You misunderstand me.
By traited Curtain, I’m relying to the reflects.
By traited Warden, I’m also referring to the reflects.
Reduced cooldown is always a good thing, but is not always the better choice.
Yes, a 3-5-3-2 combo on S/F is really strong, but you don’t need to trait Focus to do this.
Curtain is not our most reliable interrupt since it’s a mind-game interrupt. MoD is our most reliable interrupt
Also, the traits are relatively unnecessary for that build. It’s attempting to be a shatter build, which would mean that reducing the cooldown of all Illusion skills for 3 points seems better than reducing the cooldown of one Phantasm for 4 points.
Server doesn’t mean anything with Megaservers, unless you want to play WvW.
You can play Edge of the Mist if you’re both the same color in WvW.
You don’t even need to guest to play together, with Megaservers.
The only deciding factor would be EU NA or China.
guardian also has lower HP than thief
They have equal health. Technically, Guardian have more effective health due to higher Armor. However, this is relatively insignificant.
First off, if you’re trying to base your character off an Anime, you’re not going to have a good time.
Secondly, if you’re trying to base your character off an MMORPG, you’re not going to have a good time.
Thirdly, nothing in GW2 is similar to an Enchanter (particularly since in the Anime, they only have 3 skills).
If you understand this and truly want to continue, then you’re not going to have a good time.
The Vine Attack that Shiroe casts is similar to Virtue of Justice (not really) since it improves the damage of a single strike. You could also say that Frost Spirit does the same thing. Neither of them will add a significant amount of damage, rivaling Shiroe.
There is no reason to light up an area bar jumping puzzles, so that’s somewhat unnecessary. However, blinding players is always an option. Guardians do have decent access to blinds, but Thieves have more.
If you’re unsatisfied, I would highly suggest playing another MMORPG that you research to have a class like Shiroe. He’s based on a generic MMO, and GW2 is not a generic MMO.
The hearts will still shrink you and potentially make you grow. When I was doing it, I shrunk and entered the holes as usual. I didn’t grow to pick up a boulder, but I only used 2 Redcaps before the Spider Event started.
Decoy is more important than Mirror Images unless you’re going for a cheese double shatter (which you’re not with that build).
You also will want to take the points out of Chaos and Inpiration to put into Illusions for reduced cooldowns, improved damage (can 2/3 trait for crit chance, increased damage, and/or cooldown refresh when low) and also more damage for point blank shatters (which is what’s going to happens with sword/focus).
Reducing the cooldown of Manipulations is great and all, but it’s not necessary for a PvP build. Traiting the Focus won’t add a lot of utility since Curtain is unreliable and Warden is volatile.
Mender’s Purity is great, but having it and a condi-removal may be overkill, depending on the situation. I’m not the best at this, so don’t take my word as the end-all.
Curtain mind-games are fun, though.
kyubi, I’m going to respond to you as a whole and not in regards to this thread by itself, since you’re posting your frustrations in multiple threads with different discussions.
You are taking the words play how I want out of line. Whether or not you actually know or are even thinking about the words, your argument always boils down to that.
Right now, you’re complaining about being forced to put in 4 points to improve party DPS instead of using the points for other things. You are, in no way, forced to put your 4 points down that way. There is nobody holding you down until you play like that. However, if you want to improve the damage of the party, and not just yourself, then you should just quietly deal with it. Every profession has traits that are important for improving party DPS (sorry Necromancers, not you).
Yes, you want to play a different spec, you don’t want to use trait Spotter and Frost Spirit. That’s fine. Then don’t. I and nobody else is forcing you to. If your guild says you have to run a specific build and you don’t want to, then leave it. If a group you are running with tells you to run a specific build, then leave it. You can play how you want as long as you are willing to accept with whom it is acceptable.
If you want to keep up this arguing, I would like to kindly remind you that there’s a difference between being a child while stamping your feet because things aren’t exactly how you want it to be and being an adult who faces the reality of your choices.
I may not be responsible or mature, but the reason why I play the “lolopmetabuild” instead of the silly builds I like is that when I play with a party, I play for the party and not for myself.
The Heroic Edition doesn’t have 2 free armor skins. It is 1 set of armor and 1 set of skin. Both look the same.
Actually, as I currently understand it, it is 2 sets of the same armor.
When you open the box, you obtain a box that used to contain level 0 gear to transmute it onto. However, it now contains all of the armor skins to transmute onto your gear for free (without the use of a transmutation charge).
You also used to obtain each of the armor piece items to transmute onto your gear for free (without the use of a transmutation charge). You still gain this, meaning you, as I understand it, have 2 copies of the same set (7 slots base, or 12 slots if you use the bundle).
I have yet to actually get the Heroic Edition, so I can’t confirm this, but it seems reasonably sound..
I hope you realize the image I posted was serious. I would like to see that implemented, maybe it would incite me to make my first male.
Did you close and re-open your BLTP?
Unless you’re using the API, or a standard web browser you’re not going to be able to refresh fast enough to see how many things were bought at any given purchase (and that doesn’t account for multiple people buying at the same time).
Your question has been answered, so I suggest we leave this thread to die.
Let us salvage rings for thermoreagent dustiparticles please.

“The party” as an entity, only exists for speedruns.
If you want to partake in a speedrun, you need to be willing to adhere to the expectations.
If you do not want to partake in a speedrun, you are free to do so and can play how you want.
You can’t have a cake and eat it.
It is viable elsewhere. Just not in improving your party DPS in a run meant for efficiency.
There is nothing stopping you from not taking Spotter and Frost Spirit (traited). You can easily not take them and be just as good, if not better, by yourself.
However, you’re not boosting the damage of 4 other people, which means, as a party, you will lose damage.
Speedruns are about “the party”.
“Play how I want” is about “me”.
If he’s using staff, look at Bamf Joe.
Either way, I’m showing you examples of legitimately bursting people down using multiple combinations of skills.
Dunno if they fixed it, but if you got a bundle equipped, it would “open” all your slots (the “Locked” skills were removed). This allows you to change your skills and equip skills before unlocking the slots.
At level 16, I was running around on my Thief with 4 Signets and a Mistfire Wolf (only equippable Elite pre 31).
I’m interested in seeing what they do with the next patch that has balance rivaling the April Feature Patch.
I personally believe every profession needs an overhaul, but only to make them diverse and work on their uniqueness. Of course, the amount of architecture that would need to pull off would be ridiculous.
I still feel like they dug themselves into holes with some of their initial designs. And it definitely feels unfair while playing Thief to get downed because you’re still getting hit by a Channel after stealthing.
With semi-baseline’d HP in PvE, you can still have Necromancers having “more” health simply by jacking up the max LF.
Of course, that’s not really an appropriate way of dealing with an issue and then we get more disparity between PvP and PvE, so it makes sense that a lot of the problems are simply relics of old game design (not necessarily bad design, just old design).
Oh my bad, I got confused (I should really go to sleep).
Are you using a bundle?
I believe the Hero Panel shows a ceiling value and not the actual crit rate. This is entirely conjecture on my part and is in no ways meant to be official in any capacity.
Something people forget to mention a lot for ele. Go max melee with lightning whip. Its really safe dps when you are out of dodges, invulns etc. For trash just take the appropriate defensive tools.
This extends past Elementalist.
So many times in Arah P2 at Alphard, I see players staying in the stack corner with Alphard.
This causes her to hit you with projectiles instead of allowing the appropriate projectile reflection/destruction to occur, meaning that the bomb will appear and force the group to roll out of the way and/or revive. It also destroys Wardens and Shields, allowing more projectiles past.
You don’t even have to be at max melee range, just stop standing on her.
/rant
@Drarnor, in the case of Andal in HotW, Mesmer is better not for removing the Might, but for stealing the Might and then giving the group 25 stacks of Permanent Might. Also with Mimic, Mesmers can now obtain 25 Might onto themselves instead of only holding 3.
Of course, then you have the idiot that shouts and gives everyone Might.
Unless they fixed it already…
Nope, I’m in a guild composed of me and IRL friends.. active player count: Me and 1 friend (super, super casual player).
My other 4 guilds are:
2 Personal Guilds simply for names.
1 Guild that I’m leaving soon (only there for an online friend who doesn’t like me anymore q.q)
1 Guild that I’m in because of a forum hero.
I’m NA. Also, my internet hiccups and my laptop sucks (8 fps vs Lupi is fun), so I use that as an excuse to fail and die.
Such derail, much thread, so wow.
Back on topic:
I think the health differences idea is fine, but I think the implementation is a little too… overbearing. It’s not typically noticeable, but Warrior and Necromancer health pool (in addition to effective health pool if you count in additional dodges/blocks/mitigation/etc [not counting standard 1roll/10s]) becomes pretty ridiculous in most cases.
It’s true that Warriors are super “easy” damage. But they’re not good damage. A party of 5 Warriors will clear through dungeons fast, but so will a group of 5 Thieves. It’s just one mistake and that’s a Thief down, whereas a Warrior can usually take 1-3 more hits than a Thief because the health pool difference (not even counting the negligible Toughness).
Support is irrelevant? Where’s my 5 necros speedclear?
I know right.
Something to think about.
If the only thing that mattered in Dungeons, or Fractals, (organized group content), Was Dps.
then Necromancer would have a spot in the Dungeon Meta.
Here let me say that again so you can actually think about it.
IF the only thing that was important was damage. Necromancer would be In the dungeon Meta.
I’d actually go so far as to say that:
If the only thing that was important was damage. Warriors would not be in the dungeon Meta.
Remember, let him experiment. Stay close (either in person or be ready ingame) and only help when necessary.
If he asks a question, answer it, but don’t try to explain the game to him (unless he asks).
When exiting combat in certain area’s after killing a mob, the game does not register the mob as being dead.
This bug existed before the patch, but seems to be popping up more now.
To fix the bug, simply enter and exit combat (by hitting something and killing it or running away) or by moving away from the last entry point into combat.
I have no idea why or even when I started theorycrafting GW2. I’m still a filthy casual, but thank you for your post.
And I think I didn’t do a good job explaining myself. I think my post was more for anyone not smart, like you and I, but more for the people talking with WOPggles (as I like to call them).
Repeatable rotations are the closest we can get to theoretical maximum DPS (after spreadsheets), which both have their own flaws. In reality, it’s simply making a speedrun group and running it firsthand.
I guess what my post is saying (again, not at you oxtred), is that eventually, you hit a point where you might need to swap out a profession to improve you runtime/efficiency in a speedrun (assuming everyone is doing their job near perfectly).
It’s possible to replace a Thief and Ele, even though they have high DPS because Support > DPS.
People just aren’t used to Support not being “Power Word: Shield”, “Rejuvenation”, and “+Intellect Buffs”.
Oh well, it’s hard to explain it to someone who doesn’t get deep into GW2.
Watch this, then, please:
Not sure what that has to do with your intended update. The endgoal is still the same, regardless of the initial change that incited it.
Armor Boxes up to level 30ish (expensive, but nice).
All weapons.
Sigils and Runes.
Patience. He will try out multiple Professions, most likely.
I know, but I just wanted to point out that if you’re attempting a world record, you can improve a lot.
Additionally, Engineer has condi-removal, the only traits used take away 2 points, you still have 12 more to utilize for condi-removal.
Movespeed gets you from one quick route to another. The only thing you lack is a teleport (Lightning Flash on Elementalist) to bypass specific terrain.
Completing hearts faster through animation canceling on interactions will be faster than killing in some cases. In other cases, you could opt for not wearing Nomad’s. The reason why I chose Nomad’s is so you could have the path of least resistance and make a few more mistakes.
I believe Elixir Gun also has pretty good condi-removal, in addition to Toolbox + Shield for massive blocking potential.
But I’ve only done MC once, so what do I know.
Mmm.
Effort:Reward isn’t always regarding loot. Mesmers are one of the most skill intensive (not to be confused with mechanically intensive [see: Engineer and Elementalist]) professions in the game. We also suffer from a lack of direction, causing a lot of the updates to lean in a different direction than the previous one.
A lot of it seems to be, from a player’s perspective, a lack of understanding from the balance point of view (I could be entirely wrong). Some of the changes, while meant to be helpful, end up harming us moreso.
Mesmer gameplay, over the course of the past 2 years, has become less healthy over time, encouraging pidgeonhole builds with slight variants due to personal preference.
Almost every time an “improves diversity” update rolls around, we end up magically losing one or two viable builds (at least) while gaining something that revolves around getting pidgeonholed into a specific build.
I’m not saying that Mesmer’s are underpowered. I’m saying that they need to stop being afraid of working with/on us. If that means removing Veil and Portal, so be it.
If you wanted a main to do all aspects of the game, you’re either going Ele, Guard, or Warrior.
Then again, I bring my Mesmer everywhere, although I absolutely loathe open world farming with my Mesmer (bosses are fine).
I wasn’t saying that there are zergs of Ele’s. I’m saying that there could potentially be zergs of Ele’s.
And having no counters is not a good balance choice.
Additionally, balancing each league individually is not particularly wise, either.
It’s a joke because it’s applicable. The only times when it’s used as an uncalled for joke is when it’s referring to things that should be removed because new players might be confused.
Or that Customer Support/Devs can’t do certain things because they might be too overwhelming.
The reason why Engineer is faster is due to Rocket Boots + Super Speed.
Elementalists can get Super Speed while attuning to Air (through traits), and if you pair that with FGS3 (no longer FGS5), then you will be able to boost your movement. However, relying on a FGS to move is not very good uptime (since you can’t use both parts).
Additionally, you aren’t going to be using your precious weapon swaps (dropping Ele weapons) to interact with objects. Unless you carry a lot of bundles with you (good luck, the cheap ones have mostly been removed from the game).
Hes not so far from the truth however i recently saw a guy who actualy iniatiated a fight as 2h sword mesmer shatter build and prety much exploded a 2v1 at full health within 3 seconds and i aint joking it took him 3 second to down two players with some kind of shatter build. How i know it wkittenter? Well he was carrying around 15 permanant might and spammed stunlock.
As far as i recall he initiated with chaos storm fellowed by a stunlock shatterbomb and a damage shatter bomb then applyed another stun with the daze mantra. We both died from our full health before we could even react.
Counter to this? Get invulnerability or stability or die instantly because likely you wont have any time to dodge while stunned that chain litteraly does 20k damage or above and prevent any form of reaction!
You’re playing full squish and are mad that you took a full nuke from another full squish to the face?
Makes sense on paper, and then remember that there are zergs. Imagine having a wall of elementalists with constant Swirling Winds and Meteor.
You can’t approach the gate because they are using Meteor. What do you do? Use a Siege Weapon.
You can’t use a Siege Weapon because they are using Swirling Winds. What do you do? Approach the gate.
Oh kitten.
Used to do long chain dazes with staggered staff clones (last one at max range). No longer works because of auto-shatter, so I simply use them to buffer and vuln a target.
I do use them while res/stomp/distracting, but I prefer using distortion for securing a stomp since diversion seems to be iffy on whether or not it actually interrupts down enemies.
I believe you can get a faster run with an Engineer post level 30.
If you’re aiming for a speedrun, I suppose everything goes, so instant level 80 from the start, along with scrolls and trait books. Nomad’s Ascended ready to go out of the box. Sigil of Swiftness and Rune of Vampirism.
Trait Speedy Kits and slot in Healing Kit, Wildcard, Rocket Boots, Slick Shoes, and Elixir U (is that the elite?)
Other traits should accompany survival moreso than damage.
In the Healing Kit, put your #5 on auto cast. When using Rocket Boots, also use the Gadget for Slick Shoes to get the bonus distance with Super Speed (max movespeed, more than swiftness). Constantly swap out and into Healing Kit for permanent Swiftness.
Rifle 5 can be used for more mobility across certain terrain. Rocket Boot Gadget may also increase movespeed, depending on terrain and current speed.
Elite form transform to get speed (pray for Juggernaut) and move along.
When interacting with any bundle or use item, always hold Healing Kit and use weapon swap to cancel animation.
Log out while waiting for WvW (obvious).
???
Profit.
Each profession has it’s use in dungeons (sorry Necromancer, you don’t) in the party meta.
Elementalist can provide slight utility (projectile destruction), blasts (might + fury/healing/any field party provides), Elemental weapons, and destructive DPS.
Thieves can provide significant DPS (especially when paired with Ele weapons), blasts (any field party provides), roughly 45-50s of stealth without effort, more with practice, and potentially venomshare (although this is very, very niche), and blinds. Lots of blinds. Can also break defiance like a boss.
Engineers can provide 25 Vulnerability, blasts (can create stealth or might), and AoE party-wide minor utility with elixirs (depending).
Ranger can provide Spotter and Frost Spirit to improve party-wide DPS.
Guardian can provide Aegis and Projectile Reflect/Destruct. Also has higher DPS than Warrior, when in full damage.
Mesmer can provide Projectile Reflect/Destruct (higher uptime than Guardian with a single Mesmer, but more prone to disasters), Time Warp, and… butterflies…
Necromancers can provide a little, tiny bit of Vulnerability. More than most other professions, but not enough to justify bringing them. With only one blast (on a 40 second teleportation cooldown), and low uptime on their little Vuln, you might as well slot an Engineer.
Of course, this is all assuming an experienced party.
In a solo environment, the entire utility of each of these professions changes drastically. While most professions retain their utility, some utility is brought out when solo, or lost when not in a party (and vice versa).
I just thought I’d explain why some of the “Warrior is master race” myths are false. That’s not to say they’re useful, easy, or bad. It’s simply to say that they have their place, and it’s not as the master race (honestly, if there had to be a profession to rule them all, it would be elementalist).
I guess I should leave, since I play Mesmer…
Recording repeatable rotations and then adding all the damage done in a timeframe is a possibility, or there is non so legal dps meters that are pretty reliable. And no, warriors doesn’t have the highest dps in the game, not even close.
The only problem with repeatable rotations (while good at showing sustained DPS) is practicality. In most fights where you’re in a speedrun group, you will barely do one full rotation, depending on length. In fights where you’re not in a speedrun group, you also have to manage dodges, repositioning, and mitigation.
For the most part, this simply means buffer time inside your rotation which you can count as auto attack loss (but if you’re playing a Revealed Training Thief, the buffer time on Evasion significantly hurts your damage output and therefore your DPS).
I thank you for not having Warrior OP Goggles and stating that they aren’t the best, however it’s nearly impossible to track realistic sustained DPS.
This isn’t particularly aimed at you, oxtred, simply everyone else with WOPggles.
I suppose rotation DPS is fine, compared to Burst potential. Both of which Warrior is not as strong as Thief, especially when you bring in Ele Weapons (Improvisation 2gud).
Necromancer has roughly the same DPS as Warrior, ironically. The reason why Necromancer isn’t brough in speedrun and normal (for the most part) groups is because they’re a selfish Profession and bring relatively nothing to the table. Engineers can bring much, much more Vulnerability which is about all that the Necromancer will uniquely bring (because DPS isn’t particularly unique).
Mesmer also has DPS rivaling Thief and Elementalist in the perfect scenario’s (theoretical sustained DPS vs targets that don’t kill Phantasms). 3 Duelists with Fury, reduced attack cooldown, paired with standard Assassin’s gear (100% crit chance with Banner/Spotter/Food) means you’re maintaining 23-25 stacks of Bleeding on the opponent at all times, depending on the stagger. With 25 Might, this actually accounts for a lot. The DPS loss from the Duelist DPS compared to Swordsman is more than made up for it from the Bleeding (and no, if you’re running a typical party, you’re not going to have many people applying Bleeds). The bleeding by itself, without any Might, is roughly 1k dps. I forgot the exact number for the duelist additional DPS, and that’s still a pitiful number. Then you account for Mesmer damage (which isn’t a lot, but it adds up).
Guardian rotation can outDPS a Warrior rotation, however it relies on being extremely squishy and not helping your allies with Aegis rotations, so you’re effectively playing a Thief without evasion/blinds/stealth.
Engineer rotation hits hard, and is slightly higher than Warrior, the last time I checked, depending on your rotation. If you’re Bomb camping, you’ll definitely beat the Warrior. If you’re nadecamping for Vuln, you won’t be outdpsing the Warrior, but the effective damage increase you get from stacking Vuln is a lot more than a Warrior would bring (stacking Warriors that is).
Zenith, I feel like you’re falsely under the impression that Warrior have the best DPS in the game.
If you’re having Guardians on rotation to keep you alive, then you’re better off playing a Thief, Elementalist, Engineer, or even Necromancer for damage output.
However, Engineer and Necromancer have many, many spots where they aren’t very strong.
Thief also doesn’t have very good range, but since we have “Guardians on Aegis rotation” it won’t really matter, so you can camp D/D (and potentially pick up an Ele Weapon with Improvisation for one of the highest damages in the game).
But I digress, having that sweet, sweet armor bonus from being Heavy vs Medium more than makes up for the damage loss. /sarcasm
Yes, please do remove Veil and Portal Entre from Mesmers in WvW.
Then maybe Mesmers can have some real direction without Anet being afraid of us having the power of assisting entire zergs in addition to being able to do something on their own, something that is largely missing from Mesmers.
That’s not to say it’s not possible, it’s just really, really bad in terms of effort:reward ratio. You can get a lot more rewards by playing any other profession.
Sticking with the zerg doesn’t guarantee survival, it simply relies on how big your force is and how good your commander is (with more, more variables than that).
Additionally, if you wanted to simply survive in WvW, you just sit in spawn because you’re invulnerable.
Wording is fun.
Was selling P2 and I was “undercutting” the other sellers. I listed for 6g99s99c while they listed for 7g.
First image Person came in and send me 6g99s99c.
Also, there was this guy who didn’t have an LFG posted, but I was trying to get through the maze in Cursed Shore to get at the Rich Mithril Node. He stood on top of the maze and told me if I could beat the Champion, I would be rewarded.
I fought him once, and died due to the Risen respawning fast (really fast).
I fought him again with a bad build. Pulled him to the corner but didn’t know his animations so I died almost instantly.
I fought him again but paid attention to his animations and was slowly whittling him down. Didn’t quite get the hang of his abilities and died.
I fought him again and swapped my build to a terrible build specifically meant to counter him. After roughly 5 minutes of avoiding, dodging, rolling, dazing, distracting, and kiting, I killed him.
The guy on top of the maze told me I was the first person he’d seen solo the Champion and rewarded me (even though I failed the challenge, technically).
Second Image Long story short, I got this mail. Never looted it and keep it as a token for remember ingenuity over meta builds.
Only the first was an LFG, but I felt like the second one could have been an LFG.
I assume it’s a lvl20 scroll + tomes to get you to level 80?
Thats kinda what I expect, especially if he has the golem banker from digital deluxe. IIRC you get them in the mail right after the intro scene. So he can grab those two items and level up. Another possibility is he left the starting instance to go to WvW/PvP, but I think that got patched and you can’t do it anymore.
If its neither of those and you really spent that much time there, then congrats to the OP. Not sure there are many people that would have the patience to do that.
You gain 2 Experience in the starting zone for each mob killed. However, experience is rounded in the calculation (I forgot if it rounds normally or is always ceilinged).
It takes a grand total of 4,860,359 experience to reach level 80.
At 2 Experience per kill, it will take you 2,430,180 mobs to reach level 80.
If you have enough Experience to reach 3 Experience per kill, it will take you 1620120 mobs to reach level 80.
If you have the maximum possible Experience bonus in the game (bar Achievement Points), you will gain an additional 420 to 430 (based on WvW) bonus experience. That means you’re gaining 5.2x up to 5.3x experience which translates to 10-11 experience per kill.
At that rate, it will take you 486,036 mobs to reach level 80.
It takes roughly 1m18s (78s) to clear a circle around Shaemoor. You will kill roughly 22 Centaurs in this process (done using a Dagger/Dagger Necromancer due to Swiftness, AoE attacks while moving, and fast auto attack speed).
If we round for slowness, you will kill roughly 20 mobs every 1m30s (90s). (20 mobs / 90s = 0.22 mobs/second)
At 2 experience per kill it will take you roughly 540040 seconds or 9000 minutes or 150 hours.
At 3 experience per kill it will take you roughly 360000 seconds or 6000 minutes or 100 hours.
At 10 experience per kill it will take you roughly 108008 seconds or 1800 minutes or 30 hours.
Of course, you would need to have 2 Birthday Boosters, 60 Enchanted Reward Boosts, 30 Improved Experience Boosters, 30 Laureate Experience Boosters, 60 Guild Karma and Experience Banner or 60 Guild Heroes Banners, 2 +5% Kill Exp for 24 Hour Guild Upgrades, 40 Halloween +15% Experience Foods, 60 Potions/Oils, and 30 hours of mind-numbing grinding (yes, this is more grindy than a zerg).
Did I mention you can’t wear an offhand until level 7 and you don’t unlock your first Utility slot (to slot Signet of the Locust for mobility speed) until a higher level (you don’t need Signet of the Locust, because you can use Sigil of Speed to maintain permanent Swiftness unless you just logged in).
Enjoy.
I doubt the OP did this method and I apologize if my math is off (it feels wrong but I can’t quite place it), since I’m tired and should be sleeping.
