I’d scream like a maniac RALLY TO ME ASCALONIANS ARGHHHHHH !!!!
I don’t know if this was stated before, but i’d love to hear some lines more loud,
For example, the famous “RALLY TO ME ASCALONIANS”, it felt great you know, the man is determined to stand until the bitter end despite all the odds are against him,
There’s several other lines who were great, but lacking that “tone of voice more loud”,
Sometimes it feels like the actors cannot scream because they parents may woke up,
It would be too dificult do all this work again?
Norns are actually not related to humans in any way. You have to think of them as mythological giants, really. Shape-shifting viking giants.
This. They probably don’t even originate on the same planet (humans aren’t from Tyria).
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,
Are we talking about PvE? WvW? Spvp? Dungeons? Fractals?
In WvW there’s 2 viable builds, both of them above the average,
In Spvp almost any build is completly viable,
In my opinion our best outcome comes from the management of conditions, nobody can do that better than us,
Also we are good duelists, however we have not chance against many classes mainly due our sluggish cast times, (for example countless people claim in this forum that the ranger sucks, obviously they never fought a good one interrupting you the whole fight),
This thread makes me laugh, people arguing each other, (many of them self claimed pros making broadcasts, videos, Q&A and kitten), but nobody asked if we are we talking about PvE? WvW? Spvp? Dungeons? Fractals?
It all depends on your build and the context,
If i could ask for a boost it would be a reduce in cast times, in this game the difference between .5 and .25 is crucial and most of our skills are not that “shocking” to justify such cast times,
Maybe is a L2 kitten ue as talentless, (the noob’s worst nightmare in WvW) said, maybe i shouldn’t face this classes by myself, but i find myself helpless against some classes when I’m trying to hold a point and they interrupt me, push me, knock me down the whole fight and i can’t cast a single hability,
(edited by Engels.8537)
Hopefully my minions other than Flesh Golem gets regeneration outside of combat.
Nice one,
I also think about spectral armor, and considering such high cooldown some buff, maybe stability for a few seconds,
For example… in a chess game, player 1 uses the same 6 move check mate over and over… player 2 must learn to counter that move. Once player 2 learns to counter that move, player 1 must learn a new strategy or constantly lose to player 2.
Because we all know and it’s a public knowledge that if a thief who plays chess didn’t win after the sixth turn 6 doing the same over and over and over again his head explodes and his opponent automatically win…
I’m not very good at english but i’m pretty good at logic and this made me laugh so hard… don’t try to justify the unjustifiable,
Oh… and in a chess game the thief would run away before loosing,
(edited by Engels.8537)
I’m argentino but +1 to all you guys !
So… let me know what do you think, are you afraid to be nerfed? Are you expecting to be buffed? We won’t see any major change?
My thoughts are…
1) Some abilities are now more reliable, (dark path, corrupt boon, etc),
2) Reanimator goes to hell, (or as a major trait and improved),
3) Protection of the horde goes to hell, (or as a major trait),
4) Cast times on some abilities are reduced,
5) DS UI improved,
6) Life siphon improved,
And of course a bunch of bugs that i’m not even going to mention, for example plage form radius, condition duration runes, etc etc etc,
I don’t know you guys, but i would not use minions ever just because the stupid appearance they have, (even if they are buffed in the future i will not use them, ever),
I’d wish to have 8 skeletons with the same aspect from diablo 2 instead of these abominations to the good taste,
I beg your pardon sir, but how much time have you spent on Spvp?
Oh boy…
Necros excel at manipulating conditions, unfortunately we apply conditions too slow, that’s the reason we need precision to apply more bleeding, that’s why more precision = more condition damage,
I
Concerning about power and condition damage, that’s my opinion, i really doubt you have invested half of the time i did on Spvp, but i won’t discuss about this, I tried it and it was ineffective, maybe it works for somebody else,
Roaming alone with a necro is safe?
What i’m doing wrong, sir? (besides wasting time answering you",
My best advice to you is to read more and write less, at least be more humble and kind,
Copying a build from a great player as nemesis does not allow you to rant about other players, plus there’s no best build, the best one is the more suitable to your own playstyle,
I’m talking from my own experiencie, it worked absolutly great, rabid on my necro was the best setup that I tried, i’m not saying that is the best, but is not bad either,
Regards,
(edited by Engels.8537)
@Jazhara Knightmage
Good to know the game uses 3 physical cores, that’s great !!! Kudos to Anet,
On the other hand i’ll assume that you are from EEUU, in my country (Argentina) a high end new computer it’s something expensive, (around a whole salarie), so i always try to find the best relation between price and performance for my customers,
Anyway as you said RAM memories are not that expensive, but i still think that 16GB is a “little bit too much”, i’d wish put that money somewhere else, probably on the vga,
The VGA looks awesome and it’s pretty cheap !!! i’ll check a little bit more,
Thanks for the usefull info !
My reaction to realizing that this is in fact Trahearne’s personal story, and not my own.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I can’t stop and i’m at work kitten youuuuuuuu HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
(edited by Engels.8537)
Of course it would be extremely OP,
I cannot imagine the magnitude of devastation that this army would leave behind his ruthless march,
Paired with the chiken under steroids, the two bigger rats, the kittenroach and the ballon… just one word, unstopable…
(edited by Engels.8537)
I’d recomend you to buy a desktop,
Rules of thumb for a new gaming computer,
1) Most games use two cpus at most, so the hyper-threading won’t do any, an i5 3570k is the best choise,
2) 16gb ram is ridiculous, if you are going to run 10 applications at the same time and play guildwars2 then yes,
3) Buy ATI instead of Nvidia, you will say “that guy in the forum with a lot of grammar errors was right, thanks god i heard him”,
4) Hard drive doesn’t matter when we are talking about games,
5) Two vga’s is unnecesary, just make sure you buy a good one,
6) And please buy a good power supply, don’t save money on this one,
I don’t see this working in any scenario except in PvE and still being much worse than any other class in berserker,
Am I missing something about this build?
A light armor class with the worst mobility among the eight classes, with a medium range weapon and no toughness at all it’s a suicide in my opinion,
I could understand this kind of aproach with a thief having the best damage mitigation and mbility in game, (and even with medium armor) or a warrior with a rifle,
I can’t check the videos right now, (i’m at work with no access to youtube),
I want 30 seconds of my life back….
I laughed so loud with this,
If you want a condition necro go full rabid, condition damage DOES NOT scale in a linear way as most people think, it scale with precision due barbed precision and sigil of earth,
Power and condition damage should not be mixed, but that’s my opinion,
Aside from that i love to roam with my necro, but it’s not safe at all,
And weapon setup for a condition necro is Staff // Scepter – Dagger,
Nup, there´s no such thing at the moment,
I like it,
On the other hand i don’t like the human male voice,
If you look at the explanation of a legendary, way way back before the game launched I believe, it states legendary weapons are supposed to show your mastery of the game. As you said, “It only shows a player spent a lot of time grinding and grinding”. I do sincerely hope this wasn’t intended to be mastery of the game.
They also said guardians are viable with a condition spec,
In the end it doesn’t matter what Anet says,
If you want something that proves you are a great player, go for a Spvp title,
If something impress me when I see other player is a Marauder title or above,
A shiny sword, (pretty common nowdays) does not,
Plus they are worthless, if at least they would have a little edge in the stats maybe then i’d give a kitten about getting one,
Why do you care about legendaries?
It only shows a player spent a lot of time grinding and grinding,
If you want to show the rest you have mastered the game, then go for a title instead of a shiny useless sword,
In fact, to be honest, best players don’t wear legendaries, because they spend time playing against humans and learning the game instead of glitching dungeons and mobs,
And after all, this is just a game, try to enjoy it aiming to your legendary or aiming to be a great player,
Best regards,
Who solo caps camps? I get the impression you’ve lost what we’re talking about some where.
I solo camps with my condition necro in a tier 1 server, (jade quarry), it’s not a big deal,
Back on topic…
50% of the classes in this game have no chance to escape from me, and I mean “no chance at all”, (warriors // guardians // necros and engineers),
25% are able to escape sometimes, (rangers with leaps or entangle and mesmers with teleport),
The last 25%, (thief and d/d ele), will likely be able to scape,
All that we need to be a great attrition class is a reliable dark path,
DS has some sinergy with condition builds, you just need to get in and get out all the time, and use your attack number #4 smartly,
Aside from that you can use DS to diminish some damage, but it sucks, i’m completly sure our LF bar is smaller than our HP pool, because after the third hit your LF is caput,
In fact, I don’t like to use DS as a defensive asset, (sometimes I prefer to take some hits instead of burning my life force), instead i use it as a offensive one,
Anyway i’d love to see some “bleeding” on the attack #1, (or poison),
Oh… and dark path needs to be more reliable and faster,
In that case the necromancer would be a real attrition class,
And +1 to this,
I think it is a misconception that we have more viable builds than other classes. Our builds are just more normalized across the board than other classes. When a class has a really REALLY strong build (like shatter mesmers), all the other builds are looked at as not viable, because of that. It is very hard to like a mesmer build that doesn’t have 30 points in their fifth tree.
It isn’t an issue of viability, but rather of balance. If all the classes builds were as balanced as the necro (in traits), they would have the diversity we do. Of course the flip side of that is, those classes better get ready for the nerf bat on their favorite builds. Based on that state of the game conversation, it looks like thieves sub. builds are finally going to get the hammer in WvW, which should encourage them to branch out and try other things, same with the shatter mesmers if they change that build.
As far as DS is concerned, no matter how you are using it, the problem with it is that it restricts excellence. There is only so many things you can do in DS (4 things to be exact). No matter how good you are, you can only do those 4 things. You lose access to utilities, passive healing, activing healing, ultimate, your normal UI screen.
On a personal note, I don’t mind all that, except the loss of the UI. Losing information on my debuffs/buffs makes me want to cry. I can’t even make an informed decision on if I should drop out and transfer/eat conditions because I don’t know what is on me.
But if someone is really into soccer, he wants to know about…:
You must be the first person “really into” who says “soccer” instead of football,
WvW is competitive, it’s not a personal competition is a group competition and you feel really involved in your server war,
Some people is so disgusting…
Anet did a great job with this, and i’m 100% that has been done with the best of the intentions, introducing new people on wvw, kudos for that !
But Esoteric.5490 is completly right, and i sense a lot of prejudice in this post,
1) I don’t like the fact the guy is republican,
2) I don’t like his nickname,
3) I hate black gate,
4) I hate commanders,
Despite all the prejudice, (in fact all the things above are not true, they were just examples) i can see clearly his point and it’s not disgusting at all,
What’s the difference between a cosmetic title and a cosmetic legendary weapon?
Don’t be hypocrites…
How much did you work to get it? How would you feel if somebody tell you “your legendary weapon will be removed”
I got 15000 kills in WvW and i don’t give a kitten, (i’m a well rounded player, from spvp to pve and wvw),
I’m working for my ransacker title at the moment, and i can assure i would put a scream on the sky if suddenly my title is removed,
The learning curve is high, really high,
I admit we got some serious issues, our trait tree is a example,
Anyway the necro is in a good place right now,
The play stile is reactive, that means you are always acting acording your oponent,
This play stile is always, in any game and any place the hardest to master, because you don’t have a plan, you don’t have a combo, you don’t have the iniciative, you need to think fast and react even faster,
Plus this play stile, in any game is the less popular, because you need to use your brain instead hitting like a maniac your keyboard, (some people even say there’s a class you can play with a mouse and one key, the number “2”),
(edited by Engels.8537)
“A bad player behind most classes is a bad player” and “A bad player behind a necro is useless”,
“A good player behind most classes is a good player” and “A good player behind a necro is mediocre”,
“A great player behind most classes is a great player” and “A great player behind a necro… is godlike”,
GOGOGOGOGO JQ !!!
I play a Thief and a Mesmer and Thieves are fine. My Mesmer is much more powerful than my Thief. I get one person down on my thief and spend all my effort trying to stomp them. I get one person down on my Mesmer and I pray that 4 people try to rez and then blow them all to hell.
Yeah because we all know stomping with a thief is almost impossible…
And then with the “I can blow 4 guys in a sec with my mesmer”, i’ll assume that you play against horrible players or, more probably, the only class you played is a thief,
I play a thief and a ranger, If you have no clue why people complain about thieves, then you have no clue how balance works in games.
High Damage/High Mobility/Stealth combination (with a crap ton of defense and heals in this game) will always be overpowered in every game you have that combination.
The fact that you get the other things now is what makes Thieves really over the top.
Now i could somewhat understand if the class required a high skill cap, But it doesn’t…..It requires the least amount of skill in the game to be successful at….
But don’t worry, I highly doubt they’ll nerf you.. so you’re safe on that front…
This and this, +1
Nobody that have played another class than a thief will say “thieves are ok”, (we are talking about WvW, Spvp without culling, mobs around and big open places is another story and thieves are perfectly ok),
But that’s the problem, many people just play thieves and they can´t see the other face of the coin,
So my advice is avoid talking about balance if you only play one class,
And thieves are far away to be UP on PvE, the problem lies much deeper, you cannot 22222222 mobs, you need to L2P (i know thieves love to say l2p),
The HUGE problem with this game is that combat on WvW, (I repeat, WvW Spvp is another story), revolves around 3 principles,
1) High burst damage
2) Damage avoidance
3) Mobility
Now tell me a class that combines all this in a perfect way.. and there you are, did you realize why thieves are op now?
I hope this will be legible,
the radius of geomancy is tiny, you need to be on melee,
I prefer sigil of earth, and anyway any class can do that with that sigil, specially warriors on melee range,
You do realize that you can reapply multiple conditions faster than any other class.
Please tell me the name of that game,
No, seriously… that sentence was hilarious, we apply conditions really slow, we manage conditions really well,
You do realize that not only can you reapply conditions faster than any other class, that you can remove boons, and turn boons into conditions.
That’s just one utility skill, plus sometimes don’t work, too much explanation instead of saying “corrupt boon”,
Instead of watching grammar errors on others and unload your own frustation on the rest i’d recomend you to learn to the game, that’s the reason of this forum,
You really need another account (Bhawb) to support everything you say?
Only thing we can do better than the rest, (i’m a condition necro i can´t talk about power necros, i tried a time ago and it sucks),
1) Best condition management,
2) The amount of fear sources, and the hability to do damage with it,
3) High vitality,
4) Great utility skills like corrupt boon, epidemic, blood is power,
5) Best self heal in game, (consume conditions),
With the cost of…
1) Slow motion speed,
2) Eternal cast times, (worst part of the class in my opinion),
3) Almost no damage avoidance, (LF doesn’t count we are taking damage anyway),
4) Horrible trait tree, (i hate it, i hate it so much…),
5) No chance to catch fleeing enemies,
6) No chance to get away from enemies,
7) Some abilities like dark path don’t work as intended,
8) In spvp LF is completly broken, starting with 0 LF and no white creatures is a serious drawback,
Just my humble opinion,
I just came to say: thieves don’t rule W3, zergs do.
While the pet trait is indeed bugged, your best bet is still to kill their pet so that they have no condition removal at all, or stun breakers really. Auto attack with your Scepter and focus on surviving as best as you can. When he switches pets do w/e u can to kill it. This will effectively screw him. Stand in traps, eat quickness SB attacks to the back if you have to, and transfer the conditions to his pet then epidemic his pet. His pet will die, He’ll have an insane amount of conditions with no way to deal with them. He’ll be forced to switch to his other pet with that one dead, putting his pet CD on a 60 sec CD. So rinse and repeat and hes nothing. This is easier to do on a burst setup but more then possible to do on a condition build as well.
Necros still complaining after this post? Lol people, learn 2 read.
Krytan top? isn’t that the Svanir top from HotW set? or does that top share another skin with another non-dungeon set? Funny thing is i’m actually working on TA to get those same gloves LOL!
The krytan top is from the Gem Store. I’m not on my computer right now to take a screen, but the chat code is: [&AgEnmQAA] Just copy paste ingame to preview it (if you do it from the Gem Store, you preview the whole set).
And yes, the top she’s wearing in the screen is the HoTW one. Most boring dungeon ever but I love that skin.
TA gloves are the best by far!
Maybe PvP players should be able to buy PvE/WvW gear with glory, but it shouldn’t be by no means easier or faster than the PvE way.
It should be like an alternative for those who enjoy PvPing and spend almost all their playing time there.
Annnnnnnd for god sake, a player should ONLY earn glory IF his team wins. A lot of people (me included) already hate glory farmers, we don’t want more of those around.
Agree 100%.
A lot of times I’ve wished that there was no glory at all. But then a lot of people wouldn’t play sPvP, so whatever.
Hope Anet will reward those who defend points and give the glory ONLY if your team wins.
Eles, mesmers and thieves rule sPvP.
I main a ranger since beta and never stopped playing her, even when everyone were talking crap about the class
I never cared about wich profession is the best, I play to have fun, and that doesn’t mean winning 90% of fights and running away the other 10%. But you simply need to accept that for most people that’s their idea of fun, that’s all.
And on a side note, the only class that I find irritating in hotjoins are thieves. Noobs can spam #2 a couple of times and kill anyone. And no, you can’t easily dodge them, because they never 1vs1, they just jump in a fight to get the glory : )
Noob eles are everywhere, I guess it will get annoying when they learn to play. And mesmers are ok in my opinion.
here’s an example
below has a picture of my level 24 ranger without clothes on, and a picture of her with a preview of t2 top/vigil bottom and legging. Notice the drastic size change. it makes no sense at all.
Aw, I totally thought about that combination months ago until I realized the T2 didn’t fit well :c
But don’t blame vigil pants! They are in my opinion one of the few nice pants available.
This is how my ranger looks like. I sometimes use the Whisper’s coat/dress and the Krytan top (the skimpy look :P) and vigil boots.
But that’s pretty much all the armor options I like.
Why did you made a video, with a thief, in world vs world?
Why don’t you make a video playing Spvp?
Anyway I’m playing in JQ, wanna try this against my condition necro? We can make a nice video,
Please.
You pretty much don’t see any lvl 80 ranger/thief/engie who is not wearing the Berserker’s Duelist/Cultural T3/Whisper’s armor sets.
I do agree that some coats are nice, but it’d be ok if they weren’t 90% of all options out there.
And this is a personal complaint: All those 3 armors ARE thieves specific armors.
Berserker’s Duelist is the armor worn by Thieves Guild (Thieves’ elite skill)
Cultural T3 set is called “Assassin” ermmm.
The Order of Whispers is: […] a secretive ancient Elonian order…snip….Its members, often spies, thieves and agents […]
The only set that looks quite rangerish is the T1 set, and it’s not impressive at all. The T2 is pretty neutral and good looking but I agree that for some reason it makes my character looks way bigger.
Norn cultural sets are beautifull, but oh well.
So Anet, give us engenieers and rangers nice skins without daggers and throwing stars stuck all over the armor, and of course thieves could use some variety too.
I’d like to be able to solo EM too.
It’s crazy that some people are saying “Dungeons are about teamwork and sociability”.
Dungeons right now are about DPS, and that’s it. Most parties don’t /say anything at all besides “skip!!!”. And I do prefer experienced players, but a lot of times I feel like I’m playing with bots.
I believe that some people dislike this idea just because less players would be available for their fast runs.
This is the reason why I’d love to be able to solo/duo a dungeon, with scaled dificulty (no easy mode) and with same reward.
BUT, if I could really change anything, I’d prefer dungeons to require real teamwork, and not only the “time warp + 100b” kind of teamwork.
To the OP, you should sincerely try some runs with PuGs, not all of them suck (and by “suck” I don’t mean they are not efficient and competent). There are some cool people left in this game.
And if you enjoy playing solo, try learning a dungeon by running it a couple of times, after that I can assure you that sometimes you will even forget you are in a party with other people, because sadly I don’t see this change being implemented any time soon.
Did ANET need a thread to realize how boring it’s a fight against a thief?
Come on guys, a class with high reward low risk while i’m doing my best to accomplish a kill it’s like a punch in the face,
Extreme mobility + High Burst + Stealth =/= fair, some kind of penalty after stealth, I don’t know but in my opinion a thieve who decide to engage in combat and play all their cards and was not able to kill his target within 15 seconds = dead thief,
It’s needs to be a small window of time, let’s say five seconds when the thieve without being able to inflict considerable damage on his target may decide to run away, (because he may feel the target is a high risk), but once he played all his cards no short bow, stealth or kitten should be able to save his kitten
That should be the skill needed to play a thieve, no the perma stealth and bullkitten we see everyday,
At this moment a thieve who decide to engage in combat and play all their cards and was not able to kill his target = escaping thief,
(edited by Engels.8537)
5% of toughness = power should be changed and renamed, it should be 5% of toughness = Condition Damage, Power Necromancers benefit from Daggers, and the Toughness tree mostly benefits staffs (condition damage weapon.)
+1
This kitten needs to happen NOW,
Can’t believe i didn’t realize sooner,
And the rest of the kitten needs to happen too,
Your build has some serious issues,
You are going to gear a rabid setup, that’s the right choise,
1) Runes: You need 2 runes of earth, one in your staff and another one in your scepter, the sigil of corruption is ok in your dagger,
2) Best utility skills are consume conditions, blood is power, epidemic and the last one is your choise, elite is plage form or blood golem, (golem is pretty good due his knockdown),
3) Runes, in the most basic setup, are six runes of the nightmare or six runes of the undead, not the best choice, just the most basic,
4) Traits… our trais are a mess, but in your current spec i would swap dagger mastery with mark of evasion,
Last gasp is awesome, but in your current setup it would be better 20 points on soul reaping somewhere else, probably spite, (I did not put even a single point in spite, because it sucks),
Your build is not optimal, just simple and straight, i used something similar a couple of months until I did realize maxing condition damage it’s not the way to max your damage even in a full condition spect, (I’m running a full condition spec, but making focus on fear and 100% bleeding duration),
PD: Our class is really really strong with the right setup and the needed skill,
And second paragraph wasn’t even engrish.
My english is not very good and i understood everything, which part you did not understand?
(edited by Engels.8537)
Even when some people say it’s not that good, try stacking. Of course you still need to dodge but if you stack:
- You can drop your heals/condi removals on everyone.
- You can insta rezz a downed player.
- You can insta break crystals.
And this one is crucial:
- You can actually dps him.
I’ve been in groups where the targeted player wouldn’t stop running around the room, so he wasn’t dpsing, and nobody else were, we were just trying to catch him to land some attacks on him before he ran away from us. Imagine a warrior missing his 100b because Alpha is moving all around!! It’s horribad, really.
To be honest, I haven’t run CoE since last patch because I’m afraid that it’s gonna suck plus Charged Lodestones price has dropped like hell u.u
TL;DR: Watch Strifey guide, it it awesome! ^^
Just out of curiosity, I posted on lfg and said " This is our first time running this dungeon" midway we had one random getting upset at us calling us noobs and asking " it’s obvious you never ran this, you’re useless bye "
If you were with 1 or 2 more friends, maybe the other random sent the invite to the guy who rage quit and never told him that you were all new.
I’m not justifying being a jerk, he could have said “sorry guys, I don’t have enough time to run with you”.
But well that’s my advice, always ask again before starting the instance. People usually suck at reading.
I’ve had a lot of people joining my groups for the wrong paths, even for the wrong dungeon (CoE and CoF looks the same to some people). Happens too often.
Also, I’m not sure where exactly people got the idea that Dagger doesn’t cleave. It does. It is a very small area, but it does indeed cleave.
Yea I figured, even if I dont have a target and swing it will still hit what ever is in front.
Wait what?? Dagger will hit something if you swing at it without having it selected, but I am almost positive it doesn’t cleave on anything, just like the thief dagger attack. Cleave being that it hits more than 1 target. I guess I will need to find two people in spvp and ask them to stand on top of each other to test. In either case if it does cleave a tiny area, its completly useless in PVE where mobs collide, and basically useless in PVP where people rarely stand right on top of each other for extended periods of time (the cleave aspect, not the dagger itself).
EDIT: And to the OP, I would love confusion, but frankly necros are already very hard for some classes to deal with, and the addition of confusion would be awesome, but it would be pretty uncharacteristic of the class in general. I also believe barbed precision at 100% bleed is a must for any condition build.
And to Drar, I can’t imagine why you would run a condition build with no duration. While I agree getting to 100% is somewhat of a scarifice, it is not a sacrifice at all to get to say 50% increase duration. I could rock (roughly) the same damage stats as you and have 50% duration. My terror also ticks for upwards of 1370 (with no undead runes). The only real advantage to your setup is the toughness to condition damage runes, which is a big sacrifice for no duration.
To me the logical argument is not that your player opponent is going to clear the conditions, but rather how long will your new bleeds after that clear stay on them. If its a guardian or a ele with multiple passive clears, forget about it, but pretty much everyone else is only running 0-2 condition clears, with 30ish second cooldowns.
I have shown the logical behind it before, but giving up the undead runes damage for duration is almost always worth it, just because of barbed precision, if your crit rate is high.
You agree with me because i learned a lot from your posts, so that’s not a surprise, in fact I’m the one who agree with you, one of the best necros on this forum,
Maybe the confusion would be OP, you are right, anyway as I said before if we would be able to inflict confusion or burning it would be in a very limmited way, anyway it’s not necesary be able to inflict those conditions,
On the other hand i think we really need some way to improve our condition duration, (bleeding specifically), condition duration is so important and it’s so hard to get it apart from food and traits,
The spite tree sucks, and i mean really really sucks, have to invest 30 points just for the 30% condition duration sucks,
Well, to be honest… our traits are a mess, a mixed bunch of things, many of them not working as intended or not working at all, that’s another story,
EDIT: How about our 5% toughness converted in condition damage as the mesmers?
I’d love to see this instead the jagged horror,
(edited by Engels.8537)
Actual question: if a critical from a scepter skill procs Barbed Precision, does Lingering Curse apply to it?
Sadly no, only affects the 1 and 2 skills from scepter
EDIT: I did, in fact, misunderstand what you meant. I didn’t realize that you were in the context of building a 100% multiplier to bleed durations, which I honestly think is misplaced stats even taking the power of barbed precision into account. I also still find the assertion that ‘any bleed that lasts more than 10 seconds will be removed’ iffy, but I’m not experienced with the contexts that give rise to that school of thought.
A easy example is blood is power, a 1 minute bleeding will never tick 60 times, it will be cleaned before, decent players have 2 or more ways to clean conditions, and conditions are easy removed,
On the other hand, a two seconds barbed precision often will tick two times, that’s +140 damage,
It’s always recomended to focus on 100% bleeding duration just for the extra tick of barbed precision,
Maxing your condition damage with runes and misc will result in bleeds a little bit stronger, (maybe 5 or 6 points above), loosing the 140 of barbed precision,
Unless you are able to maintain 12+ bleeds on your target all the time, it’s recomended to focus on 100% bleeding duration, and then focus on your condition damage,
PD: I’m assuming you know conditions only deal damage for full seconds,
