Another useless thread, thieves gonna defend their proff til the end of the world, no use to post one-shottin backstabbers. Happened to me as well, not gonna post it cuz they will send me to hell-.- Anyway just to defend the OP a little since u guys dont know other classes, eles and guardians have the lowest base health of 10k, yes 10k! 16k health on an elementalist is pretty.

- thief trait Deadly arts 25 = +10% damage on target with a condition. Thankfully, C&D puts a condition on the target already.
- thief trait Critical Strike 25 = 10% damage when above 6 initiative which isn’t have to pull if all you did is a single C&D
- major thief trait Trickery = +5% damage when attacking the back or flanks. Backstab kinda guarantees it’s on the back or flanks
- C&D puts vulnerability on the target, 3 stacksResult? Assuming the traits add themselves up additively we get +25% from traits and +3% from vulnerability.
The damage becomes 6700.
You said to use Eagle runes but the Scholar runes are much better for backstab also. And then activating signet of assassin gives 5 stacks of might if traited (which it’s probably). He could also have used another signet for even more might. I don’t think 7700 damage is far fetched.
True my mistake
1883*1,30 pasive traits (10% dmg with poison and 10% when initiative is ower 6 and +5% dager damage,5% signet on weapon)=2447 DMG—>crit with 260% crit DMG is 6364 DMG, but this is an ideal situation =)
BTW Thief on this build has 10805 HP and zero surival + burst DMG only once per 45 sec =)

Keep in mind that attacks like unload, and sneak attack. We’d be able to keep an enemy frozen practically forever in pistol builds with that.
I wrote ONE sec CD = max 1 poison on sneak attack and unload.
But it is no problem to increase for 1.5 sec

Add to all the poisons passive component
Spider Venom,Skale Venom and Ice Drake Venom —-> every three attacks(1 sec CD) apply effect of this poison on half time.

Of course but this Mr Fellknight or actually Mr FRENZY use “Frenzy” and then wonder why it gets 11K Backstab.
I’m a Guardian with 3.2k toughness and 18k health.
Feels balanced, man.

Buy I’ve been in 3 games where one entire team was 6-8 thieves.
And where is problem ? One Thief in the team ? Why no..But 1+ is so pure fail

The majority of people here complaining about Thieves never even heard of stun breakers .The recent video added on Thief forum is just the evidence of that.Should we take them into consideration?

The Thief is obviously OP whit that 5k Back Stab.
Warriors Eviscerate can pull the same damage and doesn’t take that much possitioning and buffing.

Zero stun break only traps ??? Next time L2P your class and then maybe you will understand that without the “stun break” can not play against any class.
I have a number of friends who play thief, some of them are, very, very good at the class. I’ve asked them, do you think thieves are Op at the moment, every single one replied “Yes”. I duo WvW with a full beserker/exotic thief I watch him down players before I am even in range, the damage he can put out is just nuts and he does this consistently.
I have come across thieves in WvW (and before you pipe up, I know it’s WvW and peoples gear can be vastly different) that can and do kill players in under 2 seconds. I’m a full exotic bunker built Ele, I came across a thief who was consistently doing between 16-19k damage with Steal, Cloak & Dagger, Backstab with Backstab critting for between 8-9k, my health pool at the time was 16.8k. He would down me before I even had a chance to react. Considering I am bunker/tank character, imagine the amount of damage he would be doing to any glass cannon built players.
No profession should be able to down a player before they have a chance to react, I don’t care how “squishy” you keep telling people they are, as stealth makes up for having less survivability.
Does thief need toning down? Absolutely.

Man you are a SLUG in glass cannon body.
Hundred Blades setup is the great noob killer that takes a lot of skill to work against good players. The Backstab setp is simply much more effective.

How much toughness did you have? I mean, I play a support elementalist build with 2100 toughness and 14k hp and I had protection up and died alot faster then 1.5 sec…(rank 37) what’s your secret in surviving 1.5sec?

You don’t get it, do you? I run as ele with 2.5k armor (not a tank, but not fragile either), and I have around 16k hp, if I remember correctly (or is it 17 … at work atm). By the time basilisk venom was down to 10% hp and as good as dead. That is 1½ sec. That is unavoidable. The thief came out of the blue, I had clear vision from where he should come from, and it was not in WvW. Having 1½ sec to react is one thing, but this is just out of this world. And yes, I of course had a stunbreaker (even 2) but they were on cd, which is bound to happen with all the thieves running around … and I can deal fine with almost any other thing that comes my way without it as Scepter&Dagger-ele.
I usually find thieves fun to fight, but when things begin to be unavoidable and out of the blue … just where is the sense in it?

Where’s the point? That you do not have a CD on spells means of a class is too strong ?
Warrior charge you —> 2 sec knock down —> Frenzy —> 100b --→ if you do not CD on stun break = you are death.

Dear AN,when fixet this two spell ? Shadow Shot is pure fail,this spell missing DMG (animation) at 80% hits(enemies do not use any skills only stay)and this spell make “miss”
Same problem on Heartseeker,enemy only run,do not use any skills and this spell missing DMG.
