I saw a ranger doing a mini puzzle to get to a vista in WvW yesterday.
I let her finish before dispatching her to the afterlife.

I’ve never felt like “the man” in dungeons (other than mobs going down slightly faster)… but in Queensdale… yeah… Bring it on Bandit-scum!
Unfortunately this is entirely subjective. I bored of GW1 after a few hours… Am loving GW2 though.
I haven’t bothered with the monthly reward but if that’s all you get then it’s a bit stupid. I bet you also get a few crappy blue items that your profession can’t use?
Nope, no crappy blue items I can’t use… the 20 coins, the 67 copper and some XP.. that wasn’t much.
Thanks for the 20 mystic coins, I know I have a lot more to grind to use them and they’ve earned a special place in my bank to gather dust, for now.
The 67 copper you gave me was well received, in the sense that it was not well-received at all, considering I get 5 silver for a daily reward.
complaint over
But love you guys <3
We do have good melee with very high damage. We’re also pretty weak and can get one-shotted.
As Whargoul says, damage mitigation is important. Look for casting animations, know the fights, know when to dodge. There are plenty of mobs both in and out of dungeons that will take us from full health to post-toastie in 1 second. A good example, is Kol in Harathi. He has a very vivid animation when he is about to do a stomp. That stomp will most likely kill you, if not put you on your bum for a bit with 5% health. But you can melee him, if you know when to dodge.
By the way, saying “I’m sorry” is pretty condescending, and it doesn’t make your statement any truer. Also you present it as fact, which it isn’t.
Because a thief running around in full heavy plate-mail makes perfect sense.
A good mesmer is far from a weak class. They just require a bit more skill to play than some of the others.
And no, I’m not a mesmer.
I’ve been told several times by different players that they’ve seen the very same spammers posting for more than a week and that they aren’t being banned.
So, these same people haven’t been blocking (and perhaps not reporting) them?
Are you actually suggesting events aren’t broken right now?
And yes, its very annoying. In the Charr 50-60 zone I came across 3 broken events. It really breaks up the pace of the game when you have events that never move forward. Frankly I’m avoid PvE as much as possible until these issues are fixed.
I think he may have worded himself erroneously. I thought he meant that you don’t fix something that you don’t know is broken.
Dumbest thread title ever.
etc* :P
I agree on the amount of time CCs are up for. My thought is that this is for PvP balancing – but i’d be totally down with ANet having a PvP and a PvE duration.
You can certainly switch your bows over, out of combat… but this requires knowing that something is immune to “x” in advance of entering in to a fight.

2) make one universal dungeon token, so we can go around exploring different dungeons, aim for “dungeon master” AND be rewarded with a gear set WE LIKE THE LOOK OF MOST.
Except that, with this in place, people will simply farm the easiest dungeon out of the lot and the rest will gather cobwebs as not a foot is set in them.
Get used to the scenery
I ran an all-thief run of CM last night, and it was a blast. The first boss took longer than usual due to our ranged abilities but then we tore the place apart.
Everyone knew what to do, we combined our skills, and completed in around 35 minutes. Now, we weren’t all level 80 either… group composition was mostly mid-40s, one 50 and one 80.
No. Trinity. Needed.
Whilst it is unfortunate that a bug caused this to happen….
“Slap in the face”…
Why be so childish?
Gem-store aside, chefs can make dyes. If they are account-bound then slowly, the need for dyes disappears and it stops being a tradeable commodity.
Some heart events can seem like a drag, it is true. However, this is generally because a “similar” Dynamic Event is not going on in the surrounding area. Some which can take 30 minutes to finish – can be over and done with in 5 if a Dynamic Event is going on. DEs seem to be a bit bugged (as least on my server) recently, so when I’ve gone back to help friends to hearts I did, it was a bit of a drag.
I don’t think things need changing, however. We’re only at the end of week TWO.
… and they were right!
Today, I got 5 thieves together. A 40, a 42, a 48, a 54 and an 80. And we went to do CM, as an experiment.
The first fight was a little tougher than normal, but I put it down to our lack of high-damage ranged, and you don’t really want to melee that guy if you’re squishy.
But after that, things were slaughtered, even in large groups of mobs. It ended up being one of the fastest runs I’ve ever done of CM.
Try it!
I haven’t checked the EULA thoroughly, but “advertising” may be in there, but not sure about guilds.
Even if it is, I think he’s a kitten.
From what I recall, they said guesting would be enabled once free-server transfers were disabled.
Check out the Order of Whispers pieces. I really like them.
I find it easy to get a name – GW2 allows spaces so I just come up with a last name.
My example is, so “Tim” is taken – be “Tim the Tumultuous”, “Tim Timmers”, “Tim of Timsville”.
This lets everyone be “Tim” who wants to be, while giving a way to distinguish them.
Time for “Tim the Enchanter”… awwwwwww!

Each trait, on their own, doesn’t appear to do much. But I’ve found that they complement your play-style. By closely reading the effects of each minor trait, and picking appropriate major traits, combined with your two weapon sets and your own unique play-style, then you come up with something quite powerful.
For example, I chose a thief build that was originally venom-based, where the author would start from distance using ranged before going in for the kill. It was okay, but it wasn’t quite me. A few modifications here and there, and some utility changes and now it suits my play-style better.
Sure, they’re not major ones like other MMOs talent trees where you unlock the “I-Win” skill. But they’re not supposed to be that. It’s to tailor your character to how you play it.
I find them very useful. In a large DE group with little to no comms it can be a bit hit and miss, but within your own group, and knowing the people you’re with, firing salvos through fields is extremely effective.
To say they are ineffective is misleading.
oh my god.
Some people and their problems.
I’m actually shocked at this topic.
?
Could be spelled Billybobbenjamin for all I care still pronounce it as zaitan…….
I guess you are unable to tell the difference between a legitimate linguistic question and complaining.
You’re either a troll, or incredibly misinformed. I listen to classical music, and happen to like Jeremy Soule very much. You are touting your opinion as fact, which it is not. But if you don’t understand how the Beatles changed things somewhat, then there’s little hope for you.
Maybe they are taking the Blizzard route and, rather than banning in each circumstance, banning in “waves”. E.g. make them think they’re getting away with it, then suddenly hundreds get banned at once.
They said it a long time ago, way before release and as you know – things are always subject to change before and after release. However, it is not just the Gem store. Dyes can be crafted by chefs. If you make them account bound, then the ability for chefs to make a profit by selling dyes decreases over time.
I like how the advice on Waypoints is “don’t use them”. I’m fairly sure they weren’t implemented just to have pretty diamond shapes on the map.
It’s pretty simple: If loot doesn’t scale with your real level, then so neither should waypoint costs.
Yeah, the argument “don’t use them” is pretty asinine. Apparently, due to waypoint costs, everyone should be content to run from Divinity’s Reach to the Plains of Ascalon.
Only one other person wants to know what the deal is with these things? wow.
Not necessarily. Perhaps others just don’t have anything else to add. No point having a 100-page thread with “Yeah” and “this x 10”.
One could argue that, as you still have guild chat, you have plenty of people to talk to, in your native tongue
Different strokes for different folks, Esya. Overflow is a minor inconvenience and I like the system because it means you don’t get a “Please Try Again Later” message when you want to log in. And you’re not there for very long. We all like communicating with others in our native tongue, but it is not like you’re there for very long.
Because you don’t have a problem does not mean others don’t have a problem with it too. I do communicate globally at times, for me it is part of the fun to chat with the people I play with.
I do agree that exposure to other languages is beneficial, but I don’t think this has to be the place for that.
But I don’t understand why it is an issue… I mean, I’ve been on overflows as much as the next guy, and it’s not often that the majority isn’t English. But worst-case scenario, you’re just not chatting in “/map” for a few minutes. And this is such an issue to you, that you want the server architecture changing so that you can chat in /map for a little while. Doesn’t that seem a bit… I dunno, over-the-top?
In my experience, I’m only on Overflow for around 10 minutes. I don’t generally find the need to communicate “globally”. And besides, exposure to other languages is beneficial to you. I really don’t see your problem.
Please re-post with your thoughts in a coherent manner.
In Ebonhawke, there is a grave to “Rue” and a bit of flavor text. This is in reference to a character from the first book of the Hunger Games Trilogy.
Suggestion: Make items that are pending to be mailed, more obvious

Posted by: Fiennes.9568
I do a lot of mailing, sometimes with stuffed bags. When I want to mail somebody some items, I drag them over to the mail-slots. However, the “fade” that the game applies to the items that are pending is so slight that many of the times, it is difficult to distinguish from normal items.
My suggestion is, make them 50% darker than their usual images, and that will make it obvious which items have been dragged, and which have not.
Thanks!
I disagree strongly with your bank-slot versus bag-slot argument. Bags are craftable by players, so if you make them account-wide then eventually, that removes that ability from the economy for those that can make bags.
