This is GW2, not GW1 obviously, and not everybody played GW1.

GW2 may be based on it, but it’s not GW1. You elitists can fondly recall it and try to draw comparisons, but it won’t matter. This community wants to do these things and don’t have the support of Anet yet.

I for one could not care any less about GW1 or the people that played it. I play GW2, and I want to fight other guilds in my pve gear, not mist gear, or with mist rules.

You and Achillies can complain, but you’re living in the past. Build a bridge and GET OVER IT.

Like others have said, this thread is for the GVG players of GW2. You old timers have made your points, but that should be it. The community that wants this will continue to drown you out.

90% Of the time server A and B will GVG on server C’s bl.

This makes it easier for server C to defend their home BL since A and B will gave less people capturing objectives.

Think about it.

Also, GvG players want Anet to create an arena for fights so it doesn’t interfere with the wvw lovers. Maybe you should help with that instead of trying to be negative.

FA has a growing south american population. The guild CL just joined our ranks.

What time zone do you play in mostly?

Gvg exclusive map with a number of different arenas, all with spectators allowed.

If it was open to all servers it would really bring the scene to life. As it is now, we are at the mercy of rng matches which means we may never face all the top guilds.

This scene is starting to catch on. I know a lot of people on our server are starting to get the bug and as much as some people think its ruining WvW in its present form… that’s probably not a bad thing.

The unofficial GvG scene finally puts to rest the junk that gets tossed around on the forums about who are the best. Now we can actually see it. This strengthens good guilds, and forces weaker guilds to improve. Overall the quality of wvw player will go up because of the people that participate in these events.

It’s an evolution. It’s a revolution.

Tonight my guild had 2 gvg fights (one unofficial) and after it was all said and done, top guilds from all three servers gathered at south camp to hang out and watch Agg open field fight RAM. I have never seen all three servers stop what they are doing and hang out like this. EVER. Shoulder to shoulder without trolling on the sidelines. There was over 60 people there guaranteed. These events are bringing servers together, rather than pushing them to hate eachother and creating a lot of mutual respect. The guilds that win these challenges get to make amazing videos promoting themselves and you never see any kind of disrespect to the loser afterwards on the forums.

Respect is being earned out there, and its good.

What I learn this week:

For the 2nd time in a row in 1 month, TC and Mag are working together (many times, TC and Mag were found together in the same buildings just waiting). While I will not be there to witness the gore feast, we are not stupid and every server know what is coming up.

This coming friday, TC will make sure DB is dead last by, as usual, not attacking Mag BL. And Mag will do the same. Mag will coordinate all their efforts on Friday to wipe all DB structures and, both servers will camp on the res waypoint of DB. Mark my words. It will happen again.
But you know what? Even if you wipe DB wvw to nothing, the rank of all the servers may not even change again. So… here is my take: WHATEVER!

My brother and I are non-WvW players (you can assume its always 2 persons playing and sticking together) and only enter it for the sake of map completion. We also do not PvP ever.

Usually when we see any visible enemies, we’d avoid them. But the other day, we were both attacked and killed by a Thief. It was sad but kind of expected given our lack of PvP skills. I am not raging.

Anyway, since I am forced to enter WvW for map completion, I’m here today to ask for some advice on how to survive such encounters. Or good habits that will at least make his killing us more difficult. Ideally, we’d like to force the Thief to break aggro and let us WP out to another part of the map.

We have Lv80 characters of all classes so I will welcome general, as well as class specific suggestions.

JQ lost the PVF war to MAG and took it out on BG and SOR. I’m betting their new found energy was from being called terrible last week by Maguuma and a few FA players. It’s good to see they trimmed some fat and put those fairweathers with terri-builds back in to the PVE zones. Good on ya JQ!! You tell those fairweathers to stay away when big boys play

Ill have a video up in a couple hours of the gvg. Not my finest play since I was bagged, but at least you guys can see it. One of the first two fights was not counted due to interference.

I gotta take my hat off to SOS yesterday for pulling that pug out of stack before the gvg match started and melting his face. I’m sure you could tell by all the /cheer + /laugh that it was appreciated. Our channel was busting a gut over how quickly it happened.

He calmly sat on the sidelines after that.

Then I guess everybody should be thankful they are not in tier 1. Speccing for zerg balls is lame.

A few members of GODS recently moved to DB to set up shop, but most stayed on FA to form BOSS. The week they moved, FA beat DB…. coincidence?

Anyway, I have to say I’ve enjoyed fighting CD and SOS roamers and small groups so far. It’s refreshing to actually find some really solid teams running.

I know the score this week may already be predictable, but I hope that doesn’t stop people from having a good time. I look forward to the gvgs and scraps with you fine folk.

yeah i don’t post much on the wvw forums but i think this screenshot says it all.

Tsk. CD is seriously lacking in Sea coverage. I would say that I am impressed, but I’m not because it’s not hard to take objectives when there is no one there to defend them.

GG with spawn camping us with siege at 2am EST, FA. It’s dirty pool in most people’s book to do that and for you you to do that when it’s a known fact that we don’t have people to cover, you’re showing that you really haven’t changed too much from those days before when I fought you on another server for 4 months straight.

SoS.. waves we meet again! One day we will be get the coverage needed and I think when that happens we will have even more and better clashes.

ps. just thought I’d put this out here for those that don’t remember. Once upon a time FA was a crappy server. Then when they announced the closure of free transfers, they got a huge influx of fairweathers and bandwagoners. To this day, that’s all they are. They wouldn’t know what loyalty was if it kicked them in the kitten. SoS and CD are the losers of Transfer Wars, and FA was a big fat grubby winner. So remember that, boys and girls, while you are fighting out there.
