^ Just be careful with a ranger. From my experience the lack of condition removal can hurt you pretty easily, most mobs can inflict a lot of conditions in a quick burst.

However ranger can still be played effectively, but so can all classes. It’s all about the person and mindset when you do dungeons. It is possible to do dungeons (even explore) with no armour whilst in melee. Survival is mainly about when to pop the skills and how you can work and synergise with the rest of the team.

We still frequently rock the pink when we’re out tolling poor souls.

I advise that you join a world with a good community and player attitude before WvW.
From my experience most WvW contains DB’s and ego hunters.

I found your server maybe kicking butt in the World rankings but if the community sucks you don’t feel like playing the game in general.

Hey Bubba. As with any game I’m sure you’ll know that starting a guild is a lot of work.

Personally I give freedom to my members. Many folks have different guilds for a multitude of reasons. Can I ask, did you come in the mindset of members must madatory represent? If so that can also turn away a lot of folks and limit your pool of players.

Also it’s easier if you have any RL friends with you to increase the appeal as they see more folks repping . In general getting your first 50 members is difficult, however those that stick by you are great allies. Talking and communicating with any and all members when they first join is vital otherwise they feel neglected and leave or not rep.

Don’t give up! If it’s something you want to do, do it! Try again but you have to form a pretty tight knit and with your first ‘set’ of members.

As for being guild leader in another guild it is possible you just won’t have the same title but can be given access to the same things as the leader.

^ Just a last note. It’s easier to tell them it’s your first run so folks can help you. If doing story it ain’t so bad just need some teamwork in one of the boss fights.

So when guesting is up are we going to have a load of mini asuras running around?

Hmmm… That’s strange. I assume you know that if you run different paths you are rewarded the full reward.

E.g if you ran P1,2,3 for the FIRST time during the time period
Reward: 3×60 tokens, full 60 tokens for each path.

If the same path is ran twice or more in the same time period you should be hit with DR.
Maybe it still needs sorting out. I have always been hit with DR in the expected manner so can’t comment on that.

^ I agree with Gilosean. Dungeons are all about teamwork, I assure you everything in dungeons are all teamwork and making sure you have your class well learned so you can adapt to all sort of situations that dungeons may present.

It is possible to do a dungeon without armour as long as the teamwork is good, it isn’t so much about gear as to a well.learned profession and teamwork.

I do this to prove a point to some members that don’t believe me. Don’t let dungeons intimidate you no matter what people say.

It is bound to account.

E.g

If you ran AC Ex P1 on character A.
Switch to character B and run P1 again you will be hit with DR.

You will not get the full 60 tokens on both characters.

Please bear with me Helequin. I promise the brilliant efforts won’t go wasted. Got to put a side note to implement them. Then we got to adjust members depending on the new organisation.

If so what channel is Asuran Army on?

To me the personal stories are more helpful pointers of suggestive things to do in the area.

Have you explored the surrounding area where the story is located?
There are points such as Hearts acting as your traditional ‘x do y’ quests.
Points of interest and vistas are also things you can explore.
There are also hidden things such as jumping puzzles or Easter eggs.

I suggest if you are looking for a little guidance:

Travel to your personal story location. Explore the surrounding area first then do the story. If you are underleveled you can also explore different race zones that are equivalent to your level.

Bit wishy washy as I am addicted to dungeons.

Dungeons work cross serving providing region is the same EU/EU , NA/NA.
Personal stories I am.not so sure about. I think it works the same as I have done it but might be due to the overflow server.

Dungeons definitely work.
Cross server guilds do work as I am in one. All members regardless of region/server are able to use the single guild chat. Operation: Union’s Legion of Honour is a cross server guild so proves it can work.

Okay I see. In Union if you want to pair up with people just ask in Guild Chat. If you do want a more reliable buddy system look for something like MARA. Just ask in Union, everybody’s up for the regular dungeon run doing what we can together atm.

Until the Guesting system is up those who’d like to help can’t atm. Ask members like Lexy in Union as she enjoys map exploration. Atm we normally have dungeon events on weekends. Just ask if you want to join in, the Gunnar’s atm are running dungeons.

In Union we really don’t mind if you don’t represent all the time. Just drop in whenever you feel like.

So feel free to find a group to complete a less lonely map completion. When Guesting is up Union will try to make you less lonely!

I try to be everywhere at once but I REALLY DO NEED my Team:Awesome to lend a hand. As much as I would like to be in game 24/7 certain things like college get in the way… A LOT.

@Kit, no I actually can’t believe that it’s become like this. In the beginning I thought it would just end up a tiny little thing where people would get bored and leave. Now I’ve met lots of amazing people like you! Now this thing is picking up a lot these past few months, it’s really awesome!

Deffy’s already tried are corner. You’re welcome to try again as we have a large influx of awesome everyday.

We have quite a few Gunnar’s but most of our EU pop are on late evenings. If you’re looking for a social, chatty and family type atmosphere try Union again. If you’re looking for a buddy system it is more suited towards you.

If you are looking for VERY active gaming with others on your server you are better off with the likes of MARA or a guild exclusively on GH. If that is the case Union is not for you.

@Alpha Union is a good place to meet some awesome folks. Guesting is not out yet so we can’t mobilize fully. However there maybe some folks on you’re server but there are a lot on both EU and NA sides.

I recommend reading the stickys first. I recommend not to read my thread unless you have 1 years supplies and a sherpa. There’s over 700 posts. XD

When you feel ready just drop in there, any troubles just ask anybody on that thread.

Yea this was a fear that I was having ever since launch. Due to the split of the community for FoTM however there are many of the steadfast GW1 that didn’t like the change and left.

Why not check out Operation: Union over at players helping players?
It’s a massive thread full of many players from a lot of different servers. Those there are more than willing to help you!

There are a lot there that are lvl80 or near it. But more than willing to assist you in the low areas, we’re just folks that look for some good company.

I’ve run AC story/explore over a few hundred times, do I get bored?
NO!
Just because it’s worth it seeing someone complete their first dungeon for the first time.

I’ve been running the dungeon since 27 till 80 so I still need to explore the world.

Looking for some good people Union is the place.

Also to add. Warrior can dish out very high burst/spike dmg. Guardian is more steady damage as it provides boon support in more melee range.

If you like seeing big numbers, nice leeway for mistakes = War
If you like team support while still being in the midst of battle = Guard

Personally I enjoy both professions. I really enjoy melee combat and smashing things in the face both professions bring a nice but different spin on how I approach melee.

^ If you want to do that easier to form/join a guild for that stuff. Most folks that PUG AC are the ones with less experience or starting their first explore.
Sorry got nothing against you, I just think Elitist + whatnot = Bad in general.

I wouldn’t like it happening to me and so wouldn’t like it happening to others.

I can help you a lot if you’re going to Gunnar’s. Aurora depends we have quite a few folks there but mainly Fri to Sun game time

I can help you if you’re on an EU server.
I don’t mind people that are sub par along as they’re willing to learn and have good teamwork skills. You just got to be prepared to work a bit more.

I’ve been running since lvl 27 all the way to 80 by only running dungeons.

Lvl 30 U would say adds to character play. To me it’s the point where I can actually begin to understand how all the skills fit and interact with each other, also the point where I learn how to play my class effectively.

However 30 adds dungeons to the mix! This adds to a different type of pve play. This requires a very different mindset that takes a little while to adjust. Though when you get it down with a good group is very rewarding I find.

As for your main… Which one do you play on longest?
Play the one you enjoy most or find most interesting. Don’t go for one class just because you can roll through all the higher end content.

In my eyes you don’t really have to have a main. Why not play them all?

If you’re tired of gaming alone why not check out Operation: Union?
It’s a social place with lots of folks on different servers. Both NA and EU sides are running dungeons more regularly now.

Helequin you’ve done a fantastic job with ranks and is a very good idea. Appointing you with helping us organise this thing. Do you accept?

Cross server works with particular instances like dungeons and personal stories.
I know personally as Unionmembers from different servers run dungeons all the time.

This however is restricted to regions. E.g EU/EU or NA/NA.

Thanks everyone. However I think WvW grouping does not really have to be integrated heavily as guesting does not allow for WvW participation when it will be integrated.

I personally think that WvW gathering can be sorted by the members that share an interest. However this is my personal view, if anybody thinks otherwise I will still happily include such option.

I will organise more Roman-esque ranks but I would like to keep the Founder and Tribune rank as they are, if I may.

Founders: These members have been there by me since the beginning, before the initation of Operation: Union. Those that stay have become individuals that I wouldn’t trade for the world.

Tribune: These members are exceptional individuals who have taken a very serious interest in Operation: Union, they have been a great assest and even greater friends.

You may not know it but I could’ve given up and left this thing behind when I hit a few obstacles. Those, and they know who they are have support me through all this. None of this would have happened if it weren’t for them.

However I do have to thank all of you that have taken an interest and to those that have taken up the Legion in their signature. I can’t thank you lot enough as you are the ones that make it possible.

I am still open to ranking suggestions. All rankings not mentioned will change according to what the public wants.

The site is slowly being built and welcome all the contributions and ideas so far. I hope when the site is completed it will be something everyone will enjoy. I will try to incorporate all suggestions to be able to cope with all interests as we are a very very diverse group.

You can play the TP: Requires careful watching and requires capital to produce larger sums of profit.

Dungeons: As said you can earn a lot, if rewarded with rares can salvage for ectos. Requires competent group.

Farming higher tiered mats/Orr: Boring but reliable, but boring.

Save: If you save and don’t spend much money it builds up quickly. Just use what you get from drops. Don’t bother with looks till 80.

Meh, I used to think I had to get lots of money. This ain’t like other games where you really don’t need that much money to progress to the next stage. Barring the choice to start a legendary etc.

Just enjoy the game. Anything else is a bonus.
