Not sure if it has been mentioned and I’d like to read every post, but time is tight. So here goes my input, which focuses on the continuity of the living story. I wrote this around Queen’s Jubilee patch (edited and added things now), but still stands true, more so than before due to not being any changes to this:

What happened to the people that were suppossed to get their homes/jobs back after the Shining Blade finished repairs on the Great Collapse? What about Riot Alice? Didn’t even matter. Was never mentioned. No dialogues outside cutscenes and the forced comedy pair of the minstrel and the drone. No mention of the noises that were being heard down there. NPC’s still have that chapter’s dialogues. Someone just decided to completely delete that part of the game and build on top of it without further explanation or consequences.

http://i.imgur.com/G5QbfVS.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/lyZYWtu.jpg

What happened to Mai Trin? Why is she stuck in that cell for months (in-game time too) without even a different dialogue considering Aetherblades have been a big part of this “living” story and all that has happened?

http://i.imgur.com/wqTXb1f.jpg

What happened to Kiel? She won the election and now she’s standing on the same spot for over a month, they didn’t even bother to move her out of the fountain, just built on top of her with the same dialogue. (They moved her out now, but same dialogue.)

http://i.imgur.com/86ueJS4.jpg

What about Braham and Ottilia? She was going to leave with a merchant and go on her merry way MONTHS ago. But she’s still sitting there. Braham still crying about it with her three feet away, with no mention of whatever happened in the pavilion. Cragstead is the same as before, stuck in time. On that note also, it justt pooped out of nowhere, which makes little to no sense. This has improved with other updates gladly.

Honor Guards are still waiting for emmisaries, for what? It’s over. Should have been removed a LONG time ago.

We got “invaded” across 13 different maps (more like invaded random patches of wilderness standing to be killed). And still are. But it has no real impact. It doesn’t change anything. I doubt anyone even cared, they just wanted to farm it.

Zephyrites? The dark magic/hidden stuff in the sanctum? Will we have to wait another year to see the next part in that story? Which was really interesting actually, so I hope it’s not like Halloween where we wait one year for the next part.

What happened to The Pact? The Vigil? The Order? The Durmand Priory? Everyone related to the “personal story”? Destiny’s Edge? What’re they so busy about always sending us to do stuff without taking part? After over a year they’ve not considered at all facing Elder Dragons or champions? Just sit there saying they’re busy without commenting what’s going on? I understand it has taken a lot of time and deaths, and need to recover, but little updates on activities would makes us feel more involved… plus, we’re the kitting second in command, yet we have nothing to say or do or even been informed of.

I think I wouldn’t even mind if we weren’t forced to swallow the living world concept, that its an ever changing evolving world. Call it “story” and no one would mind it. But, as with the personal story, you’re selling us something that you’re not delivering as expected.

You sell us bacon, and give us ham.

On a positive note: for example, what you did with the next update was really interesting. There was no mention of it and we just had to find it by chance and word of mouth. That’s the kind of mystery and introduction to updates that, I’m sure, most like to have.

Also, I’m sure no one would mind not having updates every two weeks, don’t force yourselves. Quality over quantity. I think it’s both tiring for us and for your teams.

ANET aren’t really the bad guys, NCSOFT on the other hand… though yes, the story -and lore- could be better and that’s entirely up to the free resource of creativity and thoughts, althought might be limited by tangible resources, of which the latter company is responsible for.

Thanks. I did look over that page, but I still don’t understand whatever happened to the Elder Dragons. Isn’t the whole of GW2 supposed to be, Elder Dragon threat rose up, all Tyrians must set aside their differences and band together for the good of all the land?

Or is it more like, ‘Just kidding, let’s throw another party’…?

They’re obviously cowering in fear of little miss perfect scarlet. It’s a bloody shame too, seeing as they explicitly said that there will NOT be any new zones or any new news about the ED for the rest of this year. And honestly, all they have to do is TEASE about a new dragon champ from an unseen ED (doesn’t even have to be anything major, they could do something like a different kralky champ flying over the black citadel once every couple real life days, or even icebrood being more aggressive in terms of gaining territory) and I’m pretty sure quite a few people will be suddenly hyped about the LS.

Something like this, in style of the most recent happenings in Kessex Hills, would greatly motivate the playerbase. Wasn’t in the patch notes. No one said anything. It just popped there. Someone found out, said it, spread and there you go. That would give the LS story, you know, a “living” feeling.

On an unrelated side note, ANET got problems naming their concepts. Personal story? Barely personal. Living story? Barely living.

If they would just name what they’re delivering, there wouldn’t be as many rants…

Well, Halloween is somewhat interesting, but you can play that now. Nothing new from any dragon, except that Tequatl has been gathering power from something or someone. Some believe this could be tied to a dragon, Zhaitan within the possibilities.

As we allied, so have been the “evil” ones too, so it seems: Molten Alliance (Dredge+Flame Legion), Aetherblades (Interracial pirates, no Sylvari though+Inquest), Nightmare Court with Aetherblades, and upcoming Nightmare Court with Krait. All orchestated by Scarlet, a bad weed from the Pale Tree, which kills any hope of interesting story so far.

Missing the last few updates (Tequatl, Twilight Assault and Halloween I think). Which don’t really have much story-wise anyway.

Not much has been explained really, and the story feels like something out of a indian street food cart.

Queen Jennah has simply discovered that shoes are overrated, and lives her life barefoot. Think of how much money she has saved the kingdom, not having to buy her shoes for every occasion! ;-)

Seriously though, there are at least a handful of us devs who practice a barefoot lifestyle. I’m sure some people will always think it’s “weird”, but at least around the studio, it’s become just another facet in a diverse workplace.

Also, it was mentioned in an interview they’re going to start merging them. First evidence of that would be Tequatl. We will see.

Their thoughts, their emotions, do not get transferred.

I have to disagree here. I’ve just finished completing the Grove on my alt, and the dialogues are filled with this. One sylvari can -at least at some rate- sense what the other one is feeling. This wouldn’t be possible without the Dream, thus emotions must be transferred and can be sensed by others, or at least by someone whom is closely connected to the first sylvari.

I’d say the Blood Witch and other similar ranking krait are -or were, actually- religious leaders of some sort, just not the most powerful krait around. They’re a highly religious society. Also, slaves are mostly sacrificed for their religious purposes, or to be eaten. So they might not be THE religious leader, but must be a high ranking religious “officer” of sorts.

I will take on the bet, 50 gold that it is not tied to Scarlet.

Regarding this, in Metrica Province, the Luminates Krewe is in charge of testing prototypes and supplying energy for the creation of a new city. There could be a tie between both.

Out of curiosity, how active is the guild nowadays? I was there several months ago, but at most there were four people online when I was… and guild missions were the thing back then, so I needed an active guild for that (still do).

It is lonely being 1 out of 500 interested on talking lore in guilds, most of the time they’re just my quick group finding assests than guildies I’m interested to talk or listen to.

If there’s no trouble with multiple repping -I rep TTS to get Tequatl kills, reason I had to leave my other guild actually just now- I’d be grateful to get an invite.

I’m not getting hyped. Since the fiasco that it was the suppossed great announcement of Queen Jennah. Which later we got in a short out-of-game note and didn’t have anything that mattered at all.

Better be something good, and something soon, too. This story has been stretched already too thin.

Nevertheless, the Malyck theory does sound intresting. But that would possibly imply new maps, and we’re not getting them at least until next year.

Question: The Catacombs (GW1)

Eluveitie.1290

Would make perfect sense to have that somewhere in the gardens at Divinity’s Reach.

But I think a tendency I’ve noticed is that Tyrians now generally don’t tend to look back much at the past; except of course for the Priory, historians, scholars, people interested in history, etc. And have a more live the present/worry about the future mindset. So probably not many would be interested at looking back at old/dead languages.

Who was King Roderick?

in Lore

Posted by: Eluveitie.1290

Eluveitie.1290

I read a lower line that just makes mention of the eldest son being an elementalist and Emilane being a ranger (kindasorta). How Emilane’s talked about sounds like she’s the only daughter though – “They’re scholars. The oldest boy’s an elementalist… What’s the princess? The girl with the really curly hair?” The use of ‘the princess’ implies to me that there’s only one.

However, the mention of three fine sons and daughters is, in full “Three fine sons and daughters to choose from, and Baede chooses Edair?” This implies that in total there are three; it’d be synonymous with saying “three fine children”. It’s an odd way of writing it out, but when using “sons and daughters” in this sense typically means “children” rather than “at least two sons and at least two daughters.”

As for dates – King Mazdak comes from sylvari lvl 28 Priory storyline and an interview between GuildMag and Anet (the latter saying that it was a prince of Orr who founded Kryta; the former saying that Mazdak founded Kryta while humanity was young on Tyria), and there’s an Orrian History Scroll in Shelter Docks, Malchor’s Leap which also says king Doric sent people to Kryta and Ascalon. Oswald Thorn’s reign end date is from last Halloween which says he died 500 years ago (it’s likely rounded so no exact date is known though). Jadon’s date is from GW1, he fled during the Charr Invasion which took place between 1070 and 1071. Salma’s is from the novel timelines and War in Kryta from GW1. Baede is from Sea of Sorrows. Roderick is from the line quoted above. Jennah’s father is from the Dead Sister storyline’s final step (gotta talk to Logan before fighting bandits). Jennah is from Queen’s Jubilee content.

As to the Whispers agent… can’t explain. But he doesn’t say Mazdak himself is a champion from Ascalon, technically speaking – he just says that there’s a tomb to the north of an “ancient war leader of Ascalon.” It likely may be a remnant from earlier development that got overlooked – there’s quite a bit of that among the Whispers dialogues, interestingly enough – or a typo. Or more than just Mazdak was buried there (which is true…).

Thanks for clarifying the sons & daughters part, that had me confused so I assumed they just didn’t mention the other children.

Ah, “Dead Sister”, haven’t done that one. Good to know that part and the ones from GW1 where I’m not at still. I find it odd there’s no in-game historical royal line anywhere or in any way – as far as I know. Would be interesting to have a concise timeline about that from Kryta, Ascalon and Orr.

And yes, I’m inclined to believe it’s an overlook as well.

Who was King Roderick?

in Lore

Posted by: Eluveitie.1290

Eluveitie.1290

The OP quotes the sole mention of this guy in the game.

Given the timeline, he’d have to be Jennah’s father or grandfather (unless her uncle or some such took the throne before her father). All depending on how long her father reigned – as the date given for Roderick is 51 years prior to Jennah taking the throne, and we know that her father died for a few years before she was old enough to take the throne.

The Krytan royal lineage as we know is:

  • King Mazdak, first king, ruled prior to Exodus, son of (stupid censor) King Doric and a former prince of Orr.
  • Oswald’s father, reign unknown, full name unknown.
  • Oswald Thorn, reign ended roughly 825 AE.
  • Oswald’s cousin, reign unknown, name unknown.
  • King Jadon, reign ended in 1070/1071 AE when he fled the throne. Father of Salma.
  • Salma, crowned in 1079 AE, is said to have had a long reign (known to have fully united Kryta in 1088 AE).
  • King Baede, reigned no later than 1220 AE and died in 1256 AE. Had 3 children – Edair and Emilane, and an elementalist oldest son.
  • King Roderick, known to have reigned in ~1265 AE
  • Jennah father, name unknown, reign unknown. Died a few years before Jennah was able to take the throne (during which time Ministry took over).
  • Queen Jennah, crowned in 1316 AE.

What makes most sense would be that Roderick reigned from 1256 to 1305 or some such, being Jennah’s father and Baede’s eldest son.

In Sea of Sorrows it’s mentioned “three fine sons and daughters”, but this might be some odd wording, since its understood as if there’s at least two sons (we know this for a fact) and at least two daughters. English is not my native language, so I might have got it wrong, but in spanish translates to at least four children.

Also, mind if you give sources to the dates and such? Personally Google hasn’t helped me to bring answers to this nor the information I’ve gathered in game. Might have not taken the correct human storyline plots to find this.

Also, a bit of a derailment here, but in Gendarran Fields there’s a Whispers Agent in Applenook that mentions Mazdak being a champion from Ascalon. I’m not entirely sure this is correct in some way, the way Charr sees it or a typo from the writing team.

Eluveitie.1290

I wrote a nice post, which got lost due to a web error. So here goes the summary:

King Baede reigned until 1256 AE, when he died. Prince Edair was named heir to the throne, but we never see him being coronated. This was exactly 70 years ago.

King Roderick is said to have built the gardens over 60 years ago. So this leads me to believe Edair either, never reached the throne and one of his siblings was crowned, or his reign was a really short one. He was reckless and mad for war, I doubt he would have stayed long on a throne room watching life go by.

In Sea of Sorrows, it is mentioned the eldest (son of) King Baede was an elementalist… so I’d imagine he would be connected to Grand Wizard Garren somehow. Whatever happened to Edair, he was the next in heritage line. He had no military affiliations nor war intentions, so it’s highly likely he lived a long life

In conclusion, I do believe King Roderick was Jennah’s father.

Tequatl Rising: possible lore?

Eluveitie.1290

My guess is that it’s just technicalities. When you compare NPC’s that have been there since launch against newer ones, like Braham, you can see the difference. Also, it is intended to give us the idea that we’re heroes, and much stronger than a regular soldier.

In case of Destiny’s Edge, I do agree they’re more a burden than actual legendary heroes in battle though. In the end, makes it look more like we’re field paramedics than heroes. Hopefully will keep improving.

From the letter I also get the feeling it’s left open, to neither confirm or deny this is post-Zhaitan. And then comes all the other bits that confuse the timeline further more. I sencirely don’t get why they want to shove us this kitten concept that is messsing everything up.

Tequatl Rising: possible lore?

in Lore

Eluveitie.1290

Er…

Blazeridge is about The Shatterer (you see branded crystals called “Dragon Shards”). Frostgorge is about Claw of Jormag (you see ice shards called “Dragon Scales”).

Tequatl wasn’t flying across the continent. Hunting signs for him is only in Sparkfly.

And about them Dragon Shards, I was about to make a post regarding them…

Is this further proof that the Dragonbrand is spreading? There’s 7 crystals you hunt down that’re outside of the Dragonbrand, and 4 (arguably 5) aren’t exactly close to the Brand either.

I highly doubt it. First, because I’m sure they didn’t think of a lore reason to put them there, and second, because they have no corruption signs in the soil below them nor any sign of being an extension of The Dragonbrand in some way. I don’t think it’d be possible for just random spots of crystals sprout without a source to spread them; unless the Dragonbrand is somehow expanding only underground for some reason and it’s begining to surface in some places. My theory, however, is that they’re just random parts of the dragons that dropped off at some point while they were flying above the terrain, most likely after taking off injured (as might happen in some cases now). This doesn’t really seem to apply to Tequatl though since he goes underwater.

However, the little explanation we got as to why Tequatl is now so much stronger leaves me no shadow of doubt they are doing this all for mechanics and achievement points hunting rather than lore.

Why wasn't Almorra Soulkeeper turned?

in Lore

Posted by: Eluveitie.1290

Eluveitie.1290

The concept art cinematic shows the corruption happening in front of her. Though it’s a concept art cinematic so I doubt that it’s factual. After all, the one of the Foefire looks like a giant bomb was placed in a city that… is more similar to Divinity’s Reach then Ascalon City (different shape and all – being circular).

As for her placement – I think it was said she was returning form the western frontier, so her turning around would mean she was in the lead and those behind her got corrupted (which is, iirc, how she recounts her story).

Her being out in the open would actually match with what I said earlier, btw. The closest non-branded area is above a short edge hanging not far from the niche that the skill point is (bird’s eye, less than five feet worth).

So it could easily be that she was in the lead, they were going around a little bend of that crevice (or climbing it – straighter path), and Kralkatorrik comes. She just missed being branded while her warband, whom were behind her, were. She drops down to kill her warband.

I’d have to re-read the book, but I doubt that the skill point was put into the game before the book’s writing. Probably put in afterwards, when the map was established already.

Pages 97-98-99.

“The others turned to see what could terrify such a charr as Soulslasher, but I reached out and grabbed my friend by the shoulders to shake the fear from him. As I did, I saw the changes start to take him.”

Next pragraph is a description of the transformation. The one after that:

“And then he turned into living glass, crystallizing in an instant before my eyes into his twisted form, and at my back I could feel a presssure, like a great hand was pressing down on the entire world as the dragon passed overhead.”

In another paragraph:

“I don’t know what spared me from sharing his fate. Every other member of our warband succumbed to it. I was standing no more than a foot from Harthog, and he and the others were warped beyond recognition, yet I was spared.”

Final sentence in the next paragraph:

“The pasture [had to edit this word because of filter] shattered under my feet as I walked on it grinding it into sand.”

She was clearly inside The Dragonbrand when the corruption took place, at least from what is shown in the book, and her surprise by not being corrupted, despite being in the exact same conditions as the rest of the warband, leads to believe there was nothing that could’ve explained it logically; like standing right outside of it.

Why wasn't Almorra Soulkeeper turned?

in Lore

Posted by: Eluveitie.1290

Eluveitie.1290

@Narcemus: The skill point doesn’t mark where Almorra was when Kralkatorrik passed by, but where she killed her warband. If you take note, the skill point isn’t even 5 feet from the non-branded areas.

Yet, it is mentioned how inmmediately the conversion took place and she turned to kill them. Also, in the Vigil cutscene we see her out in the open while the corruption takes place around her.

I’ve always been curious about this and I do think there might be something else to it.

Not much I can add on here, as Konig has stated almost every possible problem I’ve concerns with.

I’ve seen many people quit because of the direction the game is taking. You can see it here, in reddit, in Guild Wars 2 guru and many more places… a lot of players are getting burned down by this living story and the rate it is being thrown at us. I know you guys are taking pride -judging by the sheer amount of interviews and the blog post- about the bi-weekly schedule because no one else does it. But you have to ask yourselves: is it really the right thing for our playerbase, for our developers and for our game? Players are getting burned down, developers seem more pressured/sloppy and the game is losing quality.

Bobby, if you would please take a look at these examples:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/lwd/A-not-so-living-world/first#post2803305

  • Yes, blatantly promoting my thread there, but those are my concerns regarding the topic at hand. I know in some of my points there’s logic to it. Like not bringing The Pact or the Orders into this living story, or not giving further development to some, like the Zephyrites (whom I hope we hear from not in a year, but sooner since it was really interesting). But they feel dead as of now. No communication, no news. They’re frozen in time. The intention was to make a living world, but in my eyes its more like giving birth on top of a dead body. Yes, that’s gruesome.

The point being, personal story and everything else before, almost never blends with the living story in a significant way. Its just covering layers over it. Best example being the invasions to give “life” to the older-dead maps in some way.

Don’t let the Pride drown the game.

P.S. Mainly talking on how lore/story is delivered and how it evolves. Mechanics, technology and whatnot is constantly improving, and happy about it.

A not so living world

in Living World

Posted by: Eluveitie.1290

Eluveitie.1290

The main problem, for me, is that the “Living World” is not a living world. It’s a step-by-step linear story focused around Scarlet and Kiel and those they interact with (Rox, Braham, Marjory, Kasmeer, and Faren mainly it seems). And with each step, the previous step is removed.

It’s like building a staircase, but to create the next stair up, ArenaNet’s removing the bottom stair.

The saddest part, is that they claim they wanted a living world from day one. Which means right off the bat they failed. Why? Release content is static, and permanent. “Living World” content is not. It comes, and it goes. It alters what it affects, and leaves everything else in place.

If they really wanted a living world, they should have begun with releasing the initial content in steps – keeping it all permanent of course. For example, just off the top of my head, releasing each chapter of the personal story every week or two, having zones that are lvl 30+ sans Gandarren (Harathi Hinterlands, Bloodtide Coast, Fields of Ruin, etc.) cut off at release, slowly accessible as more of the personal story is released.

This would not only make the content of Orr’s invasion feel like it takes more than a few hours/days (in-game it’s supposed to be “several weeks” between Forging the Pact and The Source of Orr’s completion), but it would have given ArenaNet time to improve the fight with Zhaitan and later PS which were very buggy, as well as create a sense of true preparation with the attack and retaking of Claw Island (and of course Orr), and giving us a pacing for completing the main game’s storyline.

And on top of this, only have a select portion of the full amount of available events/event chains available and slowly add the rest that were tested to work together in.

By the time we are given everything we had prior to Halloween content, it’d have been the new year. They could have put more time into The Lost Shores, into Flame and Frost, and so forth as they would have had 2-3 more months to work on them.

But that’s in the past. Nonetheless, they really messed up with their “Living World” in my opinion. (I say the same for how they treated Guild Wars 1 after announcing GW2 – should have kept working and expanding GW1 with expansions or even just BMP-sized DLCs while slowly working on GW2, again IMO).

Main point: No, this isn’t a living story or a living world. It’s just a linear story told in steps, and not giving even a wide enough change to things that are indirectly affected by the changes.

The way I see it, they’re trying too hard to be different and innovative in the MMO’s genre. That is, of course, not bad at all. But the quality of that innovation sometimes pales in comparison to the traditional way. Your last paragraph would have been, in my opinion, a much better approach than having four teams pressuring themeselves to realease and realease and release.

A living world would, well, actually have a constant evolving world. Like you say, we have a linear story told by steps. Nothing else changes or evolves. There’s so MANY lore opportunities, so many stories, mysteries, adventures and what not already, in some way or form, in the game which could be expanded on and developed. But we only get this nin-month long single story that is not really going anywhere, and seems more like a bullet ball in a closed room.

It’s really too late to think about what could have been better, but not too late to improve things. The personal story is there, nothing is going to change it. It was a big mess-up they didn’t think good enough about on how it was going to evolve after a year. I just hope they take into account the points of view from people in this forum & lore to improve the way they’re delivering their game (specially lore/story wise), which lately is sloppy. The first season of their game is over, let’s hope the second is better.

Interesting regarding how Sylvari change their appereance based on their sorroundings, context and stress levels. Not really sure if this is in-game anywhere though.

Not much else that is new, but clarifies some points here and there.

And glad they mention they will space out the Scarlet story in the next updates. Got enough of her for now.

Seems so. That was a dissapointment. I hope we stop getting festivals from now on, but oh wait… october is almost here and then wintersday. At least I hope they’re as great as they were the first time.

Lion’s Arch map, top left corner overlapping and upper side line visible.

Gendarran Fields, not sure if a bug or intended… but the snow there is exactly the same as The Shiverpeaks in-game, but on map is of sand like color for some reason?

Opinions on SAB? lore-wise

“There are some interesting things that we can get from this.

Moto seems to be an ex-member of this krewe.

Adventure Box was their project. It was promising but led to some unpleasant consequences.

Moto was expelled from this krewe after a public presentation has gone wrong. (He also made some dangerous prank during an experiment)

Moto is now taunting the krewe with Super Adventure Box."

Personally, haven’t played SAB so far yet, but this all seems to indicate there’s more to it, and ties to the first time it came about and the dialogues that sorrounded it with the Consortium and the angry asura.

Tequatl Rising: possible lore?

@Aaron and Konig

But it is still, as far as we know due to current lore, only because there has been technological interference by a third party. Humans (us) can grow a cut off finger tip theorically, but not without technological intervention. Elder Dragons theorically might be able to corrupt other minions, but perhaps can’t naturally do it without some kind of third party intervention.

I do agree with the fact that corrupted minions can be corrupted by another source (in this case, thanks to the Inquest), there’s no doubt regarding that, but no one can know for sure yet if they can be naturally corrupted.

In which case, my first post was wrongly worded. Elder Dragons might not be able to corrupt other minions. But, in my opinion, they can’t, and much less a champion.

What we see in CoE, as far as I can tell, is Inquest messing with the corruption using technology. I know Subject Alpha. I know the giant at the end of story mode. But they’ve all been product of the Inquest and their methods.

I have not seen a case where an Elder Dragon goes about corrupting minions of another Elder Dragon.

Regarding Tequatl, I agree with Aaron.

Plaguebringers could be the term The Pact and others use to refer to that type of champion, not the champions themeselves.

I think this new underwater vortex is a strange skill for an undead dragon, even if he likes swimming
Maybe Tequatl had a little run in with the underwater elder dragon and got corrupted by it or he just gets controlled by it, so that this elder dragon can control parts of Zhaitans army through Tequatl.
Or this new Tequatl is just one that escaped from Orr. Because the strongest Minions stayed near Zhaitan, while he was alive, if i remember correctly.

Elder Dragons cannot corrupt other Elder Dragon’s minions, much less a champion, so that’s unlikely.

And, as far as we know, all the champions like Tequatl have a different name and are unique. So I doubt there are several Tequatls around.

(Though it breaks inmerssion it isn’t in-game and still we were fooled with the “she’s gonna make a huge announcement” part)

New patch, new content, forget past content. That seems to be the logic around here most of the time; pile up content over content without cohesion or living world/story as it is intended to be.

Pavilion is stuck in time… what happened to the big secret Queen Jennah was going to give? To Rox and Braham?

Even more so, what happned to the people that were suppossed to get their homes/jobs back after the Shining Blade finished repairs in the ditrict? What about Riot Alice? Didn’t even matter. Was never mentioned. No dialogues outside cutscenes and the forced comedy pair of the minstrel and the drone. No mention of the noises that were being heard down there.

http://i.imgur.com/lyZYWtu.jpg

What happened to Mai Trin? Why is she stuck in that cell for months (in-game time too) without even a different dialogue considering Aetherblades have been a big part of this “living” story and all that has happened?

http://i.imgur.com/wqTXb1f.jpg

What happened to Kiel? She won the election and now she’s standing on the same spot for over a month, they didn’t even bother to move her out of the fountain, just built on top of her with the same dialogue.

http://i.imgur.com/86ueJS4.jpg

What about Braham and Ottilia? She was going to leave with a merchant and go on her merry way MONTHS ago. But she’s still sitting there. Braham still crying about it with her three feet away, with no mention of whatever happened in the pavilion. Didn’t even bother to check Rox after this. Cragstead is the same as before, stuck in time.

Honor Guards are still waiting for emmisaries, for what? It’s over.

We just got “invaded” across 13 different maps (more like invaded random patches of wilderness standing to be killed).

Heralds got nothing to say.

Marjory? Kasmeer? Canach? Mr. E? Zephyrites? The dark magic/hidden stuff in the sanctum?

What happened to The Pact? The Vigil? The Order? The Durmand Priory? Everyone related to the “personal story”? Destiny’s Edge? What’re they so busy about always sending us to do stuff? After over a year they’ve not considered at all facing Elder Dragons or champions? Just sit there saying they’re busy without commenting what’s going on?

Living World is slowly burning Tyria to the ground.

Zhaitan IS dead. Confirmed (perhaps not strongly enough for some apparently) in-game and by devs.

In the video it says he’s been gathering power and that it has returned. Ignoring that it spawns every three hours… the first time we confront Tequatl, we defeat him and he returns to the water, as seen upon his defeat. But not killed.

Probably meaning all this time he has been harnessing power from something, perhaps Zhaitan’s renmant magic, magical artifacts in the depths or something else to be thrown at us.

I do hope there’s a logical explanation to this change and not just a random buff.
