I don’t believe might stacking has beven decided as being a problem.

My stance on it is boons are a l2p mechanic. It’s very easy to rip might stacks, lesser skilled players just don’t.

And you’re still looking to snipe critical ele mechanics? At this rate, Anet should remove every class other than zerker wars and have damage be decided by an RNG engine.

I sure know I’m not. Doesn’t change gameplay at all, just turns d/d into d/w and illusions people into thinking this is the first melee ele that can play seriously. News flash boys, d/d has been here for three years, it’s been fantastic at front lining, and the tempest doesn’t do a thing differently than what it offers.

^ lol at first part. I still don’t get what all the shouting is about. Ele and Cele are fine and necessary parts of the game. When they get nerfed into the ground and the pvp scene degenerates into rubbish I’ll just look the other way.

Okay, I think everyone responding to the OP needs to come back down to earth from their utopian world of perfect players and perfect dodges. OP makes several good points regarding this system and why it is flawed; to reiterate, it is.

The argument that rewarding players for ‘wasting’ a dodge is a red herring that linear thinkers use instead of actively trying to think. This ‘wasted’ dodge comes with a cost; it’s not free. As such, good players are more adequately rewarded for using their allowance of endurance as they see fit with a much greater degree of freedom to their play in the effect on dodge model, whether it be to dodge to gain Vigor or what have you. Poor players are still penalized in this model where they are spending their endurance allowance in a sub-optimal manner, where good players can then capitalize from a bad player’s mistakes.

Poor dodge management does not get away with just ‘wasting’ a dodge, and it certainly is not rewarded.

I mean, how else to explain the Berserker and probable upcoming Ninja/Daredevil on Thief, and then compare it to the Tempest and Dragonhunter?

I’m with the OP here, DH and Tempest look like specs that should’ve been thrown into the trash when compared to the real specs (reaper/zerker/daredevil).

It’s not effortless to maintain without slotting it, so a cost is involved. Player speed is not 133% all the time because using swiftness correctly rewards good play.

Thoughts. My thoughts are that I’m tired of people shouting about how elementalist are overpowered. They’re top tier. Top tier and in need of rebalance are two different things. If you think that eles or Cele are OP, please just go L2P.

This is getting as bad as mounts in terms of beating a dead horse. Celestial is fine, it doesn’t need touched. There is a real tradeoff in using celestial that merits the gain of the ‘bonus’ stats. God forbid something that isn’t zerker is being used, let it be.

Thieves will probably get shouts too;

“I’m so edgy!” – apply bleed to all nearby foes
“You can’t see me!” – blind foes, go into stealth
“Hidden Ninja Strike!” – stun and crit enemies
“Yatatatatatataaaahh!” – cripple, torment, chill, burn, poison and confuse foes.

Improve character model fluidity while channeling an overcharge. They all seem very cartoonish or cheesy right now.

Effect is too little to matter outside of perfectly synced TS teams. It needs to be ramped up or the Cd brought down.

I think there’s a disconnect here going on.

See you got a bunch of people who are all like, “Woo Tempest this is so cool, it’s all so cool!” and then you have the more level headed people saying, “None of this stuff is practical.”

Is the Tempest stuff cool? Sure. New stuff. Neat. Any of it particularly useful? Not a bit. PvE players are guessing PvP and PvP is guessing WvW and WvW is guessing PvE cause no one can actually figure out where any of this cool stuff would actually be used over what we already got.

Staff 2 should not be a skill in our very few weapon skill options. It’s basically an auto with marginal upside. The way it currently is, you could just tack it ( the weakness) onto the chain 3 of the staff auto and that’d be just the same. It either needs to be upgraded to a stun (daze maybe) or over-written with a useful and interesting alternative.

The double heal has been big game in all my pvp encounters so far. You can really maximize heal per second as well with the current heal system.
