Yeah, I was eating something (really starving) and thinking about that. We were not taking the rest of PvE into account
True but most sellers only run it once per day. If they had just run in a normal group the same amount of gold would of been generated.
Also the waiting around for buyers prevents us from generating gold from other dungeons during that time.
Now you have a good point. If they run with a normal group, the total money is equaly distributed. But if you give someone money, even though the generated money is still equaly distributed, total money isnt because now someone has more money than another person
You got to the important part now. Even though sellers have more money, the same seller doesn’t do that frequently, so the amount of money he gets is somehow limited. They are not capable of ruining the economy now. That may take months, or years.
And if players wait for sellers, they aren’t generating gold either, so there’s less money in the world. Keep buying runs and you will get close to a society where a small group has a lot of money and they control prices, while most people just work hard to buy stuff
The guard refused to swap to melee , constantly died and ended up causing the party to wipe. So I left the party (was instance owner), called the guardian a kitten for not meleeing a simple fight and he messaged me this.
Hum… if he couldn’t stay alive ranged, it was best to leave him dead. Not meleeing doesn’t seem to be the problem, but dying constatly is
Saying bad things to him was wrong imo, you should avoid any kind of contact with that kind of player
No, you’re not a scumbad because of that
It doesnt really ruin the economy because the gold earned is taken from buyers. Its just changing hands.
Close, finishing a path generates more gold. So the seller gets gold from the buyer and gold from completing the run, the buyer also “earns” some gold
So 5g, for example, already existed, and went from the buyer to the seller. But 15 gold was generated from dungeon run (3g reward in this case)
Buyers lose money, and sellers concentrate more in their hands
Tested Basilisk venom with many skills. Using it and dazing your target removes the elite skill effect, and only daze is applied
Just a few days ago, found a party for HotW p1, and then we did p3 as well and CoF p2
Everything went so smooth, no wipes, and hardly someone got downed
If you attack something while being stealthed, u get revealed. Simple thief mechanics. Thats how it allways worked. You never played a thief before, or you just trolling.
You are the one trolling. Out of range with melee weapons. I asked a legit question and you come here trolling.
He’s not trolling. You didn’t say that you were out of range with melee weapons, we can’t guess that. You can’t get revealed if you didn’t hit something, only if you leave SR before it ends
Btw, weapon ranges are not correct. You can hit other things even when a bit out of range.
The idea sounds good, but I could go to a starter area, Queensdale for example, go to troll cave and kill the lots of grubs there. So now every other mob family has idk, 20-30% MF, and then move to another starter area and repeat until I cap MF for other families
I’d like to see a chat message when someone joins my party. Sometimes it gets full and I don’t realize that
A guy got knocked out of the plataform by those heads in the wall, and the hammer was literally flying. We could not get it, and had to wipe so it could appear next to the checkpoint.
Even though I don’t have the screenshot, I reported the bug
Your post makes no sense because you don’t have a reason to do something against people exploting Arah. Saying “hey, ban him cause he’s exploiting” isn’t enough
On the other hand, if you said that this is an easy and fast way to get a lot of gold and that may ruin economy, then you would have a point and we could discuss what to do
“Here’s what we believe: If someone wants to play for a thousand hours to get an item that is so rare that other players can’t realistically acquire it, that rare item should be differentiated by its visual appearance and rarity alone, not by being more powerful than everything else in the game. Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games — we leave the grind to other MMOs.”- Mike O’Brien
Nice, I got 1k hours already, and my “differentiated by its visual appearance” item is a shining AC dagger
So what if you find that you are “that guy”. Is Guild Wars 2 a much more difficult MMO than the others? Or am I at the end of my hobby?
Yes, GW2 is harder than any other MMO you said up there. But here’s a tip: dodge
Yeah, dodge. Press V, roll to the sides, keep moving. This isn’t WoW, you have to keep moving, you have to dodge
They should cost gems. How about grinding a real job for a month to pay for armor skins?
Selling spots is allowed, but they’d stop doing so if people quit paying for easy rewards
I think this system let you have a toon for a specific stuff. “This one is better to kill guards, and this is to break walls/gates”
But you have a point. The system could work better if toons shared the same wvw level, and got a point when you level up. So you can still have toons that are better at something and get rewarded for playing
edit: you can guest to do guild missions with the rest of the guild
Guild Trek marks won’t appear. The wiki says “It cannot be seen by guild members that are guesting from another server.” :/
I was playing on Devona’s Rest and transfered to Tarnished Coast some weeks ago (missed the sale :/ ), and I realized that there are no guild upgrades, and I can’t do guild treks with my guild, nor see the bank (because of the upgrade)
So is that it? I and other players are punished for transfering to new servers?
How about a filter that uses the number of times that player has run the dungeon you advertised your party?
I mean, of course you can still find bad players, people that were carried by guild mates or ones who payed to finish it; but it reduces the chance of getting inexperienced players, if that’s what you want to avoid
Because every class brings a different kind of utility for the team, being it damage, boons, heals?
I mean, why play guardian if you can go thief?
Enemies chasing you? Stealth
Enemies hitting you? Dodge forever or Stealth
Enemies fleeing? Stealth and backstab
Ally needing help? Stealth and help (kitten man, don’t stealth your mate and stare at him until he gets up; give him a hand)
This topic makes no sense and just wants to create chaos here
No idea what you mean by “bonuses”, but the buffs you get from food, for example, does not “lose” time until you play that specific toon again
They could also improve the squad system. A lot of people have no idea that the squad chat exists, and everyone uses map or team chat in WvW
It could become a raid system, hp bars flashing when someone’s in combat, distance from that person. Make it more organized
- The main difference between a warrior and the thief is their armor type. Warriors wears heavy armor while thieves wear medium.
- It seems that you are playing like a warrior when playing with your thief. You need to keep in mind your position and survivability. You need to dodge and evade all the time.
2. Are there any useful traits to help stay alive that I might be missing?
Thanks
Depending on your build, which I don’t know, I think stealth and stealth related traits will be good for you. Shadow Arts has a lot of survivability related traits.
lol, wait there. Thieves have only 10k base hp at lvl 80, while warriors have 20k. Defense is the main difference, not only the kind of armor they use
So what is “defense” exactly? Where does the “defense” number used to calculate armor comes from?
Oh, sorry, theres a stats called “defense”, so that got messed up. Defense means hp pool, armor, and damage avoid mechanics like block and dodge and going invulnerable and cond removal for this game
Thats it. Warriors have more base hp and armor, they have blocks. The rest both classes have. The kind of armor is part of “armor” lol
The problem is that it’ll take months of work to make an expansion, that means no more new content or a lot less new content AND we have to pay for it
They already get a lot of money from black lion new items every new release and we get new stuff for free. No need for expansion
The specific problem is player skill. Being good at doing Arah is easy, you can study it and watch videos, understand what to do and go for it.
On the other hand, dodging, utility skills and traits are game changing things. I personally don’t care if you have never done arah before, but if you keep dying during lupicus fight, you should go do easier stuff and l2p
I’d like to point out another problem: the oil AoE have a red circle to mark where they are, but sometimes they don’t appear. Could that be checked?

I agree with your point here. Thief is more dynamic, you have to run a lot and dodge, go stealth helps too
Valkyrie is really good because of the power/vit combination, and has extra crit damage. Put some points in Shadow Arts or Acrobatics for extra defense (if you like group playing, I strongly suggest Shadow Arts)
It really doesnt bother me if someone wants to run a dungeon with an alt to level it. It’s alright, we get downscaled anyway and that 90 extra stat from lvl 80 gear gets downscaled as well
I like to see:
- Whisper option on right click menu in case some one has some questions to ask before joining.
- Left filter panel should not expand as the window’s size changes. The filter panel’s width should be fixed and only right panel’s width where parties are listed should expand.
- Little LFG icon on top left screen like other icons.
Dont forget a chat warning when someone joins your party
This small minority with all the purchasing power becomes essentially the guiding force behind all the decisions Arenanet makes after the initial launch.
They are the reason PvP hasn’t had an update in 3 months, the reason Ascended weapons were added, and the reason why the only new armor we see being added to the game is gem shop.
I think you have a point, but the problem is “small minority”. If ANet doesn’t “care” for the majority that doesn’t spend real money that often, people will stop playing and they will only have people willing to spend money, and those will also stop playing because of the lack of people
We have new PvE stuff every two weeks, a huge change now and the next is WvW changes /repeat
PvP has no love sadly
Paying to transfer sure is ok. “My server is losing the WvW, let’s just transfer and get free stuff”, even though it’s limited to a transfer per week, that would unbalance things
TC, JQ and Blackgate have a lot of people. Transfered today to TC and there are people everywhere I go. Feeling happy now
If they are to remove fractals and add new ones, I think Uncategorized and Aquatic Ruins are on the top of the list.
The former is a bit buggy, harpies going invulnerable, or you get knocked to death and goes back to where you shouldn’t be, or wiping at Old Tom and it creates a barrier that won’t let you go inside until… idk, until it want to open lol
Underwater is just idiot. There’s no love for underwater combat, and that makes it not good
To run dungeons without the great grandmaster traits and extra points they give, I recommend having power and vitality. Precision won’t make much difference now, nor will crit damage
Sword is a great option for everything: strong auto-attack, cleave, shadowstep with cond remover. Offhand dagger is a bit weak, so S/P as everyone suggested
And Shortbow for ranged. Versatile weapon, why not have it?
You have better mobility, and they only have melee weapons. Figure the rest yourself now
Thats a nice idea, and depending on the winner, things could change in a certain place of the world: dark skies, more of a kind of monster, contested waypoints, even snow or rain
Started playing and chose Devona’s Rest. Things were going ok actually, there was a lot of people around
But what frustrated me more than see my server down there in the rankings is that people are leaving my guild to go to another servers
I find myself alone almost everywhere excluding Queensdale and LA :/
Wish ANet gave us some more love, the server is dying and I will probably transfer if nothing happens in the next months
I think that salvage ascended rings is a great suggestion. Sometimes you get a ring you already have, or you don’t need, and there’s nothing to do with it. Selling price is super low :/
Mist essenses are used for that, infusing. I can’t think of another use for those since they aren’t easy to drop
Pristine relics are the most useless items ever. There should be more interesting options to spend them
Did you know that some events actually help you completing those heart quests?
There are some that you have to kill centaurs, and guess what, they are attacking a nearby camp. You do the event and get the heart
I think they are really good. I mean, it’s a change of pace – “do your stuff here the way you want and get rewarded”. Do I want to kill monsters now, or just pick up some medicine for those warriors? Or maybe just res the dead, clear some rocks outta the way, light torches?
This is what I understood from what you wrote: “I dislike chocolate, so stop making it”. Try making it better. You already started it badly with such title. Give an idea to improve the system.
“I don’t like killing monsters, or getting items, or lighting torches. I think that if I could do suggestion, it’d make the game more enjoyable”
See? You don’t have to remove what the others like, but you are making it even better for everyone
TA story last boss is a bit hard. I mean, if you dont kill the right enemies and stop the boss from summoning the spirit again, you’ll wipe
Theres another fight, I think it’s TA F/U. A mesmer boss. Not really really hard, but she’s SO ANNOYING
But a lot of lfg on gw2lfg are looking for lvl 80 people only. thats not a valid argument
And I can’t say much about the LFG tool. I hardly find parties, and the ones I found were pretty much “normal”. Some were so great that we runned lots of dungeons together, others were not that great, but we finished the run without problems
I found new people too, but at least they asked for tips
Wait there, you bought two celestial rings, the kind of item that gives you every stat possible, JUST because of the magic find?
lol, LOL. Man, I have bad news, but you are either naive or an idiot, no offense
The magic find update was a correction of a broken system (or an attempt). Getting MF was a huge waste of stats, effort and time
Dusk
Some hours after the Crown Pavilion was released (got it there killing a boss)
About 800 hours
That sucks so much. Played a lot, getting a precursor is still totally luck based, and I got one I don’t want – it’d be nice to have Twilight, but it’s not enough to make me complete the map lol – gave it to a friend
I had problems fighting Guardians. What I did? Went to the forums and QQ’d I mean, created a Guardian and learned its tatics. Bye bye problems
EDIT: Thats true btw, fighting mesmers got way easier too after I created one
It took a really long time to make this change, but it was something I expected since they reworked it
On the other hand, it costs too much initiative. You have to use Flanking Strike anyway to use Larcenous Strike, and that costs 5 initiative.
FS is ok: free evade, hits the enemy twice and cleaves
LS damage is not awesome, just normal; and steals one boon now. Thats 2 initiative for a normal attack
Suggestions:
- Higher damage. I disagree with that, it’s used mainly for the boon steal, so dealing a lot of damage and stealing boons would unbalance it
- 1 initiative. Best suggestion I’ve read and hope it becomes true
The interesting part of the story is being able to target the thief while he is stealthed. As you said, 30 points in SA will not be useless and players can still fight thieves
Everyone knows that getting a legendary weapon is a broken system. Why the hell you start a topic if you don’t have a good suggestion that can be worked into a solution?
I’m not really wanting to read through all of this, but I believe the issue is that most people won’t or don’t want to optimize their gear at level 35. It’s 1000 times easier to find a lvl 80 with at least full rare (most likely full exotic/ascended trinkets) than it is to find a lvl 35 with full rares. Most of them don’t even have at level masterwork.
I pretty much agree with this. Even though exotic stuff get downscale and the difference between equipment rarity stats drops a lot, having a bit more of this and that sure makes difference
Other things to consider are traits and utility skills. Some utilities are just situtional, but a low level toon may not have them because of the lack of skill points.
Traits are important. Each point gives +10 of the stats (power/prec/vit/toughness) and a grandmaster trait like “Executioner” (20% extra damage when target is below 50% hp) are…. well, I cant even say how this is important
THERE’S NO PROBLEM WITH NON 80s, you lose some dps, but that’s no big deal. Good player > Full-exotic-doesnt-know-how-to-dodge player
“All stacks will be lost if you are downed or if you enter a new area.”
No more to say. Just try and avoid fighting if you don’t have advantage/enemy is stronger aka L2P
There’s almost nothing interesting to buy with karma. The only things I’ve ever bought with it were exotic armor from temple, orrian boxes for rewards and cooking mats
