Sorry just trying to enjoy the game after hot as a thief -.-
Just do what everyone does and dodge through an area you think traps are in. As a thief you should have an easy time doing this, specially if your running dash and for panic moments you have your Shadow Steps like getting caught in Dragon’s Maw.
Your average Dragon Hunter isnt exactly subtle with their trap placement either…
Half a second is also gone faster than the more damaging traps can activate
Bringing Interrupts can help slightly since Guardian in general doesnt have consistent access to stability most of the time.Yeah interrupts but u have so many passive blocks which makes interrupts useless, im running a thief interrupter which means im kinda expert at other classes skills which can be interrupted which build gonna use a skill which can be interrupted but these random blocks kills the fun for me but okey-okey lets just say this is your mechanic but u know its really annoying when u finally could win but oh look that DH just placed a trap which ripped your 25%hp nearly instantly + dazed hs, autoattack whatever u tried to use i also play warrior a lot same problem on it too but but double balanced stance helps a lot…… also(thief interrupt if we use headshot we uses 4 Initiative, so rip restealth)
Also telling me to dodge through the problem is not when he sits on it (howerver spear of “Justice” which kinda undodgeable so u just can pull in…) the problem is when he place intant traps while healing or reading an article about how condi mesmers still in-game on his phone and bamm u just got dazed and kitten d…. also major adept trait…..
Guardian was always hard for a thief but i get to the point where i just stealth away not even try to bother, the spawn is far away……
Passive block on guardian right ?
Show me your play time on your guardian because write passive block on guardian really need courage.
And let me tell you a secret, Thief hard conter every single guardian in sPvP =)

since there no tempest staff builds, im playing tempest d/d meta build
its not bad i like it, a lot better than staff, but i lose a lot, i dont see reason to play pvp if theres no balance, just veteran players destrying new players… same as heartstone

In every single game is Build on first place (LoL,Dota,Aion,AoC,UltimaOnline,EvE and many other game) , same in real life is build(muscles/equipment) > skill =)

you are not wrong about instant casts. except Traps are not instant cast. the are 3/4 second casts. So yes, while you would be correct if they were instant casts, you are very wrong because they are NOT instant casts. the game is currently treating them as instant casts though, so that is a bug. it is not a buff. and it needs to be fixed.
Again Learn mechanics of this game. All traps have activate time + 4/6 cast time 1/2sec. Activate time on all traps is +- 3/4 sec.

again after 90000000×. First time learn mechanic of this game. All single skills in this game with instacas its work in ress and stomp. Like Revenant heal,blind etc, Warrior stability,enduracepain etc, Engineer elixir etc, Thief shadowstep,blinding powder etc. You really want nerf all this skills on all charracters ?
And for you, Guardian have six traps and only two traps with instacast no 3

Dire druid easy kite and kill 3 players in same time. Big problem is pet DMG (ranger pets make same DMG with all armor stats (dire/berserker/cele etc).
Easy fix is reduce pet DMG and reflect on him rangers stats.
Is really funy when bunker druid make with pet 10k burst dmg.

Because I can understand that.
Main problem is burning vs bleeding, +- same icons with really differents DMG. In pvp is this fact deadly
This Amber players on forum make me day. I play MMO RPG +- 15 years, start on Ultima online and focus primary PvP (WoW 6x gladiator,Lineage 1,2,Age of Conan, etc)-
All this game have crying people on forum, beacose these players are so bad.
From this players. GW2 is most balanced MMORPG game the past 15 years. Problem for casual players like you is skill base core. What does that mean ? L2P.

Conditions in sPvP is the pure essence of cancer. It is really impossible fight vs them.
Core problem.
1) All class have conditions without special builds.¨
2) Conditions need only two stats (condition dmg and duration), power need three (power,precision,ferocity)
3) Ignore armor,protection.
4) When player with power build use defensive abilities (block,invis,evade,blink etc) so stop doing DMG, condition player make DMG all time.
5) Conditions DMG abilities have short CD vs condition clease with really long CD.
+18K damage with unload in less than 1,5 sec to guardian in spvp.
“Balanced” in what? Being crazily OP?
Thief have unbalanced DMG a dodges
First Unload withou stacked might and Lead Attacks make 8k dmg (marauder amulet,pack runes) vs Guardian with Demolisher amulet.
Vault is next problem in team fight Thief only use dodge with boundng dodge and Vault 5x in row, every single Vault make 8k+ AOE DMG and Bound 4k+ AOE DMG.
Yesterday I lose with 19 game win streak on P/P Staff Thief.

Guards are the only class that can currently instant cast traps. Everyone Q.Qs about he traps damage I actually don’t mind it what I do mind is the fact that they can just spam them mid fight. As opposed if they preset them and I ran in and got caught that’s on me but if we’re in the heat of battle and I’m winning the fight and bam instant 3-4 traps and I’m dead from full hp not bc he’s a better player but bc his traps in ally off cd and I’m right on him he wins. I’m all for a reasonable cast time on these even when I’m on my dh I feel the same. I don’t think I should be able to instacast 3 skills at once. Can you imagine an instant cast kill shot or something like it? Ppl would flip yet this has been the norm ever since DH came out and when they did nerf dh it was a lb nerf which I didn’t find necessary instead of adding a cast time to traps. Pls do this Anet. Thoughts?
4 traps has place animation + activate time, 2 traps has activate time without animation. That is all for your mystification post.

To me it just tells me you are doing damage to minions/clones, or it is getting healed. I if go shatter Mesmer, I can get a lot of kills, but less than 300k damage because I can kill them before they get a heal off.
I have 1m+ DMG in 70% game with necro. My record is 1.8m and only one single kill
And right, totall DMG is nothing.
The matchmaking is disgusting. Almost impossible matchups for low MMR players and free wins for high MMR players (see all the screenshots with 20-40+ winstreaks on these forums).
MMR dont exist in this game, only Division.
This dont work, guardian has to low base HP on this. Block attack + shield or reduction dmg(20% on 3sec) after aegis is destroied work by great.
I have no idea where you play. I start play this season three day back, amber to ruby and my max queue time was 7 min. 90% game had less than 3 min.
I’m nearly out of energy and ready to log for the day. Here’s my results since I started this thread yesterday. That’s 33 losses and 5 wins.. or approximately 15.2% wins. The vast majority of those by ROFLSTOMP.
I’ve done my part.. I’ve worked as hard or harder than most. This matchmaking is not right.
Man you must by bad player. 400 game and only 80 win is only your prolem. Any better match making systom dont increase your skill, that is all
Many bad players think they are good but not.
My advice is, go in to 1v1 arenas and train.train.train.

Guardian is ok but…. OP elementalist and engineers hard conter every ranged classes. Every time is in game 1-2 elementalist with engineer. Team with elementalist vs team without in ruby+ has 90%+ win rate.

Main problem is zoom hacking. Attackers dont need use siege engines beacose zoom hack and meteor shower destroid everysingle siege engines in castle.
Just thought I’d throw this question out there.
I was looking at taking the perilous path of dropping Defense for more damage in another line. As I weighed up what I’d lose from Defense, considering everything, the one thing I decided I couldn’t live without was adrenal health. The defense line has a ton of great defensive stuff to get you through your day, but I can work around everything except the effect of AH.
Am I wrong?
This is main problem why is warrior on lower tier with guiardian, guardian works little better vs low skill players.
Power warrior is locked on Defense and Discipline trait line. Without 5 sec weapon swap and adreanal healt is warrior really bad.
In WvW is unplayable right now, every single class burst you,owerheal you or kite you on death, only guardian is equivalent opponent

But main problem is guardian virtues F1-F3, virtues has bad design and withou Renewed Focus nobody uses them.
When you use
F1 you are 20 sec withou condition dmg = condition guardian is gone.
F2 1.6k heal 45 sec CD and turn of your little HP regen 84/s
F3 one single aegis with 60 sec CD

DH has same bad passive effect on virtues but better active, this is why 95% guardian players play DH. Solution is rework core guardian virtues on better active effect.

They’re fine. Disrupt their ability to get their elite skills off and you win 100% of your fights against them. Warriors are EXTREMELY susceptible to CC due to an almost complete lack of stability. They get 3 pulses of a single stack of stability while in Berserker – burn one and then stun. Congrats you win.
If you can’t do that, use dazes while they’re in Berserk. Completely stops their ability to do damage. I’ve been killed multiple times in under 4 seconds on my warrior in the last couple of days by people that waited for me to go zerk, hit me with a daze and then hard-bursted. Granted, neither Endure Pain or Resistance ever seem to do anything in these situations, but still.
TL:DR – warrior isn’t a free kill anymore, you have to actually counterplay it like you had to pre-HoT. It’s not hard. Warriors still telegraph 100% of what they do and are incredibly predictable.

I has 3x stun break 1)10 sec CD 2) 20 sec CD and 3) 15 sec CD. regen 900Hp/s, 10 sec resistence, 3x condition cleanse every 4/8 sec and millions stuns with condi burst. 26k hp 1.3k condi dmg 560 healing power and 2.6k armor.

Big fail on guardian is aegis. Guardian has 9 traits when boost or apply aegis but main problem is aegis itself.
Rework aegis on two step
1) Aegis block 100% first attack 2) after aegis is destroied apply new boon what will be reduce all damage for 50% on 5 sec.
or
Aegis absorb damage (2k+healing power on lvl 80) not only block first attack

Heya everyone, I’ll keep it simple:
Aegis has lost much of it’s shine, especially in raids where auras simply strip it from you. Also in PvP, often aegis simply blocks one part of a barrage or something likely. I agree there are situations where you can benefit greatly from a single good timed block, but these situations have become so rare that I suggest a simple change in the aegis functionality:
While under the affect of aegis, when getting hit by a blockable attack, aegis disappears and you get the same named unique boon (like alacrity or super speed, not strippable and not affected by boon duration) that lasts 1s and blocks all attacks for that time.
So aegis would simply block attacks for 1 whole sec after proc. I suggest an unique boon once it got activated since you A) don’t have to worry about boon duration making it op and
if aegis in general would block everything, you’d have to reduce all aegis durations rapidly and guards would require a rework of their F3 too.

Guardian make 98% from all aegis in this game and is his main defensive skill vs burst DMG, Guardian has low base HP and aegis has synergy with 8 Guardian traits.
When you want change aegis in first time you must overall rework Guardian class.
Uh, guys, Hammer 3 is alright, but it’s just a stalling tool at best. It’s a DPS loss, it’s easy to see coming, animation is very long and also doesn’t work properly on certain terrain.
Hammer 4 is cool, but I think it’s a tad too slow.
Hammer 5 is awful.Overall, it’s not a great weapon outside of CoR spam, it’s TERRIBLE at kiting, and has basically 0 tools for opening the gap.

Hammer was terrible outside of CoR spam and everyone knows it. And when the gap was closed rev had to fight with one weapon set as hammer unlike dh lb loses all it damage and it doesnt have anything else going for like passive knock and stab just bc dh used his auto in close range.

Maybe first time start play all class in this game and don’t stunck on one single class and write every time " buuuu my class is so bad" I really like this forum warriors with zero skill in game.

I think in the end, DH is a horribly designed profession for sPvP. Low skill floor, low skill cap. It’s very effective against lower skilled players, but anyone experienced can easily play around it.
You must balance game on high lvl players floor, not for hot join where play players on touchpad.
In S1 i see maybe one DH every ten game in D/L League, to S2 DH hit next traps nerf and is really low chance to see DH in high lvl League.

I have a bigger issues with the 1200 range insta pull. Should be reduced to 900.
Insta pull with 1/2 sec cast time ? First time DH must hit you with this slow projectile and secondly must pull you back with 1/2 sec cast time, yeah insta pull.

DPS was nerfed, not utility.
Hammer 3 and 5 are big dps loses.
Hammer dps was already far behind other range classes like staffele, and now its broken. Especialy with anets easystyle fix “can only be hit once per 0,5sec” Nerfhammer.

What ? Revenant hammer is best ranged weapon in this game. This weapons has 100% projectile finisher (other class has 20%) it is madness,Coalescence of Ruin is best 1200 range AOE DMG spell in game with really low CD, Phase Smash has evade/chill/blast finisher and good DMG. Field of the Mists is best ranged defences spell 6 sec duration and only 12 sec CD with 100% projectile finisher on your AA makes this spell awesome.
Only Drop the Hammer is controversial skill on this weapon.

But I agree CD is a bit too short.
To shor CD on only one DMG spell in this weapo set ? Maybe increase CD on 12 sec right ?

I have no problem with the size of dps, main problem is when AA chanin make more DPS than other skills. Staff has right now after bug fic 6k+ DPS with Berserker amulet and pack runes, Dagger 5.8k-6k and Sword “only” 4.6k. Sword is right now DPS garbage and Dagger and Staff AA is overbuffed

Stop sprouting silly numbers about thieves, which even if they would be true don’t mean crap in a real game environment..
@Kicker, the post by Evilek here has been shown to be biased and has no data behind it. So please don’t repost his numbers.
My personal opinion is that we didn’t need any AA dmg increase, but it doesn’t hurt anyone that they brought them up a little. I would much prefer BV to become instant now, so we can actually choose which skills to make unblockable, but that might be too much?
The new version of BD is nice though, quite like it!

well before patch was 340dmg now showing 440dmg
Before patch my lotus strike was like 799, now it’s 1,155. the buff was a bit over kill IMO, most light classes die to my spike within a second unless they evade the moment I drop on them.
I just eviscerated three players in WvW, (One ranger, one mes, one thief) and didn’t use HS once save to cloak.

Dagger AA is best DMG “skill” on Thief right now. HS is waste DPS.
AA DPS in sPvP is 6k in WvWvW hit 10k !

btw they said they want thieves use initiative most for defense ( i don’t get how it could counter a 17k/sec dmg, but lets go on ), so they chose to incrase weapons dps ( seems just strange that dagger have 50% extra dps than a staff/sword ).
you test dmg on which golem btw ?
