Concerning the worthwhile healer part, Guardian healing suffers from 2 major problems:
I think the biggest problem with healer guardians in general is that they don’t have a weapon properly dedicated to healing. The staff kind of only goes half-way in that regard since 20% of it is dedicated to farming and 20% of it is dedicated to swiftness-botting. Another issue with it is that the guardian’s healing utilities are spread out across every skill category, so traiting isn’t made easy in that regard.
In PvP specifically, I feel like the biggest issue is the range limitation to some of their abilities. A full healer/support guardian doesn’t last long if they get caught out supporting their allies from 400-600 range.Spirit weapons being fixed would probably lead to a great condition build. The spirit weapon grandmaster trait is really good; it’s just too bad that spirit weapons themselves are so flawed.
Either way, If the leaks are anything to go by, guardians will be getting a condition cancer elite spec by the next expansion. Not that I’m excited at all for that.
Anything but the ridiculously name dragonhunter spec will be fine. Make it a condiboat just don’t make it roflhunter.

You can CC and block a warrior all you want – they’re still gonna regen 1000 hp/s.
Adrenal Health requires the F1 skill to successfully hit a target. So blinding/blocking/evading the F1s result in no adrenal health for the warrior.
With fast hands you can burst an insane amount of times. Its almost impossible to not land one of them considering theyre massive aoes and mace has a leap+interrupt.

I think DH is in a decent spot right now. The damage is very decent, they’re very survivable and can still bring the few worthwhile support skills the core guardian brought. It’s exactly as advertised pre-hot, a selfish dps spec.
For the future I just hope new e-specs will fill in a new niche. 3 things come to mind: Offensive support (like warrior, rev), A worthwhile healer (not completely outmatched by druid and their grace of the land) and an actual condi build. I don’t rly care which one they’re going for as long as it continues to have a decent meta spot.
As for what I believe needs a change asap: The greatsword. For the longest time the GS was THE dps weapon. The burst was amazingly good and combined with a second set for CD down time guardian had an actual rotation and decent dmg. However the HoT powercreep combined with long fights made it rather insignificant. Since it’s still my favourite weapon and I feel the class would be more interesting to play if it wasn’t just symbol spam and aa-ing I’d love to see a cd reduction on it. A 16sec cd (traited) on the symbol just isn’t viable anymore.
Pre-hot adverts also said that they would gain much needed movement speed and mobility. Instead they got a rooted true shot and rooted lb 5, and the only class without 25% movement speed. And no new sources of swiftness.
That’s why you play a dps build and stomp harder. Bunker tempests carry higher tiers; dps carries lower tiers.
Broke plat again; crapload of eles at least 3 every game. Annoying as hell. Going to bust out the power warrior and start locking them to hell.

This is like your 10th post of “ele sucks plz buff, nerf others” when it obviously is very strong this season. Like one of the best classes to carry with at high tier.
I find t3 gold much harder than t1 gold. Still winning around 70% rate, been in plat a couple times. Then dropped to t1 gold again since I stopped carin. And qued with a bronze dude for lolz.
Jeff was talking about this on the stream, warrior has very few counters. Apparently power warrior is very good at high tiers not sure though.
I find eles actually are the worst. They run away until they eventually win then like to act pro.
Soon we’ll need to keep 20 eaters in our inv. A new one was just introduced to take care of useless pvp tokens. When I saw this I went and threw them all out.

The problem is the pull into traps. That’s ~14k Damage without the DH using his Longbow – or one bad dodge is most likely your end.
That combined with a lot of blocks and you have a low skill based gameplay.
Where’d you get 14k damage from? Are you sitting in a trap after the pull? Because the only trap most have is ToF and that’s still only around 4-5k tops. I think you took this number because it sounds big but unless you can back it up with math or kitten it’s invalid. Even if he stacked 25 might and put 25 vuln on you…. Not getting your glorious 14k. Oh and since you got pulled in the trap was not already active. Meaning the first hit is 30% weaker than crossing the border soooo………….. Dodge out because that really didn’t hurt?

I left the weapon sets open as you need to change them depending on the matchup. There’s no way in hell I would take the stab on on kb trait without a lb equipped for the game. Shield is the only mainstay. Stab is for the most part lazy gameplay. If your getting ccd to hell you need to start watching casts more.
Or are you the type to still religiously camp lb vs a team of eles and engis? Hint: you’ll drag your team down and probably kill some of them getting true shot reflected.

Anet put a cast time on DH virtues so that they can’t be used while stunned and can’t be activated while casting something else. Core virtues are instant because their active effect is so weak that it’s a non-issue.

This skill used to be 1/4 sec and almost no animation.
Now its 3/4 sec with a good animation.

also to mention is that DH cant run zerker cause guards have one of the lowest healthpool ingame, so marauder is the way to go
they also run the trait with smite conditions on heal so its an extra 1,9k heal for them
not to mention like engi presses one healing turret and gets half his HP back plus having perma regen or druid can insta full heal on astral form
imo its a really good balance between all classes at the moment; well rev is a bit underpowered but that doenst belong here

You know what’s the best way to fix Matchmaking in Gw2 PvP? You remove Solo queue and have it as it was designed around 5v5 Team Queue, since that what the entire system was designed around. It would take very minimal effort on Anets part to implement and would cull all the QQ about horrible Matchmaking, now tie that to completely visible Skill Rating after matches and boom all problems solved. The big flaw with player created “variations” is they have no basis to run off of besides what they feel would work or benefit them the most. While most Games use elo/Glicko variants for Matchmaking and guess what so do most professional sports leagues. Want to know what all of those have in common? They are based upon static/semi static groups for their actual raked/competitive leagues. But yeah it has no basis that it works..
And you are left with only a few players in the system, who only team que at their uptime, never meeting most other teams. Most players wont bother to form a duo que much less a 5 man team. People will still qq about their team mates. And 5v5s will continually get the same matchups vs the same teams since there will be so few teams playing at their skill level. Gold would be empty and only bronze or plat would be worth playing.
DH still has the highest sustain with a DPS amulet.
Fact checking. Lets assume marauders amulet. A DH has 17245 hp, zerkers have 24812. So around 7.5k difference in hp. Warriors win that round easily. Don’t even drag zerkers into this. Menders isn’t a dps amulet in which case your claim would be correct.
Healing, warrior meta runs healing signet. This is 382 passive healing/s or 2.2k active heal. DH runs purification which is 1608-6408 with a 4s longer cd traited. Over 24s the signet will heal 9168 hp so I would call this even but signet can hard counter a condi burst with resistance. So take what you will. Purification gives 10s of regen but your team will be supplying that anyways so you should be capped. DH have f2 which is around 3.9k so we can call this a tie.
Healing traits. Meditation are 1.9k heal each. DH will run usually 3 medis so 5.7k possible burst healing but 1.9k of that is behind a 90s cd and most DH do not run virtues to reduce the cd. The take honor instead for larger symbols and healing from them. This is 180/s but you can perma maintain a symbol and these are to be placed on enemys not you. If you are in it assume you are being cleaved. So lets say you are in it half time it comes to around 700 hp over 10s. Now we come to adrenal health. This 2475 hp over 15s per stack. You can maintain 3 stacks at all time so 7.5k long before any medi has recharged. Warriors win this hands down.
Defenses. Getting long so ill list them.
DH: 2x f3 limited block (8s block total, can be interrupt and shut down), RF 3s invuln (condis will kill you). Shield 5 destruct, small heal.
Warrior: 2x EP (condis will kill you)(12s total, no interrupt); shield block(3s); mace 2 block. Really I see these are equally matched expect dh loses out in pressured situations due to unblockables, interrupts, and the forward facing only shield.
Don’t use third party as it nullifies your support access if you get compromised.
I’ll just say they were fine 2 cycles ago. Now not so much since other classes have been nerfed hard whilst warriors have been immune to any kind of balance change.
You can play nuke builds because you know you won’t be focused at the first team fight. They’ll go for the necro thinking you’ll support him. So nuke away and they die first.

No. Just give them a trait that rewards them for breaking stuns. Active play not throwing yourself into crap. Like warrior 3k heal on stunbreak. Just make it a 1s block every time you break stun.
It’s perfectly possible to become a platinum player in a season. There’s not absurdly much to learn about the game. No insane combos or jukes like some games. Most won’t but a skilled person with prior conquest exp could achieve it.
I want to see 8v8 but on larger maps. I quit playing ranked to play snowball pvp. The large map is great and prevents aoe clutter. Anet need to get over the capture point circle and make more event style pvp. (Although I hate spirit watch, orbs and circles don’t mix.)

If you use JI and then SoB it will fail to go off. However if you cast SoB and then just after hit JI it will carry the full 1800 range and lay down the symbol. As for the change symbol of blades didn’t exist until a recent skill revamp. It can occasionally fail if you change targets and use it while still facing your old target, or if you lose lock.

Condi chrono wins that fight. They’ll run out of clears fast since they are mostly bulk clears not small consistent removal. Takes about 20s pressure but then they drop.

By the way I recently noticed.. even if you gain distance from the chain.. If it instantly hits and pulls you there’s no such thing… this could be countered by a delay between throw and pull.
You can’t pull mistform. Nor can you tether to mistform. And there is a delay during the pull animation, but most people tend to not even notice until they’re dead. Once you hit plat level play you will see people escape it all the time.
If I had to cry op about anything on warrior it would be Bloody Roar/Arc Divider.
If I had to nerf anything it would be the 2 passive stance traits.
They should be reduced versions of the original. Guard/DH passives are both higher cd and lesser effect than the original skills.

if a thief gets hit by the f1, thats his insta death cause he gets pulled into traps and into longbow ground attacks
every attack in this game should be dodgeable, otherwise other classes will have an automatic disadvantage (speaking in general)

Every attack in this game is dodgeable. You had the chance to dodge it. You failed. Any good thief can range break it easily. What you want is a second chance that holds your hand promoting bad gameplay.

Maybe try bringing something to the table other than salt/QQ. Can you 100% dodge any skill at all in the game? No. So I assume you are saying the skill should land and then the game will auto proc a dodge for you. You’re going to get hit by skills sometimes. That’s gameplay. Don’t like it? Don’t play it.
Nope but a competitive day once a week wouldn’t hurt. Prizes etc large enough that everyone feels rewarded even losing. Can also be issued to anyone who reaches a participation level in wvw that week even if they miss the competition day.
