Nope just punishing. You already had your chance to dodge the tether. Now your options are to break it or stab it which is pretty forgiving. Skills that bind will hit anyways to promote good gameplay. You don’t get 2 chances to dodge the same skill. If you fail you counterplay it or accept it.

Tempest is one of the best classes this season, however some trolls will always insist that their class is the weakest. I’m tired of seeing these threads from this guy.

When I say Id just los it down, it usually takes me max 15s to put down a necro. Most of which I’ll still be on point. Usually faster since I spec to take out the necro so my team can get on with killing the attrition bunkers and get the score rolling. It’s not bad it’s just the nature of the class to not be able to defend against duelist pressure.
There was an ele duo out tonight think he was with a warrior. This is if you’re in t3 gold- t1 plat ish range, you might have crossed them. The ele would just spam his /t and trash talk the team if anything went wrong.
Some ventari buffs would be interesting to see. Ventari/mallyx power healer would be funny.
If not just junk it or forge it no biggie.

If being on holiday means a server now has less population, shouldn’t they lose their full status?
I don’t think anet ever disambiguated what defines a full server. Whether inactive pve players are counter, joes who log in to wvw once a month, or only semi decent players who log 2x a week for a little while.
I think when counters were introduced to counters is when the game went wrong.
Take unblockable, a recently added mechanic.
Blocks are the counter to burst damage.
→
Unblockable counters the counter bringing burst damage back to the meta.
→
Result blocks are balance to be longer lasting + cover more area/ team members.
→ Higher damage bursts are added to offset this.
The same cycle can be said of a lot of the ‘counters to the counter’ mechanics added to the game lately. Condi clear is the way to counter condi’s. Resistance now hard counters condis when a counter already existed. Now condis are more powerful since it exists. Even alactriy or cooldown resets can become offenders since the counter to skillspam gameplay is cooldowns. Use it well or be punished. Now cd’s can be reset or greatly reduced, now leading to skillspam metas.

Just going to break it to you we’re also really tired of seeing these threads.
1) What did you actually contribute posting this without any relevant ideas or balance changes.
2) Pvp balance is locked in till the end of the season most likely so theres not much point complaining.
Play heavier dps in low tiers. I broke out of silver with a core burn guard with guardian runes. Assuming you are the better player and can kite/avoid stuns you will be dropping their entire team in one go. Packing a dps spec at low tiers means you can just run between home and mid nuking and they won’t be able to respawn fast enough to kill your bad teammates.
And you will need to fix before moving up. Once your win rate is sub 50 you won’t move up. I started t1 silver but never dropped below 70% win rate till plat to maintain forward progression.
This is like the stray cat at the animal shelter declaring himself king of the culdesac.

I still get +10-15 a win at t3 gold and -4 or -5 a loss at t3 gold. And I know the teams I lose to outskilled me, but that happens when there are less players above your rating. Even saw a -1 once when qued against 2 esl duos. Had 1 esl guy on my team so the other 3 must have been pure scrubs to merit a -1.
I wouldn’t let that build melee me. It’s good but I would just los kill it from outside his max melee.
Soon we will need a wallet for ‘eater’ class items that consume junk. I took them all and threw them out princess etc since I stopped caring about their mediocre drops and my gold supply is fine.
Well I move forwards when I quit assuming the matcher is out to get me. Just go at every game like you’re going to win and act like your team can do it too. Biggest rule of pvp, wvw also, is to not let your opponent believe they can win.
Yeah I pushed into t2 plat once and got a few games with esl player blowouts 66-500 etc. Been letting my rating decay over the holidays back at t3 gold, but I know I can push back into plat regardless of who the matcher throws me with. Why? Because fluke matches happen but they are a minority not a majority. If I start seeing them as a majority it’s time to look at my gameplay.

70% source? I see stacked necs/eles/engis in gold the same as stacked DH.
Alacrity? The aa chain is the best dps since casting mb requires canceling usually. 3/4/5 don’t really do damage so they aren’t used. So alacrity would be best on another party member ie ele.
Yall really making me want to tank my rating to bronze so I can go pubstomping again. But I won’t since that would require throwing like 30 games so I’ll just wait till next season and tank placement.

Stability? Evade it? Don’t step in it? Block or invuln it also. Realize that by taking dragons maw that DH gave up an invuln and a block so you can basically nuke him out of existence?

Plat and up ToSS and I just hold their team at the bottom spawn until my teams caps the nodes and arrives later to assist if needed.
Even at t1 plat you will still get games with new players. So you don’t rage at them, you ask them to fulfill a task and back them up as best you can while taking care of your end. You aren’t insulated from low tier players you just have to make use of them as best you can. There’s really no problem breaking out of lower tiers of you don’t belong there.

Strictly speaking the OP never talked about tempest… Why bringing it on the table?
Beside, if looking closely at what’s said, it’s only “instantly refresh attunment”, Nowhere is it said that it refresh tempest overload (which is not an attunment and have a different cool down.) Anyway, whatever you do there will always be 5s before your overload is ready after you switch attunment. Chaining 2 time the same overload with a cool down of 40 second ain’t a big deal.
Honnestly I wouldn’t see any problem with this being introduced as an elite skill. I’m saying elite skill since we already got more than enough skill and incidentally some of our elite skill may be lacking. A signet with the active doing this effect would be pretty usefull without being overpowered at all and could open some new build possibilities without breaking the game in any fashion.
I think it’s a pretty good idea.
Im going to pretend I didn’t see the ‘not op’ line and remind you that there are trade off mechanics for every profession. If you leave and attune meant early you lose those skills. This would only promote skill spamming.

I like checking people’s ratings who talk big on the forums. Seeing people calling for nerfs who are 15w 25l in t1 silver reassures me that such players shouldn’t be listened to.
I think a lot of this discussion isn’t taking into account the fact that DH/Guard has the lowest base health pool in the game. I’m not going to deny DH is powerful right now, and they probably need a couple things looked at, but DH falls really, really fast once you break their defenses. Low base HP also severely limits the choice a DH has for amulets as you’re pretty much forced to take vitality somewhere, meaning you can’t have as many other stats as some classes. There ARE drawbacks to playing DH.
That being said, I’d say traps could maybe use an increase in cast time to start, so it’s not as easy to nuke players with them offensively. I think their power is fine, but they’re a bit too easy to spam currently. I also agree class-stacking is a problem and needs to be addressed, it’s not fun playing a match with 7 DH between 2 teams.
That is a lie. Ele and thieves have same HP pool and they go down way faster than DH. I don’t see them covering entire point in stackable persistent aoe doing backstab damage with secondary utility.
Uhh eles are the last to go in a fight so that is a lie. And if your team lacks a class to counter the ele he can run around 3v1 for quite some time before someone lands a kill.
For healing they’re either running valor or virtues. If they have valor they have no f3 stab so you’re free to interrupt the heal. They will heal 4.3k from smite trait but the other 8k can be easily stopped. The only way they have to burst heal past that is to burn smite and ji, which if they do you essentially can cc them and kill. If they have virtues they can secure the heal every other time but burn a lot of CDs to do so. And they lose the meditation heals so after a 40s fight the kill is open. A lot of even the best players don’t realize this and disengage when the fight is actually over for the guard if they pressured. You only need 5s to 100-0 a guard during this window which any dps spec can handle. However this window is about 12s long before I can start cycling CDs again so even an attrition class like scrapper (especially scrapper) can do a takedown before the window ends.
People like to say DH just free casts behind their blocks. Try free casting past gold and you’re asking to get shut down.
Also a good scrapper easily beats a good DH. The biggest failing of most players is their failure to interrupt purification which forces a full cd with only a 2k heal.

You’re complaining about one of the most useful downstate skills? If you’re down you’re probably either dead or a burden to your team if it happens too often. So get up and drop all your skills on the enemy team and die. I see no problem here you can time it and change the fight for your team and get a full rally.
You should note that most all guardian passives are nerfed versions of the original. Unlike a lot of other passives in the game.
^ Strong plat builds are stronger in bronze. People getting pubstomped in bronze tier is natural selection.

Pvp doesn’t balance around bronze tier for obvious reasons.
But more to the point an ele will never engage 1v1 for more than 30s. If your on a playing tier where professional shatter mesmers exist they won’t be allowed to target you anyways.

From the delays and still unfinished hot content I don’t think gw2 will be in active production much past the next expac if that ever happens. Sure a lot of die hards will stay for the next 8-10 years until the servers are closed, but we are already seeing the typical quarterly update pattern a company uses when they wish to start preparing a game for discontinued updates.
That’s why d3 went from a lowly rated mmo to one of the top going into 2016 post RoS.
Torch 5 is that way since guards can’t have a skill without a drawback or counter.

Ascended armour rate of acquisition has already increased exponentially over the last 6 months. If they really wanted to maintain the value you the tp items the creep wouldn’t have been introduced.
