Oh look, a “colorful” attitude. Not sure if any real level of intelligent discussion will be reached here, but here’s to hoping.
Clipping
Fix it, but I’m mostly content.
Lag/Skill Lag
I experience nothing of the sort.
Class Balance
Anet is working on that. It’s not something that can be made real overnight. It takes time, a lot of time.
Diminishing Returns on CC Abilities
If multiple people are attacking a player, then that player should die, unless really skilled/prepared. No skills should be given or tweakings to the game that will allow a single player to escape multiple CCs consistently.
Orbs
Could use some tweakings, though not complete removal.
Taking the Jumping Puzzle and PvE content out of WvW
Subjective. I, for one, enjoy them. Keep them.
Braces for incoming slander, accusations, assumptions

It’s called using swiftness. =/ or teleports, or leaps, or whatever gets you from Point A to Point B quicker.
If I’m in for a big run, I’ll switch out some utilities or weapons and switch back before I reach my destination. There’s risk in doing so, but that’s the price of the added convenience. It sure won’t take me a whole 5mins to get to where ever I’m going.
Also try to run next to classes who tend to give out AoE swiftness, like mesmers and rangers.
And travel time is absolutely crucial and should not be reduced too much, if any.
Guardian
Death should carry weight. You should not think about dying not not care at all. Anet has already made the penalty so small most don’t think twice about it. Aggressive Play equals higher risks, but potentially higher gain. Those who have the ba…..guts to do it will , and those who don’t, won’t.
As I said above. One event completed will net enough gold for about one repair. If someone is gaming so bad that they cannot manage a single event between deaths, then they should be worrying about more. Death = penalty, and it will add up, thus it should be avoided. Anyone who ALT+F4 or logs right before death are cu….. idiots.
And someone mentioned that the repair costs are hardest on those who don’t zerg and I will politely disagree. I’m running alone almost all the time, and I net profit just from taking sentries and killing dolyaks. I help with supply camps, and less often than not, I’ll help defend a tower or keep.
Guardian
Completing one event covers one repair cost. If one cannot complete a single objective between deaths, then perhaps money isn’t the problem.
But looking at the relative skill of players, nude zergs are predicted to be all the rage.
Guardian
It’s annoying, but that’s about it. On to my next kill.

The jumping puzzles offer blueprints. Why on earth would another server just let you go in and grab them?
I’ll admit, I’ve camped a jumping puzzle with some guildies. Was great fun and ended with quite a finale as well. After killing the same few people a couple times, they apparently found some friends. A whole lot of friends. A zerg of around 20 players rushed through. We knocked most of them off, but a couple got through, and while fighting them, more got through.
WvW is open PvP. Sitting in a jumping puzzle is no different than hiding behind a hill near a supply camp and waiting for the enemy to try to cap it.
Different strokes for different folks.

Snowballing and you - Why the current WvWvW system only "lives" for 20 minutes
in WvW
Posted by: Gisei.5749
A lot of this “snow-balling” isn’t actually snow-balling. It’s just one server steam rolling another. A lot of the imbalance is due simply to Free Transfers screwing up the ranking system, causing weak servers and strong servers to match up. Once rankings are straightened out, and servers of relatively equal strength fight, a lot of this snow-balling will end.
As for the OP, I disagree with pretty much all of it. Too many buffs on the losing side and too many handicaps on the winning side is unfair to the winning side. It’ll be even more unfair if the winning server has actually earned their points. I say this from SF, a rather pathetic WvW server.
**A rather ~unrefined~ idea;
I would like to see more emphasis placed on the Home Borderland. I believe there should be more benefits to protecting it. After all, it is our home zone. As it is, there is nothing special about the borderlands. They are just another battleground.
An idea of mine would be a Morale buff, naming conventions are not my forte. If a server’s ownership of their Home Borderlands drops below a percentage, a debuff will be placed on all players, of that server, in enemy Borderlands. This debuff will strengthen as the percentile of ownership of the Home Borderland drops. At a point of loss, the debuff will grow to include players in the Eternal Battlegrounds
And on the contrary, any players fighting in their Home Borderlands will receive a buff for defending Home. This buff will strengthen as less of Home is owned.
This idea will concentrate the players of a weak server, as well as strengthening them. This will allow for a better WvW experience all around. It would also helping with the snow-balling effect. If players see their own Borderlands doing well, they will be encouraged to help out.
Of course, this is taking into account that the strength of the servers aren’t eons apart. If Server A is 10x as powerful as Server B, then Server B should be crushed. This should never happen though, once rankings are stable.

Asura
No buffs, just ran and jumped.
I’ve beaten it 32 times today. Will do more tomorrow. Why? Because it is fun, and watching the misery of others is delightful. And I plan to drown the world in candy corn.
Guardian
I’ll add my own support to this notion, and I’m being serious. It was challenging the first 15 times, but is pretty easy now.
Triple the length and speed up the ooze once we start ascending.
Guardian
I had a full stack of trick or treat bags from the puzzle. Now I havea few stacks of Candy Corn. Is it worth it? Not really. Though I would have continued running the puzzle even if the end chest gave nothing. It was, and still is, a very fun puzzle to run.
Guardian
Triple the length of the puzzle and buff it a bit. That should make it perfect.
(As an Asuran, I ran the puzzle just fine, many many times. When waiting on the clock to rotate twice before shattering at the top stairway, 4 out of 5 times, a Human or Asura would arrive to stand next to me. Very rarely was it a Charr, and I never saw a Norn make it.)
Guardian
I found it to be an immensely enjoyable jumping puzzle. Difficulty is just right to really challenge the average player. Not everyone will be able to do it, but there’s nothing wrong with that.
Perhaps make it instanced with a 8 man cap or so.
I personally experienced 0 problems. As an Asura, I was often times completely engulfed within a Charr or Norn, but I don’t actually have to see my character to know that he is still in the center of my screen. Anyways, I would just have to endure being blocked for just under 10secs. By then, whoever it was has fallen off or got left behind.
It is definitely a game of trial and error. Learning exactly how to jump, and how to start fast enough to stay ahead of the group makes it only mildly challenging.
But after 32 successes, I’m satisfied. Nerf it to silence the whiners(as if).
I’m really looking forward to more puzzles similar to this.
Guardian
Enjoyed it immensely, in and out in 15mins.
It doesn’t need a nerf, though it is too hard for the average gamer.
Guardian
Hhhmm.
I logged in and noticed pumpkins and candy. Based on the title in the client, I knew the Halloween event had started.
I port to LA and look at all the decor for a bit. LA is obviously the game’s Hub, so that’s the place to go. No Google needed. Noticed a huge cauldron instead of a Mystic Forge. Hopped on up and was turned into a toy spider. Based on my buff descriptions and the obvious chaos around me, there was a pvp mini-game going on. No Google needed. Oh, and pumpkin carving.
Pressed M, and noticed a huge pumpkin on my map that wasn’t normally there. No Google needed. Went there, talked to the NPC and started the “quest”. Mail dinged so I checked it. Got a piece of candy corn and some odd device. Read description. Based on description of item and the explanation from NPC, I use candy corn to power the device and look for specters. No Google Needed.
So since I was given a piece of candy corn, I was obviously suppose to use it. So I did, next to the rather large gathering of people. Not to mention a quick glance at chat will enlighten one. A ghost appeared. Talked to it. Got an item that was obviously clues to the next ghosts. No Google Needed.
Completed that event relatively easy. No Google Needed.
The only part of my adventure I had to ask for help on, was how to get more candy corn. A quick /map and I was good to go. Google a little needed, but the candy corn nodes are a little hard to miss.
There was, and is, nothing unintuitive about any of it. People….

Report and move on. Anet still has a plate full to work on. They’ll get around to it.
I’m sure they have enough bot reports to show that this is a problem. Another thread isn’t actually needed.
Guardian
Players need to understand that Anet has a long way to go before all the professions reach a point of relative balance, which is perfectly fine and normal. Balancing professions is an incredibly difficult task. A task which I couldn’t even begin to do. There are going to be countless changes made to each class, and then a few more. Some classes are going to be OP, and some are going to be weak. This is going to flip around a lot, and many players are going to feel like they are being screwed.
Rangers are getting the short end of the stick. State your case, argue your points, and quit making suggestions, unless you actually have a good one, which you won’t. One that you have tested with every possible build of the ranger with regards to every possible build of every other profession of any combination in every scenario, both PvE and PvP. Then perhaps, it’ll carry a little weight.
And please, quit asking for “Quick” changes or fixes. It doesn’t work like that. Anything “Quick” will just lead to a plethora of more problems. But that’ll likely leave other people unhappy rather than you, which is okay, right?
If the ranger is truly unplayable as it is, forum readers don’t need to hear about how you’re just going to re-roll. Just re-roll. The other professions are just as fantastic and deserve a play as well.
Guardian
I do the following during defending;
1) Run out portal and cast Wall of Reflection in front of the gate.
2) Shout “Save Yourselves” and beat on the Ram for about 6-7secs.
3) Cast Sanctuary and continue to beat on Ram for another 6secs.
4) Double roll through portal and switch to staff. Find a cluster of allies and use #4 skill.
5) Tickle enemies through the gate until I can repeat one of the previous steps.
I’ve started playing a ranger recently just for a change, and my Guardian definitely impacts a siege more. Get a couple Guardians doing the above and enemy Rams have no chance. Just pray someone took the initiative to have some sort of anti-catapult plan.
As for being on the offensive during a siege, all I can do is spam Staff #2, “Retreat”, and “Save Yourself” to bring in as much supply as I can. If running is boring me, I like to sit inside the portal with my finger on a knock back skill, just waiting for someone to pop out. I love few things more than my Hammer’s #4 skill.

Wow, that’s quite a bit of drama.
Anyways, I disagree with just about everything you said. The recent patch may have been for the worse, but stop making such a huge spectacle out of it. It’s gone from a bad nerf to questioning the entire company. It happens.
State your case. State it well. If you have an argument, you’ll be heard. If not, then you won’t. If it is truly a problem, others will rally, but don’t turn it into something it isn’t, just to tug on emotional strings.
And anyways, if you’re only using a GS, then you are suppose to have stale gameplay. You get 73 levels to master the weapon swap for a reason.
To be quite frank, I pray Anet avoids this sub-forum for a bit. The idiots are quite vocal at the moment, and the more rational discussion and suggestions are diluted by a tidal wave of stupidity.
Guardian
I just recently started playing WvW. I’m specced in Vit/Tough and use the Hammer and Mace/Shield. This was entirely built with PvE experience, so I didn’t have much faith in its effectiveness. My utilities are Signet of Something(reduce incoming damage), Save Yourselves, Sanctuary, and Renewed Focus.
I’ve mostly just ran around with some friends taking supply camps and the occasional tower. I play perfectly fine there, easily doing what I like to do. Mitigating damage. Standing in the middle of the enemies while my friends wreck them. As far as 1v1 goes, as rare as it is, I haven’t lost yet. I win maybe 3/5 of 1v2 fights. I only feel the need for range when fighting thieves and mesmers. They can engage or disengage my current build at will, and I can’t do anything about it.
More recently though, I’ve participated in a couple sieges, and have found by build to be utterly useless, on both attacking and defending. When attacking, I use my supply, throw out what few buffs that I do, and wait. Same with when I’m defending. This was very discouraging, at first…
I’m still mostly doing dungeons, and in regards to PvE, I’m satisfied with my build mostly, so I wasn’t willing to change up my build too much. As I am now, I can run out the gate into a 30+ zerg and survive 15secs with relative ease. If I stay about two dodges from the gate portal, I have no problem getting back into the keep, mostly alive.
Using the staff AoE, and a couple AoE utilities, I’m able to tag plenty of players in the zerg, so getting loot isn’t all that big of a problem. Personally, I’m satisfied with this masochistic role, but I can definitely see this not being everyone’s cup of tea, and a little profession patching may be necessary. I’ll eventually rebuild my Guardian for WvW, and I have faith that it’ll be enjoyable.
Guardian
Just for another general clarification, increasing 3% by 5% equals 3.15%, not 8%. Yeah, math.
Guardian
As a Guardian, I don’t use any range at all. I’ve only played around half of the Explorable Paths, but I almost always come out with the least number of deaths. Heck, even the least downs. I’ve only come across a few situations where it is best to just keep my distance.
It is not the class either. I’ve a thief contact who regularly runs with me, and he rarely goes range, and he rarely dies.

Both Win7 and the game were recently clean installed
All settings maxed. No super-sampling. FXAA on
I get 60fps everywhere. Dips to about 50 in the largest events in Orr. I haven’t played WvW yet though.
Occasionally, as in not always, I will dip to just below 40 when around a lot of torches. Mostly happens in LA, and doesn’t last long.
