Vociferous. That shall be my word of the day. I like it.
As for Warriors, I honestly don’t care if they are in my group or not. I won’t notice anything different if I take a Necro in its place.
Honestly, I see a lot more players looking for Guardians than Warriors.
Guardian
Yeah. I have never had a real problem with culling until the 28th.
On the bright side, my thief is invincible.
Guardian
I always miss the good fights….
And I have to agree that SF zergs can be pretty mindless. Sometimes we’ll have 3 commanders run west, and only 5 green dots follow them out of 40. Everyone else runs east.
And quit holding Pang Dx Our zerglets can’t comprehend failing at a Supply Camp. They run forward, and that’s about it.
Guardian
Everyday.
……
Guardian
They have to give everyone time to participate. A lot of people got left out of the Karka Event, and they said they wouldn’t want that to happen again.
Guardian
Sounds to me like a Warrior has to go quite a bit out of their way to obtain all these heals and mitigation. Something a Guardian gets just for being a Guardian.
But alas, I have no first hand experience with Warriors. I also have never experienced a Warrior that could come anywhere near close to victory in a battle of attrition with me.
As for Thieves, my Thief is far from “Glass Cannon”. Not a drop of Power, Precision, or Critical Damage here. Not a drop of Vitality either. All Apothecary, and it works wonders. I survive through stealth, a bunch of little 3-4s stealths that make all the difference.
Guardian
Honestly, I think looking at the Buy Orders are a better judge of the value of Dusk. It’s more stable.
Guardian
The health is what balances the professions, not unbalances them.
It’s pretty balanced in the end though. Guardians can reach levels of regen that a Warrior can never hope for. By the time a Guardian with 14k health is taken down, he’s probably burned through 30k+ hp. If my Guardian is in a crowd, my regen can exceed 3k a second, though I can’t maintain that for long.
Anyways, could you imagine a Guardian with nearly 30k health? Or how easy a Warrior with 14k would be?
Lowering the Guardian’s health allows Anet to justify making them so tough.
Guardian
Be wary of generalizing people. It creates a lot of unnecessary friction.
Just because 2 or 3 people, or even a handful, behave or play one way, doesn’t mean that every person around them does as well, or even approves of it.
Guardian
A lot of things are “possible”
Guardian
Snip
If this was true, the price wouldn’t be so high.
Guardian
I personally encourage any and all campers to camp harder, longer, and more aggressive.
When I see campers, I go all “Challenge Accepted” mode.
Guardian
It’s gonna be more funny than disastrous. I’m looking forward to it.
Guardian
Still pretty faceroll to me.
And yes, imps have always hurt like hell.
Guardian
Almost 1400hrs, and one key dropped since Launch. Got two in beta.
Guardian
You can’t just take high tier players and tactics down to a low tier server. You end up steamrolling every map and it ruins the fun for everyone.
The main reason that high tier servers are “high tier” is because they have more players willing to play WvW.
Guardian
Constructive criticism is good. It’s a sign you want the game to improve, and that you are willing to take time to help out.
Useless whining is bad. If only it wasn’t bad business etiquette to tell customers to “kitten off!”.
Guardian
I don’t even go for objectives anymore, except to lure blues and reds to me. I just kill as many as I can, ignoring all else. Too bad there are a lot fewer targets now than there were two weeks ago.
As for the JP, I occasionally go in and kill any hostiles, but I leave most people alone. Killing the average person in the JP is just easy and boring, so I don’t do it. Instead, I wait for the inevitable /m whine (it gets so old) about the puzzle being camped, and then go to find the campers. I normally find a group of 3 or 4, who I proceed to kill and dance upon until they port.
And to the poster above me, your guild puts up quite the fight. I always enjoy running into one of them.
Guardian
I have to agree that I experienced a lot more culling today than usual. Actually, I rarely ever experienced culling prior to the update, but now I’m seeing it in groups less than 30. Even in SM after reset, culling never really bothered me to the extent it is now is groups a 4th that size.
Guardian
1) The blue dot of a party member remaining on the map is not a new occurrence. It has been happening to my guild and me since launch. So most likely, it has nothing to do with the “bug”.
2) If you party with someone, you will be pushed back in the queue. For example, if I have a 2min wait ahead of me, and my friend has a 10min wait, then I will be bumped back if I party with them. I’m not sure if I get bumped to the 10min mark, or to the end of the queue along with my party mate.
I’ve also noticed friends getting in earlier than me if I zone. Doesn’t happen every time, but occasionally.
3) A LOT of players bailed from lower tier server prior to paid transfers going live.
Guardian
Had a 10min queue on SF today. Longest one I’ve sat in since Launch.
From the people I’ve talked to in our opposing servers, a lot of people have bailed for higher tier servers. It is becoming quite frequent that I message someone on my contacts just to find them on another server.
The score has also shown similar results, with us barely winning 3 weeks ago to us over doubling our opponents this week.
Guardian
I read his posts on this forum. It doesn’t sound like he inferred that at all.
Remember that Sell orders != supply and buy order != demand
“!=” means “not equal to”
Guardian
Well, if that is what you want to do, then more power to you.
I on the other hand, will participate and enjoy the content.
Guardian
Except there’s no need to because we only ever get 5 utility and we have like 25 of them. Utility slot is precious – we know that without the signet. The handicap/sacrifice is completely unnecessary, and gaining 1 more skill that isn’t essentially useless in combat – save for the 5 sec blind if you call that useful – can also give player more rotation possibilities.
SoS is not a special case. Every single skill you equip is at the cost of another skill. SoS is no different. I personally have 6 skills, not healing or Elite, that I want to have equipped, and SoS is not one of them. I have to pick my skills at the cost of all the others I want.
SoS is nice to have, but it is far from necessary. Do you want speed, or a teleport? A teleport or a pull? A pull or a stealth? A stealth or something more offensive?
Guardian
I’ve been playing on my Thief a lot lately, and I only use the Signet of Shadows to run long distances. When a fight is about to happen, I switch it out for whatever the situation calls for.
But on most occasions, I don’t have it equipped and that is perfectly fine for me. Only D/D Eles, Thieves, and the occasional Warrior can get away from me, but only seldom.
If I get caught in combat with SoS active, then it’s no biggie. I only equip escape and mobility Utilities, so I just have one less cooldown to manage.
Guardian
I’d kill for that tonic, just saying
Guardian
I’m interested in the Mystic Binding Agents. If those turn out to be worthless, I’m just going to save my Laurels and get nothing.
Guardian
I can answer that as soon as the mystery behind Mystic Binding Agents is solved. Other than those, I have very little interest in anything else.
Guardian
And every 5 man zerg slayer I’ve been a part of doesn’t use AoEs, but we focus one guy down at a time, with one of us assigned to reserving skills for spiking.
And to note, without the 5 player cap, a handful of Staff Eles would make a choke point a living hell, regardless of how many they are up against. Getting into the Lord’s Room in SM during peak times is already a mess, even with the limit.
Guardian
Going on 1400hrs and not bored yet. As long as my Guild is on, I could do AC or Fractals a hundred times over and not be bored.
In the meantime, I’m working toward getting a Twilight. Actually, I’ve pretty much finished except for one piece, and it’s obvious which one that is.
Guardian
Don’t forget the 30% Coin Booster available for 1 Laurel.
Guardian
Technically, you can get a Laurel in WvW, Dungeons, or the Open World, so I think they learned their lesson just fine.
Guardian
I don’t understand why someone would join a high level Fractal without AR. To those of you who are having this issue, are you specifying a minimal AR when LFG? And people with less are still joining?
If so, then I see this as an issue.
If no AR is specified upon recruiting, then perhaps one should try that.
Then there is always the option of joining a few large guilds and using them to find groups.
Guardian
I truly hate it. I think it is a vile skin, and I wouldn’t take it if someone offered it to me for free.
But I know there are some people who soiled themselves with excitement when they saw it. More power to them.
Guardian
I went into WvW. Found our zerg. Dove head first into the enemy zerg. Once I had their attention, I dodged twice and completed it instantly.
Guardian
I mined that rich node hundreds of times. I never got less than 14. Not once.
Guardian
Just spent 45mins in Orr. Quit when my inventory was full. Ended up with 29 moldy bags, around 8 T6 mats, about 30 T5 mats, neither from bags. Got a Vile Essence, woo. Then made about 60 silver from selling a dye and all the whites, blues, and greens I had.
Guardian
I recently sold a stack of items at a price that already had 130 items being sold. None of mine sold until those 130 sold.
Guardian
Depends on efficiency of farming.
Guardian
I complained about it back in beta =/
Guardian
I just want to throw this in the mix, but when it came to the Dailies, I literally did a fractal run and had 90% of it done by the end. As for them becoming more difficult I don’t see how.
So many people can’t grasp this. It’s like they want to do their dailies separately from their normal play.
Guardian
I love that they came out and said it was a poor maneuver to roll out ascended gear and make them only attainable one way. “Hey I know! Next patch let’s make ascended necklaces only attainable one way…”
Really? Take another look. Rings and Amulets are now available through WvW, any Dungeon, and the Open World. It’s a decent move, and with a little thought, and less time mocking them, you would come to that understanding as well.
Guardian
Would an omnomberry bar, the booster, and 4 infusions stack?
Guardian
This is obviously an oversight made my Arenanet that effects a vast number of players, including myself. Let’s just make our concerns heard, in a reasonable manner, and I’m sure this will get sorted in the coming months.
Guardian
Making them available through dailies means that Ascended gear is now available to the open world crowd, the dungeon crowd, and the WvW crowd. It is a step in the right direction at least.
Guardian
Not reading the thread, but players have had FAR more than enough time to find some WvW they enjoy. If they missed the gracious opportunity, Tough.
As for new players, I hope they get a single Free Transfer, or a set amount of time for Free Transfers.
Guardian
Anet has stated that they do not want to change professions drastically, but to change them slowly over time. This way, players won’t feel so hurt when their build gest nerfed, as it will only be small.
Not to mention January is the smallest of the upcoming patches.
Guardian
I disagree mostly.
1) Kicking people was a problem beforehand. Kicking players has been a problem in every dungeon. Thsi has nothing to do with the patch. My advice, don’t run with kitten.
2) What stopped them from doing this before? Also, #1 solves this problem easily.
3) Why does it bother you that someone can get something easier? Does it make you feel less special? Less rewarded? Are you envious? Just some food for thought, if someone get’s the rings through Dailies, and you get the Amulet, then you are 2 months ahead of them, regardless of what they do. Is that special enough?
4) The point of Fractals is to farm Fractal skins, and to enjoy challenging PvE content. Anet made the mistake of making them the only source of Ascended gear. This has been partially rectified with the patch.
5) Do you keep up with the forums? People were crying all the time about having to gather. Complaints were far from uncommon.
6) Why do you feel punished for missing a daily now? Is it because someone else might get the Amulet before you? Just to note, Daily is still mostly doable without going out of the way of your normal routine. If you want a reward, a Laurel, be ready to at least put in a little effort. They are not just going to give you it for free, though that is basically what they are doing.
7) The combo thing was a bug. It’ll be fixed and the pain will be gone. Dodging will naturally accumulate as you play the game, assuming you have the skill that the average lv20 possesses. There is no need to find a mob and dodge it for 10mins. Actually, that’s just ridiculous.
8) I spent 2hrs in Orr. I saw none of this. In any kind of group, the combo achievement will be met within minutes. The only reason it was difficult today was because it was broken.
9) All professions need to dodge at one point or another. If you manage to avoid aggro entirely within a dungeon, then you are a 1500 range Ranger dealing pathetic damage. The crafting literately required 30 seconds. Refining 20 10c mats must have been exhausting. Refer to the end of #6.

Not to mention that the exact system implemented has been known to be coming since before pre-purchase became available last April.
