You don’t actually lose an armor, it just gets ‘demoted’ to non-gold with far less HP. Not sure if the skill damage goes down or not.
I struggled with this for a while, but on my last attempt (because it was successful) I was in the area in front and left of his front right foot and I did actually see the vortex spawn and ran into it. I did turn my texture detail up, but not sure if that mattered. This is VERY frustrating with the Tequatl schedule and wait time for this event not to mention you could easily go down and will not get rezzed and probably miss the window while your running back. I used my guardian with all the heal power I could get.
The Spinal glider should be the first ‘powered’ glider with jet exhaust and contrails. It should come in three or four colors to match the existing back pieces.

This was very poorly done. Obviously they want to prevent players from AFK in armor but you literally are in them for 10 minutes with NOTHING to do as even trying to carry on a chat conversation is near impossible with only 20 seconds between mandatory movements. Your already limited to a small area so you can’t run away with them, why not just let them sit idle until the event starts and then start auto booting?
I always use the orders, never immediate, but I like a net margin of over a gold per craft.
I too wish there was a way to permanently decline SMS. Even if there was a chance my stupid ATT Go Phone would receive the messages I certainly don’t want to have to get up and get it whenever my IP address changes. I always have access to my email and that works just fine.

Holographic Shattered Dragon Wings and Spinal Blades Wings. I have two characters who use these back pieces and they should be glide-able just like all the existing wing based gliders.
The crafting market seems to have collapsed over the last month or so from my point of view. The demand driven by Raids has eased off considerably and everything I was crafting for profit has dried up. And by profit, I mean considerable per item not silver/copper per craft but gold per craft.
Collapsed? No. Become significantly less profitable? Of course, whenever the supply starts to match the supply and demand tapers off, there is always less profit.
So much less profitable it’s not worth the risk of being undercut or worth my time so to me it has collapsed but for TP ‘grinders’ I suppose there are a few bits of meat on the bone you can compete with the other vultures for.
So how am I supposed to know what IP address to ping plot? Running netstat -a with and without GW2 running I see some differences, but nothing is standing out.
Has anyone noticed extreme skill lag lately? For example I played all day Saturday just fine, but then Saturday night all of a sudden my skills started lagging, and then near complete lockup. I tried rebooting my router and my cable model, but the problem only got slightly better. This happened last weekend as well. It seems like the Anet servers are getting loaded up somehow and it seems to happen more in some areas than others.
I am now just about completely broke after completing Nevermore. I scraped every corner of my bank for anything worth anything but I got my shiney. I now have less than 10 gold and two Crystalline Ingots (plus nine black diamonds) as the start of a little nest egg for the next set if we ever see them.

I always use the 10 clover recipe and actually hope to NOT get clovers as the T6 rewards can be fabulous. Once I get 70 I go back to the single recipe.
What comes out of salvaging infused rings that does not come out of regular ascended rings?
It was a bit of a challenge to get all the masteries, but it really didn’t take that long other than a few very frustrating adventures. I certainly don’t feel I had to do a lot of grinding, but I did burn through all the experience boosters I had. Doing DS with full experience boost makes quite short work of leveling up.
Before I adopted the hold space bar while running off a ledge approach I can’t tell you how many times I attempted to double tap, and failed, and losing altitude often cost you missing some long glide target. What was worse is that sometimes it didn’t fail and even though I was gliding I hit space again in panic and closed the glider by mistake. There are two places in the raids where your in a panicked hurry and just holding space will get you through but a second or more of falling, wipes the raid or the event.
I also spent a bundle on a new mechanical keyboard because my space bar was sloppy on my existing keyboard which was well worn, but not cheap, just to tighten up my jumping as you have to get an accurate tap without holding it to long.
Double tap is not a good solution either as many keyboards are kind of sloppy on the space bar and the whole lag issue could cause lots of ‘failure to deploy’ deaths.
When first learning gliding I use to jump off the edge (with space) and then hit space again to deploy, but now I hold space BEFORE running off the edge to insure I get the glider to deploy. Maybe the logic can detect your ‘state’ somehow and not deploy if your about to land on something solid or if there are ‘obstacles’ in the area that could tangle your glider or something.

There does need to be some kind of fix for the jumping issue, but a new key is not one of them. I am already over full on keys that I need to learn/use and this brings up this stupid special action key which is only used in raids. WHY DID THEY DO THIS? Having 5 seconds to detect I HAVE A BOMB, figure out where I need to throw it, get over there, and then remember to press this new useless key is near impossible. Please don’t add another key for gliding. I already have 8 buttons I am using on my mouse and over a dozen keys on my left hand (plus a few more based on profession).
The longer the jump, the longer I hold down the space key. I know it’s wrong, but it’s ingrained in my reflexes as I have spent so much time jumping without a glider. I agree some kind of disable or change in behavior is needed.
I would rather see food buff stacking so you could consume a few at a time rather than having food consumed automatically. Also a sound indicating food wore off would be nice or maybe an emote like “I am hungry”.

HoT gave GW2 new life for me, so no I do not agree. The new maps are so 3D that the rest of the game feels flat now. Why glide if there is really no reason to switch levels?
Why are so many people complaining about the size of the expansion when everything they release until the next expansion is FREE????
FREE story, FREE raids, FREE legendary weapons, FREE fractals (assuming they add more), FREE WvW rework, maybe even a FREE map or more? Who knows at this point, but since you don’t have to shell out another penny why don’t you just wait and see?
My primary complaint is the mega-servers. Something should be done to fix all the taxi service needed to build a good map. And if you crash you should be able to get back to the map you where on. In fact you should be able to zone out to another map and come back within some timeout window to the same map.

I managed to get on a good map tonight and we got the T4 night meta. It’s very discouraging at first as we spread out well and I think we had level 5 camps everywhere but the map status was only T2. Killing all the bosses somehow got us to T4 and we even had almost 10 minutes to spare.

I tried that many times this weekend but I guess I was not lucky enough to look at the correct time. My attempts to taxi people in was even less successful.

So is T4 during day required to have T4 night be possible?

I have tried a few strategies myself. At first I would stay at one camp and try and do nearby events, but that doesn’t work so well at many camps as there seems to be little activity so I tried just roaming, which got me many more events but left camps undefended and they would just fall.
I also tried popping my tag, but not knowing what the best thing to do was all I could do was gather a crowd. Many tags let people know the map is ‘organized’ and lack of tags seems to indicate no one cares about the meta and everyone is just trying to get help with HPs.
How many camps are there and how many need to be at what level to get T4? What impact do the boss battles have on the map level?

You need to have the collection open to get the strap and it will only drop once for you. I just have not seen a night map get even close to T4, only T3 at best and often not even T2. How many commanders do you need? There are so many camps to try and cover, I am curious what the best strategy is.

I just started the Magisters Pack collection recently and have been trying for the strap repeatedly but I have been unable to find a map going for T4 at night. It happens during the day often, but the time is pretty short at night and the events don’t seem to move the needle very much.
I tried to do some taxiing as well as look for taxis but they don’t seem to be working/active for this map at night. Any ideas?

I had turned my textures up to high and crashed in DS for the first time in months. Back at medium and I had no problems until noxious pod farming when my lag went off the chart, but I think that was a different issue I had not experienced before.

All collections are completely optional and allow the user to participate in a scavenger hunt if they so choose. Is the reward worth the effort? That is up to you. I crafted Twilight after doing the Dusk collection, and I am working on Nevermore’s components after finishing the collection, which I thought was kind of cool raising a chick and teaching it to fly etc.
Flying in Tyria – GREAT! (But I would have thought that would have come with HoT release. I realize the scope of that feature and I would wager you where already working on it at it was obviously a great feature everyone would want, not something you ‘reacted’ to just delayed until now, when it was ‘ready’.)
Option to show objects – GREAT! (But why would something so simple take so long? My cramped CTRL pinky still can’t help itself however, I still find myself holding it down!)
Overall I didn’t feel the release was very big as other than the two things above I was not really impacted by it. Balance for the most part was PvP focused and that is not something I do often, and Shatterer is no longer a snooze fest but there is no real reward to go kill it. Raids got harder with a few skill nerfs so that doesn’t really make my life any better.
What happened to the compact items ‘fix’? It’s still just a few pixels away from really ticking me off.

If you do the next level of collection to get the Ascended version, won’t it be Account Bound at that point?
Deposit should be an icon, not a menu option, and compact should have a disable option as I never want my inventory messed with.
Looking at all of the screenshots and videos, they all seem to be pre-HoT, BEFORE they added orange circles, which seem to obscure the already hard to see whirlpools. I don’t see how you know which circle will kill you and which circle will suck you in.
Four attempts now, still no clue how to end up in the whirlpool. I turned my graphics up and thought maybe I saw a whirpool behind him, but nothing but orange circles and death in front of him. Every map I go to gets fully loaded with people and we always win with a ton of time to spare. This was REALLY bad design for a collection item.
So I have stood between his front feet, and out in front of him, and even heard the warning about the whirlpool, but I never saw ANYTHING to indicate where it was.

The expansion was targeted at end game content, challenging and interesting content, not skip through the tulips occasionally pressing 1 content. Yes there is a learning curve, and yes many of the Hero Points require some help, but some of those in Orr required some help as well. I still have trouble getting to some of the events in Tangled Depths, but no where do I have trouble getting around in general.
I had taken a break from GW2 after LS2 ended, but I look forward to playing every night now. The collections have me going all over the place and doing things I would not normally do. (I do however feel that the challenge requirements where set to high in a few cases causing extreme, but fortunately limited frustration now that they are behind me.)
I feel the added difficulty has added much to the community involvement. Just the other night I saw about 50 Tutor tags in a massive zerg running through all the HPs in TD. The challenge was to keep up because everything was being burned in a really short time. Lots of people will tag up and lead DS, TD, or Auric lanes. Lots of people are taxiing people into maps to get the population up to handle the meta. (Solving the mega-server issues should be a top priority for one of the updates this year however.)

The problem is the availability of T5 dust and T6 orbs. They are both RNG only and very limited in where you can even try. This was exactly how Charged lodestones where, but now they drop in many places and you only need 100, not over 2000!
Whats a twin finger? I have tried twice now and I all see are his four legs and the other tentical fingers.

This reminds me of spending hours farming Sparks for Charged Lodestones hoping for one drop and worrying about diminishing returns. Much later they started dropping in a number of places. Everything else is reasonable about the new Legendary crafting process but 2250 orbs is just ridiculous considering how RNG they are to acquire. The crafting process is ridiculous but considering I can’t even get enough orbs to make 5 a night that isn’t bothering me so much.
I would think if they sold an account wide key ring in the gem store for a REASONABLE amount almost everyone would buy one. Of course that would eat into their inventory bag slot sales so they might need to price it higher than most people would find reasonable. It would save a ton of storage slots, but it’s more about the convenience for me.
DS has a ridiculously short timer and hostile mobs compared with NO timer in VB or TD and an easy timer in AB so DS drops should be MUCH better to balance them.
AB, the only other timed ‘looting’ phase has all of the chests in a nice compact and easy to find space where as DS you have to scramble all over the map with little chance of getting them all. The ‘keys’ are also much more expensive so much adjustment is needed.
I like outfits with the exception of the dye limitation. You can only have ONE set of dyes that applies to all of your outfits, I think just for that character. Outfits are easy to switch, but NOT if you have to reapply all the dyes every time you do.
That being said I wish there where not only more armor skins, I want to be able to craft them as well. It would be cool to ‘earn’ the ability to craft an armor skin and make some money on the TP off of that. Skins, not actual armor because of all the stats to choose from.
Having to equip and remember to unequip all those tools would be bothersome, plus the different effects make them still very viable but for the many who have more than one salvage-o-matic maybe we could trade them in for an extra slot instead of getting refunds? Or maybe two slots for the price of one and turning in a salvage-o-matic?
I have always been driven by the bling and there are lots of new collections to work on which will take you all over the game. I am at 162 of 163 mastery points so that journey is almost complete for me but I am working on two Precursors with lots more to do there and a I have my eye on a third to start pretty soon.
Why not go farm some lemon grass, craft half and sell the rest to cover the cost of the pasta?
This just hit me tonight, was not a problem last night.

My issue is that the ’cost’s are so different. Gathering 75 of all those tokens is a lot of work and it’s not saving you much of anything. Are the new stats supposed to be more powerful than the old ones? Is that why there insignia’s/inscriptions have to be ‘jeweled’? You should get an upgrade extra slot or something if you ‘jewel’ them.
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Any of the new gear, like Viper’s can be crafted much easier by just making a version with the already existing stats and transforming it in the Mystic Forge at the cost of 5 Ecto and some spirit shards. (Because the Exotic Viper’s Insignia/Inscription is already part of the Ascended Insignia/Inscription recipe.)
Am I missing something? Why would anyone take the time to acquire all those tokens for Fulgurite? I plan on keeping all of mine for the Maguma Mastery Legendary recipe.
I had to get silver on Fallen Masks to get my Reaper’s GS and that cause way to much grief and it was in NO WAY fun. Raging frustration is the primary response to many of the adventures due to the bar being set to high on some which prevents reasonable efforts to complete your masteries. Bronze and Silver should be mastery worthy with Gold reserved for titles or something like that.
Even some of the Silver bars need to be lowered even if they did lower the mastery levels.
Viper is awesome, but if you want an ascended item don’t waste your time crafting one, just build a pre-HoT item and transform it in the Mystic Forge to Viper.
