Healing power strength increased by 100-200% is not insane.
Looks on all healing spell in this game http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Healing and see this realy bad healing power coefficient.

Mostly 0.1-0.3 and spells with 20-60sec CD have 0.5-1 healing power coe.

Old regeneration with 1k healing power = 255 Hp/s
With new +150% healing power str = 437 Hp/s or 380 Hp/s with +100% healing power str. And “new” healing power gear havent no offensive stats = zero DMG.

Me idea is make true healing/support class without DMG in this game.

How to do it?

First time rework healing power and gear with healing power.

How?

1,Increase healing power the strength of 100%-200% beacose “old” healing power is funny underpower stats.
2,Make and rework old gear with healing power on HP/VIT or TOU/boons duration and HP/VIT/TOU. All gear with the healing power will not offensive stats POW/CON/PREC

I agree with this, as it was extremely way too easy to give 25 stacks of confusion as a warrior. Every interrupt i would grant 9 stacks. (Distracting Strikes trait + Perpelexity runes)

Armor- Knight/berserker 50:50 with diwinity runes power/prec/vit/crit dmg accessories.
Food:omnobery ghoust(60% chance on crit: lifesteal )
Superior sigil of blood
S/P+caltrops with signet of malice and you are immortal

One single pistol wip heal you for 990HP vs one target(signet of malice) and 1050 HP food+sigil , 2970 HP vs three targets +1050HP food + sigil=one single pistol wip heal you for 4030HP vs three targets.

Caltrops(10s duration every 30 sec) heal you for 110HP vs one target per sec=1100HP vs one target,5500 vs 5 targets.

And dagger storm= over heal you for 8 sec.

This changes Signet of Malice so its active steals life, and its passive heals you based on damage you do.

Signet of Malice (1¼, 30 second cooldown.)
Passive: 33% of all physical damage done heals the thief.

Active: Your next attack steals life, damage done this way cannot be mitigated and cannot critical, lasts 15 seconds.
Healing: 3,275 (0.1 power)?
Damage: 3,275 (0.1 power)?

This would bring back burst thief at a sacrifice to the healing slot, but also be a great healing ability.

You are kidding me ? I use Signet of Malice 99% of me play time because he is best of heal in this game and you want this “…….” ?

Does the retaliation damage go through?

Yes. You get at least 2k damage.

2.5k vs one target,5k vs two etc. and yeas. This is the reason why not to use S/P on PvP.

So tell my why this isn’t always on your bar in SPvP?

1. It’s buggy.
2. It doesn’t cleanse conditions.
3. I can’t break stun twice with it.
4. I can’t use it as a shadowstep to be faster.

1. Not really, I only had it mishap once. It’s also been stated in the thread you can learn how to use it w/o it messing up.

2. Lets just stop using any ability that doesn’t cleanse conditions? Thieves don’t have a problem with conditions anyways, our heal purges the big 3. Ontop of the fact condition builds are absolute garbage due to the sheer number of condition removals,transfers, conversions.

3. How on earth are you going to get stunned a 2nd time after you are ported invisible half way across the map?

4. TEN THOUSAND RANGE, do you even realize how wrong you are?

Go and play Thief with this spell one hour, come back and say again "omg this spell is OP ! " because this spell failed 8/10 attempts.

AOE in all game must be

1)With low DMG→350dmg vs 1-5000 targets
2)With cap→7k dmg vs 1-5 targets
3)More targests in your aoe->smaller DMG→ 7k vs 1 tareget,3.5k vs 2targets,2333 vs 3 targets, etc

What you want ? Make 7k aoe dmg on 5 target or 700 aoe dmg on 10 target or 350 aoe dmg on 20 target ?

like above post says the damage of auto attack is high enough to keep the build viable even with a flanking nerf

this is exactly why the damage has to be reduced with something like 50% but keep the initiative.
thief play should be situational you shouldn’t be able to kill anything while the best option is “almost” always the same key this is why normal attack should be a better option then flanking so we will only use it to dodge a critical attack like warrior stun or remove stability etc so i believe in the damage reduction but keep the initiative the builds are already initiative orientated so they can spam it.
if you reduce the damage players will not spec to spam it anymore and you get a viable versatile balanced play style.
correct me if i’m wrong :p

sorry for this one thief colleagues just got to be honest on this one to improve the over all game quality

so you are competely ok with the the state S/D is in atm?
at least try to get a solution here instead of barking everything off like Anet is going to cut your junk of in the next patch.

they will nerf this one day,if only to improve the play style.
all we can do is steer them in the right direction maybe 50% reduce is to much but together with a dancing dagger buff and a 30% dmg reduce it should be a viable weapon set.

Nerf DMG ? Why no but boost other elements and other spell because Thief has really stupid weapon set combination, only one good setup with sinergi is d/p.

Truth be told I’m not the biggest PvPer by a long shot, but I’ve been using S/D since day one and would like to give some thoughts onto how to bring S/D more in line.

I’ll start with the biggy. Larcenous Strike. This skill has it all, power, utility, and defense. It’s become an all purpose skill that can win a battle with little effort. The skill shouldn’t bring both damage and utility to the battle. I propose they nerf it’s damage by 50-75%, increase it’s cost to 4-5 init (making it have a grand total of 7 to 8 init cost), shorten the amount of time you have to use it a touch, and increase the boons stolen to 3 possibly. Maybe give it a flashier tell as well.

In return they could perhaps increase the sword auto-attack’s overall damage by 5-10%, make dancing dagger inflict torment, and increase the daze on tactical strike a smidge.

I feel this’d make larcenous strike more risky to use forcing s/d users to make full use of their set, hopefully while still keeping them a viable threat. If it proves too harsh, buff something other then larcenous strike.

Must kidding ? 8 initiative is 66%, with trait 55% total Thief initiative.
FS+LS have same DPS as autoattack and you want to reduce 50-75% DMG lol ?.

How many hours do you have played a thief, If you can write such a nonsense ? 10 ? 20 ?

One hour is enough to notice that S/D thief is overpowered. Reduce 50-75% is too much but this skill need to be nerfed. You should not be able to dodge, deal damage (3-4k per skill) and steal boons.

Come in sPvP,I pick necro,warrior,or ranger and I will laugh your poor thief.

FS+LC This combocass time 1,64s
Autoattack chain Slice+Slash+CS 1,94s

FS 68dmg+ LS 136DMG = 204DMG per 1.64s = 124DPS

vs

Slice 72DMG + Slash 72DMG + CS 118 DMG = 236 DMG per 1.95s = 121DPS

I must say WoW and WoW,attack which cost 41% Thief ini have same DPS as autoattack chain

Autoattack chain – crypple+weakness (0 ini cost)
FS+LS – steal 2x boons and 0.5s evade (5 ini cost)

Enlighten me: How to counter sword dagger??

Hello, I´m running a glasscannon elementalist in tPvP and on 1o1 servers from time to time. Now, when ever I loose to a evade thief he insults me and says I´m a noob for not beating him and that I have to time my attacks.

Now, how do you time your attacks against someone who can be 15 seconds “invulnerable” while dealing massive damage with a standard glass elementalist, only having two dodges and 1-2 huge burst combos with obvious animations?

Don´t tell me this game is not balanced around 1o1, I know this but when people call me noob for loosing such a 1o1 i get kind of curious. Also such a thief can basically charge thru teamfights without taking a scratch and still dishing out massive damage.

My current opinion of sword dagger on thief is:
1. Its terribly broken.
2. Having evade, unblockable boonsteal+highest damage ability of the weaponset on ONE skill with such low ish cost seems broken
3. The access to vigour and the abillity to infinitely teleport out of trouble is just broken.

This being said: How do I kill a sword dagger thief face to face. I´m not asking for a 100% win strategy, just for a way to have a 50% chance of winning at equal skill level.

Use condition dmg and aoe S/D is realy weak vs condition.
BTW Glass cannon elementalist is weak to,use soldier amulet and you’ll be fine

I press 1 and my toon uses 5 is called a hotkey. A macro is a specific series of key strokes to perform multiple movements/actions in a series automatically.

This is the part I am questioning. With up to “34 macro’s” doesn’t this constitute a non endorsed product?

There is a difference between a naga hex/razor and a keyboard with 17 duel layer macros.

The mouse(s) use a hotkey input from the mouse. The keyboard doesn’t really state anything beyond, “A new way to crush your opponents.”

This is OK but if you use software supplied with your keyboard and make the macro “You click one and your character click 10x or use 1-5 spells” you are banable

Can someone please confirm for me that macro’s were banned in Tpvp competitive play, particularly the pax tournament that soon has its final?

This is not a dig thread, but I was under the impression that macro work most successfully when the a game engine integrates the macro and gw2 didn’t allow macro’s?

Macro are primarily used by PvP community players and aren’t really needed in PvE play through.

Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok.
You cannot program a macro to perform the same or multiple actions on more than one account at a time.
You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.

Why so much crying over this? So many games have smaller characters. Many people play this game for the asura height, not the meager benefits it provides. They will lose a lot of players including myself if they give in to your crying of such a minor issue. Fix real pvp issues, like condition spam.

…..my head… hurts.

This game’s only telegraphed is based on animations, that was Anet’s “design”.

It fails however when you have a race so small that the animations can’t be seen and thus gains a stupid advantage.

The whole game needs better telegraphing anyway, it’s ridiculous and they expected to make an esports with this?

True true. Looks on minion master asura necromancer and spirit master asura ranger with stealt,absolutely untargetable. Why is this Esport game has no normal targeting system ala WoW Aion and many other game with this target system options

Shadow Trap

If I trigger the trap, I do not usually teleport back to the trap but instead blink to a wall in the direction. For example in PvP map Forest of Niflhel, I set a trap at Mine and at the keep on top I do not teleport back. Note that it is within the 10k unit range. Maybe if it had the same function as the mesmer’s portal that you can teleport from any co-ordinates in the range it would work properly and actually be useful in those situations to defend points.

8 Questions for...concerning Thief Madness?

Boring read but a class should never be able to perma stealth when there’s no way to detect stealthed players. Its pretty easy fix as well but looks like peeps at anet don’t know wtf they’re doing. Remove Leap Finisher from Hearseeker, increase initiatives of CnD to 10 and decrease its damage to Stalker’s Strike (ranger’s dagger evade attack) and we instantly don’t even need to nerf stealth anymore or Thief backstab damages nor will you see cheesy P/D. If this hurts the class to the point of making it ‘bad’ (which wouldn’t be the case at all) they could always increase its HP to 15k as many other classes. Its funny that after 1y you can still perma stealth and spam CnD on walls to stealth rofl anet.

10 initiative for CnD?

It is not a zerg-limited situation.
Take ANYTHING populated. Check this screenshot.
Lion’s Arch, model quality and limit both on medium… not drawing ANYTHING AT ALL. And the fps went down the toilet.
NO. You’re completely missing the point. It used to work fine, drawed everything, I was around 45fps consistently. They change graphics, and the engine (that was alredy pretty badly optimized) becomes utter kitten.
Something happened ON THE GAME’S SIDE. Not a problem with my computer.

I play on i5 2500k ATI HD 7850.

40FPS with low character details, 50 with lowest. Maybe instal new drivers.

I heard you’ve been touching the culling, optimizing graphics and such.
As far as I can tell, now it displays tags for everything the engine doesn’t draw, even if those tag displays are disabled.
Add that to the usual culling – that makes the engine prefer to draw useless grass/stones with no interaction with the player, 50.000 units away, before drawing enemies- even further empowered (I used to see stuff on zergs, now I see kitten) and you have a nightmare.
I am not playing on a toaster, I have a i5 @3.10GHz, 16GB RAM and a geforce gtx 650 ti.
How come you make this game more unplayable with every patch?
Is this what you understand as a “fixing” and “optimizing” stuff?

Next time click ESC-OPTIONS-GRAPHICS OPTIONS-CHARACTER LIMIT and QUALITY low→lowest.

So what can you do when you face 1 of the best thieves eu ? (with legendary , second legendary in progress, high fractal lvl , mediocre sPvP lvl , “major” rank , leaderboard top 200 ) , considering that he is angry cause you just killed him, and he want to lick his wounds ?
It is lame to drag the fight away from his “black powder” ?

Blind needs to go back

Right now as it is a thief can spam and perma blind you all the time and you cant do anything about it, you dont even want to waste a condition removal on that because they are so easy applicable that is really unfair to have you all the time unable to attack, i find that this mechanic needs to go back so we can remove it just with the swing of the weapon is the only way to make it fair to the current state that is so spammable.

This thing makes aegis look like a baby.

How gw2 counts the damage?

I have been meaning to ask this for a long time.

I made this video some time ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D-BL1jJuDo

It shows me that I made 54 356 damage (by my calculations) in the screen.
You can also see a 10k crit that takes away about 1% of his hp.

And its not just that sorcerer on the video but every enemy. It shows I have incredible damage on screen but on reality it sucks.

When I do kill shot with my Warrior it shows bout 4k dmg and takes about 35% of enemie’s hp.

EDIT : I have the “all longbow arrows pierce” trait so Its not that

How the hell does the gw2 calculate the damage?

I see max 18k DMG.

And where you see 10k crit ???? 10k DMG on this video is full chain spell DMG

Why are Thieves so awful?

The outcome of a 1v1 battle if one of the participants is a thief:
1. Thief wins.
2. Thief escapes.
There is no third option. The mythical “thief dies” outcome is only taken by bad thieves.
Inb4 tons of thieves with comments like “i am pro 1v1 roamer n i die a lot, l2p”. These comments would be sad if they weren’t so hilarious.

You forgot a 3rd outcome.

3. Thief trolls.

Harass a group of people and perma stealth over and over with no intentions of ever trying to kill someone …just troll.

Permanent stealth over and over ?

Permanent- (comparative more permanent, superlative most permanent)
1)Without end, eternal.(Nothing in this world is truly permanent.)
2)Lasting for an indefinitely long time.(Heavy drinking can cause permanent damage to the brain.)

Want to see permanent stealth ??? Go play other 95% MMO Ultima Online,WoW,AoC,Swtor etc

P/D power builds?

It’s a shame to hear that P/D’s direct damage is low. In the web-based build editors it looked alright.

Well, you guys have convinced me. If I want to try P/D, I’ll swap to conditions. I guess with torment and the buff to blind, it’s only gotten stronger since I last played it. What secondary weapon set should I use? D/D?

P/D is not bad power build ! Yout CaD make good DMG -4k crit,autoattack +-850 and Sneak Attack +-2.6k, 60DMG per stack of bleed and skill “3” make really good dmg to +-.1.6k + jump back.

I love how people complain that 1 hit can cause 9k+ damage but then you have Warriors that can hit 2k+ 8 times in a row and I barely hear kitten about them.
