The 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th of August had fights which totalled 8-10 hours TOPS out of a week that has 168 hours.

This happened for 6% of an entire week and probably only removed 1.5% (15/1000) of the daily player base from ppt gathering.

I think you overestimate the impact.

Nerf lobbyists are worse because they wont change their play style to adapt.

Another misconception is that, because there is no current game mode for gvg activity, it doesn’t have legitimacy in GW2.

The problem with that is that people do want it, and have already created the framework for it. There are hundreds of players engaging in it and those numbers keep growing.

It can’t be ignored and it wont go away any time soon. The more people that post in this thread, good or bad, the more this topic stays at the top for everybody to see.

So keep bumping this thread haters. We appreciate it :D

It would be best if all gvg guilds in tier 1 moved to lower tiers and left the zerg balling, ppt loving players in the “top tier”.

Since no skill is required up in those ranks anyway, this should have little to no effect on your precious coverage.

Are we to assume that you are not in a position to gvg Jinks, or perhaps “dodging” the request?

What time zone are you in? It seems a tad early in the day for beer.

Why is winning tier 1 important?

Are the rewards over the top omg amazing? Nope.

Why not have fun instead of trying to have top ppt 24/7.

I’m all for GvG but it’s becoming tiresome seeing all these posts.

It’s obvious people don’t understand what the players want.

All GVG groups need, is a way to fight each other on even terms, in a troll free environment, where guild and server mates can come watch. THAT’S IT!

Until that happens, wvw is THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Well in this case, yes they don’t matter at all in WvW because you guys do nothing but killing each other. You don’t take any camps, kill yaks/guards, siege towers. You are literally grouping up in a corner and kill each other, make a video about it and get comments like “woar that was a sick 2 minute fight!”

You earn your respect through other means, like being outnumbered and yet continue to fight and maybe even win. Not (sorry that I repeat myself) by staged fights with a set number of players.

Tonics also save commanders from being focus fired so I think they are very important.

Commander focusing is a relevant strategy in gvg, but I would think it would be frowned upon.

I normally don’t run in a blob, we just ran with some friends of the Guild ([RIP]) and [INC] came to some of our fights, we went to some of theirs. This week we’ll be back to a smaller force, but I’d been gone all week, and said “YOQO” and decided to blob it up. Gotta counter those FA and Ebay blobs. ;D

If you’re looking for a good time, hit SIC up for a gvg.

Maguuma gets it, TC gets it, DB gets it, SOS gets it, FA gets it… and other lower tiers get it. WvW is turning in to gvg because that is the best way to survive, unless you thrive as a roamer. Blobs are for the lemmings of GW2, and will start to get eaten alive by gvg groups that devour pug zergs.

GVG is better than spvp, but Anet wanted to push spvp as an esport.

It will get priority until it’s realized that spvp will not turn esport in its current form.

There won’t be an answer on this topic because the answer is that their resources are being focused in other areas.

I would be extremely surprised if any attention or energy was given to GvG.

This isn’t the full story. What happened leading up to the kick? How many times did you die?

I want the whole map redesigned. The center island would be removed if I had the ability to do so. It is one of the LEAST strategic areas of the map. Surely with all the misused land in the BL, something better can be done in the south and middle of the map. Either that or make underwater fighting 1000x better. I think the map redesign would be easier and more enjoyed by all.

I would love to see the map redesigned to encourage the two invading sides to attack each other. Being a home BL, should the home team not get better advantages to terrain, towers, keeps and camps?

I mean really, if you are going to develop a large defensive system to defend your lands, it shouldn’t have large back route paths to avoid your defensive structures. Add more camps to the map so that the home team can rely on more than JUST NORTH CAMP! (sorry for caps but its frustrating)

Put a keep smack dab in the middle between the two attacking servers so they have something to do besides pushing straight north every single time. The ruins would be a great spot for a fort. As a defender, this is an automatic 2v1 situation on reset and can leave you holding on for dear life at garrison for several hours with 0 supply coming in from the north.

HOME Borderland should offer a little more safety! It should be better designed to funnel enemy forces together which would discourage garrison tunnel vision.

Started off the night meeting FTF in CD BL south camp where both teams shook hands and danced a bit

Then it seemed like we got painted with a target as FTF and Ash teamed up to kill the 13 [SIC] that were on the map.

Enjoyable fights none the less.

Really hoping to get a more competitive match-up. We don’t match up well to any server T3 and above. They seems to hand us our hats in an efficient manner.

We’re in a tough spot, in t4 we do pretty well and that bumps us up. However the jump from T4 to T3 is a pretty big jump, and we start getting spread to thin…we’re more a T3.5

Thanks for the match up this week.

Many on JQ were unsure of our future when we went into the match up against FA and TC a few weeks back. JQ had lost a number of players and many of us asked ‘what is JQ?’

Since then JQ has taken stock and come to appreciate even more what BG and SoR has to offer, concurrently being appreciative of what other servers have given us.
TC showed us again what good communities can do and how to win without winning. We learnt a lot from FA too and their fighting spirit, their ‘If it’s red, it’s dead’ policy that upset many dolyak, but they kept fighting no matter what Respect. Even Mags taught us what real trolls are and how to fight!

It was good JQ took a break and met other servers, we learnt a lot. It also gave us space to find ourselves again and think what does tier 1 mean to us. Many of us now have renewed vigour and understanding, we come back to BG and SoR with open arms.

JQ wins this week but it’s not the guarantee that it once, but that’s ok. JQ has come to appreciate even more the fights that BG and SoR put out. While trolls will do their thing, the veteran players take it to the field and the more balanced of us see how the current tier 1 match-up is the most dynamic we’ve seen (since launch?).

It’s a love hate relationship, but deep down inside we all love this match up. Respect to our BG and SoR brethren. To our next match together and future fights!
