While I feel for you guys, there’s no “perfect” account. No one has such things regarding achievement points. You could be close to it, but in no way you have all achievement points available.
So you actually don’t have a perfect account and you won’t quit the game because you missed 5 achievement points that some of your competitors got. Just wait for them to do a mistake (eventually everyone does) and you’ll be back up in the game.
With ascended gear, you get + 14 main stats, + 11 secondary stat (+ 1% crit dmg if that’s the secondary stat).
On heavy, you get 60 more armor, which translates into 3% more defense if you have no toughness at all, less than 2% if you already have toughness as secondary attribute on all your items and even less if you have toughness as primary stat.
If precision is your main stat, you get between + 0 and + 1 crit chance.
If power is your main stat, you deal roughly 0.3% more dmg unbuffed, 0.25% more buffed.
If toughness is your main stat, you get + 14 defense. You can add 25% of the gains of the armor. Congrats!
If vitality is your main stat, you get +14 vitality. Congrats, taht’s not even 1% more hit points.
I let you compute for the next stats.
So if I translate it correctly, you character is better by a mere 1-2% overall. Let’s fight. You in ascended armor, me in exotics. Well, if we play in the night and I switch my Sigil of Force to a Sigil of the Night, then I’ve gained more from my sigil than you from your ascended armor.
When I have 256 or more of 1 item in a collection slot and I want to show it by doing shift-click, the actual value is not shown, but rather that value module 256.
So if I have 1000 ori ore, for instance, and I shift-click, my friends only see 232 of them (1000 % 256 = 232).
The thread will die soon anyways, Lilith: the archive forum awaits us.
You forgot the big part: EU or NA?
Oh man… you English-guys have a culture I’ll never grasp. In mine, this would never be considered as sarcasm.
No, no feedback at all. Even when we ask politely, we don’t get any answer: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fractured/ArenaNet-can-we-gather-some-feedback-too/3337399
Ah yes, the title of that thread is definitely “polite”
A little joke makes the title not polite? I don’t see why this is not polite. Probably ‘cause I’m not a native English speaker, but using a little joke on the answer they keep giving us never made anything not polite.

When the clockwork thingy was on, I spent my entire 2nd week not doing WvW nor any dungeons longer than 20 minutes to be sure to get the Frostgorge roll. It never happened while I was online. At least now you can pay your achievement.
On another note, I stopped caring about achi in between. I feel much better about the game.
I even got 3 +1, but never any +2.
Shakkara, thanks for the link. It put a word on all my thoughts regarding levels.
Mesmer damage is actually good… when you have your 3 phantasms/clones.
This challenge should be extended to playing water fractal in level 40 with the tools of everybody (meaning, 45 AR + no ascended underwater weapon, because who actually wants/has underwater weapons?)
Remove the levels from this game and you have… exactly the same game. The levels are only here to hinder the player.
I started playing in September 2012. There was a lot of interactions at all levels in all maps. It was fun. I was disabled at that time and I made a lot of encounters, I had fun with people.
Now? Not anymore, no one goes out in the map to help the lowbie, to have fun with him. Everyone knows the game, everyone knows the zone we’re in. We don’t share any new experience with someone: we only repeat it again and again (5 level 80’s with 4 on the grill).
Yeah, if I ask, one guildy will come and play for 1 hour or something, sometimes saying “oh, I never noticed this”, but soon he’ll come back to WvW or to his dungeon.
I don’t make any new friends in lower-level zones anymore: only in level 80 ones, where we have the challenge together. There is no more adventure.
I don’t understand how new players make it, because all I see when I level a lowbie in open world is maybe 2-3 people on the map, with different levels and all they care about is levelling, just as I do. It feels like we’re forced into levelling that way, forced into something not fun. I try to interact with them, but they don’t like playing in a lowbie zone, so they’re not having fun and they’re not in the “mood” to make new friends. I keep trying, but there will be a point, where I won’t be able anymore. Actually, when we level our char, we are not players: we are only level grinders, getting to 80, one heart, one waypoint, one skill point at a time.
Now, if I could level my characters in a rich universe like Skyrim or Fallout, then I wouldn’t mind as I started Skyrim and Fallout (1, 2, 3 or even NV) each a dozen times, each of those started game got finished. But everything in the open world seems so empty. It’s beautiful, but empty.
What’s the point of playing a boring solo game for 50-100 hours to finally enjoy the multiplayer mode afterwards?

ArenaNet,
We would like to “gather some feedback” from your part. Can you please explain us how you think this release is a big success or (potentially) a big failure?
Since you last posted in this forum, nearly two weeks have passed. So… what do you think about the release? Is it a big win? A big failure? What are the top points from your perspective and how do you think this release made Guild Wars 2 better?
We would really like to hear from you regarding this release. You have been unusually silent on the matter. And we would really appreciate if you gave us some feedback.
Thank you very much!
Zedd,
We have tried to be constructive, but as Bright said, there were zero response in the “Fractured” subforum since the release. As in “zero”!
We were promised decent stuff. I don’t mean super big thingies: only decent. What did we get? 3 new fractals, of which two ripoffs from previous Living Stories. Okay, that’s fair. We were promised fixes to the current fractals yet we have a thread listing dozens (yes, plural form) of bugs in the fractals that make the progression actually difficult or boring. We were promised fractal sin boxes only to learn later that they don’t appear in the currently unlocked levels, so even if that was part of the release, no one actually witnessed it being part of the release. We got ripped off our fractal levels, where some people actually had challenge playing in levels 70+. Now that challenge is over.
So no, we are not ripping into ArenaNet because we are unhappy. We are sad about all the promises, about all the hopes we had to have better fractals that weren’t fulfilled.
If you try to look from the perspective of a game developper, would you listen to the most experienced people giving their advice? Would you care about fixing the pressing issues? Would you say things and do the opposite?
This is no small disappointment: we were promised decent stuff for this release, but what did we get? Barely anything. If they simply had spent their time fixing the current fractals and implementing the small quality of life improvements everybody has been wishing for one year now instead of making 1 new fractal, I’m quite sure you would hear so many complaints less.
In short, we don’t think that they’ve ever listened to us, except for the skin part and as Bright said, it’s not working 100% correctly. So yes, we are disappointed.
They’re “collecting data”.
Do you create an infinite loop like the snowflake thingy? No. So please… don’t compare the two.
Yes each dungeon has a recipe. I personally received the one from cof. They are super rare, but the best one is likely from Arah, because it made the “only” soldiers trinket, (now there are more soldiers stuff, but back then it could be sold for 20g).
There are several recipes per dungeon. See http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats#Dungeon_recipes
That aside, I’m not happy with the “have enough AR or go home” instability or the scripted AR of the “bonus fractals” as well. (Not much of a “bonus” anymore since they pop up at all levels now.)
We have quite a few players in the guild I run fractals with that could do those higher fractals as far as player skill is concerned without a problem. But their lack of AR mostly prevents them from doing those (unless they enjoy death by script.)
What I’m the most disappointed with is the management of alts. I have 1 main character in high levels fractals. Cool now all my characters can go there… Heck no! They don’t have enough AR and getting 45 AR on each char is already a pain (time-gated by either laurels or guild missions). Now they want us to have 55 on each char, then 70? …
Hello,
To this day the fractal skin box did not drop at all. No one ever got this item.
All rare items, from unique skins to precursors to ascended weapon boxes drop all day and no one is complaining about them missing. Also, they are indeed listed in the API.
When I run the API to fetch all known items, nothing similar to the fractal skin box is present.
Could you please perform a double-check that the box is indeed on the loot table and accessible to us?
Thanks!
At this point, I’m not even sure that ArenaNet still has the information about our previous fractal level.
So to refresh ArenaNet’s memory, I solemnely swear that I was level 81!
Okay, maybe it was 49 instead but hey I’m getting old, my memories aren’t as fresh as they used to be.
If you look at the API, the box doesn’t exist yet. Hence no one ever dropped it.
They said it would be rare, but this rare?! Zojja’s boxes drop by dozen every day, each precursor too, but this one box never.
All infused items have new ids. So they are new items. They didn’t update the recipes with old items to new ones.
One of the reasons im now running around hours in WvW just to ocassionaly steamroll 1v3’s.
You get good rewards I hope!
Pfff, I don’t believe this video, it’s too fast. This definitely cannot have been run in Clerics!
In short, No. This isn’t a CoD game or WoW. Stop asking them to pander to the lowest common denominator.
Could you elaborate? I don’t understand the references, having never played to the mentioned games.
Well, I’ll only take the pre/code one. Thanks!
Regarding the rest, I actually like what they do with the forums. But… I’m not on 1920 pixels
Staff guards are in for a treat tomorrow. No spoilers plz
People that staff bosses are bad players.
It will prove you wrong
You got my complete attention! o_O
Ok, I made a complete list:
- For “consumable”.“type”, only 8472 is affected.
- For “unlock_type”, a lot more are affected: 36517, 36408, 36409, 36518, 19988, 39490, 39487, 39488, 44877, 44881, 44723, 44068, 44882, 44878, 44601, 44724, 47880, 48953, 48952 (all these are finishers)
Healix, why do you come with a single tweet when dozens of post/emails state the opposite? You’ll probably ask for a list, so I’ll point to your own posts, because you replied to nearly all of those with that single tweet even when proved wrong.
One guy from Arena Net staff not knowing about all that this is about and replying (rather quickly, so no real time to actually check) isn’t a real proof when we got dozens of posts stating the opposite.
So please, just stop quoting that tweet.
The daily rewards are like this now:
1-10
11-20
21-30
31-40
41-50
But of course, you get the reward for the minimum between your PRL and the level you played if you haven’t received it yet.
Why should they hide upcoming sales? I see exactly the same thing in the RSS feed as I do on the web site. I don’t understand the issue.
When you look at the website, you see only the sales for today.
When you look at the feed, you see that there is some code (supposedly server-side) that, if I interpret correctly, hides the sales for days being not “today”.
Therefore I conclude that:
1. they don’t want to show the information.
2. the code that should run on server side doesn’t run when they deliver the feed, hence the bug.
If you want proof that I see future sales? I’ll spoil the sales of tomorrow:
- Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic 25% Off!
- Minis 3-Pack Set 1 (10 with 35% off)
- Select Finishers 50% Off!
Yes, +12 has hit the API’s items list today.
This means that someone crafted it. +18 has yet to be seen on the items list. This means it hasn’t been crafted yet.
Oh my mistake, I’m only installing my fixed hardware today so I haven’t played yet since the release.
Anyways, with this in mind, I’d say you can still deal with it with only 60-65 AR: get a good heal, use regen and that’s it. Getting 1536 +1 Agony Infusion for 3 +10 Agony Infusion would require 384 runs, which is a bit too much, isn’t?
When I use
in the forum, I expect that my formatting is kept, like a table.
While the html5-spec doesn't say that a fixed-width font should be used, a very large majority of websites use that convention, even in forum software. So please make it so that [pre]
renders in a fixed-width font.
Thanks!
No need for such a high AR level. The values here are like the old 45 AR for levels 40-49. There are several ways to bypass this with the current 55 AR. One of the most common is getting 2 guardians and have them to timely use Book 5 and spam Book 1.
I get most of my GW2 website information through the RSS feed.
We’re currently in a sale period and the feed shows all the foreseen sales until next Monday.
You might want to hide that information from us.
Using 2 + X Agony Resistance to get 1 +(X + 1) Agony resistance is a real trouble if you take the math.
So I don’t know the plans. I don’t know if you want to drop + 2 – + 3 Agony Infusion in the future. For this, let’s assume that you don’t.
To play level 50 with 70 AR (which is the estimated no-damage threshold), you need therefore 30 (from normal trinkets) + 10 (from weapons) + 30 (3 x +10 Agony Infusion).
Currently, to make a +10 Agony Infusion, you need 512(!) + 1 Agony Infusion, and roughly 7.5 gold. Gold is marginal, tbh, given the price of the Agony Infusion on the TP. So… 512 + 1 Agony Infusion, that is something like 128 runs in fractals! This formula is something like 2^(N-1).
So seriously, that means two things. The first is that you expect players to play a few fractals and sell their + 1 AR on the TP. The second it means that if people don’t want to buy, and assuming they’re playing 2 fractal runs a day (41 + and 31 +), a player can get one + 10 agony in 64 days. But to get to 70 total, we need 3 + 10 Agony Infusion, that means playing for 192 days! And that is… without counting the + X Agony Infusion you create in between.
So now we’ve proved it’s a grind, let’s be pragmatic and suggest transformation to your awful recipes.
A simple change is all we need: we split the recipes in two:
1. A + 2 Agony Infusion requires 2 + 1 Agony Infusion.
2. A + N Agony Infusion requires 1 + (N-1) Agony Infusion and 1 + (N-2) Agony Infusion.
The number of + 1 AI required for a + N AI is: phi^(N + 1) / sqrt(5), rounded to the nearest number.
Yes, this is the Fibonacci sequence, slightly adapted (initial values).
With this for a + 10 Agony Infusion, you only need 89 + 1 Agony Infusion, which is roughly equivalent to 67 runs for a full set of 3 + 10 Agony Infusion. 67 runs is already a lot (more than 1 month if you play 2 runs a day). Especially if you wanna play with your alts.
So yes please, reconsider the formula. The sooner the better. Check the table below to see how the two formulas compare.
+N Current Fibonacci
1
2 2 2
3 4 3
4 8 5
5 16 8
6 32 13
7 64 21
8 128 34
9 256 55
10 512 89

I see only one death for her: hanged, drawn and quartered because she’s the incarnation of the betrayal of Arena Net’s writers.
Everybody says we should get 10s per level. I strongly disagree with that analysis. Fractals should give a decent amount of gold from the start, at level 1.
If you play level 1, why would you ever receive 10s. Everybody is complaining about getting so few gold, why would you expect that newbie can get 1.26g from a dungeon and 10s from their first fractal. No, simply no.
I can see something where you get 1g for levels 1-10, 2g for 11-20 and so on like the OP suggested. But 10s per fractal is just disgusting for people starting fractals.
If you want to reward the levels as well, I can maybe see something like you get 1g + 10s per fractal level. I’m just saying no to 10s / level only.
What do you want to be translated? All the other texts are technical texts that don’t need to be translated…
I’d fill a bug report if I were you.
And before you ask, you get the IP by doing /ip
You’re welcome.
“ping AR, if you have no recommended AR, gtfo”.
Sorry, I didn’t know you’re a woman.
Regarding the text, yes, I know, I read above: I’m only playing the devil’s advocate. :p
phys, maybe he wants the challenge in the appropriate order, making 43-44 after 49-50 ;-)
It’s like when a network broadcasts episode 4 before 3, when it’s broadcast you actually don’t know, but you understand when you see 3 afterwards. So all subsequent watchers can watch 3 before 4.
This is working as intended.
Yeah, the only problem here is the intention.
To make sure that no one plays kraits ever.
