I’m more proud of these than my legendary that is collecting dust.
My goal was to collect all the skins. The 4 skins I’m missing seem so close, yet are so far. At this rate I estimate that it will take me another month or two to even get a new non-duplicate skin. If I were 5 years younger, or if there was new content/dungeons coming instead of these temporary distractions that I prefer playing actual adventure games over, I’d stick to the grind longer. So I gave up.
Thanks my friends and the talented/funny pugs I’ve met, you’ve made it a memorable grind for me.

A thing of beauty. I initially wanted a Fractal Sword, but managed to get Bolt first … and I’m still waiting.

Im always welcome in groups – and my primary is a ranger. Ive NEVER had anyone complain, or have issues with my damage or playstyle.

I do love how people blame all fail’s on rangers though – when its not always the case. LOL “We suck, blame the ranger!” Yeah… these groups usually suck WITH or WITHOUT the ranger – while a good ranger can help dramatically!

A “good” Ranger would be a lot more useful as almost any other profession. Fact. We have to assume random players are all of equal skill level.

Not to mention, I’ve never actually seen a “good” Ranger. They always like to sit at max range (out of range of group buffs) doing low DPS while providing limited support with their longbow or shortbow instead of getting up-close and personal doing decent damage with a GS or Sword/X.

I would sooner kick every Ranger and be labelled elitist than to carry a bunch of bads hoping for a Ranger who’s trying to be useful pop up once in a blue moon.

In a competent group (i.e. no Rangers or people using “imaginative” tanky/support builds) Alpha doesn’t require much brainpower anyway.

Honestly – and a lot of people agree with me on this – it requires less thought to dodge than to stack, especially when you have Warriors using Whirling Attack (vital for max DPS)

The difference is anything other than grenadier for an Engie is bad, so we’d be better off with most others anyway.

Even then, it’s a DirectDmg/ConditionDmg hybrid. Ascended = Zerk, Exotic = Rampager. But this is all offtopic.

Dust should have been this price all along. It’s by far the most useful T6 so SHOULD be higher priced that the other.

Learn to dodge is a start. Feline Grace essentially gives a Thief 3 dodges for a full endurance bar.

1) Ranger – period. Broken/useless profession, this is not news. Players need to be discouraged from playing this.
2) A second Necro/Engineer. One of these hogs the condition limit themselves, having another is a big drain. I will, however, ask the Necro if they are a power build before removal.

I often kick others for weapon choice as some are objectively bad, but thats another story.

100B → WW (swap mid attack if not next to wall) → swap to Axe/Mace for Vuln and superior auto attack damage → swap back 100B → WW.

Eviscerate = 1shot Acolyte.

Also should be carrying a sword/warhorn to travel the bridge quicker and trigger the event sooner. Combine this with Bull Charge and Rush on banners and you can save 4-5 seconds per run easily.

I’m not sure why this isn’t even in the game. People are gonna check your gear anyway, by getting you to ping it. There’s really no reason an inspect option ISN’T in the game.

Elitism comes along with it – but if someone is advertising a speedrun and kicks you for being PVT, you had no room joining that group and were being ignorant by do so.

Rather than complaining it will segregate players, perhaps they should think about joining likeminded groups?

Even with footsteps, Meteorologicus will never be as cool as the Princess Wand, and Anomaly will always top Minstrel.

Dust SHOULD be the most expensive T6. ~35s seems a fair price in contrast to the price of a lot of the other materials at the moment.

They’ll likely drop a bit soon – a lot of the people are abusing the MF buff in Southsun (hence the low priced blood) and move onto farming dust shortly enough.

Doesn’t mean I don’t want it. My alts are suffering – only my Warrior & Mesmer have Ascended Amulets because I wanted the Gold Find bonus ASAP. Could use the AR, but not wasting a month of dailies on one.

At least some other method would be nice, Accessories got a diferrent method I’d even be happy with Karma even though Legendaries drain that currency.

Only issue is I use the mace in the OH only (MH sucks, this is not news).

According to the wiki Legendaries in OH don’t have footsteps shown, but others have told me Moot in OH still gets it footsteps.

Can anybody confirm this please? If not, no biggie, it’s still one of the cheapest Legendaries and will be well used regardless ^.^

Disclaimer: This build will not make your PUG group godlike, nor shall it make a bad group good, it is designed to make mistakes from your teammates more forgiving, ideal for when you dealing with players who are lacking in the dodging department.

This build takes a more defensive approach to Strife’s build allowing PUG groups to be more bearable, due to it offering a near 100% protection up-time to allies in melee range.

Weapons – Knights
Backpiece – Berserker
Accessories – Berserker
Amulet – Berserker
Rings – Berserker
Runes – Soldier
Sigils – Force MH, Energy OH.

If your Jewelry and Backpiece are not Ascended, Knights stats will serve you better. If this is the case, use Exquisite Ruby Jewels/Ruby Orbs in the upgrade slots. All Infusions on Ascended equipment are Toughness/AR, as I wanted to reach 3,000 armor.

Traits/Skills:

The traits & skills I included in the link are not set in stone, nor ideal for 100% of situations. Most the changes will occur due to being in a situation where reflections are or are not useful.

Swappable skills:

Wall of Reflection <-> Retreat. Change to Wall for situations where reflections are handy.
Hold the Line <-> Shield of the Avenger. Change to Shield for especially heavy projectile encounters.
Signet of Resolve <-> Prayer to Dwayna (Human heal). This is debatable, but due to not having Signet cooldown trait the Human heal will heal more per second. This comes at a cost of losing the Signet’s passive condition removal. If your heal spends long periods off CD, use the Signet.
Renewed Focus <-> Tome of Courage <-> Damaging Racial Elites.

Swappable traits:

Pure of Voice <-> Empowering Might. Due the Hammers slower attack speed, you will not be able to maintain as many Might stacks as you would with a GS or Sword (~3 as opposed to ~5), this leads me to believe Pure of Voice is a better choice where conditions are present. And yes, this does stack with Soldier Runes.
Master of Consecrations <-> Vengeful. Use Master of Consecrations when you are using Wall of Reflection.
Writ of Persistence is used as it allows Symbol of Protection (Hammer auto-attack chain 3rd skill) to pulse an extra time. More Protection = More Healing for you.

I do not use Two-Handed mastery as Mighty Blow has a very short cooldown, and the other skills are extremely situational.

Altruistic Healing:

This trait is the center of many debates. It is the entire reason Guardians are willing to sink so many points into the Valor line. This trait allows the Guardian to be extremely defensive, healing the Guardian small amounts for every boon applied to allies.

Sources of healing:
Altruistic Healing – 72 per boon applied.
Virtue of Resolve – 102 per tick.
Regeneration – 168 per tick.
Selfless Daring – 429 per dodge roll.

Conclusion:

As said previously, this build will not make a group godlike, nor will it miraculously turn around a bad group. However, when played correctly, this build will allow mistakes to be made from players in melee range. The near 100% protection up-time allows groups to absorb cleave damage, and helps the Guardian to shrug off a lot of the damage taken from being the anchor. A lot of players do not use condition removal, this build will allow the Guardian to take care of that almost entirely by themselves – the key is to watch the party window. Correct use of Aegis allows large attacks to be entirely negated, perfect for when lazy PUGs do not dodge.

+Remember virtues have active effects! The number of Guardians I see with all 3 virtues off cooldown for an entire dungeon is unreal. They can really make the difference. +

They are working on an LFG system.

It was likely held back so they can qualify it as a content update, just like they always do.

To my knowledge, Meteorlogicus has a glow in the middle of the orrery, which I believe follows you, trailing behind slightly.

Seems working as intended to me.

Only one that is “broken” is potentially Minstrel, as sometimes the effects do not work, and maybe Kamohoali’i Kotaki on a Mesmer, which effects do not proc on auto attack unlike on other useable professions.

This isn’t about “L2P”, as I’ve said, we completed the dungeon – we all know how do dodge…This was my 5th alt I was playing on. (With 3 alts being 80 already.) We enjoyed it. We thought it was greatly tuned until…TROLL. No-one here is talking about facetanking content. No-one talks about making things incredibly easy. We’re talking about Balance.

Going into the fist dungeon of the game (again, Storymode), should not have such a crazy difficulty spike, and yes Storymode is the learning mode. Learn the basic features of the dungeon and is considered more lore-heavy than combat heavy . Combat heavy moments are for Explorable

Also, If you’ve not done storymode recently, get a character to 30, go in, find a troll, then come back and discuss your experiences. There are few people who actually go and do it before they post responses that “it’s perfect”.

The trolls attack is very obvious and easy to dodge. The first dungeon needs to have mechanics that forces a player to dodge large attacks. What better way than a slow attack, that while unforgiving, gives plenty of reaction time?

Likely about 4g per hour, too many variants for me to want to number crunch it.

If you do make a character specifically to speedrun COF for money, make a Warrior. There is next to no demand for Mesmers in COF anymore, far too many people play them.

The armor should be account bound until used. Leave the tokens the way they are, I don’t want to have to put my many thousands of tokens on each individual character rather than just piling them on my lesser used Necro.

You know why there are so many Humans? Because outfits are actually designed to fit them, as opposed to being stretched or shrunk as they are for Norn/Charr and Asura.

PUGs are getting worse.

That is all, no buffs, just bad PUGs.

The only constantly spawning spiders are the one you fail to dodge (it slams it’s left fist into the ground, then shakes, dodge ~3 seconds after this). Failing to dodge that = spiders spawn.

All it takes is 1 or 2 people to not know what to do. I duo-ed this boss with a friend today, it’s really not hard as long as you get the dodging down.

I went up to 20s when fotm first came out with 0 agony because of terrible rng back when everyone was still learning them.

FotM 10-19 is balanced fine for not needing AR, and arguably 20-49 is as well since many people got to FotM 80 back in the day where anything past the 30s meant AR didn’t matter, and all Agony is avoidable other then Jade Maw, which can be bypassed using the 99% rez trick before 50.

If you’re running with less AR than is required to reduce it to 1% per tick, you may want to look into what the agony applying attacks are, and how to avoid them.

Why do players always need their hand held and mistakes to be forgiving? You need to learn to dodge at some point, and this is one dam obvious attack to avoid.
