Charr in medium armor looks good
I don’t think you can make a statement as broad as that, and simply be wearing the same armour that everyone else wears. The cultural T3 chest is pretty much the only good medium chest piece for charr, hence why that’s the one that everyone uses.

I don’t know if you had experienced this, but i’m personally sick and tired of almost every jumping puzzle you do as a Charr or a class just as big like norn, kittens up every time I can’t do like any puzzle without failing all the time because of, screwed camera angles.
And the new JP is near impossible for me to do as I constantly look straight into a wall not knowing where to jump. Please fix this as i’m sick and tired of it!!!!

11sec imunite vs direct DMG
Actually, that would be 4 sec immune to direct damage on a 90sec Cooldown from a stance. And 3sec of blocking on a 30sec cooldown from a shield. All in all,you have 7 sec of immunity on direct damage on a 120sec cooldown. That will not save you from conditions. You will be down before you have the chance to use them.

Are you telling me, that a warrior is the best in terms of mobiliy, against an Ele and a Thief ?
What would you want ?
For starters, better sustainability, and reduced cooldowns on skills, for the warrior. As for the thief, the only way to fix them, is by removing Stealth-stacking, and adding some small cooldowns to avoid extreme spamming of skills.
At the end it doesn´t matter what i want. What´s matter is what the Devs are doing.Button on the /kill all playrs within a radius 50 meters ?

Yes. In theory, but you seem to forget the 90sec cooldown on Endure Pain, and the 30sec cooldown on shield stance.

2. blind. most control you’re talking about are just hammer skills, or a utility which has a huge cooldown.
3. stealth. disengage and heal to full health before harassing again.
4. bait. wait for those skill to be used. chances are,.. he’s vulnarable without recovery, after.
endure pain has 90 sec cd. and cost a utility slot that could be a condition removal, stability, or a combo starter.. its REALLY bad!!
defy pain has a 90 sec internal cooldown!! it activates after an attack that reduce its health to bellow 25%… so a backstab for 15k will kill it without activating this trait. and you get to choose to activate it or not.. and its a frikkin grandmaster trait!!!
shield stance activates for 3 seconds and has a 30 sec cooldown!! if equiping a gigantic board isn’t enough for a hint to bait it out,.. i don’t know what will..honestly..I doubt you’re having trouble with warrior on your thief..
you just want to look as weak as possible, to protect your class..

most thief eat warrior alive @ wvw. only skilled warrior can defeat a bad thief..while you got stealth to disengage. recover your initiative without being seen.. warrior is a bare target for you to kill.. when most cooldown is down.
you got your homing, teleport, stealth to deliver your damage, to easily hit its target.
warrior must aim manually most of the time. with slow and clunky animation.while toughness and vitality goes a long way for a thief.. because they have the tool to outlast the battle..
warrior only have itself.. and when most damage mitigation is on cooldown, it gets bursted pretty fast.. and heavy armor is useless to protect itself.. when it has no more block, protection, regen, stealth, auto condition cleansing, or even invulnerability.

This suggestion is made with sPvP in mind, I decide to put it here, so I can have more opinion on this suggestion, whether it is from PvE or PvP player or WvW. This is not a QQ, please not,it is simply just a suggestion. Any ill intention post, unconstructive post is not welcomed in here. Please discuss in the peaceful manner. Thanks for reading.
Here is my suggestion:
People complain a lot about Thief S/D in tPvP due to his cheesy skill and brainless to use by spamming S#2 and S#3 skill. While I am not complete disagree with this to some extent but in my opinion any Thief spam any Skill is NOT a Pro thief. I also play Thief myself, so I know it requires some skill to stay alive in the heat of the battle. However,any Thief that spam these two skills can still be deadly in PvP in 1v1 or for harassing purposes. Ok enough with all the intros, here is what I think:
-Make Shadow Return cost Innitiative on activating, start with 2 (debatable)
-In return, make Shadow Return be activated on will, not in a time frame like at the moment,use it or waste it.
-Inflirator Strike will be blocked out until Shadow Return being activatedPros and Cons of this change:
Pros:
You have full control of when you want to use Shadow Return, no more wasting.
Less look at your tiny duration time to time your return.
Distinguish between a Pro and a Spammer.
Less reposition control is required.
Put and End to all OPThief post out there.
Higher Survivability thanks to less reposition required and activate at will.Cons:
Higher Innitiative manage skill required.I think I am being biased here since I listed so many Pros but only 1 Con. People feel free to add more when see fit.
As a conclusion, a friendly remind that please keep this post as constructive as possible.

I have never said i want warriors to be able to have more burst…
But you say thieves burst is OP. Thieves have a marginally better burst than warr; it isnt really much higher.
Do i want my heavy armor to actually be WORKING as a heavy armor. yes.
Heavy armor gives +200 armor over medium. Thats 200 stat points, or 20/30 trait points. Its quite a bit! Also, those are “free”. Of course, if you go full berserk, any class with soldiers or knights gear is gonna have more armor than you. But thats because you CHOSE to go glass cannon.
Having a berserker warr with more armor than a knights thief would be stupid; think about it, why would ANYONE use anything thats not berserker then?

Thieves backstab is not that OP. My glass cannon guardian can teleport into a group of (non skilled) non-bunker players and drop them all in the time a thief drops one.
I downed 3-4 persons in under 2 seconds more than once!
Just save yourselves, focus 5, sword 2, f1, weapon swap, gs 2 (4 if they dodge, then 5-5-3 ). Thats pretty much it, if anyones still standing just judge to him and finish.
Of course, this does not work against skilled players, but then again, BS spam doesnt either (i.e: thief vs guard… backstab is blocked by aegis, everyone dodges / blinds, if thief got caught by gs5 or doesnt run away hes instagibbed.the 100crap doing marginaly the same burst as a thief ??
umm it have a 40 second internal CD on frenzy.. and a nother 40 second CD to get the stun you need to actually hit anything.And when you face a warrior using a GS, you know he is going to try it, because you can see him from the start.
This still doesnt justify 100crap skill to have the burst.
Its kinda much harder to see an invisible thief…
sorry.. my warrior doesnt have Aegis to autoblock the first stealth attack.
nor do i have protection, or much other boons either but might.and about the armor… once again… doesnt matter if you call it zerker or knight…

A thief that traits/gears for pure defense will have higher armor than a warrior that traits/gears for pure offense.
A thief that traits/gears for pure offense will have lower armor than a warrior that traits/gears for pure offense.
Meanwhile, a warrior that traits/gears for pure defense will have higher armor than a thief that traits/gears for pure defense, due to the innate bonus from heavy armor.
It’s not a difficult concept to grasp. You’re attempting to apply RP/classic trinity rules to a system that’s about prioritizes player choice over predetermined class roles, or at least tries to. A player that chooses to gear themselves defensively should have higher defensive stats than a player that chooses to gear offensively, regardless of armor class.
+ 200 Toughness vs Medium armor and many + armor or reduce DMG traits and utilities.
There is counter to 12-28k backstabs…. called moving.
you have to see the thief first…
And you have to hope they dont have their shadowstep…And you think its fair to have what you say… 28 k invisible stab openings ???
Thief wouldn’t waste there escape tool to attack you.
The damage is only 814, that isn’t very much if you stack a lot of toughness.
If you never want to be 1 shot by anything, get runes of the svanir+become invincible at 25% life.
if you really hate thieves, play guardian and faceroll protection, damage reduction.
and your on with this thoughness again…

Either thieves have a bug on their stab skill, bypassing armors.
or
Armors have a very early and very strong diminishing return.
Wich makes you think that 3.5 k armor sounds alot, but might in reality be worth schit.or it could be both…
or maybe iam just very very unlucky to face very lucky high critting thieves ??

I had a thief player in my guild.. a very good one.
He totaly amazed me one day in wvw.
I was running in the zerg with my warrior.
We were at the top of the ogre camp, and we saw an enemy far far far far down
at the bottom.. running away from us.What happend next was just realy totaly insane.
Our thief, actually downed and kill that runner in less than 3 seconds…
I couldnt belive what i just saw… i was laughing so hard… it couldnt be true.From top of the ogre hill camp (with the ogre npcs)…
and swooosh… the thief jumped and shadowstepped and what not.
to catch this runner… about 900-1200 range from the supply camp npcs…
its about that range from the npcs.. as i could shoot at them with my rifle when i finaly got down there… still laughing…Now, this is a realy far distance.
and it took like 3 seconds to get down there and insta kill that poor runner.Insane ??? totaly.

How does a warrior get 20k vitality. You seriously need some Pvt gear if you want to compete in WvW. My Thief has 23k health, 3k armour and 2.2k power when I’m running Pvt. You’re obviously not running any vitality gear and not enough toughness for WvW. You deserve to get nuked by a glass cannon.

The difference is that they had a stealth for 3-4 sec with trait and in wow infinity.

If they nerf their insane burst, and give classes ways to reveal it, and reduced their movement speed in stealth.But if thieves have infinite stealth.. they should only have 1 skill to vanish, with CD…

Rogue in WoW has spell imune shadow cloak,vanish=insta stealth and breake all ground control(frost nova roots etc.) cheap shot 4 sec stun,kidney shot 6 sec stun, gouge incapaticating 4 sec,blind 10 sec. And the same hp as other class
Exactly… we had all those skills.. and we needed to use them all.
not just one.. but ALL.And still we were balanced in pvp.
If you say we had all those skills and didnt need them,
then you cant have played against very good enemies.. or perhaps you just sneaked around in stealth.. waiting for a last hit shadowstep kill and do a kill steal…Warriors had shouts that revealed us, bleedings, stomps… heavy armor…
Mages had AoE, and blinks + frostnovas and pets.
Paladins had AoE, stuns, DoTs.
and on and on it goes…MANY MANY skills that was made. each class had a few of their own to reveal the rogue.
in GW2.. thieves invisiblity is supreeme. there is no way to reveal them…
(combined with their stupidly op dmg).
The difference is that they had a stealth for 3-4 sec with trait and in wow infinity.
I’m sorry but I couldn’t hold my laughter. It is very obvious this guy is a former wow player, trying to apply those mechanics in gw2. I imagine him as a backpedaling, greatsword swinging zerker himself. He most likely played a roflstorm warrior. He’s clearly kitten because a “Rouge” as he’d call it, trolled him and he’s yet to improve as a warrior to /laugh and kill that Thief the moment he unstealths.

I’ve played wow for 5 years at least and rogues were always OP, yes I mained one for a long time as well. They had a low skill entry and high skill cap. Hell be glad thieves aren’t the evasion, CloS ing, vanishing, prepping, immortal things rogues were.
The thief community did it’s thing once more, pick out the bad apple. If people have such a problem vs BS thieves, why not test and improve instead of yelling every thief is OP. I am a thief, and I can avoid backstabs 50% of the time.
What also cracks me up is that he is asking for extra armor “because real life”. I’d be fine with that if you moved at 25% speed of other classes!
Actually.. my main in wow was Rogue. raids and pvp.
after that it was mage + warrior + dk + pally + hunter. depending if the guild needed something special for special encounters in raids.
but my main was rogue, wich i played 80-90 % of the time.I had pretty good gear on my rogue. 1 step from legendary upgraded daggers in cata.
just to give you a hint.I could kill every class in wow in pvp.
and i did have burst dmg. as i played backstabb build. (sub).
BUT, the most important thing. i could never every. 1 hit anyone.
not even the cloth users. (unless they were low lvl and very low gear, pointless).But plate users. paladin, deathknight, warriors.
Those armors was realy hard to penetrate.
And you realy had to use ALL of your skill and trinkets to kill them if they had good gear and was skilled. 1 – 2 misstakes from my side.. and i died.
But the important thing.. it took time to kill them.And i could never reset the fight as many times as thieves does in GW2.
wich is just stupidly op.here.. in GW2.. thieves do like 18 k stabs on warriors and guardians.. or even higher.

For Mesmers: Welcome in Thief world.People have moved from swearing on Thief to the Mesmer. Who will be next ?
First 1-2 sec movement are fine but after 1-2 sec when you’re on the move, weapon moves 15 cm up
I’d argue the NPCs are good for testing, because we have no way of knowing what ‘traits’ SPvP opponents have or what stat ‘amulets’ they are wearing (I’d bet on Soldier’s).
Damage was similar on the golems, for whatever that’s worth.
I can see 4k from a berserker build. Surviving an encounter with another glass cannon becomes exponentially more difficult, though. I prefer to outlast my opponents if at all possible.
Leads to some boring bunker vs. bunker battles though. First to get reinforcements wins!
Combat NPC in Mist has bugged stats = wrong on test DMG
Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
Enemy 2000 Power weapon damage 1010 skill coe 1.
2000×1010×1=2020000/your armor
Your armor x Enemy dmg
1000 × 2020
1200 × 1683

Armor=Power when the weapon skill coefficient is “1”.
When someone attack you with 2,000 power and your armor is 2,000, => enemy power is 0

I brought that bug up a little while ago. The weapon is misplaced when they run. Other than that I have no issues.
All weapon on Charr have this bug not only sword. Me and many other Charrs players report this bux 100x during the past 7 months.
And ArenaNet ? Have been silent.
Shadow-Refuge is definitely a very strong utility, but makes the game really interesting and not that predictable. I think without shadow-refuge, the thief loose much viability for a team.
But in general I agree with stealth being a problem. It should be decreased slightly in its duration.I can agree with that.
But you also have to think that shadow refuge is a MUST HAVE for any thief and, as you said, the thief will lose too much viability without it, meaning its a SINGLE SKILL which makes the class viable ( even S/D doesn’t really offer that much in terms of team utility).
It’s pretty much the same with mesmers, forced to bring IoL and Portal + random stunbreaker mostly because other u-skills are , yes strong, but not on par.
With the thief that’s is not even the case: there’s nothing as strong as shadow refuge, you’re basically a moron if you don’t pick it and are severely hampering your team capabilities.
Back in beta an engi could stack 20 + secs of stealth ( now there’s a cap ) with smoke fields+blasts, i believe it’s time to nerf shadow refuge+ shortbow and balance the thief profession better, because currently we’re helded back by these things ( devs will always say, regarding thief sucking, " but hey, they have massive mobility/AoE + massive AoE stealth, they’re fine !!! " when in reality, we’re not).
Shadow refuge has DARK combo field no SMOKE.
Again here shows how people like mystification.
Don’t forget to factor in:
S/D steals boons, so not only do you hit harder, the opponent just lost his protection and regen.
Besides, Backstab is burst/spike damage, while Sword has incredible sustain. It generally does way higher DPS in a longer fight.Sword dealing more sustained damage than Dagger is a myth, which is based on the fact that autoattacks are slower and numbers are bigger. In terms of dps they are pretty much equal. Dagger Training will actually put Daggers ahead, that’s how close it is.
The main advantage of the sword is the cleave on the autoattack. Daggers on the other hand will leave your target permanently poisoned, which is quite strong.
dagger dps is FAR higher than sword’s.
Under 50% health ( where HS becomes also more rewarding) the difference is esponential.
People simply like to to cry on forums when something is annoying to fight against ( like mesmers, phantasm mesmers or P/D condi thieves) when actually they might even need some buffs.
OH dagger is terribad. Sword may even need some damage buff, and a thief seriously needs to be able to share stolen boons.
Actually S/D STILL NEEDS BUFFS TO BE ON PAR WITH A+ TIER PROFESSIONS like guardian, mesmer, ranger and engi ( with ele following closely).
Currently the thief ( D/P and S/D) is slightly superior than necro, which is slightly superior than war. The thief NEEDS BUFFS.

Ladies and Gentleman welcome to GW2, the most balanced and fun game of 2013…hold on do you play thief and mesmer right? No?..KK then I give you 2 options:
A) Uninstall and wait for ESO or some other game
B) Delete your profession and switch to thief or mesmer, because devs play them ( therefore you’ll never get nerfed…like never a serious nerf..NEVER) and because you automatically become a PROP.S I’ll prob get an infraction for this post…but I don’t care..at all!
Already stopped playing, got bored in the end to have to fight every day against hordes of mesmers and thieves, you don’t get a single sPvP match without thieves and mesmers in it, not a single tPvP without double mesmer or triple thief
You can’t leave base in WvWvW without getting ambushed by 2-3 thieves moving in group spamming that kittening flanking strike like the PRO they are or spamming blinding powder and HS for even more awesomess
But in the end..thieves are UP…:(

The new thief sword abilities are way too strong. Evasion + boon stealing all while hitting for 1.5-3.5k? It’s impossible to deal with this for most professions.

My 2730 toughness mesmer got hit for 5.3k from that xDWell toughness doesn’t reduce damage very well anyway.
