only look at the UI to see my health, otherwise I use keybinds for all 10 spells. This allows me to constantly see everything around me, if you use the UI you’re suggesting people may find it harder to see aoe circles, mobs might get “lost” behind the skills an asura for example may be hard to see if positioned in an awkward place. It would also make turning the camera around much harder as you’d have to make sure that you’re not currently hovering over any skills before right or left clicking to drag the camera around, which isn’t going to go down well as I already see loads of people mobing about camera moving and deselecting targets ect.

Another issue would be ground targeting. If you’re trying to place a quick ground target close to you, you may end up pressing one of the skills while in the heat of combat which may completly change the battle for the worse. Again, this would make combat slower and harder to play with

UI idea for combat

While I think this could be a good idea (It doesn’t affect me, but I see where you’re coming from), I doubt anything like this will happen. Anet have stated that the UI is designed in a way to have as little UI on the screen as possible. They want their players to play the game, to see the action in front of them instead of playing the UI with a screen filled with UI all over the place covering half of the fight infront of you.

As for the red health on your character, I disagree with that part and it would completely destroy the idea of collecting dyes in the game to colour your character how you want to. This would force everyone to bascially have red armor in combat which wouldn’t be good.

It always makes me question why whenever I see these types of suggestions. Why a warrior would like to run around wearing cloth robes smacking peoples faces in is really beyound me.

In my opinion these ideas are horrible and i’ll state why. First it goes against any lore behind characters, warriors and guardians wear heavy armor becasue in lore they are the front liners, the ones taking the beating while fighting up close. If a warrior went head to head with another warrior wearing nothing but cloth robes he would be slaughtered, they where the armor for a reason. A class like a theif wears leather armor because they are also close combat, but they need to be flexable in order to avoid damage and strike quickly. How can a tiny asura thief jump over a norns head wearing heavy armor? They can’t. It would weigh them down too much and make would remove the quick fast strike burst game style that thiefs have, lore wise anyway.
Yes some may say “This is a game not real life”, but the game has lore. Hey why not make every class the same so nobody can moan about anything.

Furthermore, it would affect WvW slightly, while you can tell what class a player is by their buffs, you want to be able to see from a distance who is in the group. If you saw 3 players runing up with a GS and robes it could be either a warrior, guardian, ranger, mesmer and ele. All 4 of those clases could look identical and that would be horrible.
There is a reason why almost every game has different armor types for different professions and while Anet want to break away from common games, I highly doubt this ever happening.

I fail to see how the idea would work either way though, if they are not seperate then the dungeon scales depending on how many people join, so if 30 people join but 10 of them are only doing the jumping puzzles then the mobs will be scaled for 30 people, but only fighting 20 which might make them too hard to kill. On the other hand, If the puzzles are seperate to the I don’t see how this will be any different from the areas that are already in the game.

The best way to prevent this is for areana net to under cut them. Make it so that you can buy items and gold from the company for so cheap that the gold sellers cant afford to compete.

and then Anet also reduces the amount of money they get from customers so much that it would have an impact on the game. Even if Anet sold their gem store items at a stupidly low price, gold farmers will always under cut them. I don’t know much about how bots work, but I doubt it’s too a lot of work and therefore even if they get a couple of pound for each hours farming, that’s still better then nothing.

You said in point 2 to include stuff like resource nodes and jumping puzzles in these “dungeons” that would force anyone who may like doing dungeons into doing the jumping puzzles. Unless you’re saying this “dungeon” is completely the same as any other area in the game in which you can just freely explore and then what would be the point in them? True for some of the temples… but martching stats are an issue when trying to get karma armors… example…. Medium armor from arah doesnt match… u have to get the hat from balthazar and boots from grenth to have matching stats… never did unstand the logic of that.

I can only assume it was designed that way to make people visit the different temples to get the full set instead of just doing the easiest temple and never do them again

I don’t really see exotics being too hard to obtain, even if you’re going for the armor of the gods the hardest part is getting to the npc’s that sell the armor. As for the karma you can get that before you even get to lvl 80 if you do the daily every day you play with the monthly. If you don’t care what exotic armor looks you get, you can spend 15-20g (I think around there) to buy a full set or farm dungeons for a few days and get the dungeon exotics.

As for adding more reason for players to go back, all you have to do is read any Anet blog this year to see that is one of the big things they’re looking at in 2013 and they have already confirmed they’re adding more rewards to orr and looking at the temple fights to make them more rewarding for players to revisit them.

In game timer/Event timer

There are several websites that show the dragon timers, there is even an app for iOS and Android I believe that lets you see the timers from your phone. I don’t really think it needs to be add to the game as without it, it allows players to come across the events themselves instead of getting a timer saying “Claw of Jormag has just spawned” then anyone who didn’t know about it before, does now. This will take away alot of the exploration to come across the events instead of being directed to them.

The best weapon against bots is a good reporting system and one where users get some feedback.
For example if you report a load of botters what happens to them? I don’t know if they are banned or even investigated, so then you are less likely to continue to report them when you see them.
Let us know what your doing Anet, it will give us faith that something is being done.

That’s because so many bots get banned and they get banned in waves, I doubt anet have the time or would even want to list every single bot they have ever baned including names, when they were banned and why. That would just be a waste of time for everyone.

Some dungeons have great potential in their areas, some even have half-made jumping puzzles. It’s a shame having them only for small parties.

There’s an example of a small area that had a single big meta-event: Soughsun cove. That could be done for dungeons.

  1. Give Southsun cove a “dungeon” version: You enter by talking to the NPC with the boat icon. The armor would be the Consortium set.
  2. Give all dungeons a “free roam” version: You enter by talking to the NPC after you complete story and all explorables. The area is shared between players, has a single meta-event that repeats very infrequently and never at the same time as other dungeons, and has other stuff like resource nodes and jumping puzzles Suthsun Cove has, but doesn’t count for world exploration.

And the difference between this “dungeon” and a normal map in the world is what? It will work the same, maybe have higher hp mobs which do more damage, that really isn’t going to draw hundreds of people into this “dungeon” when they can simply go somewhere else and do the same thing.

Then you would also get people moaning “Oh I don’t like jumping puzzles why are you forcing them on players that like to run dungeons!” and so on.

Can I assume that you know the different between a set of armor that every class has access to one for their race and content that would take too long to add 5 differnent versions for each of the classes.

Can I also assume that you know the difference between saying “You can’t wear that armor beacsue it isn’t for your class” and “Sorry, but you can’t run that new dungeon we’ve spent months creating, because you’re one of the 4 classes that have no possible way of getting into”.

Professions can only wear light, medium or heavy armor, if they are not the right class then they are locked out of it. Your point on this subject is very clear, your against race specific dungeons, other than that I assume you must be lazy to not want added content, please use spellcheck before posting also, it wounds me.

Did I once say I didn’t want added content? The fact that content would be limited to a specific race instead of the whole community isn’t a good idea. I’ve already said that they should add more content with more race spacific lore, but they have to be accessible to everyone.
Again, you’re argument with armor is a completely invalid point, every profession has access to their own armor. You’re right in saying if you’re a warrior you’re locked to only using that armor, but there is heavy armor. If Anet add a dungeon only for charr, every other race would have no new content unless Anet add a new dungeon for all 5 races.
How can you compare something that everyone has access to their own version of it (Every class gets their own armor), to something that only 1/5 races would be able to get.

While bigger dungeons is a nice idea i fail to see how this would make an impact to the game and stand out and be better then the current dungeons. The reason dungeons are 5 man is becasue they can allow boss machanics (while the older dungeons a lot of bosses lack any real machins anyway) for all 5 players. Now if you allow 30 players on a single boss fight (and this is why so many DE’s and world bosses are boring and unchallenging) anet wouldn’t be able to make machanics for x amount of players. So 5 out of 30 players will have something to do, the other 25 players would be standing around doing nothing but zerging down the boss. This will make it extremely boring. Yes the boss would scale depending how many players are there, but all that will do is increase the boss health and damage it’ll still be a zerg aslong.

I guess my initial impulse for this idea was it would be a way to allow players to get into dungeons without having to find a group first. It’s probably a bad idea though, that’s why I wanted feedback.

But GW2 already has your idea in the game with places like orr temples, just nobody does them at the moment, since in this next patch they’re adding more rewards to orr and chaning afew of the temple bosses to make them more interesting and other little changes to orr maybe we will see more people go there and do them more often, because they can be much better then what they currently are

Around 21 mins he is asked about saving builds and he replies it’s not something they’re working on but he can see them adding it further down the line. Not confirmed, but as he said they can them building it. there are also others but i’m not going to search for every interview it’s asked on.

You have to do 30 of them I believe, and no if you’ve already done it before the monthly you can redo them and they count, but you can’t keep repeating the same one on your character, I have not tried doing the same one a few days later, but i’m assuming it uses some kind of lockout so you can’t do it once it’s been counted towards the monthly. I’m not 100% sure though, I just know if you’ve done it sometime in the past, then you can redo it this month and it counts. I just did the 3 LA ones on all my different characters

I must strongly disagree. First of all dyes in GW1 were for example on use only. You allied it on PART of armor and it was gone. Now when it’s character bound it’s much more fair. I can experiment with dyes all i want. If they were to became account bound dyes would loose its’ value and game will loose one of gold sinks.

Yes GW1 dyes were on use, however how many different colours did GW1 have, around 10 was it?? What was the highest prices dye. black dye which was what, near 10kish? Can’t remember it’s been a while now. Now compare that to the number of different colours there are in GW2, compare it to the price of dyes in GW2, I think there is just a slight difference between the two, don’t you?

However, I agree with both sides. It would be nice for Anet to come up with a way to make dyes be used on more then one character, but they also need to keep the rareness of certain dyes that do cost afew gold, as if someone buys it on all 5 characters that’s upto 20g ish just off dyes for one person.

An idea would be to have a limit of how many colours you can have as favourites and make them account bound?

More of a Straight Path in GW2 world?

I have to disagree here. A good portion of the game is about exploration, and having the players stick to the beaten path would greatly take away from not only that, but the game as whole. As it stands now, GW2 encourages you to search and wander. If you want to just find the leveling areas, the Scouts are there.

Well yeah your right, I agree with what you said. I also hate when there are games that put invisible walls and all that <— That is kitten awful and really takes out a chunk of the game play in my opinion.

But what I mean is, That when your leveling you keep going along and more far away (and closer to the next zone/area of that level area).

Most areas already do this, if you go into the lower level areas, the highest lvl heart quest will normally be near a portal towards the next zone which is the next lvl. For example, in queensdale the last heart quest is down in the swamp where the portal is that takes you to kessex hills which is the next lvl area.

Add LFG interface or chat channel please

So why is it exactly, that the developers do not have a standing thread on this topic. One explaining their side of the story and what they will or will not do about it? Is the point of this forum not to allow interaction between gamers and developers?.. yet… there is not one developer willing to comment on this??? If they are in fact working on an LFG system, or some other viable option; then, i don’t think it should be a big surprise. Thousands of “GW2 LFG?” threads online, but no actual answers. (other than 3rd party options of course). There are also btw, no “I love how there is no LFG system in GW2, what a great idea!” threads… at all…
I can tell you, i know of at least one entire, active WOW guild that left wow in order to try gw2 together… and went back thanks to there being no LFG or dungeon finder option. Why did they care?.. because they are not all online, at all times. So, being involved in a guild isn’t enough. Maybe the game community is better off without it. Maybe people are better off without the need to buy smartphones and enormous tv’s and e-readers; but, once the technology is out there, you cant stop it. You can’t rewind time and tell your customers they are better off without it.
I used to play wow, and I love Guild Wars. I would love to see it last long enough to develop the same type of following. Please, for the love of god, stop turning people away with such an easily fixed problem.

I’m not being funny but go and watch any recent interview, better still go and read the blog on the gw2.com website about the months ahead in 2013 and you will easily see they have confirmed that they are working on a LFG system and it is currently being developed.

Armor changes?

That would just go against any lore of all 8 professions. Seeing a mage running around in heavy armor? watching a thief jump over peoples head in armor that would most likely weigh more then the character itself? Watching a warrior charge into the front lines of battle and zerg down mobs in nothing but a woolen robe? No thank you. There are restrictions for a reason, it’s the same in every game and it’s never likely to change.

You have a personal story, lvl 1-30 (even some after 30) is ALL about your race and everyone has their own. To add content to any game that isn’t even designed for the whole playerbase is a complete step in the wrong direction. The purpose of GW2, being “Play the game however you want”, isn’t going to work if you have to play a certain class in order to do certain content. That would be like adding a new dungeon that you can only access if you’re under lvl 80. It would force players into having other characters that they might not want just to be able to do said content. What about if someone has 5 characters already, but none of them was asura and anet decided to release content that only asura can do. Either he never does that content, he deletes a character just to do that content or they have to spend money to buy a extra character slot so they can make an asura.

Yeah they definitely need to come up with some protection against being so easily kicked at the end of dungeons for no reason at all other then “because they can”. They knew this sort of thing was going to happen the second they dungeons to get the rewards at the end of the dungeon.

If you have a weapon with both single target and AOE attacks. Well you can use the single target ones and put them on cooldown, then your choice is either use #1 or use the AOE. If the AOE does more damage you use it then spam #1 until something comes back. If it doesn’t, you just spam #1 and ignore the AOE.

Sure you can swap and do the process again first, but you’ll still set things on cooldown and have to make that choice at least for a little while.

Don’t you see right there is what they’re talking about. The fact that AoE spells are currently better or equal then doing single target spells even on single target fights. In most MMO’s, AoE’s don’t do as much damage as single target spells, but you get to hit more than 1 target making them better when fighting groups of targets. However, when it comes to somthing like a boss fight where you’re single targeting, single target spells should be stronger then aoe.

Let’s say you have 2 spells.
Spell 1: hits 5 targets for 9 damage
Spell 2: hits 1 target for 10 damage

Now let’s say you’re doing SPvP and you’ve just downed a player, a team mate of his runs over to try and ress him, currently all you have to do is lay down as much AoE and you’ve got the kill, theres nothing to think about

Now let’s say they made that same aoe spell do 6 damage to each target instead.
Again, pretend you’re doing SPvP and you downed a player and someone comes to try and res him, now you actually have to stop and think, do I either A, run in and try and spike down the player before he can be ressed using my more powerful single target spell, or do i try and scare off the resser by casuing damage with my aoe spell.

Finally, they have not confirmed that nerfing all aoe spells is what they’re going to do, they’re looking into it to try and find the best fix for it. Maybe they’ll just increase single target spells and leave aoe as it is, maybe they’ll find another way to balance it more, how knows for now we just have to wait and see what their plans are

Mobs, perhaps, if they all dropped 50c each or so (and even that is not true), this guy stated monsters. Coin is not hard to make but that is not the point here and he is going off topic.

I’m sure when he says “monsters” that he means mobs.. and just because that mob might not drop 50c doesn’t mean you can’t loot let’s say an exotic that could sell for 5g+. So yes, it is completely possible to get 2s from 2 kills.

Or they can have it so that you can not kick during combat or after the final boss has been killed so you can’t get kicked before you loot the chest/rewards

Not everyone has one of every race, not everyone even plays more then one character, so what do you say to them? “Sorry you can’t do certain content in this game just because you don’t like playing Asura”. The aim of every game is to draw in as much players as possible. Do you really think adding content to a game, where thousands of people are already moaning there isn’t enough content, is going to go well?

Anet have always stressed that they want the whole of GW2 to be availble for every player so that everyone is free to play the game the way they want to. Some how I don’t think adding content that only certain classes or people that like to have loads of alt’s can partake in no matter how small or big that content is.

So you’re saying that Anet need to spend more time on bug fixing, but at the same time say it wouldn’t matter holding back bug fixes to release something like this. Anet are working on bug fixes and we will see alot of issues resolved within the next couple of months, bugs are not always a days work to fix.

Kick vote should be four of the five players to remove someone.

If two or more players are so obnoxious that they would need to be kicked, that should be obvious on the first round of heavy trash or the first boss. When it is that obvious, just reform the group without them and start again.

4 out of 5 votes wouldn’t work, how many times have you joined a group where 2 or more players are friends and when you try and kick one of them for whatever reason they get their friends to click decline so that it’s impossible to ever get them kicked unless you reform your party completly. For example, the two people that kicked the others from the group obviously was in it together, now imagine if one of those was abusing the others, but whenever you try to votekick him he’ll get his friend to decline. You wont want to reform the party though as it would require you restarting the dungeon completely.

I think you should change the title to make it more clear what you’re suggesting before clicking it, for example change it to Suggestion: Add Report Griefing, but not a biggie I suppose.

Anyway, I think the system for vote kick works and have never personally came across any group that kicks members at the end as it really doesn’t make them come off any better (If they intend to wipe and get others in to kill the boss, they’d do that before the fight and not 2% in). Sounds like it was just 2 people being idoits maybe for “abit of fun”

However, I do think Anet could add a feature where you can not kick while in combat or after the final boss of the dungoen has been defeated. That would stop people kicking people at low % of hp simply for the reason that they can’t loot their rewards. I think that would fix any issues like yours and can’t see it being too hard to design and put into the game.

Not always, you could have 2 friends in your group that’re just trolling, so if you try to kick them, their friend will click decline and you’d have no way of removing them

At the very least they should change it to 3 players instead of 2. I think if they did that it’d be perfect, I think the game has a system better then most when the group leader decides who stays and goes. In other games WoW for example the group leader can kick all 4 players if he wants to in an instant. Atleast here you need another person to vote for it

But we need it for those players that go AFK for ages, or are abusive and every other reason it was created for.

However, changing it to 3 players would require more work for Anet which maybe they don’t have time for at the moment. The way it is at the moment, if you’re in a group of just 2 people you simply leave the party. If you’re in a group of more then two people, you’re always able to kick the others. On the other hand though, if it’s 3 votes, then what happens if you’re in a group of 3? The third player isn’t going to vote to kick himself and therefore you’d still have the have the old system in play if you only have 3 players and a new system for when you have 4 or 5. Therefore, not only would they have to edit the current system, they’d also have to create a new system to go on top

The reason why world events are not raids because theyhave no coordination AT ALL. I’m amazed at how anyone could even compare Claw of Jormag to a raid. All I ever see there is random zerging, which is all world events are ever going to be.

World events will never be considered raids becasue, well.. they are world events that anyone and everyone can take part in. That means the boss has to be easy enough for a random person to jump into and have a chance of killing, for example: every world event boss we have in the game currently. If that world boss is too strong and it has difficult machanics then those random people will die and cry about how hard it is, then Anet would nerf that boss and we’d be back to sqaure one.

World events also do not give you that sense of pride as a group, a sense of achievement. In raids you finally kill a boss and you’re like "Omg we finally did it! <Inset guild name> has offically killed <Insert boss name>. How can you ever have that in open world content? You didn’t kill the boss, your guild did a percent of the night, the other 20-40 people did the rest. It’s no guild or group achievement to brag about, anyone who’s done one of the world events and walked away and within 5 seconds though “now what” knows it’s no achievement. In WoW when a guild takes down a boss for the first time they’ll talk about it for weeks, new people will log in and be like “Omg grats on finally killing <boss name> it’s about time!”. There is nothing like that in GW2 or in it’s world events.

Furthermore, World events lack duration. World bosses like claw of jormag and the shatter are quicker to complete then Story Mode Dungeons, raids however would be long and challenging with a lockout timer maybe so you can do bit of the raid over the space of a few days or a week. This makes much more interested as you can’t complete it 5+ times a day. Arah Exp takes ages, dungeons can take around the same time or longer to keep people interested in them for longer.

Now, all of those that say “Raids wouldn’t work because of the combat system blah blah” you have very little faith in Arena Net I see. FoTM is a step in the right direction when it comes to dungeons introducing new and somewhat exciting machanics to boss fights. Raids would work in the same way, apart from more machanics so that every player has something to do. For example, have a boss split into 3 each with it’s own tactics which would make everyone in the group have something to do instead of just zerg down the boss. 1 boss could reflect projectiles so only melee, one might be immune to all magic so only melee or ranged while the third might be immune to any melee attacks. It gives the group coordination. If you had that fight in a open world event, people wouldn’t know what to do and you’d have so many people attacking the wrong ones it’d be a complete mess.

Anet could easily create their own forms of raids without any gear treadmill or forcing people to do it. Just those that want to. It will have no impact on anyone that isn’t interested on doing the raids. When Anet was asked in an interview after the halloween event if we will ever see raiding, they said it’s something that they’ve been talking and thinking about to see if it’ll work, but they had nobody working or any plans for it at the time.

seriously u can kill 1 or 2 monsters in 15 secs and make your money right back in the game… you seriously need to clear your head if your going to be a gamer. learn how the money system works in the game before u complain about loss of money…

Trash mobs drop that much coin now do they? A wise man once said “learn how the money system works in the game before u complain about loss of money…”

It’s really not hard to get 2s, yes you could get lucky and easily get 2s from 2 mobs…

Never going to happen, the dungeons are bad enough at the moment, they would only hurt themselves by limiting what dungeons certain people can do depending on race. Why would Anet even consider wasting so many resoucrses creating a dungeon that only a portion of the communinty will be able to enter.. They wouldn’t.

I’m all for having dungeons story more focused around races though. Like a dungeon in each of the main cities with lore for that race like the CM story is focused entirely on the human race.
Have a dungeon with a story about that race, but everyone has to be able to enter it.
