Gathering Nodes For Dailies

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gummy.4278

Gummy.4278

You can use home instance nodes, too… maybe not your own racial home, but each different region has a home instance that you can use.

Let me correct this.

If you have nodes unlocked for your account you can use each and every racial home instance to farm the nodes for the daily once per day no matter what your racial city is.

This might sound strange so let me spell it out. For today’s daily they had Maguuma Jungle Lumberer, I logged into my Asuran character, which has the permanent tools equipped. I then was able to goto the Grove and into the Sylvari racial home instance and chop down the trees that I have currently unlocked on my account once per day. This is not well known, for some reason people think you need to match the race to the home instance to the daily in order for it to work, you only need to match the daily to the location of the home, race is not a factor. Please pass on what you have learned today.

we are not getting a feature like that, i’m saying this just like when my friend tells me i’m imagining stuff in my head again when i tell him i suspect him for messing with another woman…
so, no.

and no again it’s not unfair… look each one of us is already a special little snowflake just enough
yes each one of us never get enough attention this is true.
but we are special by what life has given/taken (mostly given in-factz) for/from us so far.
there are no dublicates…
let’s be happy with that, and ponder the actually relevant things. like, how to avoid hunger spreading (population rising = restricting this, and in theory this can be done moderately peacefully if only explanation precise enough is given in public – nobody likes lies and secrecy, really.) and how to avoid wars… wich is kind of hard because you know these conspiracy theories how war makes money – yet it’s true so it can’t be ignored.

no wait – why some inviduals actually need 10 villas of wich they use about 2-3, collection of cars or whatever else you really don’t need?
they do this to feel special?
do they feel special then? in their hearts… no. maybe some do though. but i dont really think so. and they make war. hmm. what’s their problem seriously???

also, we need more serious and emphatic psychologists in our world.

so…
nobody really needs to slam a goal to be “special”. or something like that…
“hey this guy gets that. unfair. i deserve it as well.”
okay. why do you deserve this?

you make your own living so painful by assuring that other people are someway better than you. just like… rytlock. i’m just jealous to him for being a game character that doesn’t really exist.
look.
nobody knows this, but you also have something other people don’t. it’s your nature that has been in you since birth. the way you act, and understand, plus many other ways of measuring it. everyone has it different.

so just chill as long as you have a roof above your head, a computer to play gw2, food to eat and in best cases work to do… but even roof and food is really good.

i want that hamburger meal with bbq sauce, french fries and coke. surprise, it’s not a superspecial disgusting half-raw steak from 100 dollar restaurant made by “top-cook”… cause hamburger meal is good enough. thing is, nearest hamburger restaurant is like 40 kilometres away and it’s closed for night. heh. also i’m not very rich to buy that meal every day.
so that meal isn’t special, but i know really the moment i eat it, that moment is very special to me. drools yet it isn’t necessary unless you’ve got nothing else to eat for hunger.

good night (hey mod, i guess youre gonna delete this so just in case i hope you had good time reading. ive never been very good at forums… it’s because i’m so wild. ive been banned from another forum 2 times as well for misbehaviour. but i would say some people dont want to read pieces of truth. and i always somehow manage to connect one subject to another, while other people see it as completely different matter because i haven’t explained it precisely enough. i just dont know, is there such a forum where without a care you can write anything you get ideas about… but still a place without spam. anyway good night)

I think you are holding back…..tell us how you really feel.

See, I thought I might be missing something.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Krytan_Armor_Chest

For anyone unfamiliar with it, the Krytan/Primeval/Profane chest includes both a set of armor skins and a set of low-level armor with that skin. You basically get the skin twice, once for your low-level gear (so you can wear it right away) and a set of skins to wear when you replace that gear.

I’m not sure I see the point of selling it separately, however. Just buy the skins and apply them to some dirt-cheap low-level gear, if that’s what you want. Or some high-level gear.

Ok I see now thought I was going crazy. Ok nvm gonna do that instead.

Are…are you sure you know what “Legacy Armor” is? Because I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking if you do.

If you’re talking about the Legacy Armor included with the Heroic edition of the game, that refers to Krytan, Primeval, and Profane armor, each of which can already be purchased from the Gem Store. They’re called “Legacy” because they’re each references a style of armor from Guild Wars 1.

I am pretty dang sure you do not know what I am asking for either. I knew this was gonna be a thing and now Anet how about adding the ability to store your account names in a drop down menu on the launcher. So you would click the drop down and I would see Gummy.4278 and Gummy2.9992(not saying that this is an account btw) and when you click on one it loads the password in if you have it saved and you log into that account.
Also while in game if you have multiple accounts add a button so when you click the game menu and the logout button you get the new button “switch accounts”. Upon pressing you get to select which account.

[Suggestion] Consumable Slots

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gummy.4278

Gummy.4278

I would rather you have button that you assign to flip the current skill bar over to the consumable bar and also you have to hold the button in while activating the number on the bar. This way, if you are in WvW or sPvP type game play and you get attacked you just let go of the button you assigned and it goes back to being the skill bar and you go right back to being able to fight. The reason you need more than just two or three slots is the Siege Items you build in WvW would need a slot for each plus any food/utility/boosts you want to use, so 10 slots would greatly assist Commanders and help anyone else needing the extra spots.
Also add another button to assign to use for a /emote bar that operates in the same manner as listed for the consume bar. Make emoticons for all the /emotes and have it while you have your assigned button pressed a + sign will appear and you can add whichever emoticon you want in the bar. So you can always get to that emoticon fast as possible.
Also note my idea does not need more UI elements added so that would expedite the production.

{Sug}Hero Panel add Toys & Tools Tabs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Gummy.4278

Gummy.4278

After contemplation on the part about the Runes, Sigils, Gems, and Infusions. I think the best way to handle this is to have a new socket added in the Equipment section dedicated to them. So instead of actually placing the gem onto the Amulets/Ring/Accessories/Backpack you would slot them into a slot dedicated to them right next to the item slot. Also this would allow you to re-Gem all you would do is take a new Gem with the stats you desire and click it into the slot the old gem would then fall out of the slot safely back into your bag. This would apply to runes, sigils, and infusions as well.
Now if you had a ring that had and offensive Infusion slot and in your Infusion slot you had a defensive ability you would not receive that infusion ability. Furthermore, if the slot was available and you tried to apply a defensive infusion into the infusion slot of a offensive ring the the infusion would highlight as red and it would not fall into place.
This would require anet to revamp all the equipment to take away slots on them and place the slots for there allotment on the toon instead in the equipment tab.

The Main thing here is you will be able to pull off runes and replace them cost effectively without fear of losing your investment into them. SO with that being said, Please add a Runes/Sigils/Infusions Tab maybe call it Upgrades so that you can store these items ready to switch.

Maybe also add more functionality by allowing us to store templates of our current Gear setup that could be toggled by picking the stats you want out of combat.

1. If I tell you the secret then its not a secret anymore and once you tell one person it will not take long before they tell a friend and so on and so on till everyone is doing it. 2. If everyone starts doing it Anet will nerf it, I feel like they have this alarm that goes off every time someone mentions farming and they send in a cleaning crew to nerf it. They will always encourage you to just play the game and not stand over a spot and kill kill kill and the best form of encouragement they use is to nerf the spot.

[Suggestion] Guild Wars Con

Gummy.4278

I think ArenaNet or maybe NCSOFT and all of its games could pull off an exclusive once per year Convention here in the USA that is solely Dedicated to us and our little circle of games not conglomerated with other gaming companies or platforms. Much like the competition does once a year. With that being said, I suppose you need one for Europe and China as well.
If they did offer an exclusive NCSOFT or ArenaNetCon would you want to attend? Would you Cosplay your favorite character from Gw2 all with a contest for a prize? What would you want to see or add to my little list of things that could be done?
The excitement of BIG exclusive announcements for content, opportunity to meet with fellow Guild-mates and Developers. Maybe compete in some PvP, get sneak peaks of new gameplay that you can actually sit down and play with for a little while. Fabulous Artwork displays, good eats and treats with recipes normally found only in game(who doesn’t want to try some Omnomberries treats) Exclusive Merchandise that shows others that you attended the Con, like T-shirts and other bad kitten apparel. Contests to win Amazing prizes. How about exclusive in game item like a miniature, weapon skin, and a finisher, this would be a part of your welcome bag full of goodies. Some other goodie bag ideas could be pins/badges to wear while in attendance, coupons for vendors who have booths set up to showcase their merchandise (kinda like SteelSeries has GW2 mouses and stuff like that).

One of the Gendarran events had major scaling issues, where only 3 to 4 rock dogs would spawn for what seemed like 200 people. People were complaining afterwards that they did not get credit as they others melted the rock dogs in 1/1000 of a second. Yet one event is causing people to rally for it and they can not participate with it since it appears to lock you out once you have completed it. Over near the Snowblind waypoint the group battle pit.
If Anet is gonna take away the ability to choose more options to complete the daily then maybe go back over some of these old events and fix them so they do not cause problems such as the ones I listed. Possibly having the events spawn more times than usual if they are in the daily list. Maybe even add, dare I say it, some new events to spawn. After all it supposed to be a living world isn’kitten

One thing I noticed also is people come into the map and as soon as they arrive they ask “events?”. We are all looking for them just look on the map and see if a commander has a tag on most are linking the location and/or the waypoint as they find them. If you find one you too can also link to help rally people.

Salvage kit Slot

I like it, though, I can see folk who bought multiple everlasting harvesting tools screaming for refunds because now they have extras, lol. I have multiple of those but I also have more avies that don’t have kits so it is a pain to retrieve them when you need them. This would go a long ways towards solving that. Having a bag that shows in inventory account-wide that takes only account wide items would be very nice. Great idea +1 here as well.

If it was done as I have suggested before where in the hero tab there would be a tab for tools where the dyes/minis/equip/wardrobe/etc. If you have multiple tools of the same kind you could be allowed to get them switched for another tool skin. Then each toon would select the tool skin/animation that best fits them. Pretty much the way now you can put a check mark on the mini you want to use with that toon. Any extra after the skin swap would need a refund.

Also add functionality to infinite salvage tools so you can right click them and now have a option pop up that lets you select to salvage all white items or blue or green etc. and you would have like a check box beside each so you could select multiple choices once you click on the ones you want to activate you would hit a salvage button and every item you selected would go poof

Overwolf is an overlay system that recently was introduced via Teamspeak. Overwolf has lots of apps for GW2 that will allow overlays in game. Even Anet sponsored a design contest for people to come up with new app ideas.

Anyway to the meat of the matter, this app has the ability to load sheet music into it then display the notes to play in game for thousands of songs and since it will overlay the sheet music will be in front of you while you are playing.

note you do have to install Overwolf and then you can download the app though the appstore.

Here is a new idea to slap on mounts based on speed as the motivator.

The way it would work is that the mounts would get an incredible speed boost of 100% and if you get near or are riding with another person on a mount you would slow down to 20% and if you get near another you would slow down another 15% and so on. Anything more than 5 man party would actually make you go slower mounted than walking on foot. A five man party would give 25% speed as long as they stay together, once they split they would again gain speed buffs based on how many was riding together.
The only way you could get this mount would be to have a Gift of Exploration(so at least one toon would have to have 100% map so no cheating on map completion on your first toon. On the other hand once its made it would be account bound and alts could use it to map) one of the gem store mounts like the broom or flying carpet, 250 of the speed boosters from the gem store and one other ingredient like for instance 100 Laurels or 250 Mystic Coins. I am not sure that this should be the actual recipe to upgrade the mount in the Mystic Forge, just laying down some ideas as a place holder.

This idea is based on the fact that the meta-Zerg mentality would not work with these speed buffs that you get from the upgraded mounts. Giving people a reason to run smaller groups to take advantage of the buffs.

how about they allow us to save build templates complete with armor and weapon layouts so that “out of combat” you can load your tanky template and all the changes to traits/armor/weapons/accessories happen instantly when you click the ok button. Then as simple as that you can reload back into a damage build after that fight is over once out of combat.

gem store tools - one for each toon

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Gummy.4278

Yes in another thread I suggested a new tab be added to the hero panel labeled Tools and it would work much like Finishers. Once you unlock a tool, for this example lets say Log-R-Tron each toon could access the tools tab and select that as the tool to use when chopping down a tree, If say you also bought Chop It All Logging Axe another toon could use that instead it would all come down to the toons preference.

This would also include things like the Copper Fed Salvage-O-Matic. And on that note, I think adding a new function to the Inventory Options gear button, if you have a Salvage-O-Matic equipped on your toon in the tools tab you can also click this button and the new option would read Salvage “rarity” with the rarity being selectable from white all the the way to epic and that means you select each one in a drop down list and add a check to all that apply. Once you have your rarity’s selected you could click the gear button and then choose Salvage All.

This makes too much sense.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was going for. Yeah like I said, I find it funny that wardrobe, dyes, outfits, minis, and finishers all get to be used all across the account and the tool items do not, yet they come account bound. Why didn’t they get this upgrade in the Hero panel, cause its a complete money grab.

Money yes is the only reason they should not, but this really seems to make this pay-to-win….See my idea about emoticons is not PtW, it does not help or give you an advantage over other players that paid for primers does even if only slightly. I think my idea is win win, without PtW. They give us a useful way to have Con’s easily available and add a /emote bar at the same time with a gem store purchase of an additional emoticon pack. I see no reason that should stop people from using primers just the same.

The more likely method of implementing extra emotes would be the way they already do it with the dance book. Get item, use item, changes your skill bar.

You’d have to convince them of a good reason why they should implement something like a special bar when they’ve already got a system in place that could be simply tweaked rather than written from scratch.

Its funny you should bring up that, I see no reason to disagree with you on the How to dance Volume 1 being a part of the emote system. Except one thing, I want to note the bar I am talking about would allow all the current emotes to have a emoticon and you could set your favorites on any number in the bar allowing fast access to the ones you use the most. The addition of new books, guess where they would go…..that’s right, in the Consumable bar that I am already talking about.
The only thing that I would suggest is that they change the functionality of the books a small bit so that it adds the new emoticons into the list where you can add your favorite dance move into the bar without opening the book every time you want to dance. The books would work the same otherwise and the function of using the Invitation to dance would still require opening the book not just using the emoticon that you placed on the /emote bar.

As far as convincing Anet of a good reason. Well I am gonna say that QoL is already good reason for them, as it keeps players happy. Without continual improvements to the game some people easily loose interest. Its in their best interest to keep us playing and paying for new gem store stuff. My idea has both of those elements, sure they have to give us one thing for free but new books with new emoticons coming out would get more money for them.

One of the main purposes (from my view) of the Metabolic Primer (and utility one) is so that you can set it and forget it for the people who forget to keep reapplying foods.

This would defeat one of the major purposes of that item, cutting into profits.

I don’t see it happening.

There are more consumables than just food and utilities ….like for instance Siege bundles and also I want a /emote bar which as it stands now is able to be expandable, Anet could very well add an /emote pack or in this instance if it was added as per my outline(see above) it would be emoticons which they could then add to the gem store.

I’m aware.

That doesn’t change the fact that it would defeat one of the major purposes behind purchasing the Primers (the other being saving money on foods, but there’s few foods that are expensive enough to warrant buying gems for a primer instead of more of the food).

Also let me point out that my idea does not incorporate a bar that stays on the screen and is visible at all times. You would have to hold down the assigned button to make the skill bar switch to the con’s bar and upon releasing the button it goes back to skills. So using the timer count down feature that you can use on skills showing the button grayed out til its ready to use again would not apply. So really it would work just like it does now but with added convenience of not going back into your bags which what it is all about for me. Its not gonna help the person who just does not want to look and or keep up with his buffs, which info stays on the screen til it runs out.

guys, seriously. stop with these posts already. anet need to focus their development time on making ACTUAL content, not all this “enhancement” nonsense.

You have no idea how Anet handles the production and development of said content. They have people who’s job is doing certain aspects of the game like QoL enhancements while someone else would be PvP while another is Skills and maybe another is Traits and then there is the Story guys and gals.
So in that respect since I do not want one of these guys just standing around doing nothing(loosing their job), I think its best that us guys continue making more and more posts about all the things we all want worked on, no matter what dept. will work on it. So your request is denied.

This is a very helpful post, Lishtenbird. Naturally, given the pros and cons of any subject is difficult; in fact it may be impossible given that of 1,000 forum members, 994.2 have different opinions on the same subject. Nonetheless, I think you’ve made a great start, and I commend you both for your energy and for the thoughtfulness that prompted you to start this thread.

Those who feel differently about a specific area of player interest are welcome to present their thoughts in this thread. But the objective would be — in my mind’s eye at least — to be objective, to be as neutral and unbiased as possible.

The dev team can derive the most benefit from this thread (and from pretty much any compilation thread) when they can review a calm, concise, equal-minded presentation of the opinions of our players.

Thank you again!

Oh I am glad you said this, Now allow us “the non devs” the ability to up vote topics and have them sticky’d. So these highly debated topics will always have a place at the top of the pile. Where they can be seen, so the opening of new threads with the same topic will not be the topic of discussion in the new thread. You know like when someone comes up with a new idea on eg: mounts and would like to share the idea or opinion, but as soon as they do the opposing faction ridicule him for not searching the forum, even if this person is new to the forums or when the idea they have is something never seen before.

But I do not agree with the later statement about the Dev’s benefiting from looking at a compilation to make the best decisions(well you actually would benefit from not have to read everything, but we the gamer would benefit the least). What if there are multiply threads which is a major problem here, if the dev’s only concentrate on looking to the compilations they might miss something in one of those threads as well as the OP. Also the OP of the compilation might not update his thread with every source and or might just stop updating info all together.

There are four different account bonuses found on the Achievements tab of the hero panel. Currently MF is the only one that is allowed for the player to increase exponentially though the salvage system.

1. Gold Find
2. Karma Gain
3. XP Gain
4. Magic Find

If I had to choose for another in that list to replace MF at max, then I would choose Gold Find.
