I test this change today and correct this trap is 200% weaker right now. But this change is not surprising Elementalist Ring of Fire met the same fate
Only fix bug. All other AOE skills has ICD it is protection for bad players who are able to dance on the edge of the circle and receive DMG again and again.
Same fix ArenaNet apply on Ring of Fire because bad player stack on self 20 stack of burning

It´s not constructive when is a Dh that answer. Stop talking like the Dh traps are balanced and with juSt one dodge we can kill a DH. If DH is nothing without defenses why a third of players run it? You can admit that this elite is really op. Heavy armor, high defense via stab, aegis, high healing , high damage, mobility. Sorry but you are not constructive.
First time my PvP main is Thief with 4.5k play time and I have no problem killing DH per one combo, only noob standing in red circles and say OP.
BTW Meteor Shower out damage all traps and DMG skills in thisgame with biges circle in game
One single dodge and all traps is gone, maybe is time fight 1v1 vs DH and learn mechanics before that you make topic.
Only two traps make spike DMG, Test of Figh make 3.1k crit dmg 24 sec CD with traits and Dragon’s Maw 4.3k DMG 48 sec CD, other two traps make DOT DMG.
Guardian with four traps has zero mobility and zero defensive skills.
And for all, easy way how kill DH is ranged weapon and dont stay in traps.
I’ve faced some Mace/X Condition Berserker yesterday. If not good amount of Resistance, I’d be dead after couple seconds. They have incredibly strong condition burst, not to mention if they interrupt you.
Yep stun condi is better on 1v1 but you must go confusion instead burning.
@evilek which build are you running? I was having a tough time getting my damage per game anywhere near my gs/ham pvp build…its closer to half with the condi including
When you are active berserker mode you only swap weapons and spam F1
Use 5+2 on LB -> activate Berserker -> F1 on LB ->swap weapon on S/T -> use 5+2+4+F1 -> swap weapon on LB -> F1+2 etc.
In PVE power and condi Berserker has awesome DPS. In PvP you must go condi build because power berserker is weak but condi is beast =)
I use like primar weapons LB and make pernament 15 stack burning on all enemy on points. Berserker is Burning Guardian 2.0
It is an issue its obviously broke and will be fixed. There are people abusing it on weird niche tank builds. Makes them super hard to kill in smaller fights. Its not game breaking or anything but there is no way its intended. Its not funny when somebody is getting healed for 1500k with pure of heart over and overa gain. People will always find a way to abuse something.
Honor is bad mastery line and waste points on DPS DH guardian and DH mastery line is waste point for bunker guardian because no stun ->no aegis -> no heal
But maybe change aegis on protection will be more powerful =)
And BTW who use control on bunker guardian with perma stability and uninterruptible Heal and Elite skill ?

6,8k vs Elementalist and 2,2k vs Revenant with full glass cannon build on Guardian.Unload on my Thief make more DMG, same kill shot on Warrior.

Aegis is every control, traps is every 36 sec with traits.
BTW aegis after control make guardian invurnable vs burst DMG ? Use CC on guardina + one AA and now you make burst.

Thief with staff is close combat fighter no ranged =) I use this skill every day vs hight DMG skills like Lich form,Berserker,True shot etc.
My warrior with knight stats tank all fractal boss without dodges.
Swap on sword and click skill *3 wait 10 sec and click skill *3 again -> enemy down.

Another issue with stability countering it is that it is not an actual CC. It doesn’t interrupt skills, only displaces where they go off.
I think that’s the main issue. It isn’t a hard cc because it doesn’t interrupt skills, its not a soft cc because its not a condi. I like it because it places emphasis on range. This is the one area where cleave is not superior.
Like it because this skill does not counter ? This skill has toxicity over 9000 in sPvP.

Killshot is here 3 year and any one use him because is bad =) 98% players in zerg has perma protection and 20k+ HP 6k dmg is nothing. Meteor Shower is 10x better.

6k is max what you make vs 95% players without might,vurnerability or Assassin’s Signet.

Stabilita cannot work, because this skill pul out 10 per sec lol = -10 stack stability every one sec. Kick out after impack is right but kick out during 4-8 sec is broken.

As much as I hate to say it, the skill probably deserves to only displace (maybe further) with the first impact and instead of pulsing the displace, pulse torment. But that’s just me trying to be fair.

No really, Thief want only better ranged weapons but ArenaNet say no and remove only one good trait on ranged weapons (Ricochet) and make this horrible staff specialization
Old vigod + old feling grace is better(faster endurance regen and the same number of dodges in a row).
Old acrobatic make +- same number of dodges per minut then new acrobatic + dd.

If the DH damage is there then we technically wouldn’t need condi cleanses considering the fight will be over before that’s needed. That’s just it though, the past beta showed huge weaknesses in the DH and it wasn’t just the bow’s and virtue’s clunkness.
I wouldn’t mind trading a 2k heal, 4s fury and a stunbreaker, medi skill if it means the trap will have equal performances via damage, support or cc effects. Hopefully when DH comes again, we’ll see traps being more impactful, the bow being more reliable and our traits being more useful.

Problem is guardian defenses it’s only active. Other classes have passive defensive traits like Warior,Elementalist,Thief. This classes don’t need use utility skills on survive.
The only problem is Fire field. Nerf fire fields across all characters and problem is resolved.

No we need fileds to stay, they are the only things that make game fun (combos).

Only D/P has survivability right now because clever balance team nerf all other defensive traits + nerf 50% traits whitch used D/P Thief.
Your total playing time and experience from PvP ?
When you dying on poor bleed because you don’t use condition remove abilities -> maybe start eat some food with -40% duration + Rune of Hoelbrak -20% condition duration.
But this is so hard for you right ?
BTW: every single utility spell on my warrior and guardian remove condition + passive traits or F abilities. Players who use condition DMG build in WvWvW is only food for other “normal” PvPers

Main problem is this new burst meta(40% more DPS), Thief is really squishy class without defensive abilities like protection,endurance pain etc. built on evade mechanism.ArenaNet on last big patch make big mistake → nerf vigor and remove Feline’s Grace = destroyed Thief core mechanism
Look on other classes.
Mesmer -> Invurnerability,Evade,Blind,Blink,Portal,Stunlock,Invis,cleanse and massive burst DPS . Thats all in one build.
Warrior -> Hight HP pool,2x endurance pain,cleanse 3 conditions every 6sec,mobility, 2x endurance pain,berserker stance,massive HP regen. Thats all in one build
Elementalist -> no coment.

All single class has more than Thief.

The fact that they haven’t changed it yet obviously means that Anet wants us to run some kittened up hybrid build that doesn’t work. I’ve tried running hybrid D/D many times before and it just doesn’t work. Not enough dps at all. They need to increase evade frame and make this skill power. D/D shouldn’t be a hybrid set, we have p/d for that. I do like NinjaEd’s idea too, making it like whirlwind would increase mobility and give us a little more to D/D, and making it a bit more viable.
PEBKAC. Hybrid D/D Thief is maybe best DPS “build” in this time.
Make DB, in addition, in addition to stacking bleed, also put on 3 stacks of Vuln and a couple seconds of cripple and it will be good IMO.
Tweak the bleed duration if further balance is needed, the long duration bleeds are kind of useless with cleanses being so common

My thoughts on this haven’t changed since the last 100 iterations of this thread: An emphatic Yes to the more reliable evade frame. And a No to any other change.
Specifically to your proposition I think that having two different stealth access mechanics on a single weapon set might be a wee bit unbalanced.
I guess you’re right about having two different stealth access mechanics in one weapon set is abit OP.
But I like the idea that you can chose different ways to go into stealth in different situations, but with a very high initiative cost so it’s not spammable. In my opinion having different ways to get into stealth provides depth and rewarding gameplay for the Thief. Because the gameplay now is very spammy, e.g Cloak and Dagger spam, Black Powder into Heartseeker spam, #3 Evade spam on S/D etc.
We forget that D/D is not power weapon set, right now is 70% condi and 30% power and you say “Increase ini cost on DB” ? If you do not like it go play other weapon set.
D/D is now best hybrit weapon spec and dont need reworks.
The most useless skill I’ve ever seen. What purpose does it serve? Is it used for condi builds to spam 3333333333? Not very engaging gameplay there… Sounds like an amazing build. The evade frame is also very unreliable.
I would love to see this skill reworked. How about giving it a smoke field so it can be used to leap through with Heartseeker, but without the blind mechanic. I hate to see the skill not being used optimally. The thief class (particularly Dagger/Dagger Thiefs) is in dire need of something new and diverse.

And it’s broken, why a Zerk guardian should deal 800+ damage with burning with 0 condi damage?
Work as intended and is broken indeed, In fact Anet said Condis doing more damage then expected, srsly you can’t defend it, it’s a wrong concept.
The simply need to lower the base coefficient and boost a little (condi damage * coefficient) in this case condis would scale better if you have condi damage in your build and you have a low condi damage if you have a really low value in condi damage.
Example Burning
(0.160*Condi damage ) + 70 damage per stack per second at Level 80
So if you have 0 condi damage
Burning tick = 70 For example 4 stacks with 0 condi damage = 280 damage
If you have 1000 condi damage
Burning tick = 230 For example 4 stacks with 1000 condi damage = 920 damage
Old formulas (before patch) was
0.25*condi damage + 328
328 damage was a little too strong for a base damage so i think 280 should be better (considering now stack in intensity too)
with 1000 condi damage u had a single tick of 328 + 250 = 578 and it would be between 2 and 3 stacks with my example values.
With the actual values, condi damage is broken.
Joke right ?
All non condi DMG classes make 1k+ condi DMG since the game’s release.

I’m sorry, but where? People here seem to insist Rifle Thief is a thing, but in 3 years I have not seen a single hint of concrete evidence anywhere about Thieves getting Rifles. Ever. Seems like just a bunch of hearsay from someone’s initial wishful thinking, to me.
A Specialisation artwork showing somebody wearing Sneakthief armor, drawn in identical style to all the other Thief lines, wielding a Staff that can be previewed in-game as both a regular and Ascended version (exactly like the other Elite weapons), seems like more concrete evidence to me than anything else I’ve ever seen.
What people want or don’t want =/= what is more or less likely.

Guardian(weak on long range) -> Long bow
Thief (weak on long range) -> Rifle

2)S/D – gap closer,daze,invis,evade,boons steal,imobil,
3)D/D – burst dmg,execute/gap closer,cripple,invis,condition dmg,evade
4)D/P – burst DMG,execute/gap closer,daze,invis,blind.

Condition DPS on Thief is really low, you need sinister on making POWER DMG. Condition constitute about 40% of your total DMG.
Power Thief make +- 2x more DPS than Condi Thief

I would love to have bleeding damage a bit increased and burn stacking (not overal base damage and duration) lowered. Maybe the burn stacking must be done for each class now. I ahd another idea to clean burning always first, so a singel condi remover will remove burn. But maybe that would be a hard burn nerf.
Guardian – burning
Ele – burning and little bleeding
Engineer – poison,burning,bleeding,confusion.
Necro – burning,poison,torment,bleeding
Ranger – burning,bleeding,poison
Thief – poison,torment,bleeding,confusion, and little burning
Warrior – burning,torment,bleeding
Nerf burning definite ruin all condi build on class when use only one DMG condition like Guardian and Ele,
except that burning applies faster than you autoattack, and ticks over time? burn stacks are definitely over the top at the moment, a single cele ele can easily get 1.5/1.7k burn on your face, which is silly. And i’m not talking about the dedicated burn builds :p
You must use all spells on hight stack burning on short time(burning is shortest duration condition in game) your target use one single condition cleans and you make zero dmg and all your burning spells will have CD)
All power build make stronger burst and sustain DMG than conditions build and their damage can not be cleaned.
Shortest and highest condi tick that especially guards can keep applying constantly,a condi guard can stack 18 – 19 on me with his hardest Tick being 7.8.if you think this is somewhat balanced,then i don’t know what you’re smoking.Spikes are avoidable,constant burn apply’s is something that can’t be constantly cleansed or avoided since its alot of passive,we’re not all ele’s btw.

Symbolic power = 33% chance on 1.65 sec burning when you stay in simbols.One single cleanse destroy guardian burst combo on next 45 sec
Thief = clean 2 conditions every single stealth + when he use Trick with traits + passive condition cleane
Guardian = cleanse conditions on 80% utility spells
Elementalist = no comment
Warrior = every single F1 + all shout remove conditions or berserker stance.

Btw, maybe start post combat log screen no this table.This table shows damage to the "living"+"down mode" player.Players will receive more than 50% of that damage in down mode and this table dont show all DMG.

Passive burning proc for 3-4k ? Guardian has two passive proc
1) every 5 attack make burning on target(with traits every 3 attack) = with max condy duration in sPvP this passive proc make 1,358 DMG 3 3/4 sec duration = 362 DPS.
2) Radiant fire (Trait) = Total DMG 5080 10 sec CD, burning duration 11 sec. = 461 DPS
