Currencies are not crafting materials

Since you can salvage things from your material storage and not from your wallet it is a good thing they are there.
For the last time. We do not need the ability to salvage these currencies to obtain unbound magic! They can receive the pristine fractal relic treatment, where you use these currencies to buy a box that gives you a random amount of unbound magic. This technology already exists in the game!
The problem of them taking space in your bag has already been adressed why does it still trigger you so much? Besides some of them are basically crafing mats so it makes sense for them to be there. It would be cofusing to have half in the wallet and half in the bank.
That’s the thing, in my opinion the problem has not been addressed. As soon as you hit 250 of these currencies, your storage will be full and it will start piling up in your inventory again. This isn’t a solution to the problem.
I have the same problem if not worse with mithril, silk, thick leather and not to forget bloodstone dust empyreal shards and dragonite ore.
And then I have a space for 1000s. Lol
Just refine everything and store that. If the refined stack fills up, just sell it, you don’t need more than a full stack of refined materials laying around.
What we still don’t have in GW2 is some way to store builds. Every time I want to do a Fractal I have to swap all my weapons/armor/trinkets. Such a pain. I was hoping with Legendary armor they would let us store optional runes on the armor itself saving some inventory management, but I guess they think that is fun for us, constantly dealing with inventory management.
And they need to stop tossing us random crap with the LW episodes. Bitterfrost Frontier is my favorite map currently but I bloody hate the fact that in order to do stuff on the map, there’s otherwise completely useless items I need in my inventory for it. 3 pieces of Svanir armor, 3 elixir ingredients + the one that’s actually useful.
And when you start counting the stuff from other episodes, you suddenly realize how much space they take and you can’t get rid of them.
I think we need all of the above, 30 slot bags, account-wide bag slot expansions, a keyring, etc.
This to me is the biggest problem. Every new zone has some new item(s) that will NOT go in the wallet and you need to stack up. It feels like they are intentionally trying to fill our inventory to drive storage sales.
I forget the exact details because it’s been a while, but there is already a problem with just swapping outfits. You cannot set the dyes for each outfit, there seems to be only one dye channel per character for ALL outfits.
Making your own outfits from existing skins would be great, but they need to fix the dye issue or it’s kind of pointless.
My only complaint so far about the new map was that the ‘true’ map versus the rendered map does not match very well. It seemed like they where sloppy when making it. What I mean is I can see a rock ledge that is easily within jump range, but I just slide off like there was not really a ledge there even though I could see it.
This puzzle sounds like it’s just the opposite where there are ledges you cannot see. I call total bull kitten on any map like this, especially in a jumping puzzle. Having teeny tiny ropes to walk on that visually give you vertigo, even though the ‘real’ plank your walking on is bigger than what you see is fine, but not even drawing said rope expecting you to guess where it is by trial and error is just wrong.
Having dead ends is fine, or misleading visual clues, but having to use invisible ledges to make it harder seems really lame.
They can’t retroactively add the collections as that would change the requirements on obtaining these new ‘cheap’ Legendary weapons.

No journey for the new mace. I really liked making Nevermore, but this mace is just a grind.
The collection is completely gone now along with any lore or story. Map currency + mithril + elder wood == precursor. Pretty sad now but I guess it’s better than the Mystic Toilet.
So I crafted Hypothesis, anyone find the recipe for Eureka?
I personally will be upset if they start hyping another expansion before they start putting out new Legendary weapons and I bet a lot of others feel the same way.
You can be as upset as you want, but that’s the way it’s going to be.
You don’t know that. Losing customers over this is a very real possibility.
They currently have ~100 employees working on a new expansion pack. They currently have 0 working on legendary weapons.
Do the math.
Assignments can and do change, hence their suspension. Your ‘logic’ means nothing.
It took them 6 months to make a single Legendary Shortbow. The next expansion is intended to launch within 2 years. Do the math.
Sounds like your math is all wrong:
New Legendary Mace: Eureka
A new legendary weapon is now available. Speak to Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs in Lion’s Arch to learn how to craft the new mace precursor, Endeavor, and forge the new legendary mace, Eureka.
Can I just point out that nowhere in the short process of:
1. Being asked to link my gear
2. Being kicked
3. Being told my build was wrongwas there any dialogue about being flexible. There are lots of keyboard warriors here defending the min/max meta nonsense and yes, meta is the culmination of lots of input and collating strategies. The inflexibility however was demonstrated on several occasions by the “experienced raiders” where the situation reads as “meta or do one” and THAT is what I would define as snobbery.
As for the racing example earlier in the thread, that’s also a mute point, you HAVE to be able to drive to be allowed to obtain a racing licence, which is a demonstration of ability. Where was the opportunity to demonstrate? Non existent, null, nil, nada. Nope instead the suggestion was that rather than good players they just want people that can read strategy guides and spend gold on what other people have worked out to be effective.
Sorry but if that’s how raids work here, I’ll do something more rewarding, like throwing my main off the Airship in GF repeatedly
It seems to me you have unrealistic expectations. It seems to be your asking a group of people who know how to beat a raid boss to accept a complete rookie with a build of their own choosing.
If this was a fractal or a dungeon, no problem, but the raids are just about impossible without proper cooperation and team work, and a good portion of that is the build you bring. If for example you come in with any toughness, you will mess up the tank who’s job it is to move the boss around.
If this was advertised as a training raid, again no problem as the people involved are not expecting to succeed right away. Each raid has a lot of mechanics that need to be learned and builds that make the whole thing go much better.
There is nothing snobbish about ten people who want to do a raid expecting the team to cooperate on what each person is bringing with them. If anyone makes to big a mistake it’s a wipe and you all get to die and start over again. Failing over and over again because one selfish team member brings an incompatible build (not a bad build, just not helpful to the current situation) is not an option the raid leader should allow.
The best thing to do is find a guild that raids, do some training runs, and I would be willing to bet you will come to the conclusion that your ‘perfect’ build is really only perfect for you playing open world PvE. Sure the best builds might get expensive, but certainly you can come up with an ‘acceptable’ build without spending a ton.
Half my toons are parked at resource nodes or chests so they login collect logoff, the rest are a safe places because logging in and being attacked is not cool. I don’t like being in LA due to the load times.
Rather than another bar or a blinking bar, let the ‘timed’ bars change color maybe towards red and once it hits red you missed your chance to break it.
I personally will be upset if they start hyping another expansion before they start putting out new Legendary weapons and I bet a lot of others feel the same way.

I will try Caledon Forest but there is not much I can do about my magic find as my account is at a pretty high level.
I killed a handful of every type of crustacean on the wiki on various maps and got nothing. I have been focusing on the Hermit Crabs in Southsun Cove with zero luck. The wiki doesn’t document the drops very consistently. I am hoping someone can remember where they got one last. My fear is they only drop once and then never again once they are in your collection so there won’t be many sightings.
I noticed my junk collection achievement was almost complete missing only a seashell so I started killing crabs to try and get that last junk drop, but it seems I have killed hundreds of them with no luck. Since this achievement is so old I am afraid they took it off the drop tables. I was wondering if anyone got one recently?
Another option to reduce ‘maintenance’ of invite lists would be to tie it to a guild. My guild does raid runs and if guild members would be allowed to spectate, that should be OK I would think and maybe be a simple switch the guild/squad leader could make rather than having to deal with lots of individual invites.
Certain Meta events in PvE require group coordination and ‘Involved’ commanders, but that is certainly NOT the only use for commander tags. Yes they can be abused during these situations, but even during these meta events there may not be enough commanders present willing to sign up for all that. Sometimes the best you can have is just a tag to rally people to and maybe get group counts for balancing.
In most other situations tags are really useful on maps to get enough people to do the event. In NO way is it necessary for someone popping a tag to sign up for answering any and all questions. A tag can merely be a marker on the map to advertise more bodies are needed.
I have played 4600 hours since beta, zero from drops, two Dusks from the Mystic Toilet after throwing in at least their worth if not more in rare great swords. Lots of other rares flushed down the toilet as well. Every rare axe I get as a drop goes down the toilet, but for some reason rare axes don’t drop nearly as often as other weapon types.

Most do not scale down? I’ve done pretty much all events that don’t have a champ so yes they can be done solo.
I have not done to much HoT since the Spring Update, but before that there where many events in AB and TD, without champs that where WAY to difficult due mostly to spawn rates. I could certainly survive and kill things, but more would spawn to fast to keep up with, and I have been playing since Beta. Granted I am not the strongest player, but certainly at least above average.
As an example, what about the event on the east side of AB where you have to kill the vine tenders that continuously spawn and kill off the all the other stuff that spawns down below and kill off the big vine thing that is the event? How can you possible solo that?
A couple other examples in TD where your supposed to guard things while a gazilion chak spawn constantly. I can kill tons and tons of chak, but not enough to eventually be overwhelmed. With a person or two to help, it’s quite doable however.

HoT is MUCH harder content than 90+% of all the previous content. Most events in TD and AB do not scale down so a single player can solo them. I think your best bet is to find a guild or your going to have to hope to get lucky with map population. Popping a tag is another option as that will often collect players to your location.
You should be able to explore all of the HoT maps, even Solo, but don’t expect to be able to complete all the events.
I had played GW1 for years and got hacked and lost everything of value. There was no account rollback option at that time. It ended my GW1 experience. I have not seen any evidence that Gaile got her stuff back or ever will. I was VERY upset with ANet for not having a rollback feature for GW1. You have no idea how much it hurts until it happens to you.
Playing the lottery is not an end game pursuit. Buying scratch off tickets is just as bad as pouring your hard earned gold into the Mystic Toilet hoping for a precursor. The precursor collections where perfect little ‘end game’ stories we could work on with seemingly MUCH less (developer) work than Living Story.
After the new expansion there will be ANOTHER expansion that will be far more important to them than delivering on the promise they broke. Either they will put some resources on it or they won’t but in my mind a new expansion will consume all of their focus so the only chance is if they have some bandwidth after Living Story is under control.
Personally I will have a lot of problems getting excited about a new expansion if the Legendary drought continues once the upcoming phase of Living Story is complete.
It’s the only Legendary with a pet/familiar and I think it looks awesome when you wield it. Necros finally got a dark themed Legendary. Now if only we can get a dark themed sceptor…
The south gate challenge area in Auric Basin is the same way. Was not that way at release but several months ago it suddenly got very bright. This is the race to the top.
Same logic goes for the BLTC, you don’t need the tp in the wvw maps, you can still go and use it in the cities/other maps. And if you claim you need it for siege, theres always the siege merchant right there at the starting point of the maps, and theres a mystic forge there too if you need the superior ones.
What about consumables? You should not have to leave your place in the WvW queue to buy more food.
I think adding them to Guild Halls is the best solution. Quick load times and the same convenience without the risk of filling up a borderland with non WvW players.
Although I will greatly miss the convenience of crafting in WvW (LA load times are to long) the TP is necessary for WvW to buy supplies. The will need a bank however to grant permanent access to it as the bank vendor is not always upgraded in the keeps.
It’s totally worth it, love my Nevermore. It’s certainly my favorite. The crow is awesome as are the crows that scatter when you wield it. Raising the chick was really cool, the best example of a precursor journey. To bad there will be no more :-(.
Elric, Enlighten me. Maybe I am doing this all wring. How can I make it more fun or not so receptive? Also what is the 10x recipe?
The new recipe is 5 ectos plus three stacks of 25 ‘orbs/crests’ each. You get 10 or more gemstones out. It’s also slightly cheaper than the single recipe.
I am not sure what parts of the game you like/dislike but there are tons of dungeons to do, fractals and lots of areas/events/bosses. Salvage pretty much all of your loot, sell materials you don’t need for crafting. Get your magic find up as high as possible to boost your rare/exotic drop rates. Get the magic find amulet, eat your Omnomberry Bars, get the guild buff for magic find and be sure to rotate activities so you don’t fall prey to diminishing returns. Check the sell price of Exotics and sell if over a gold or salvage with BLC kits to get ecto/dark matter out.
Watch the map rewards as they can be very nice, if they are not, shift to another map. Cursed Shore events drop tons of loot, of course Silver wastes drops lots of loot (well with shovels/keys), Dragon stand runs are fun and profitable. Crowbars drop like candy in Verdant Brink if you run around doing those events. My ranger does a run through Southsun Cove every night hitting all the Ori and Ancient nodes which drop orbs, and picking up the three blooming passiflowers. If a commander is running through you can get lots of karka shells farming the veterans.
I made a lot of coin crafting for profit, but that’s not for everyone and takes a little research. Right now you can craft the Krait weapons that Faction Provisioners are looking for as people are too lazy to craft them. That would let you turn all the wood, metal and other T5 drops you get from salvaging into even more gold. (You want to use Mystic Salvage kits for the best salvaging results or a Silver Fed Salvagomatic.) You can also craft the daily Ascended materials to craft/sell for profit but that takes a large investment to max your crafting out if you have not already.
What I am getting at is do actual game activities, than running the same map over and over for months.
I have four Legendary weapons and I never did anything over and over again for months. Nevermore is the only new weapon and the Amalgamated gemstones where a bit tedious in the forge, but they have fixed that now with the 10x recipe. There are so many ways to accumulate wealth in this game so go do something else if your tired of one particular map.

Does this include AT&T Go Phones? I have never been able to get a ‘web’ based SMS to arrive at my cell phone. I cannot verify my Skype account for instance as their message never makes it. (Just tried again and as usual nothing)
This is why email is better, that always works and it’s convenient to use.
I was thinking Legendary Armor should have special slots that let you apply multiple runes and then be able to select one active rune from those already applied. This way you pay for each rune as you add them rather than having to pay for a Legendary Rune that can change to any past or future runes which does not really make sense.
This makes no sense. You can only craft certain guild weapons with Shimmering Crystals and to have to MOVE your guild hall to have access to them is madness. Our guild hall is like level 50 (or more) and I have checked that second slot almost every day, but I often forget. Those things should be there EVERY day if you can’t mine them in Gilded Hollow.
The location of the guild hall determines the type of Crystal? Our guild only has one Guild Hall, can you even have more than one?
I just tried now, and I got two Tenebrous Crystals. I have never got Shimmering Crystals from the synthesizer, only Tenebrous. Are they an extremely rare drop? The wiki says you can buy them from the Guild Trader but I have never seen them there either.
How does one a acquire Shimmering Crystals anyway? I read they where randomly on the guild NPC but I have checked that like a dozen times now and I never seem them.
I just maxed it out, had over 50 points unspent, just never realized they had added it.
Is that new? When was that added? I stopped playing WvW when the Desert maps came out but the Alpine maps have lured me back in a little.
Not sure if this is just the alpine maps returning and missing this feature or it never worked in WvW, but the whole point of Autoloot I thought was FOR WvW when you don’t have time to keep track of your loot when your in a major battle.
What they need to do is sell us a salvagojunkatron on the BLTP that consumes all blues, greens, junk and anything salvageable and feeds itself by selling the runes and sigils that it gets as by product. Any coppers left over are deposited in your wallet. It should even have a setting for rares as well. Materials would also get deposited in your bank if not full.
It needs to be per kit type and per item type. If your using a silver fed salvagomatic, PLEASE do NOT prompt me for rares. If your using a Black Lion kit and salvaging exotics it gets a little tricky, but since exotics are pretty ‘rare’ a confirmation is not that big of a deal, but they could detect precursors and do a special prompt for those.

Can’t say much about PvP, but in PvE, Reaper is clearly fantastic for taking on pretty much anything.
If you make any effort to do events in VB you will have plenty of crowbars. I actually tend to have the opposite problem. I have never managed to ‘run out’ of crowbars even though I go on chest runs to burn some of them off.

Season 1 was designed as dynamic ‘live’ content that if you where not there for it, you missed it, just like Mad King and Wintersday, which unfortunately also had a story line which is now only accessible through an NPC. Season 2 was done right with some events in old areas leading to entire new areas that are now permanent and you get for free without doing the story. They advertised in advance the stories where free now, pay later so if you bought the game later you still need to pay for the stories. (Not sure if you need the stories to open the new areas the first time.)
I don’t think an uber bundle would have been a bad idea, they just didn’t bother with it.
How many thousand trees did you harvest? How many thousand green and blue drops did you salvage? How many points of interest and vistas did you find? How many players did you kill in WvW and/or PvP? This seems trivial compared with all the other inputs to a Legendary.
