BP doesn’t really have a lot of numbers. We’re just good at splitting our numbers and calling for help from other BLs. Like right now, Kalkz and I took all of AR BL with 15 people, the same 15 that defended BP BL from SBI’s mini golem rush. We also had about 15 people in SBI BL taking everything there and nobody in Eternal or BP BL.

BPs best feature is all the commanders listen to each other. Eternal commander will come to home BL whenever anyone asks no matter who the commander is.

Heres the problem, go read the BP forums (most of it is a pretty funny read) according to these forums we play for second, according to your forums we shouldn’t be hitting BP even though they are in first because what did you do to deserve it. I’m just curious now … who exactly are we suppose to hit so no one is offended ?

I did enjoy the “ALS commander using hacks to cap their BL” thread, even when another BP pointed out the placement of the AC works people deny it.

and yes, you guys need to learn to peek over the gate and hit stuff on the other side. You know, the stuff folks used to do waaaaay back before zoom hax became the cool new toy.

The AC placement on the inside is placed to hit the gate, so they have a hard time peeking over . This gives the guys on the outside the advantage of placing ACs just close enough to the gate but just outside all the red circles to peek over and hit the ACs on the inside.

Its a lost art, and since only the Commander has enough opportunities to learn from trial and error, that very few folks learn how to counter properly.

Decided to take a few minutes to check this out since I’m specced into ACs.

I’m standing where the AC operator was and there’s no absolutely no way to angle, and fire, an arrow cart barrage centered on the stairs northwest of the gate, as shown in the left edge of the second screenshot.

Can you explain how to do this?

Also you guys failed miserably to take any keeps last night when we actually had coverage… You must feel a great scene of accomplishment rolling our map when there is a total of 5 players on it.

You guys had a good number of people in Eternal and in BP BL camping our south tower so don’t use the numbers excuse.

Also, last I checked, not everyone lives in your timezone, so we win in logic.

You guys did not have 5 people, I saw 15+ ALS and pugs defending against our 20.

Also, I think SBI’s population depends on morale. That’s how BP used to be before we vsed Ebay for 13 weeks in a row. We kept losing but we never gave up cough unlike AR cough.

Just wanted to say that how FA took overlook last night was fairly impressive display of might. Without a waypoint, effectively separating reinforcements from the back door like that was a good way to flex muscles.

I don’t know how many times I died running through that army, but I did make it into the keep 3 times. And coincidentally each time I made it in I downed someone from the walls that dropped a rare. Was the most profitable 30-40 minutes of GW I think I have ever had in WvW!

Woulda been more impressive if we weren’t outnumbered 5:1.

I wasn’t at DR garrison in this instance so I can’t really say anything (although I highly doubt BP could cap anything without 5:1 numbers), but I find this statement hilarious. If by improve you mean “get more numbers” this statement would be correct.

Whether you like it or not, BP is a zerg server. With your numbers you should easily be in tier 4, if not tier 3, but you are left in tier 5 due to your lack of skill and tactics. Just another IoJ here everybody, nothing more to see.

Ehmry had easily 30-40% more numbers around the clock then we did, we held on pretty good to keep them in our tier, some of the servers in tier 4 we were probably on par with, but ehmry was the ones stuck in our tier for 13 weeks, not us. Ehmry is a tier 3-4 server, were tier 4-5.

you cant say we dont have skill when all u see is a zerg of numbers, and first off yes it takes skill and coordination to hit NW garri, a tower, and then hit water gate once ur distracted – try to get pugs to do that, you wont do so well.

All i can say is, get a public teamspeak that everyone on the server uses.

On a side note: IMO, NSP is the most “skilled” server we’ve played when it comes to their overall general population being tough to fight in the open field with relatively even numbers. Sorry, EB and Maguuma (you are tied for second though).

It kind of is true though.

In the context of running solo to 15 people, it is. NSP has more strong players that run in that range than any server we have fought. Keep in mind that the more people you run the less individual skill is required from each player.

The requirement for individual skill goes down, the requirement for smart leadership goes up.

Now, what old-schoolers consider skill are things like using your abilities and cooldowns efficiently and recognizing what skill your opponent is using and countering it with your own in a timely fashion. When you get in the 20v20 range it’s more about coordination and positioning which requires a good leader and good listeners. It’s a different type of skillset that can be appreciated in its own right, but its not what “old-school elitists” ( ;P ) consider to be individual skill.

That is why it rubs some people the wrong way when some BP talk about skill since they are working from a different definition of the word.

I would like to learn where to place AC’s outside the north inner gate of Hills to be able to hit like this. I have other pics taken before this where the AC’s followed me back all the way from the supply near the gate.

The circles tracked me back all the way from they supply which is a pretty huge field of fire.

Place an AC next to the gate and you can use it to AoE everything inside.

I’m pretty sure BP has more then one group running around. Correct me if I’m wrong. I may not have seen your group, but we wiped a few others. Unless you’re saying that you were in every group that night.

My apologies for being negative. Woke up in a nasty mood. It’s not that WvW hasn’t been fun this week, there’s just a little sense of hopelessness when the outcome has already been decided.
Anyways, I’ll be out there, ready to be stabbed in the face.

I didn’t mean to be insulting at all. All I said was we were hitting watergate and not one DR came to scout us until we got to lords room. You guys are a good server, I’m not sure where all your numbers went from 4 months ago but hang in there. Let’s hope next week you get a more even matchup.

Yes BP has 3x your numbers, but besides that fact, we have learned a lot from ehmry and our pugs are skilled. I understand its hard to tell when we steamroll you with double your numbers. When we have a Zerg of 50, you can bet that at least 40 of them are in teamspeak, when we have a Zerg of 80-90, we have at least 60-70 of hem in teamspeak. Teamspeak numbers is the first goal to coordination and to massive improvement in a server. Our server went from real puggy, to a very organized server in 1 month(how long we have had our ts) we are able to jump 50 people from say eternal to BP BL with 5-10 seconds before 10 golems hit a door if its spotted and said in our commander whsiper list. We can stop the Zerg on a dime and not have 80% of the Zerg run away chasing 5 people into a choke full of siege, when a door falls we can have 80% of the Zerg stay and wait for a port to pass the 15AC’s that DR places and not get slaughtered on the gate (don’t matter if ur 4:1, superior ac’s hurt hah)

I am not bragging, I am just explaining a little more in depth what the forum trolls can’t (they are not a representation of our server, were all quite polite and stuff, we actually don’t even have any major trolls anymore the last one went to ehmry)

Someone already pointed out the fight at DR garrison as an example. You guys ran a force through our west wall, which we engaged, had another full force at the NW tower, and ran a third through the water gate. We had maybe 18 defenders total.

That was me that went through the watergate. 18 people is more than enough to defend a fully upgraded Garrison with 500+ supply. You had nobody scout the watergate, we made it to lords room then one person noticed us. You had A LOT of siege inside and just 3 people would have stopped our attack.

We were in your position 13 weeks in a row. What we did is improve.

Just to update, we hit 337 people on TS at reset yesterday. That is amazing.

Also BP is listed as a “medium” population server, which means it’s 500 gems to transfer here.

If nothing else… I’d say let’s organize some: 5v5, 10v10 and maybe even 20v20 battles between servers. It would still keep the fun up and possibly bring more people out from us smaller servers.

Great server. We’re still growing up (averaging about 150 users online on ts everyday and 270+ on reset) but give us time and we’ll be a big threat in the future.

and all the percentages end with a zero because I only ran 10,000,000 random trials for each set of results, in order to save time. for more accurate results I’d need a lot more runs, so sometimes I’ll run 10,000,000,000 random trials overnight (it takes about 4.5 hours to do that many samples for NA, and around 7 hours for EU because they have more servers).

It’ll be nice once we don’t have to fight AR/BP anymore… simply because you’ve neither learned nor implemented adaptive strategies over the last 6 weeks.

It’s one thing to say “population imbalances” made for crappy gameplay, but even the small roaming groups are just bad.

Instead, what’s happened is larger tower hugging zergs afraid to come out even when there’s equal numbers.

I think BP improved a lot and we can really show it in our next matchup. The past two weeks AR didn’t really show up and pose any threat and all BP has been doing is defend from Ehmry.
