Now I understand why someone was offering 5g a head to port themselves and a friend up to that JP chest. My mesmer is parked there to farm the chest and blooming passiflora every day. That is probably the most frustrating JP in the game and having done it once I would never want to do it again.
Exotics should always be salvaged with Black Lions Kits to collect Dark Matter.
I only salvage the ‘cheap’ exotics that are not worth much on the TP.
Oh, I have another one! The two Priory in Tarir. I don’t have the exact lines memorized, but it’s along the lines of:
“Have you been able to date the city?”
“Not yet, but it’s over 150 years old, for shore.” (Yes, she has quite a twang on “sure”).The man seems unable to remember the answer, because he asks again about 3 seconds later and gets the answer again. Over and over and over.
This is currently my most annoying place to stand and process inventory.
I loved the journey for and the Legendary itself, Nevermore. The collections are very worth it to me as tossing all my savings hopelessly in the Mystic Toilet is awful and it just feels wrong to have to buy a precursor off of the TP. I have played since Beta and zero precursors dropped while playing. (I did attempt to get into the precursor farming market but lost all of my starting capital and then some forging two Dusks to sell.)
I also did the collection for Dusk, but was not as pleased with that.
How to balance Amalgamated Gemstones?

It looked like it was almost 20% cheaper by my estimation. (That was with a crude assumption of two dust per ecto and not counting salvage costs)
(edited by Elric Of Melnibone.4781)
This is a free trait for any reaper:
Shivers of Dread: Whenever you inflict fear, you also chill.
So fear now does extra damage as well as chill. Before chill didn’t stack extra damage, but now you do add extra bleed stacks.
The recipe seems a lot cheaper to me. The original was 9 orbs and 1 crystalline dust for one which would be 90 orbs and 10 dust for 10.
Now it’s 5 ecto which might give you 10 dust but only 75 orbs so that’s almost 20% cheaper, and a lot less clicks. Of course you need 25 of one type so it’s a little less flexible.
Thinking about raid application, we always had to limit to one ‘chill’ necro because chill doesn’t stack, but now many chill necros can cause lots of stacks of bleeding because lots of things still trigger chill. Is burn damage really greater than all these extra stacks of bleed? How many bleeds (which last longer then burn) are needed to equal one burn?
Megaserver issues with HoT not addressed?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

The update notes where quite a long read so maybe I missed this, but it sounds to me like one of the biggest and most complained about issues has not been touched with this update. TD still only fires once every two hours and you have to ‘shop’ megaservers by taxiing around at some point before the event to get into a nearly full map? If you arrive early and start completing events, your ‘shard’ might still get closed because the map empties out? Same is try for AB and DS, but I don’t think it’s a big a deal in DS because that seems to always work out as a 60-90 minute commitment you HAVE to sign up for within five minutes of the start time.
(edited by Elric Of Melnibone.4781)
Given the change to Deathly Chill:
“Deathly Chill: This trait no longer causes chill to inflict damage but instead applies 8 seconds of bleeding each time you apply chill to an enemy.”
I am first assuming that 8 seconds is subject to condition duration so could theoretically be extended to 16 seconds.
I also know that chill does not stack. The question is what counts as applying chill? If a target is already chilled and you cast another chill skill on it, is the duration increased (probably not) or more importantly is another 8 second stack of bleeding added?
A couple simple options would allow people to classify blue or green non-salvageable items as junk. What would also be nice is a bag type that collects junk and another that collects salvageable materials.
To me the title “Mastery Point” says it all. You have to master something to get a point. Not grind the same content over and over filling a bar. They should be spread all over the game, like they are, so you need to master many things to get the perks of something like auto loot collection. Long time players had the benefit of already having many of these achievements unlocked so new players may think the mountain is a little tall to climb, but they should not have to do less work than the long time players to get the same benefits.
Upgrading from vanilla game (Question)
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Elric Of Melnibone.4781
You do get an extra character slot when upgrading a paid version, at least I did, but maybe that was part of a pre-order deal.
What about all the annoying harvesting bot sounds or the bot back pack? Those get old real fast and I would like to mute those.
That’s why no one PuGs Raids, you can only do it with people you know for years that you are sure they are reliable.
I don’t have time to reply to the whole thing here, but this is false; plenty of people pug raids. My raid successes are all with pugs…
False?
Let me check the LFG tool on a Friday, 6:30PM London time.
Mind you I’ve waited in each tab to see if PuGs turn up.
Now add the fact the LFG tool doesn’t have any tab for Raids and your case is looking flimsy at best. For the giggles on the Open World Content tab there are over 37 PuGs selling SAB, too many coming too fast to count.
Last nail, let me /m LFG Raid. Nothing after 10 minutes…
But I’ll take your word for it, plenty of people PuG Raids, GW2 is healthier than ever, Raids and the Expansion were a great idea. Not.
Your data is not a very good example and in fact points directly to the cause. It’s SAB time for only a couple weeks which will take priority over just about any other content.
Working on Nevermore… This is not my first legendary… Nevermore may be my last… some of the ingredients are beyond rational… I can understand you wanting players to do the story… but things like 2200 crests or orbs is just beyond reason. I’ve played 3,000 hrs in this game and maybe seen 25 or 30 of these… which means I have to buy them… Did you really need to make it items that you also tell every guild in the game that they need for their guild halls? 500 gp for part of on part of a part is unreasonable… Things like this make me wonder if perhaps I should be look at other games…
If you harvest a dozen or so T6 nodes every day you get both T6 materials and a decent chance at orbs. Let these pile up and every time there is a mystic forge daily you probably will have enough to make an amalgamated gemstone or more. Selling those materials can get you some dust to convert your crystals you get from all the T5 nodes you harvest. Orbs and Crests come in splendid chests pretty often and if you collect and forge all your medallions which drop much more often you can get crests and orbs as well. I am up to 17 crystalline ingots with zero copper spent in a month or so with little effort. I could have double that with not much more effort, but lack of a Legendary I am really interested in has kept the pace slow. (Forgot to mention the Guild gathering bonus for extra chances at orbs. Getting orb drops now makes my gaming a little more fun.)

I respect that you have opinions to voice, but without a monetary value, they are completely irrelevant to the thread.
I echoed your own statement that they need to start delivering on Legendary journeys before they start talking about another expansion pack which is one reason price is irrelevant.
The second reason is within reason price really doesn’t matter at all to me. I opted for the $100 version because I knew I would get more than my moneys worth, and even without the rest of the Legendary weapons I feel I have already got that. I was completely entertained for the last six months or so and had plenty to do. Everything they deliver from now until the next expansion will be completely free.
My issue is that I now need something worthwhile to work on (while waiting for LS3) and I started on Astralaria, but my heart is not really in it. GW2 is not as ‘fun’ as it was without the shinies to look forward to.
People only buy and play GW2 to relax and have fun and counting how many maps or elite specializations are in an expansion has no real bearing on how much FUN it will provide the purchaser. How much people are willing or ABLE to pay is highly related to their income level so I don’t see how a poll on desired price is meaningful.
For HoT, gliding and the mastery system alone provided a large amount of the fun for me with the Legendary journeys coming in as the most important long term fun.
After taking some time to cool down, I’m still mad. I want to make this very clear to Arenanet:
I will not buy anything until you fulfill your obligation to complete the first expansion pack.
Even after that, I will not buy any future expansions that do not include advertised content, but said content is promised to be added later. Only when the expansions have fully released all content advertised will I purchase them.
The problem with this stance is that Guild Wars is buy once play for free for as long as you want AND get lots of FREE content over time as it’s ready. People got so upset about the price of the expansion and lack of ‘content’, but they forget this fundamental principle of how Guild Wars does things and all of the FREE content that would be released over time.
Unfortunately, new legendary weapons and precursor collections where promised as part of that content AND had been sorely missing for many years even though promised many years ago as well. They drive the economy as well as give many players something to look forward to and work on.
I am not mad but very disappointed. I wish there was something we could do about it, but I am at a loss how to get them back. I got such enjoyment out of Nevermore and was anxiously anticipating the next set, hoping one of them would appeal to me. Now I feel like they have cancelled Christmas effectively.
They had better resume delivery of Legendary Weapons and Precursor collections BEFORE they announce another expansion or many will not be interested.
When your NOT doing a jumping puzzle, the glider function is fantastic as is and using any other key than the space bar would certainly ruin that for me. Auto deploy is fantastic and allows you to run off a ledge with space held down and KNOW that your going to engage the glider. The old implementation was way to error prone with faulty taps to the space bar that did not actually engage the glider, or even worse double taps because you thought it did not engage when it really did and then you disengage by mistake and fall to your death.
Their are already far to many keys to deal with, and the new raid ‘action’ key has caused me much grief as all my mouse buttons are spoken for and my left handle already has over a dozen keys to be responsible for.
I was in that very map last night, and as lightly and quickly as I tapped the jump bar, my glider did deploy. I got a message about this — may in fact have been from the OP in this thread — and I suggested a discussion here on the forums.
Our situation may be our keyboards, where they can’t distinguish a quick tap from a holding tap. But I can confirm that for some of us, at least, the bloomin’ glider can result in our untimely deaths!
I recently went out and spent well over a hundred dollars on a mechanical keyboard for this very reason and it is now possible for me to jump but not glide. Possible, but not actually probable because of so many long hours holding down that space bar in fear I am not going to make a jump, fall to my death, and have to repeat a really long puzzle yet again.
My old keyboard had a really sloppy space bar and may have contributed to the learned habit of holding down to long but I kind of think the vertigo that many jumping puzzles seem to invoke are the real culprit.
Maybe instead of no fly zones their could be ‘safety’ zones around jumping puzzles that only deploy the glider once your fall rate crosses some threshold that would kill you or if your approaching the ground at a ‘terminal’ velocity.
I don’t get why they went the collection route anyways. I’m currently doing the collections for bolt and nevermore out of curiosity to see why they are such a big issue.
So far, ALL they are are wp checklists of running to an npc to get an item or finishing an event. It’s certainly not the “epic journey” Johansen would have u believe and in fact it’s just a chore.
Honestly the old rng system was better than this boring grind.
So you would rather spend your day crafting weapons to flush down the Mystic Toilet? With almost ZERO chance of getting anything in return for your time and effort? That’s not only boring it’s frustrating and demoralizing. Just like playing the game for YEARS and never getting a precursor drop.
Ok, ok….I get your point but you missed mine. My attitude allows people to run with
the gear and builds they want. You are suggesting to new raiders they have to be geared
out the wazooo and have a certain build in order to even be successful in killing bosses.
The odds of being in a group of 10 people that NEVER raided before in gw2 are very low
up to this point of HoT release. I mean, it’s to the point, in which; ppl are selling SV boss
kills and their only requirement is gold…they are not concerned about gear or builds.
Though I agree with knowing what you are doing, in all honesty, it’s posts like yours that
actually scare ppl into not raiding and makes them feel like they have to be a certain
way to enjoy the game. But hey, to each his own doesn’t make you immune to the
backlash.
I just mentioned gear as important, but didn’t really get to specific. Let me give an example. If you come in with lots of Toughness, Vitality, and Healing with almost no Power, Condition, Precision, Expertise then your DPS will be much lower and if everyone did that your going to run into the enrage timer and fail. You don’t need to be all Ascended or have the perfect gear but the better the gear the easier the raid is.
In my case, I know my skill is lacking so I strive for near perfect gear so I can make up for lack of skill with better DPS. Those who can execute with perfection can out DPS me with lesser gear I have no doubt.
Let me give an example on builds. I may be specked to cause lots of vulnerability say, but the group has already got that covered and mine will be wasted so instead I should speck to boost my critical hit chance when striking vulnerable foes rather than getting might and life force from chilled foes which my team will already be providing me. The primary focus to my build is a chill necro, but chill does not stack so only one necro should spec this way.
The combinations on build are limitless, but you need to let the leader orchestrate the team for the best overall performance. I am not trying to scare people into not raiding, just explain the motive behind asking people to change things. The content was built to be a challenge so people should not expect to join a pug and just stroll through it.
Raiding has MANY requirements. It’s certainly NOT for everyone. Every boss is different and has a different set of mechanics to learn and master. The composition of the group also varies from boss to boss. Think of it as many very difficult puzzles requiring experience, build, and gear. The MOST important thing is a group of 10 people that get along well.
Being in a good guild is probably the most important first step. Sure you can PUG it, but wow, you really need to get lucky to find the right group. Raids take LOTs of practice and patience. The better ‘instructor’ you have the smoother the experience. Fortunately my guild has about a dozen ‘hard core’ raiders that have no problem spending hours and hours learning how to beat the raid. The other dozen ‘casual’ raiders like myself then learn from them and to some extent get ‘carried’ through. VG is pretty easy with a decent build, but Gorseval is a real DPS check with the last nerfs that came out.
Everyone has to work together bringing the right thing to the table. It is NOT a walk in the park like most of the rest of GW2 content.
{{{Giggles a bit}}} You do realize some ppl are 7 and 8 manning these raids right? There’s
even a video of VG being 5 manned. Some of the raids are being done with only one
type of profession (like an all Ele/Necro/ etc…) and have beaten bosses. Some groups
have claimed to have all exotics and beaten bosses. I personally saw on my alt a person
that linked their gear (all blues) and still beaten bosses. Now take all that I said into
account and read your post and try not to giggle as hard…good day
I am speaking to those who clearly are NOT raiding, not to those who CAN 5 man VG. As a pug or ‘newbie’ you cannot get all upset about being given certain requirements. These 5 man teams are not running random builds or any old blue gear, and they CERTAINLY have done it MANY times. People with attitudes like you are what turn people off from raiding.
Writing a whole story about the acquisition of a precursor is a pretty big expectation so a scavenger hunt for ‘related’ items is about the most we can expect. Nevermore actually had a pretty cool ‘story’ where you had to get a Raven egg, build a nest for it, hatch it, feed it, teach it to fly, capture it’s spirit, and so on.
Even the lamest scavenger hunt is INFINITELY better than spending countless hours and gold dumping stuff into the Mystic Toilet which is COMPLETELY unfair and soul crushing to most who try it. Hoping for one to ‘drop’ while playing the game is also a pipe dream. Buying off of some other lucky player is also really lame.

MO clearly knew about the legendary team issues for a while now (considering that they were only able to produce 3 weapons since mid 2013, and finish 1 additional weapon in the last 4 months)…
Your facts are not quite accurate. They produced 4 new skins (and probably most of the rest as well) but they produced 20 precursor scavenger hunts which was where most of the work was (plus maybe some new infrastructure to support them). It’s all the detail work of hooking up all those individual quests and icons, etc… that was time consuming.
The end result was full delivery of a new precursor system, 16 old precursor hunts, 3 new hunts and 3 new skins (with number 4 coming soon). The other 13 are a ton more work but we don’t know how much of that is partially complete but clearly needed significant resource to finish. They must have known about this workload for a while but decided to sacrifice that promise in favor of fixing the LS drought.
We can only hope they decide to fix this problem but clearly they think exp pack 2 is more important which of course I disagree with.
But a huge part of the fun of the new legendaries is the journey? This isn’t a solution, its a band-aid.
True, but the cut they have made is hemorrhaging players; it needs a band-aid.
Hopefully they can make a full fix at some point in the same way that they added crafting for the first set of weapons. In the meantime it is better to be able to create a new legandary weapon via the old method of mystic forge/crafting than to have to do without completely.
I’d rather see the new weapons via the old system than never see the new weapons.
I have to disagree with this. We waited an eternity to finally be able to craft our own precursors (and we paid for precursor crafting, or so we where lead to believe) so I would rather wait for the full experience than have the new Legendary weapons cheapened by adding the precursors to the drop tables. The scavenger hunt is content we where promised and they should deliver on it as a priority over the next expansion pack. If they don’t fix HoT properly I don’t see how they expect any of their long term customers to pay for another expansion. Even if it’s only one new Legendary every quarter, that should be enough to satisfy most of us.
Going through the journey to build the precursor made the actual Legendary weapon that much more valuable to me. Throwing all your gold into the Mystic toilet or just buying off the TP is just wrong.
I don’t mind waiting for more precursor collections to be built and I think resource should come from the second expansion pack team as delivering on the promises made for the first expansion should come before work on the second. As a LONG time Guild Wars player this is probably the worst announcement I have heard.
PLEASE! the amount of QQ in just this forum post alone is ridiculous and uncalled for! you all act as though anet is taking away your newborn child and not some useless weapons that have ZERO purpose! THINK ABOUT IT! legendary weapons give you NOTHING other than “oooh i can change the stats on my staff but thats it” when you could craft a few ascended staves (and put sigils on them) for far cheaper. all this outrage is completely pointless
It’s not about the stat changing, although that is a nice feature, it’s about the bling and the journey to get one. The precursor scavenger hunt finally got rid of the Mystic Toilet AND gave us content in the form of a scavenger hunt. Living story releases entertain us for a week or two at most, but saving up for a Legendary gives people a reason to login everyday and do something they have done a hundred times before. It was the ‘filler’ between LS episodes that can be worked on in many ways. Now, why bother grinding and saving your gold when there is nothing cool to spend it on?
Without new Legendary weapons I have NO motivation to login and do nothing but grind. The expansion was great, I have all my mastery points, and once my Revenant gets all leveled up I will have no reason to login every day. Nevermore is wonderful and gave me lots to do but so many of the Legendary weapons have such a narrow theme, none of my characters are interested in them. We waited an eternity for the new weapons and now with only four new ones you’re closing the doors again?
I have several sets of infinite gather tools, but certainly not for all my toons, just the ones I ended up playing a lot. To me it’s a quality of life improvement I don’t mind paying for and I like different skins for different toons.
Set your texture detail/quality level down a notch. I found that one setting prevents me from crashing in DS for certain, but it could probably happen on other maps.
THIS is EXACTLY the problem. I am first tear Sapphire and my team has THREE Emerald versus FOUR Sapphire. Almost NO chance of winning. How does this make ANY sense?
Jesus christ dude
Matchmaking is largely pip based, you got sapphires because they were close to emerald pip wise.
How many times must this be explained to you people?
I am not complaining about being matched with Emeralds I am complaining about constantly being matched to LOSE.
And the next match I get two Sapphire versus three Sapphire. And we crushed them. The only explanation was the best Emeralds where paired against the worst I guess. Either that or the MMR is so wrong the system cannot possibly pick a fair fight.
THIS is EXACTLY the problem. I am first tear Sapphire and my team has THREE Emerald versus FOUR Sapphire. Almost NO chance of winning. How does this make ANY sense?
Let me start by saying that I have always hated PvP because it was so frustrating for MANY reasons. Reason 1, I am not very good at it and getting owned both 1 v 1 and 1 v many is just the opposite of fun. Reason 2, the players in PvP can be real tools (nothing can be helped about that except to close the chat window). Reason 3, team members often have no clue what the proper ‘tactics’ should be as far as capping points, etc…
The net is PvP is only FUN if you have a CHANCE to win.
My friend, who is much better than I am suggested I try ranked play this season because I would not have to face all of the ‘pros’ and would experience a much higher percentage of fair matches. I decided to give it a try and in very short order I was in Sapphire and getting there was pretty easy. Since then however it has been two weeks of total frustration with my high water mark of four pips in tier 1. I have done some solo but mostly teamed with my friend and maybe 10% of the games I have played where balanced. About 20% where won easily and the other 70% there was just no chance of winning. Every player on the other team was about the same skill level or MUCH better, and no matter where I tried to rotate to, the other team always seemed to have more players there. Feeling completely outclassed is NOT FUN.
This matching system has just about convinced me to give up for this season. Balancing the teams within tier/division should be the goal NOT pushing better players up and out because all the losses, through no real fault of the player, send your ranking artificially down making balanced match making even that much harder. As an entry level Sapphire I should NOT be facing top level Sapphires trying to get into Ruby.

Thank a lot for your advice. I think I’ll go for the legend crafting. My issue is I can never save much money, so having something I can spend on little by little would make it more achievable. I will have to level crafting, which is such a bore, and with how easy it used to be, I used to level characters with crafting, but I deleted them and now I’m stuck at 200 weaponsmithing.
I have still never had an ascended weapon, so even getting that would be a huge benefit. Looking forward to it, now I just need to not fall asleep while I push up to 500 weaponsmithing.
Don’t forget to get crafting boosters and I would advise following a craft leveling guide. You will want all the materials you will need on hand so you can just ‘burst’ craft all at once to get the most out of the crafting booster’s limited duration. Also, check the wiki for the full materials list for whatever Legendary you are going for to make sure you have the correct professions leveled and conversely don’t waste time/money leveling something you will not need.
Once you level up to 500, you can use that skill to make money doing the time gated crafting and selling for profit IF you won’t ultimately need that material for your precursor. Crafting everything yourself is cheaper than buying it off the TP but be prepared for some ridiculously absurd material amounts for the precursors. The scavenger hunt part can be fun however with only a few exceptions caused by bugged events.

ok one other thing if ima farm events wich map has the best or most usefull stuff VB or AB. also is any map better then the other for evbent farming to get masteries
For crafting the new legendary weapons you need map currency/materials from VB, AB, and TD so you’re going to need to do all three. VB is EASY to get what you need, AB is the most painful due to megaserver issues. You can only open the AB chests IF you get on a map that is doing the meta where as TD chests are always available and you don’t need to do the meta, but it does yield much more map currency than regular events.
This matchmaking is nothing but frustrating. You get a few good matchups and then get punished through no fault of your own. What fun is being matched where you are SUPPOSED to lose?

I am having a hard time deciding between legnedary crafting and fractal mastery.
I have never done a fractal, but am considering trying, and for legends, I still haven’t earned one (I mostly pvp).
I have always wanted a legendary, but would crafting make it more accessible. (keep in mind, I have never had over 300 gold, as I always end up spending on things that interest me for cheaper) I could never save the money for a precursor. Is it satisfying and cheaper to craft?
The fractal mastery is underwhelming. You get some extra loot, access to an area with a special vendor, and a buff while in the fractal. If you frack a lot then it’s worth it.
Nothing about Legendaries are cheap. Just getting your crafting levels up is VERY expensive as are almost all the parts of the Legendary, BUT now that you don’t have to save up to buy the precursor you can plink away at it over time and get some satisfaction while you make progress.
I crafted both an old and new Legendary and went pretty much completely bankrupt, but I love my Nevermore and the journey to get it was pretty cool. The precursor is Ascended also so you can use it while you get all the other ingredients. The journey will take you all over the game and fortunately if you don’t like PvP or WvW you can buy those tokens on the Trading Post pretty cheap.
The big/bad surprise is the 2K plus orbs you will need for the new Legendary weapons. They are not easy to get, but also not impossible. Unfortunately it is RNG based so getting some gathering boosters from your guild helps a bit. You will need to do a LOT more PvE however as PvP just doesn’t fill your pockets with drops like farming Orian or Silverwastes events. A fair amount of map currency in HoT maps is required as well so you will need to spend some time doing those events.

be sure to have an experience booster handy to pop before opening the final map reward chest when you kill the dragon.
Is that how it works? We only need the xp booster before opening the chest? I had assumed we needed it before killing the dragon, just like you have to have it on before you kill any other critter.
There are different flavors of XP booster, the best one boosts all experience including kill streak bonuses which is REALLY powerful doing all the killing up to the final battle, but the final battle itself is sadly lacking in any XP and your booster probably will run out by then. So the net is keep the kill streak booster up until you get to the three Blighting towers and then don’t bother with boosters until Mordremoth is dead and the rewards chest is waiting to be opened. That one chest is like 150K (or more, don’t remember) so you want to boost before opening it to get max bonus.

Gliding is by far the most ‘fun’ line to complete, but you do need to get the basics in the other lines for full map access. Certain collections also require filling out the other lines, but nothing beats Advanced Gliding for your full gliding pleasure. Ley Line gliding is also really helpful for the last battle in the Dragon Stand meta. (Doing the Dragon Stand meta is also really helpful for farming large amounts of experience and be sure to have an experience booster handy to pop before opening the final map reward chest when you kill the dragon.)

I always try to position myself on an island with two ‘ley neighbors’ so I can get to head or tail if it spawns on one of these three islands. I can’t remember doing the meta without at least a few hits on head or tail. Now the pressure is really on if no hits equals no rewards. Pretty lame but I can’t believe we have not heard about this until now.
What your doing sounds a lot more like work or prep to sell some gold, neither of which seems at all fun.
Btw, while I admit that this kind of flax farming jumps hurtles over being excessive, I think some of the mildly-informed comments that are posted here are… ridiculous.
So, before you wager your vote into the realm of me being a gold seller of any kind, I think you should read people’s posts more thoroughly, cause, who cares what I am collecting this gold for, I am doing this to give myself something to do, cause I don’t feel like doing anything else.
(P.S., yes, I’m annoyed by your amazing theory.)
I never assumed you where a gold seller, I only made that comment because your routine sounds remarkably like what botters programmed their accounts to do, ultimately for selling the proceeds. If your trying to relax doing anything 20 times in a row seems just the opposite of that, not to mention the stress and headaches you are encountering.
Just ‘playing’ the game by doing the myriad of events available and selling the proceeds would be a lot more fun and potentially more profitable if accumulating gold is the ‘fun’ you are after. Mixing in various modes of the game reduces the DR (diminishing returns) logic built into the drop tables and makes it a lot less boring.
Materials of all forms are very valuable these days so salvaging all those tiresome blues and greens of various levels is advised. You would also accumulate all that luck and increase your drops.
Why do you need so much gold? Are you saving to buy/craft some goal? I have 5 alts that I spend maybe 5 minutes on when I login to farm an iron node, a platinum node, a couple grand chests and look for my three daily blossums plus some ancient wood/ori nodes for a shot at some orbs, and that is it. I do some dailies with another alt and then maybe some PvP or HoT events or mabye some cursed shore events with my main for a bit more farming, then whatever daily crafts I have the materials for and call it a night.
What your doing sounds a lot more like work or prep to sell some gold, neither of which seems at all fun.
They stop us from saying the same thing in chat more than a few times which actually blocks legitimate messaging from commanders yet they let accounts whisper tons of other accounts non stop with probably the same cut/paste message, even after many report/block them. Seems they could easily do better.
I don’t think stranger whisper block is a good alternative as that is pretty much the only way to meet ‘real’ people in the game.
I have been doing PvP lately and the gold spammers are blatant in that lobby. They stand there with names like ‘asdfasdfasdf’ spewing gold spams and no matter how many times I or other people report them they keep right on doing it.
I think the OPs idea has some merit but it should apply to whispers and be based on number of stranger whispers. If an account makes more than a certain number of stranger whispers AND gets reported for gold selling, than block the account from whispers AND queue them up for account ban later.
