So I guess no one really likes SAB after all? I thought a lot more people would have been down for this after all the “Occupy SAB” we had when Anet did not bring SAB back during the time frame it was originally released.

Oh that thread, I thought he meant there was another thread asking for the same thing for Wintersday.
Btw, I do not wish my thread to be jumbled into that thread since I am asking for a very specific request based around Wintersday. Yes I did re-make the request for the ICC to be reinstated on the gem store with new functionality, because I like SAB enough to want to have it available at least once a week. Maybe that’s to much, would it be better to have it once a month?

I wanted to get this idea out there before Anet shuts down for Wintersday and we end up with another one to two months of no updates and only Wintersday activities to provide the only form of entertainment during the holidays. When in fact you will notice that this is the time that a lot of people have the most time during the year to actually have weeks off from work and school to play.

This year while you are away Anet!!!! How about you turn on all the old SAB instances and let us have this as well as all the old Wintersday activities. Make some new Wintersday themed skins for Moto to trade for during this time.

Also maybe allow for people a way to acquire older achievements that they missed out on from SAB.
You could bring back the Infinte Continue Coin to sell on the BLgem store with a new addition in its description “allows player and his team to access SAB once per week” at any other time during the year. I understand that you want the skins to be rare so turn off Moto’s trade system when using the ICC to access SAB in this way.

So how about it Anet? I am sure we can prove that we want this, by everyone adding a +1 to this and comment on how much you want this. So everyone SHOW some Support and make em see we want this!!!

{Sug}Hero Panel add Toys & Tools Tabs

I like it, anything that helps keep my bank a lil more organized I’m all for it. If Anet did something for account bound stuff* in a feature pack hopefully we can get an option for a second bar for toys, gadgets, food, & boosts to go along with your idea.

I think with the addition of the way things are being done within the hero panel tabs, as in the mini goes away after you add it and becomes available to any toon on the account this is the way to include all of these toy type items.

As far as the second bar for consumables on screen, I had already suggested along time ago that they Not add it like you pictured it. Instead, to add another button to toggle 6 7 8 9 0 the same way we have a toggle button for weapon switching. Big difference would be that this button would have to be held down and at the same time you press the number to eat or use whatever consumable was in corresponding number, if you let go of the button it would go right back to the skills bar to keep from being attacked with the consumable bar open and not being able to defend yourself with healing and non weapons skills. This bar would include Nourishment’s, Alcohol, Bundles(which Anet might as well taken them out of the game after this last secret nerf done to them), Blueprints, & Boosts. Tonics would not go here as they would be in my suggested place the Toys tab.
Also I wanted a third button to toggle the whole bar 1-0 with a emote bar that would allow you to insert /emote icons into the bar you use constantly with the same hold+number and once you let go of the toggle button it goes automatically back to the skill bar.

so type this “/me eats a delicious, yet sour, Omnomberry Tart!” hit enter-It will say it like you type it and it will appear as if it is a emote to everyone else. Yes I do realize there will not be an animation to coincide with the eating. But for me the /me emote is better than adding 1000 emotes as I can perform the emote the way I want and not a predetermined set.

Two things are funny one group is in denial. How can you make the statement “No mounts ever” when dur they are already in game and one even breaks the naysayer biggest taboo that it in fact gives a speed boost. And the other thing is when that naysayer quoted the other naysayer and attacked his naysaying as if he was promount.

Gummy.4278

Please add inside the hero panel a new tab to go right under Finishers called Toys. The Toy tab will include all the instruments, balloons, kites, mounts(aka broom/carpet/tunneling), Drop items like the Water Fight Balloon Bucket, Bobblehead Laboratory, and Belcher’s Bluff tables and all Tonics.
This new tab will allow you to add all of these items the same way minis are added to their tab and once added you will select which toy you want to use within the tab. For this to function properly, add a new toggle button which can be assigned inside the control options. Once an item is toggled on you would still use the current button on the skill bar to disable the item, this is however up to discussion to the advantage of using the toggle button to be pressed a second time to turn the item off might be included as well.

Please add inside the hero panel a new tab to go right under Toys called Tools. This new tab would be a place to put all your gathering equipment and future tools as they become available.
Tools will be added to the tab the same way that minis are added to their tab. You will then be able to toggle between the three gathering tools you want to display on each character. If the tools you are using are not permanent they will stack up allowing as many uses as you have available. Having more than one set of a permanent set will need discussion as what should be done if you had purchased more than one set, although owning a set that has a different visual display would not go under this, as having more visuals might be appealing to some.

Please upgrade the hero panel Equipment tab to add the functionality as listed from all the other tabs to allow toggling Account Bound Accessories, Rings, Amulets and Account Bound Armors for each character. These items would be added to the Equipment tab much the same way Minis are added to its tab. There is a need for discussion on how Gem’s, Runes and Sigils will be placed onto these items if the item is shared on more than one character, should gems, runes, sigils have the ability to permanently added to equipment and being able once added you can change to other gems, runes, sigils on the fly.

Gummy.4278

Here is something I want to add to the punch…..the more level 80’s you have already the more said “accumulator” or whatever you want to call it, would gain or trade off levels. Don’t much care for the idea of getting all that crap together just to construct the item that makes it work. That idea in itself is more time consuming than just doing the leveling from scratch.

Or maybe have the amount of level 80’s you already have, would allow for a new toon to gain 2 levels per each. If you have 5 level 80 toons you could start the new toon @level 10, maybe the item/tome is automatically sent to all new toons on the account much the way the Hero’s Band and the Banker Golem is done. This might work best as a gem store upgrade.

Anet goofed on the Asian hat design.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gummy.4278

Gummy.4278

I am okay with this particular design, as I’ve said earlier in this thread, other than its implementation as a Halloween costume and brushing aside all my problems with Cantha itself.

However, I find worrying that people are so quick to jump in shouting “it’s just a Halloween thing who cares” the moment people start discussing it, because it’s the same kind of defensiveness you see in people who find it fun to use blackface or wear feathered headdresses when told they’re being disrespectful, right before they shut down the conversation.

Fantasy and Cantha or not, the fact is inspiration is drawn from existing cultures. Please be open to discussion (or criticism, if it comes to that) on it, and be willing to accept that what seems ok to you as an outsider to those cultures can rub someone who knows and/or lives it wrong. People are allowed to say if something is wrong.

Note that this is not adressed to anyone in particular, but more a response to the tone of some of the posts I’m seeing in this thread. OP was wrong in saying the hat was a result of “not enough research”, as has been pointed out – but several people seem to see a general criticism of the costume and immediately jump on the “it’s just for fun/Halloween sheesh cool down” excuse, when it is not, in fact, a good excuse. If the issue had been that the hat was designed after a real life hat that had significant cultural meaning but was used here as a trivial matter and thus cheapened that culture for the sake of looking cool in a game, for example, would they have still used that excuse? Probably, and that’s what my issue is.

did you read my post made earlier in the thread?

is it wrong to wear a slightly torn hat? =,=

The hole in the hat is so that you can look though to see the spirit for what he really is. Think of it like this, have you ever seen something out of the corner of your eye and when you turn your head its gone. With that concept the Onmyoji would use this hole in the hat to look out of the corner of there eye while looking directly in front of them. Thus allowing them to see the spirit and bring them out of hiding so they could do battle with them.

Gummy.4278

First let me say, that the title suggests that Anet goofed and then your first line is that its nice to see them introduce Canthan content. Which is to say, that if they did include this as Canthan, then they are the creators of said content and would know exactly what the hat should look like, not the OP.

But I believe the costume design has a lot to do with Onmyoji which would be like an exorcist or demon/ghost hunter. You will notice that the hat has paper ofuda hanging on all sides, which is a talisman that either protects the wearer by preventing possession, or simply wards off evil spirits. Taoists also use a version of ofuda calledkitten In Buddhism and Hinduism they are called Sutras. In Korean shamanism they are known as Pujok. Some ofuda might have simple commands like count and then the onmyoji would empty a bag of rice on the ground and the spirit would be force to count each grain, giving him time to seal the spirit.

Seeing as the costume was introduced for Halloween it makes perfect sense. If you know of some of these practices and religions.

I don’t know how well this will be received by the community, but here goes nothing.

What if they added Master Recipe Books into the game somehow, that would unlock all the unknown recipes for each different Craft Profession. I don’t mean like for instance a recipe that a chef has to take a food and stuff to the mystic forge to get the recipe to make it in bulk to drop for your party. Just the Discoveries.

When I say somehow, it could be done several ways like drops from big bosses like Teq. or you can get it after you max the craft or my least favorite idea gems.

Also what happens when you double click on the Master Chef Recipe Book and you learn all the recipes that you did not unlock prior to. Does it give you a rush of exp?

I will let the community that wants to support the idea iron out what details this should follow for a proper addition to the game.

BunjiKugashira.9754
Wait, I’m confused. What part of the game is this post about: PvE, PvP or WvWvW?
Players can’t kill other player in PvE, so that’s out.
In PvP there’s a spawn where the enemies can’t enter ? killing at spawn is impossible.
In WvWvW you can’t enter the enemie spawn either because of legendary defenders. Also the spawn has multiple exits, so camping them all requires quite the manpower.
And isn’t zerging single players or smaller groups a legitimate tactic? Why would A-Net do anything against that? And what does this have to do with camping corpses? Is there some secret way of standing up again after being defeatet that I don’t know about? Except of Revival-Orbs, which are way too expensive for repeated use.

He missed the most important part of the OP’s post.

While I think a great many players also agree, the CDI for guilds was talked about before the patch.

Yeah, but I didn’t care about it then either. CDIs are great, but there is nothing they could do involving guilds that would make the game any better, and the only thing they could do is make things worse (by adding new features that you need to be part of a large guild to benefit from), so I’ve never cared about a guild-based CDI. Before this week, I would have wanted a CDI on the destructive changes to the Traits system introduced in the last feature patch.

This new patch is a major issue though, and they need to have a major sit-down explaining why we shouldn’t hate the things we believe we hate about it. Why should we like the new level-gating system? Why should anyone? Why should we appreciate having to go several layers deep to see what we just sold rather than having it as a top-level option? These are all far more important topics of discussion than anything involving guilds.

To you maybe but the world doesn’t revolve around either you or I. I promised the CDI and we are doing it. There is plenty of awesome stuff that can come from it so it is a pleasure to be able to read what members of the CDI have to say.

if you don’t see the value in it then don’t partake.

Cheers

Chris

It’s sort of like planning a family meeting a week in advance to talk about how the kids could help out mom more around the house. You promise your wife it will get better, and set a date and time. Then, when the promised time comes up, the house catches on fire. Rather than addressing the fire, you stubbornly sit your family down in the burning living room to make good on your promise.

That is the degree of sense you are making. It is such a magnitudinous sign relating to the disconnect between what is going on, and what ANET wants to do.

No. It is nothing like that at all.

Chris

And we won’t have the patience for you to go through all 5 steps. So fix things by being one of the first companies to actually take the next step in business and truly listen to your community.

No I think that I should be able to get a refund, they took and changed the way the game worked thus making my purchase a waste and they have given refunds in the past. Its also my understanding that they are giving refunds on commander tags if you had bought more than three tags all over that would get the gold back. The one thing that I always wanted and suggested was being able to sell to the highest Buy Order and let the tp take the fees when the sale was completed, letting you pick up the difference. So that if you had a high dollar item to sale you could benefit from it without farming for days just to pay listings before you could even put the item up for sale. If you was trying to get best price then paying upfront fees for listing a Sale Order would be required.
I was told that the way the TP works they could not do this by a Dev, that they would have to rework the entire way the TP worked for that and it was not gonna happen. Yet they did rework it but lazily just left that same old way of handling the fees in there. To me it just make more sense to do it the way I suggest.

I like the new improvements but still wish this one feature had come with the updates to the TP as well. This would have been the cherry on the top. Guess this is never gonna see the light of day.

As it would make sense that everyone and their Mother would be rolling a new toon to try and level it, thus forcing you into seeing the new features in action.

A lot of complaints just based on the fact that most already got their toons to 80 and don’t see how these features benefit us at all. Having a reason to use the new features would quell some of the complaints and yes it would not stop them. Hell ya’ll complaining that I said it was known fact they was adding new race, when I didn’t.

I wonder how much complaining will take place if the last week Feature Pack reveals a new race or new profession to play….all those changes to leveling would see some play then. A lot of people are simply rejecting some of the new features as not needed as they have most if not all toons to level 80. Having a new toon to level could change that perspective greatly.

Actually this is what we need a new area to start leveling a new race/profession. I bet most would want that to be Tengu/Dervish or something like that. Leave a comment below telling what race/profession you want to see.

Account bound Birthday Blaster please

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Gummy.4278

That makes no sense.. the Birthday Present is for the CHARACTER that reaches 2 years old, not the account. If you made it account bound, then you’re alts are effectively having their birthday present before your birthday.

Besides there will be an abundance of birthday cakes everywhere anyway. There is a problem in that people can troll with them though, which needs to be addressed. Use some expensive food, then have someone birthday-cake you and there goes your expensive food buff.

It seems the cake doesn’t overwrite other food buffs. In fact, if you have another food buff, you can’t get the cake buff.

Yah sorry, I edited that out as I was told in map chat it doesn’t stack and wrongly assumed it then overwrote previous food.. After I did actually try it it seems fine

Are you saying they made it so you can have a food buff and the other buff and the cake destroys that buff to apply the birthday buff. If that’s the case its broken, as people will just go around trying to trick you into loosing the buffs you already have.

So far there is no trap mastery as far as I know.

I know about the lack of trap mastery, that was not what I was going for ……knowing that the new siege disabler trick(this is a trick not a trap btw) will be available someone may want to try and put points in another mastery say instead of ram’s they might want to switch to treb’s since it might make it harder for that trick to get played.

But also allowing you to change up other points so that you may try the new golem mastery as well…

Add a new Commander tag called Supreme which will cost 400g(this is negotiable) and allow a commander to make lieutenants tags within his squad. This means something like, Commander X wants Silly Billy to break off his 5 man party from the squad(not leaving the squad) and try to take a supply camp. Commander X types in “/promote Silly Billy”. Silly Billy get a Single bar Dorito that he does not have to pay any gold for as long as he stays in commander x’s squad he keeps that tag unless commander x realizes Silly Billy really is Silly and “/demote Silly Billy”.
This way Commander X will see all of his lieutenants on map and can coordinate them and his squad to do a much more complicated attack plan. Imagine one group that is small leads the enemy zerg into a narrow choke point heading right to Commander X’s main squad while, before they ram into each other he can instruct his second lieutenant to come in from behind to seal their retreat path and his third to stay to his rear if things don’t go as expected he can call a retreat into the other group reinforcing his ranks and also fooling the opponents commander into following him further making the trap snap tightly closed.

Anybody got any more ideas to add to the Supreme Commanders list please contribute your ideas or is this a bad idea.

I have been thinking about Gummy’s ideas for mounted combat.

let me start by saying that i am 100 % against open world speed-boost mounts. My reasons are all over these forums.

I do find the ideas behind mounted combat in a specific zone … intriguing.

If the zone is kept purely optional. I see nothing wrong with the idea, as Long as they stick to Lore. No sitting on some poor beast. I find that the game does not support the idea of beasts being used for " sentient species" enjoyment.

Even the Dolyak masters that use Dolyak’s for transporting wine around don’t ride Dolyak’s.

Maybe the Charr have found a way to build steampunk mechas? Or the Asuras have made Golems available?

What I like about this idea is, Anyone that doesn’t wish to see mounts need not see them. They are constrained to a location where the only people that need to see them are those that wish to.

My big issues are open world speed boost going against class balance, screen clutter, aesthetics, and the possibility of using mounts to grief others… grabbing mob agro and kiting them to some poor shlub trying to tackle a couple of mobs of his or her own..suddenly has 4 or 5 others to contend with. We know that there are… ummm unsocial players about that would love the oppurtunity.

So open world speed boost mounts? or cosmetic mounts? totally against. A zone selected out… that has mount combat for those that want it, and is completely optional? It’s defenitely worth thinking about. Then again…The devil is always in the details.

Just WOW!!!! See I have made some progress towards bridging the gap. I think that the most recent announcement of Siege Golem Mastery is a step closer in that direction.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/wvw-improvements-in-the-september-2014-feature-pack/

Imagine an area large enough to let loose those huge charr war machines sitting in the Black Citadel….I think most of the ideas would have you riding on machines or inside the them.

Instead of locking us out all the time allow us some form of currency that we can pay Moto to play anytime we want in the old worlds already completed. For example for 5 to 10 laurels you could buy an “SAB all day play coin” something akin to an arcade token. Also even though I did not buy one from the Gem store anyone who did get the Infinite Continue Coin allow them all day access once per week without the need to buy the SAB all day play coin as an extra benefit to the infinite coins current function. hell id pay 100laures+ a few hundreds gold and gems to get playing sab
(and using my leftover colourfull tokens that are now over a year kittening in my bank space)
just the recepies to make colorufull weapons would lighten up my bank but… grumpy cat works for anet and ays no!

ok you might want to tone that down a bit seeing the rest of us poor folks don’t want to give them ideas that might make them go with that as one hell of an expensive solution. Besides I am not asking for an item you get from laurels that allows you permanent access.
One weeks dailies is worth 24hours play inside SAB maybe two weeks dailies, but no way 100 laurels, unless you are just saying make another coin that allows you perm access. Which I think my idea of adding to the functionality of the current unused Infinite Continue Coin would make for a better solution. Not to mention that some feel that this content needs to be behind a timed gate so as not to flood the game with skins so they are a bit more rare.

And if not once a week at least once per month. Re Release the ability to purchase the Infinite Continue Coin on the gem store as well.

Mount Debate

ok I don’t believe my eyes. I am pro mount and would love to have discussion on this topic where both sides listen and compromise, but you literally just started a new thread while one sits right within a few inches of this one. Shame on you.

Furthermore you are not gonna CONTROL how people respond to this topic as it really is a passionate affair for both sides.

I know all the SAB threads that are popping up, had you feeling that maybe a couple more mount threads would not hurt…

There is no compelling reason to not add them.
We do not need compelling reasons to not add them.

Compelling to whom?

ANet.

The devs are the ones to take action. If ANet wants the players to have “cool”, they give cool. Cool gives them profits.
If they don’t, resources go elsewhere, no-[insert feature here] status quo is maintained.

Who does not need to be compelled?
Players. They are not devs, each one is a solitary opinion.

If the content is provided, players will take it or not. Or, to say again, should the devs decide against the status quo on anything (Traits, anyone?) what’s to be done about it?

1) Cry nonono the entire time. This gives no compromise, and therefore, no solutions.

We that do not want mounts do not want any solutions to How to implement mounts. We do not want mounts.

2) Make recommendations and adapt. Instead of kittening about the premise, find a way it would work for you.

We that do not want mounts do not want any way to be found to implement mounts. We do not want mounts.

3) Quit. Yup, some people actually quit. Quit the game. Quit the conversation. Quit their old argument and ascend in philosophy.

If all it takes for someone to quit the game is the lack of a mount…. not sure what to say.

I have always said that we that do not want mounts are not the ones that need to be compelled. Ultimately what we believe is 100 % completely irrelevant.

The only reason i post is because I do not wish Anet to think that I do not care whether we have mounts or not. I care strongly. I do not want them.

But it is Ironic, that those that do want mounts do not realize I am trying to be helpful.

I will explain.

For 2 years those that want mounts basically make a very simple argument.

1. I think they would be cool.
2. I want them.
3. Why not?

And 2 years later, we still have no mounts In the game. What does this tell me? Those areguments are not compelling Anet to provide mounts.

Then we have occasional bouts where the Pro-mount say " well, what are your reasons for excluding them?" and the players that do not want them… will proceed to give their reasons, which the pro-mount side will then deflate… thinking they have won a Point in a debate…but here is the problem. The WEAKEST argument from the anti-mount side, is still going to win, when all the anti-mount side wants is the status-quo.

Let that sink in. As long as the pro-mount side, does Not make a single compelling and credible argument… to Anet, not to us…. Anet will continue to do what they have always done. Not provide mounts

Thank me. Because if you just continue with the meaningless " oh ya? what’s your argument against?" and tearing into those arguments… you will not get mounts. Mainly because you refuse to give any compelling and credible argument for why they are either beneficial, or necessary, and worth the time, energy, and resources needed to implement them.

You can think about it, or continue as you have been… I prefer you not provide compelling arguments, since I am happy without mounts.

The only argument I need is." No, I do not want mounts."

Here is the reason why I don’t think that we will ever get speed boost mounts in the traditional sense that everyone associates with them. This also proves that my ideas are more plausible and compelling to make an addition to the game.

Nerelith you will also notice in this video Colin’s compelling reason that it could be possible with a combat mount system, like the one that I suggested, is that it would be AWESOME & SUPER COOL. I think my work is done here.

If the problem is that you want the skin purchases limited to the timed events turn off all purchases during “all day play”. You can have the fun and work on achievements but limit the skins to actually when SAB is open.

Commander tags will become account bound

Maybe they should say instead if you have more than one, for EACH Extra you can replace that one with a new color Free.
We wanted new colors to separate what we were doing in WvW. Guild leaders and officers wanted a new dorito that only guild members can see in game and we all wanted them account bound as the person is the leader is still the leader even if he is now on a low level toon or just wants to get to open up exploration on the toon that does not have 100% map compleation. In cases like this I see Anet does not listen to us.

The Commander tag should do all these things without needing to buy multiples. One tag should be account bound and can change color to any of the new ones also you should be able to switch between leading Wvw, or leading your Guild, or leading open world boss fights. 300g for this one item seems fair but 300g for all colors is a rip off. You will see an influx of tags bought just to supersede the up hike in price and that just to avoid paying the extra 200g that will be taxed on.

I didn’t feel sorry for him at all. He can handle his self just fine. Besides you should note, that he called Anise out on something I have suspected for a long time, that she is really old and using her magic to cover up that age. I don’t know if I would go 275 years old but old yes. Livia was a Necromancer not a Mesmer, and although changing your secondary was possible back then changing you main was never possible.
