Here’s my real advice then. There are no classes that are “bad” for roaming. All classes have different builds that can suit a multitude of needs. I have no clue how many times these topics come up but there is no real answer because not everyone has the same play style or ability.

And with that being said, roll mesmer.

Thanks to the downed state, small groups downing players in much larger groups means absolutely nothing. Yay!

Is that a joke? Because if you put the carts out of range where people can’t aoe them so easily, that lessens the range of the operator on the cart (we know what happens if you put them in range). So if said 80 people fan out and just flash build catas, they can not only destroy the gate/wall and arrows carts, but avoid constant fire too. Edit: But even if they don’t build siege and just continue to auto attack, simply fanning out, strafing, and dodging will defuse any arrow cart damage in the secs it’ll take you to headbang gate open.

And who is afraid of arrow cart fire except for glass cannons when you’re in a group of apparently 80? There’s bound to be a support class or ten floating about.

Actually, changing our hair while blue balling EBay and CD that showed up to try to take south camp was actually really fun.

The point isn’t to look good, it’s to look obnoxious. But we just got the hair color, so we’re all messing around with what looks better with it, matches, etc. I just set mine to starter colors and called it a day.

Edit: I think my eyes actually hurt from looking at multiple characters with this color. Please help.

It’s not much of a tactic, and it happens ALL the time. People see a way to troll and easy kills and they jump on it. But in every borderland and Eternal, there are other exits out of spawn, so spawn camping only exists if idiots allow themselves to be farmed.

EBay is using their internal powers to make Maguuma crash while we’re trying to take their west keep. This is one defensive strategy I still don’t know how to counter.

Gotta love it when people get hurt about seeing one loss so they feel to need to compensate for themselves by saying they farmed us at some completely different time.

Is that what you call a defeat? You do realize you died just as much as we did, right? In the end we took out your numbers and seige over and over and it was Maguuma that had the camp AND tower. EBay took the camp for what, 10 minutes? before it was flipped back again to us. Before and after that, we were wiping people trying to pour into the camp and treb. I got two levels and and entire inventory. In fact, you can even see someone’s Black Merchant in the pic I posted, which pretty much shows the amount of our rewards. So thanks for that, I guess.

If you’re gonna try and be proud of something, at least be proud of an actual accomplishment. Unless you’re trolling of course, then keep on keepin’ on.

You’re not really right, you’re talking about duels, not jumping puzzle, and they are not the same as each other. For one, obviously, one is PvE and the other is PvP. Players have been screaming to get the JPs out of WvW for months. The only reason people have been comparing it in this thread is because it’s a choice people can make in WvW.

But if you think people fighting across servers is the same in terms of taking up space as jumping to a chest on a daily basis, then you should really take off those foggy glasses you’re wearing.

That massive fight at SW camp on EB yesterday was some good fun. Havent throughly enjoyed myself or had some nail bitting fights like that in weeks.

Duelists take up space only if they duel when there is something at stake. This is not the circumstance you mentioned when the duel stops when necessary. It is like party A vs Party B. Garrison is under seige w/ 20 percent at outer wall. Party A and B are happily fighting irrespective of the circumstance. If any players from party A or B die, they don’t assist nor do they defend in the garrison battle, they return to their duel spot, and re-comense their hostilities. In this instance, they are not helping their server in WVW. The team of party A or B could have defended or taken that Garison as the case may be. And a person who sees them will certainly put the blame on them, even if having them there or not would have made a difference or not.

Now whether it is allowed, is well yes. You can sleep their for 24/7. Just making sure to do something when the timer starts to count, or auto cast a buff. but again, this is my opinion, you do what you want because you bought this game for your own reasons.

Me personally? It wouldnt matter to me if you went out partying when I asked for your help, that’s your prerogative. Edit: Are you saying you want to be friends? I like friends! I don’t move to the assumption that someone doesn’t care about something or won’t server something just because in one moment in time, they chose to follow their own interests. I say this out of personal experience, not to spite you, because it actually has happened to me on several occasions.

And I did say it before, in my first post and to a reply to you I stated the circumstance were people who were “partying” during down time, not during “finals.” Another point should be made that not ever tower or supply camp is SO important at every given moment that you need to drop what you’re doing and go defend it.

Searching for exact words is silly, as different words can convey the same meaning. You stated people who want to serve their server are defending. Are you not implying that people who are dueling are not? In order to be painted as a defender of your server, use must defend 24/7? Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’m just trying to understand your words.

Being someone who enjoys fight clubs or duels does not automatically make you someone who does not care about their server or defending. You are making assumptions about people just because they are doing something else in WvW other than sitting on a tower or seige.. Fight clubs are not full time jobs. Its something you do in between borderland defense and offense.

The people that figth club 24/7 are few and far between and not the kind of people we’re currently talking about.

The other day I was losing a keep in home border, and couldn’t call in reinforcements because the border was already full. Turns out a 20 man guild zerg was busy doing a JP instead of helping us, so we lost the keep.

If OP’s border was full at the time they were dueling, they should have found an empty border to do it. If there was no queue, however, let them duel all they want

Just that the more vocal people in this thread are duelists, while those who do wvw to serve their server are in game defending.

That kind of passive aggressive tone helps no one and only ignites flame wars. I am not a duelist yet I completely disagree with the OP.

To say it again and simply, no, it is not against thr rules. What players choose to do with their time in WvW is their business as long as it does not go against the ToA/C, which it doesn’t.

That being said, fight club participants will almost always go to an empty BL or move if things become heavy. So “wasting a slot” should not be a concern.

Also it is not “basically afk botting”. The players are engaging in duels and having fun on their terms with no in-game profit. It is “basically WvW”.

Congrats you have more people in your server then the other two servers especially more kiddies that are still in school since today on a holiday it seemed FA had their entire server at a time where its normally empty. When you go back up to Tier 2 eventually and get stomped again because Kain and BG have more people then you then you’ll understand how it feels. Vicious cycle of WvW.

Believe me we know, we were in a similar situation as you are now for months against TC. Which is why i feel the chest thumping by certain FAers is out of place as the main reason we’re winning is population and, to a lesser extent, coverage.
