This part has to be wrong, right?
3.4 – Shatter Cat Mist
…
MH Sword for leap and immunity
OH Focus for pulls, speed and condition clensing.
Staff core of the build,
I don’t recall the focus having any function to remove conditions nor does the traits used in the build have anything related to affecting the focus.
No need to ask anymore, simply just look at this site for open temples: http://gw2events.ryanfield.ca/

My party got up to the end boss but they never appeared, we never triggered the cutscene but we saw the text of them chatting in the chat logs.
Possible reasons for bug;
Our dungeon creator was having random disconnections through the Molten Factory (something on his end), we played without him as he ended up offline. We got to the end boss and no bosses appeared. So I’m assume that dungeon instance creator was needed to be there to trigger the boss cutscene.
I had all of the items listed above with my counter stuck at 6/7. I also bought the candle and did not pick up the free one in the shop in zone 2.
I took an alt through and picked up the free candle, and this gave me my achievement.
Edit: found it, it’s the last shop. I entered the shop on an alt and it triggered the 6/7 to become 7/7.
Now I have the ‘Jumping’ title! Hooorah!
(edited by Groonz.7825)
Same happened, 2 dailies triggered at same time while I was on 4/5. I hope we get our laurels that were horrendously denied from this bug. As if it were made worse due to laurels being a necessity to get some ascended gear. Each one counts…
Although to be honest, I don’t have much faith in this being resolved where we get that missing laurel.
It’ll be interesting how you will do this, considering that there are some people who exploited a method to gain insane amount of achievement points at the cost of nothing (only time spent repeating same actions, not referring to the salvaging achievement).
Hope those people won’t gain immense amount of crowns due to said exploit.
Sometimes I’ve found ‘Deceptive Evasion’ (create clone on dodge) to be bugged sometimes, I’m not sure how it happens, maybe I get downed during dodges or something.
But after whatever happens my dodges no longer create clones in combat. Even if I try swapping out the trait out of combat and and reslotting it in a new fight. (usually happens in dungeons, but once I leave the dungeon, it resets and it’s back to normal). It’s very annoying considering my build revolves around making clones through dodging.
Just recently tried to join a group in Lion’s Arch for a party. Not entirely sure how it occured or what caused it.
- I joined their party group in Black Citadel.
- Went through the portal to Lion’s Arch
- I kind of was in the same overflow. I could see their markers on the minimap and saw them move to different locations.
Failed attempts to resolve it;
- I tried change characters to see if it was just my single character being affected. Different characters, same issues.
- Quitting the client and relaunching it.
I was even told by my party members that I was not on the same instance (my face icon for the party was not shown, nor was theirs even though I was in the same overflow).
The attached screenshot shows somewhat a better idea of what is happening, mind that I didn’t position it well but nevertheless there was no one in that area.
Armor sizing issues
There is a sizing difference between two of the same armor skins. The PvP is sized correctly while the PvE version is slightly smaller
The items are known as in;
PvP ‘Guild Boots’
PvE ‘Banded’ boots
Highlighted in image provided.
Character: Norn female (although I doubt it is the hero model issue)
The best way to do this is
1. Pick scout
2. Find the enemy carrier
3. Run ahead of them in a distance
4. Charge up your #4 skill and if you did it right, he should most likely be running around your area when you are fully charged.
5. POW, you’ve hit him for like 90% of his health from a single charged attack, now just finish him off.
Thats the best way, as others tend to take too long and the carrier can drop it on his own or someone else interferes.
This makes me laugh, even HARDER than the clockwork? this is actually easier. Others who couldn’t complete the halloween jumping puzzle have said and managed to complete the wintersday jumping puzzle after a few attempts.
How can this one be harder? the clockwork jumping puzzle was more hectic and faster. The wintersday one follows a similiar concept but at a slower pace.
Just saw it now too, was about to post about it here is a pic http://i.imgur.com/sDKuO.jpg
Yea… when you do screenshots for this, you really should put on max settings. Even if your system can’t handle it and you are getting 1 frames per second, it doesn’t matter, at least it will be a decent single frame picture.
So I had preplanned my armor set from the PVP locker a long while ago: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A4RQCkhCAAAlGaT.jpg
All looks fine and all, it’s only until recently I noticed that something is wrong when doing it from the PvE side of things. Although there is no ‘Guild Boots’ like in the guild armorsmith. The same skin is used for the ‘Banded’ set you usually find on high level rares.
Except there is one thing weird with them. They are actually smaller than the PVP version.
PVP version: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A4RQCkhCAAAlGaT.jpg
PvE small version: http://i.imgur.com/6QWbz.png
You can see the difference in that you can see the knees. Flipping between the images you’ll be able to tell it was the boots that have been shrunken for some reason, even though they are the same skin.
I wonder if Anet will increase them to match the PvP version…
The voice acting is just so dreadfully dull and boring, I’m pretty sure that is the general consensus on this topic.
Only recently, have I played on another character and came across an NPC that actually felt like they had personality.
Tybalt. He actually sounds good and you can feel that the voice actor is putting in the personality behind it. And this is me only finding out about him after 400hours played and only because I choose the Order of Whispers on an alt.
Feels like the voice actors have no soul or are simply bad at their jobs.
The only good voice actors are the obvious ones people will instantly recognize due to their experience e.g. Rytlock – Steve Blum many anime roles and what not, The vigil Warmaster – the colonel from Metal Gear Solid.
The random NPC during cutscenes and dialogue are just to painful to even listen to. I’m simply left with turnign down the volume on GW2 so I can listen to other things instead.
Sometimes I wonder, how did these things not get noticed in QA. Did you guys not have regular players test it out and give you input? Or were you simply just pushed for time and money and just went with random joes for your voice actors.
Hey, ANet, what are you doing exactly?
First, you say that …
I think we have already seen how things have gone. Things they have said in the past didn’t hold out on release. Dye account bound, etc.
Anyway, time to scrap getting exotic armors and skip right to ‘ascended’ armor.
Me from GWG2forumPeople need to understand that as you get more powerful you have a huge advantage in lower level areas. Where you can plow through monsters. But people constantly complain about the loot scaling, if the loot scaled to 80 all the time, why would people than go to orr anymore? if they can go to a level 1-5 area and plow through monsters 5x as fast with the same loot benefits. 80’s would crowd low level areas and it would be worse for actual 1-5 level players who are being pushed out because they can’t kill anything due to it dying so fast.
I always wonder what happened to that so called trait that Colin used to talk about in those videos where “You trait your skill and now your melee axe becomes a ranged throwable axe” or something like that. (The only one that kind of represents this is the ranger trait to throw traps at locations instead of them being placed under your feet, of which I know about)
Whenever I thought of traits that is what I thought it was going to turn out as. Something that would wildly change an ability. A little similiar to how runes worked in Diablo 3, it would great a unique new effect for your skill.
Instead most of it is some kind of stat booster like 5% damage on _ or inflict extra condition (which feels kinda bland too) and not something like “You’re whirling axe skill will now cause knockback on foes you hit”. I guess it was probably bad to have high hopes for such a change when I heard about the traits from those videos (no idea which one) as well as playing Diablo 3 prior to Guild Wars 2.
Would have been nice if it were similiar to Diablo 3’s rune on skill system, where it would actually slightly change the appearance of your skill. Then you would actually be able to notice when someone uses it, which would also tie into the visual aspect that Arenanet talked about where they wanted spectators to be able to visually see what is going on in fights. Whereas both warriors using whirling axe and they both look the same except one applies another condition (just making that up), it just feels very bland.
I am sensing there is more to this story, players don’t do this kind of trolling without a personal vendetta. If players want to grief, they can simply go to the jumping puzzle in EBT and grief an endless supply of players. Your story doesn’t add up.
Not really, this can happen anywhere. Anyone can simply just think to themselves “mmm I wanna grief someone” “oh look there is some guy, let’s go grief him”
Doesn’t need to be location specific.
There is a simple test to determine if ‘full’ means concurrent users (people online at the same time) or total number of accounts that the server has regardless of their online status.
That test is this: Do server populations drop over the course of time?
If they do, then it cannot be counting the total number of accounts since this number would never go down. When people stop playing they stop playing they do not delete their account.
I’d say the server population changes weekly, why? WvWvW is a factor. My server Far Shiverpeaks used to be full most of the time, but back then we used to be higher up in the tiers of WvWvW. Just checked now, it’s on ‘High’, it’s no longer on full because we’ve dropped a lot in WvWvW. So people have flocked over to the other servers.
The finale didn’t feel that spectacular. It was quite bland. I was hoping something more amazing, like he summons 5 champion giants or something just to slaughter everyone. But it was a simply mad king says (which we kind already did in the mini dungeon) and that was about it.
No actual use besides some little random fun.
You were meant to recieve an ingame mail that sent you a pact token. I’m sure that was meant to be it.
Yes Strifetoe.4502, you get upscaled. Similiar to WvWvW.
Beat it again and again just to get the exotic shoes on my other characters. All 8 of them. No boosts. Includes 1 asura, 1 charr, 2 norn and 4 humans.
Pfff, I manned it out and carried on with my JP’s. I did it on norns, asura, charr, human. I only had to do the charr once, first try, got left. The only problem was with asura and that isn’t because of being view blocked because in the end, I will reach the lead and most of the people I have gone against eventually slow down, it was just the weird stair to broken window jump on asura that kept me redoing it.
It’s emphasised because it’s quite an interesting and different kind of gameplay. Otherwise it would be another generic “go & collect” or “go kill # monsters”. It throws in a little variety into the bowl.
Because in reality, we are…THE ANTI-HERO!
Should I tell that child to stop being naughty? No. I’ll throw a snowball in their face over and over until they get the point.
If this Guild pays £ then sign me up!
Aren’t you confusing it with something else by chance?
Mad King Chests was an item you could get by mystic forging your black lion chest junk.
While on the other hand, some people are simply saying that some chests from the Mad Realm where you fight a champion boss which had a chest behind it, got nerfed to give out less loot or something. Or I could be mistaken. Haven’t heard or seen anything about any other Mad King Chest.
Agreed, it was amazing. It’s a small trivial fun little task that has no real major implications e.g. not completing it means no progress towards next storyline.
I do that too. I try to keep my camera right behind the character at all times, but I’m getting things like this all the time:
http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/920118814643470785/BC4D092F785B37ED20125085446B103D8DD7314D/
Oh, that looks bad. I wonder how that is caused. I used 1980*1080 resolution and my character was fully zoomed out so yet I’ve never experienced that. Mmm wonder if those 2 things listed are possible factors for it.
Not everyone is pro on their first few attempts.
Beat it with my warrior norn, no speed boosts required. I even kept taking the lead. How? I keep moving, others keep pausing every now and then to time their jumps.
To be honest I didn’t suffer from any kind of camera angle issues. Then again when I did the jumping puzzle, I always had my right mouse button held down as a I turn (everyone else did that right?) so I’m not really sure what kind of camera issues others are talking about.
You are going in a spiral, so you constantly need to keep turning to the right as you move forward.
All you need is practice. Similiarly to those saying they can’t see their models, you simply need to perfect your jumping skills. I can’t count the amount of times I was running with the pack to eventually leading and becoming first and slowly breaking away from them.
Then again I was a norn, but I doubt that would have affected me, most of the time I had already memorised the path and when to jump.
But here is also the dilemma, if you are moving constantly and reaching ahead of others like I did, you’re most likely going to complete the jumping puzzle. if you are staggering behind within the group, you aren’t moving efficiently enough. You simply need to keep practicing the first part. Once you get a good headstart, you’ll be running on your own in most cases.
Also agree with some about how bringing in the ‘disability’ part is making your argument any better. Infact a lot of this game would be similiar to the jumping puzzle where you need to react quickly, timing dodges, quickly turning in different directions and using various skills constantly in heat of battles.
Warrior Norn. Norn’s are great at all challenges!
I challenge people with a witch costume to do the tower while sitting on their broom! :P
Can’t change into costume, I tried changing into my mad king and it wouldn’t work.
Can we get a little be more of a heads up as what is to come? some of us like myself, will be working then and completely out of the loop when this ‘event’ is going on.
Is there anything that will create a “you lose out because you weren’t here, no shiny medal for you” or such.
Or will it be something minor like a cinematic/scripted dialogue thing. Where other can simply look it up on youtube and essentially watch it as a replay. And still in the end be in the same position as others.
edit: Although honestly, I preferred Guild Wars 1 methods better. It simply ran in a scheduled timeframe of every 4 hours or so (the finale that is, it’s more or less the same feeling with this ‘super exciting event that you don’t want to miss’)
Risingashes.8694@Zenyatoo.4059
… Considering I’m the first, and the thing you’re proposing doesn’t exist, I guess I’ll just need to not aim to impress you.
I’m more impressed that, with such a winning strategy, you’re not the one with 10000 achievement points. slow clap
Actually I know what Zenya is referring to. There is a method. It doesn’t even require money. Also reasons why probably other people haven’t done it, is because it would be extremely mindless repetition of clicks over and over. You’d need a bot for such a thing.
Also not everyone has that “must be world first” goal.
(edited by Groonz.7825)
I’m just going to give this a bump.
I had used the PvP locker to look through the armors and figure out what to get. I wanted the (pvp name) “Superior Duelist” shoulders but I went to look in the trading post and saw 0 supply, I thought something was off. Did a little more research found out it was the “Iron Legion” shoulders but the karma vendor Gon Rageshot sells everything BUT the shoulders. This seems wrong.
A pumpkin doesn’t need to be an animal to become your pet. Isn’t that right rocky!
That should have been somewhat obvious really. You just need to find someone who will craft it (but then it comes down to if you can trust that person and so forth but ignoring that) the craftable halloween weapons will always be around and someone will always be crafting them to sell.
It’s a different case for the BLTC ones though, who knows if they’ll pop around next year.
I’m also disappointed in how GW2 town clothes work. I preferred GW1, it allowed me to play with Raiment of the Lich Costume on my ranger and made playing the game more enjoyable.
But in GW2, since town clothes are limited to…non-combat situations. I have less of a reason to use them as I’m rarely in towns. So I have no urge to buy them as they will be left in the dark and forgotten about, similiar to minipets.
I originally wanted to support Arenanet by buying costumes in GW2 as that is what I did in GW1 but they just aren’t appealing enough for me to buy them.
I haven’t bought any of the stores costumes but I was wondering
- What pieces make up the costume? It isn’t 6 individual pieces is it? Or is it a single complete overlapping item in which you can’t mix and match with other town clothes?
- The item says account bound but just to make sure; the costume won’t get soulbound to the first character that uses it will it? So if I bought it, I could put it in storage and let other characters use it.

Not all casuals , working folk , etc agree with the gimme now gimme all crowd.
Posted by: Groonz.7825
But these halloween legendaries are somewhat NEVER going to be in the hands of a casual player, ever. If you do manage to get one, I’d say you can be bumped up into the hardcore category.
Are you by chance one of those casuals? since you will never get such a thing, could you simply just give me all your materials instead so someone like me can work on getting them?
Yea, casual players tend to lose out here. It’s one of the things I also noticed, after the initial Act 1 quest and some costume brawling, it looked like the only thing left was ‘farm for halloween legendaries’ which was quite disappointing.
I feel that there should be some kind of thread that outlines what you can do during the event. I’m either completely overwhelmed by the size of the event or I’m simply just lost and have no real direction.
Things that I know;
Quests
*There are the main Halloween acts as listed on the main ‘Guild Wars 2 Halloween page’
Crafting
*There are Halloween weapon skins that can be crafted (note, that these are not the same as the BLTC weapon skins). The weapon skins are essentially like mini-legendaries.
*Halloween themed Tonics/Runes can be crafted.
*Halloween food can be crafted.
Random Misc
*You can get temporary weapon skins from vendor.
*You can costume brawl.
*There are haunted doors that spawn halloween themed monsters which also drop trick or treat bags.
*There are some new jumping puzzles, dynamic events implemented into the game.
My thoughts
I’m just left feeling feeling; “is that it?” as well as “I’m not sure what I can do now” as I’ve been standing around in Lion’s Arch for a while now. It feels like after doing the ghost hunt quest, the only other real thing that feels to be done is ‘farm for halloween legendary’ but to me that seems out of reach and not worth attempting.
Did the costume brawl for 5 mins or so. It’s ok but can get boring once you see some costumes are somewhat OP.
The time limited weapon vendors don’t really seem worth doing (I’m one of those people that don’t see much of a value in limited use items, e.g. time limited weapons, tonics).
I know as the other acts are unlocked, they’ll further the progress of the halloween event chain but for the first act. But as it is now, after completing the first halloween quest, I feel as if I’m at a stand still. In Guild Wars 1 there were quest givers, they somewhat acted as a direction for players so they had some path to follow. I just feel that the main focus after you do your Halloween quest is to ‘farm for crafting materials for Halloween skins’.
Am I missing something?
(edited by Groonz.7825)
3. What do you need to do for Halloween Huntin’? How many of that whatever you need to max out?
Monsters that spawn from ‘Haunted Doors’ in the open world. Such as mummies.
That’s not true, in part because under-level zones give more or less on-level xp and have a chance of dropping on-level loot.
Yea but that’s a smaller % chance, like a made up percentage of like 10% of your drops in a lower level will be your level. It done like this so people can’t simply farm up easy mobs at the same time.
Even with that reasoning, there isn’t much of a reason to go back to other completed areas unless you haven’t 100% the area or want to farm specific drops. Then again you could simply play at your leveled area and get the drops from there, sell them and use the money to buy those crafting items you needed. Very rare someone will go back to an area they have finished.
