Yes we are more of a casual guild as we all understand that people do have other things in their lives.

At the moment we are mainly based around TC, GH and AG. Hope that changes though .

We love for you and others to come aboard if you want , and welcome you with open arms!

Oh cool mumble is pretty good. I mainly use TS3 due to talking with ny bro. May also want to check out that too? If this goes over 50 people we may have a problem!

Also try your best just to make some friends it makes the experience lots better
The great thing is you can move to other zones. E.g Charr, Norn, Asura places if you get bored of being near your own race zone.

The hearts are your typical short quests. However the adventure is whatever you want it to be.
I for one quite like the old school storyline quests and wish they could have included some more instead of just the personal story but hey can’t have it all.

Now stop being awesome and talking this idiot and get playing!

I see I can sympathise. I too have a LOT of classes and was kind of reluctant to gethe game but I am quite glad I did.

Just try all the you like classes out till say lvl 10/15? In that time you normally get a feel for if you like that class or not.

As always enjoy it and be kind to others!

Healing and tanking… I know!

Why not try a Guardian?
It has awesome support spells that can protect and heal allies. It can also mitigate A LOT of damage if used well.

However please note Guardians have a very low health pool (I believe one of the lowest)
But don’t be put of by that!

It has A LOT of skills to avoid taking any damage. Very survival class despite the low health pool.

In my opinion it is an awesome class and 1 people always look out for when trying to get a dungeon group. A well played Guardian is a boss.

Don’t worry Commander most of us ain’t like that.
As Lexy pointed out just try everything out!

Also to add onto Lexy’s great advice. Don’t worry about trying to level a character really fast. Just enjoy what’s in front of you. Take time in the world. You’ll be 80 before you know it anyway.

Try Gunnars Hold! I’m on Aurora Glade myself but GH has really nice people. I can set you up with awesome others if you move there too.
Pretty much everyone on GH is willing to help anyone and everyone. AG is good but slightly more serious than GH but still has a good community that helps you.

There on fairly regularly why not go to GH?

Hey Guns , first and foremost GET OUT AND TRY IT!

Don’t be afraid and go for it! ::)
Sure you might find it difficult at first but it’s great fun once you know how. I advise you the dungeons are not really like anything in PvE.

Here’s a few tips:

1. Awareness is key
I’m not saying you have to study every enemies cues etc. (That comes with time) Just that you need some awareness of what is going on. Seeing someone downed and getting to them if possible is really great teamwork and the more folks you have fighting the better.

2. Learn class combos
This is so that you can understand the OTHER people’s skills. It also buffs and does more damage so if someone pops a combo field down, finish it!

3. Study what your skills do
I’m not saying crank out the maths. Just read the description so you know what your skills do. This is so you understand when to apply/activate the skills in a certain situation.

4. Determination
You may find your future experiences become frustrating but you just can’t give up! This is especially true if ALL members are ACTUALLY TRYING. Giving up on people is not nice. >:L

Okay it seems confirmed:

Good communication pretty much = Winning dungeon

Did an AC Explore P3 run with a bunch of nice folks. 1 was under-leveled but still completed it. We talked and discussed where we just fell short. Communication made it a whole lot more enjoyable! First time in a long one where I wasn’t banging my head against a brick wall.

So looks like faith in dungeon runners has been restored!

So this evening I went to have a cheeky little peak at how everyone was doing. I opened up the tab… and BAM! I didn’t realise how many people there are!

It’s pretty interesting as when I last checked it was only in the teens.

So my question: Where did all the awesome others come from??!!

Hmmm… I haven’t jumped into wvw yet. I haven’t looked at the goodies yet and it’s just not high on my list of interest. Pvp I really enjoy so maybe later.

Hey Candlelight. There are some great replies here so I won’t expand on them. I encourage you to try out a dungeon! Even if you aren’t quite the recommended level. It’s mainly about awareness in dungeons anyway.

If you are discouraged to try AC at around lvl 30 DON’T BE!
I completed my first AC dungeon at lvl 28. Sure it might be harder but it teaches you about awareness and how important it is.

Just find some nice people and tell them you’re new at this, more likely then not you’ve got others giving tips and advice.

If you’re on an EU server send me a whisper and I’ll be more than glad to help out! However I’m mainly on Fridays and Weekends. :P

It’s really fun! I’ve met a really great bunch of people which I would have never met if it wasn’t for Union.

Okay Lamefox hope Gunnar’s will be good to you. You got the greats on that server.

Laszlo yeah, I’ve been trying to get a more diverse group of people, so far it’s concentrated to GH, TC and AG. However why not sign anyway? I’m sure we can get some people on Riverside in time, or maybe you can change that?

In the meantime you get to talk to really cool people while you wait.
It doesn’t hurt to sign up, nothing to loose and everything to gain.

Hi there Eridani, unfortunately there is no such way. There is a possibility it maybe added.

However from what I have been told it can compromise account security if an account is logged in indefinitely. (When browser is closed and you are not using the account)

I do not mind in general but do think that when you log in you shouldn’t be re-directed back to the site.

Don’t worry, just taking an interest is great!
Just a little advice, just take your time and dip your toes in the water! All the people in Union are genuinely great!

We should organise some AC dungeon event. :P
I know my way around that the most, bit of CM. Nothing about the others, XD

Note: For explore dungeons there are 3 paths for all dungeons. To get maximum returns on tokens and rewards you would ideally would want to run each path if doing multiple runs.

There is a 24hr cycle. If you complete a certain dungeon say AC Path 1 twice in that 24hr cycle then you get hit with the ‘diminishing returns’ where you get a reduced reward that decreases with every completed run after the first completion of a specific path.

It’ll be good to get something together so we can all see everyone at once.

It was more of a discussion point than an actual whine. It was something that I wanted to ‘share’? so I could learn from this and better myself.

You’ve all given me some great advice. I know sometimes those dungeon runs are more of a test of patience

It seems that the experience has made me think about communication, discussion and learning more.

To make a better community, communication seems vital. The bad experiences all seemed to boil down to the lack of communication (and ego, but we can’t do anything about that. :P).

Some of the best experiences I had was because of the communication b/w the party. The rules of engagement were discussed beforehand. The communication was what made the group strong and to me made a sense of forming a bond and it was reflected in the other members.

On the flip side. A lack of communication b/w all members leads to a really frustrating time and eventually leads to ruin.

So I think communication should be something to be considered b/w our community. Communication is what makes us stronger and I know everyone in Union that I see active are having a great time talking to everyone else. It’s great to see the chat filled with chat and banter…

Yea it was really cool you finally managed it get in akamon

It just seemed like I hit the brickwall people all at once. That’s what was happening over the past few weeks. It’s just it really grinds gears when players say they’ve done it before when they clearly have not. It’s like why not just say instead of inflating your non existent ego to me.

Maybe I’ll try again next week or take a little rest out. Union’s in really good hands without me.

That’s certainly some great advice. Always the levelled headed one Lexy.

I don’t know, before I could always do both at the same time and it was great. When we didn’t succeed we ALL discussed it and why. It was a great experience learning to bond as a team even if the party split after the run.

This was in fact how the idea began. Helping others for a chance to access some content and see some cool stuff. Helping others with dungeons was how I even began to formulate this idea. I managed to teach the values of communication and teamwork to work with others and not just for yourself. Then sometimes I’d get some feedback about the good folks going to help others in the same thing.

Maybe that was before and this is now accepting that AG is just different.
I always understood that the dream was going to take a while. I see all the great people in Union and it really does make me smile.

Just that dungeons AND helping was something I always did. In games always trying to help those having a harder time so they too got to see the content and the cool stuff.

This just made me rethink. It’s good you never gave me the shoulder, I just want my experiences to be discussed and how I can do better. Like everyone else we’re all still learning and this is a time to discuss and learn from these sort of situations and how to be better because of them.

Sorry to come across as a whiny kid. I really do see this as a great start and I will always will be grateful because of people like you.

It seems this game is making me loose my motivation to help everyone, create a better community, help with dungeons, and I’m even losing enthusiasm towards Op: UNION… I’m afraid to say it but I’m becoming SELFISH and questioning now why should I go out of my way to help now… I’m not becoming the Glitch on the forums/in game willing to lend a hand. I’m losing…

Date: 21/10/12

So I logged on. Had a really nice talk with the awesome Union family. Thought to myself: Hey bri was right it was probably a one off…

.. It started off really good. I helped a group of 4 life friends in AC Story. We chatted about ourselves and Op: UNION . They ended up adding me if they ever wanted a 5th.

Then me and my bro Snowhound went to do AC Explore Path 2. It was 2 ‘experienced’ and 1 new person. Me and bro run a War/Guard with some really really good teamwork now.

So… The Spider Queen was shambles. Even with advice about con removal and the turrets. So we thought we’re gonna have to try-hard.

We got to Kohler and told about pull spotting and usual. It wasn’t so good. It was me and Hound tag teaming Kohler while the others were downed or spawning. Even with my Warbanner reviving every cooldown and Hound’s aegis etc. So eventually it kind went alright and got past that.

They trap part was okay after one experienced started the event without any communication etc. Got obliterated, 2nd did it under my leadership.

Then the last little bit… We NEVER got past it. It took 6 Detha revives to get the explosive turret up. We got smashed running with our tail b/w our legs. Me and Hound gave out a kill order not saying it unreasonably etc. So apparently it was agreed. Then they all just ran in the fray jumping the gun. The ‘experienced’ were switching targets an not focusing fire. It was me and Hound while the 3 sat at the entrance an watched…

Eventually me and Hound just gave up and looked after ourselves. I TURNED MY BACK ON MY OWN CODE that day! I looked after me and my brother, we looked after each other.

It has been on of my most disheartening and frustrating dungeon failure ever. The lack of communication b/w members. The lack of compliance. I didn’t even elect myself as leaders unless others want it. However under my leadership scenarios flourished and were completed very well. However they just stopped listening or heeding advice etc. Thinking they knew best. I didn’t claim to be any good just advising and discuss the plans before executing.
The experienced then thought their one way was the best and only way… Then began the headbutting and yellow streaming waste match. It wasn’t even a discussion. We let em be. With me and Hound sticking together

It as so disheartening after yesterday. After quite frequent experiences like this. I have questioned is this what the community is like? Then really don’t want to be a part of it.

But I KNOW this is not always the case. Just look at the Union family for an example. It really felt if there is no communication why bother? I don’t understand there was a time where I’d just help someone without thinking twice.

I really want to find some more people like the awesome people like those in Union. To make the Project bigger than something spun by my simple curiosity and generosity. Operation: Union is/was something I wanted to flourish and become recognised in GW2 eventually. Recognised and praised because of the kindness of others.

Now I am discouraged to establish the Operation. I question should I even bother with this anymore? I really did want this to eventually become recognised.

Not the community Pro teams were spouting off. Where the community is UNDER THEIR LEADERSHIP.

I wanted this to really be about others
.. Something bigger than ourselves.

This past few weeks has been a heavy hitter to me. I will try to carry on determined with the others to make this project succeed. I just hope I have more of this in me…

Hey all you viewers. I still see some of you viewing so I thought I’ll blog.

Date: 20/10/12

This evening I was spreading the support of Pink Day! Got quite a few people to join in, so pretty proud there!

However I was running around in Aurora Glade trying to help some people in the starter zones. But it seemed like no one was talkative today. No one I tried talking bothered responding and just tried to run away from me. I tried really hard to talk to people running alongside giving speed buffs.

Usually when I did this on Northern Shiverpeaks everyone was really appreciative. It seems to me AG is more of serious server where it seems sometimes people just want to rush from A to B.

So then I decided to do AC as usual. It was okay but it seemed most of the time the communication was lacking. I managed to finally find 2 nice parties.

Maybe it’s just me but it seems on AG only a few folks have time to just talk.

Also on a saddening note it seems I’ve lost my more selfless streak. I tried helping some folks on AC story but they did not want to listen after an hour I decided to just break and come back. I kind of feel bad about leaving and normally I’d try to make an effort but it seemed I have a shorter fuse now…

Is it just a bad day or will this be continuing? I really hope it was a one off.

Hey buddy. Glad you pick Gw2 up!
Classes.
A Warrior is your straight up easy to pick up class but on further look has a very interesting development.

Mesmer is pretty cool too if you like a trickster type class. Very cool and interesting. Using illusions to distract and confuse the enemy. Especially a good Mesmer in pvp.

Ranger is quite nice but to me seems like your typical long range dps with pet.

Thief is very versatile using initiative instead of cooldowns. I also feel it’s a trickster class. Very cool stealthing in and out of combat hitting then disappearing.

Elementalist is your typical mage but out can mix it up to go more close range/melee.

This may not be the best help but I try.

Just try them all out that’s what I did. Currently rocking a War, Thief and Guard.

Also note to learn what your skills do exactly like others have already pointed out. Just taking some time out to read the description help a lot.

You say you’re playing a Guardian? They’ve got some awesome skills. Skills and virtues are really awesome. You got a lot of boons like protection an retaliation. I recommend reading up on boons and combos.

Also may I ask what sever you’re on? Maybe I can get some people to help you out.

Azurite It’s find, just represent when your doing things with other fellow members. Aside from that I don’t really mind.
