It serves like gold farm and lot of people think it is hurting economy.
It is hurting the economy
Well, I guess you are one of those bad dungeon runners I get PUGed sometimes. Only the bosses mechanics changed, so stop complaining if you cant kill the spider queen or get past the burrows
Even though you have to spend some money (either real or ingame, you can trade gold for gems), I suggest changing servers
There are areas that you won’t find people easily, especially 40-60 ones (at least on my server is like that). Others are full of people – Queensdale, Wayfarer Foothills, Cursed Shore
I’d suggest a nice server, but I play on NA :/
There’s not an easy way to fight it now. You can go ranged without aggroing the spiders behind the tree, but the ones in front of it wont stop respawning. ANet breaking dungeons, gj
I play as a Female Human Thief and never had problems. I could always use my utility skills, change them in both ghost form and charr form (ascalon fractal)
Did path 3 as Female Human Guardian and Female Norm Mesmer, no problems
The dungeon is really good to be honest. It requires coordination and player skill to beat some fights. The enemies are ok, not too strong or too weak.
But there are some things annoying me:
- The last wave of golems. They can block everything for 5 seconds, and it stacks – if it had a shield and a wall hits it again, another 5 seconds shield appear.
Somehow, that is one of the reasons why people will not PUG to do this dungeon.
My suggestions are: reduce the shield time to 3 seconds; or do not let the shield stack
- Mai Trin has a pistol attack that deal around 10k damage, and you can’t dodge it. I think you can block it with a shield or aegis, but not every class have access to that.
My suggestion: let players dodge it, or reduce the damage to 4-5k
- Kiel is staying behind. We were just following the normal way, not skipping things or taking alternative ways. Yet, Kiel would not move until someone get there and guide her. I think she is bugged, she should be following us the whole time
Some people usually does that. If the group stacks “correctly”, the spider wont throw poison fields. But imo, it doesn’t really make the fight easier, you can just be less careful
As they said, 15 points in Acrobatics is a must for survivability – Feline Grace is an excelent trait since it returns some of the endurance when you dodge
Shadow Arts is not a great thing. Imo, it’s really weak compared to the other trait lines, so I prefer spending my points in other lines.
Deadly Arts is gives you power and has some nice traits, especially if you like using venoms. Critical Strikes is probably a must, really strong trait line. Trickery has some ups and downs, but I like it, especially the Steal effects (boons when you use Steal)
Infusion of Shadow and Venomous Aura are the best traits in Shadow Arts, but I’d not spend 30 points to get the latter.
25/30/0/15/0 is a great spec, especially the 15 points in Acrobatics – Feline Grace is totally worth having
I think that most daggers are pretty idiot. Only a few are “omg, that’s so crazy, I want it”
I’d love to help you, but I play on NA server
Try gw2lfg.com, there you can find people to do dungeons with you (don’t forget to select Europe region btw, I think the default one is NA)
Not only change the color of the wings, but be able to dye back items as well
that already exists. hold Alt and click on the place where you want to mark
what if …
PvE monsters are able to dodge?
I’d never stop playing this game. Smart monsters
We don’t really need new dungeons, we need changes to the existing ones. There are many bugs and problems already, and new dungeons, temporary or not, are only there to make you not worried about how the existing ones are
No, I don’t think that would be a good idea. Tbh, you need all that leveling to learn how to play the class. Your suggestion is just like buy something to instantly hit lvl 80, and that is not the point of the game
Do you guys see more space for condi thieves with Bloodseeker ulti Torment?
“Enemies under Torment will take damage periodically; as they move, they’ll take even more damage”
New class: Bloodseeker
It’s the longest dungeon as nikaido said, and it is probably the hardest. Why is it so hard? Because you need coordination. A party of experienced players who can communicate efficiently can finish it in 2 hours, maybe less than that.
If you are pugging, good luck. A lot of people run it without knowing how to deal with some bosses, especially Lupicus and Dwayna, and that’s why you see so many people crying.
If your party can get on a voice chat, it’ll make things easier
Just never play tanky. Personal skill level and teamplay are far more important than gear and, to a certain extent, build. Even AR is overrated; if you can dodge you should be fine. Offense is the best defense.
I don’t want to offend you, but you won’t get past lvl 30 if you don’t get some AR
You can do it with any class. Jut stay inside the bubble and use stability, or go ranged and stay far from the boss (still inside the bubble), or dodge the attack
Any skills that can heal or give the npc regeneration is helpful
bump this. I finished the same path some weeks ago, didn’t receive any reward, and reported the bug.
Nothing has been said about it yet. Where’s ANet to say that they know about this problem and are working to fix it instead of creating new stories?
You have to upgrade it. The shining one is the highest level – better stats, infused and has infusion slot
Troll post reported. Get some arguments before coming here again. And your problem isn’t stealth, but backstab damage, try getting more defense/hp
“what’s the expected for pugs?”
I’d say that being friendly, patient, and know how to play the game is enough. Lvl 80 full exotic is just an extra, so is experience with the dungeon.
“Know how to play the game” means dodging, attacking, supporting, kiting. Things you can only learn playing
MFind gear doesn’t really bother me, but I’d expect the person to change it if we face a harder part
The lower level areas get boring after you hit higher levels (60+ I’d say).
What I like doing is finishing the area I start, and go to other regions. If you get a human, finish Queensdale, then go to Caledon Forest, Plains of Ashford, or other lvl 1-15 areas.
Afterwards, do the lvl 15-25 ones. If you think the game lacks challenge (you will be stronger than the monsters in a certain point), go to areas of your level
You get levels and complete the map at the same time.
WvW is harder though. I saw a group of players saying that PvE players were going to WvW to complete the map, and that was ruining their experience because of the overflow (I think that’s the name) – they couldn’t play because the area was full.
If you go to WvW, try to fight as well
You shouldn’t feel bad if a zerg ran over you. Imagine if a solo player killed you
That’s a lesson to learn, don’t trust random people.
Even if the person says he can craft an item for you if you give the materials, you should not send items to that person if you don’t know him/her. Ask a guildmate you trust to craft items for you, or level your crafting to make the item.
Mystic.5934 said he sold the cores. I’d not do that. Either you give the item to the person, or don’t do that. Imagine if the person gets the cores, blocks you and disappears.
I really wanted to help people around, but this world is corrupted
Take my upvote, excelent idea
Isn’t the squad the same thing?
Almost. You can’t see where the other squad members are, and there’s no easy interface (if there’s one) to check who’s in your squad (I’ve never seen it at least)
Thief by no mean is bad at PvE. We have great damage, I think it’s more consistent than warriors (they somehow depend on might); we have a trait that restores part of the used endurance, and that means more dodges = more survivability
You can use some traits so Steal will grant boons, venom sharing. Why having a thief is so bad? I can only see advantages
Some improvements to WvW, PvE changes with mindless events so casual players have something to do and pay for while ANet plan the next update
I don’t think that’s a problem. I mean, town clothes aren’t supposed to be used in combat, and that’s why they have such name
The problem is that we don’t have many options, and the ones that are available in the shop aren’t great, you don’t feel a need to buy them
Another thing they could add is “Do something each X seconds”, like Guardian’s signet or trait that heals a condition each 10 seconds. I have no idea when it’ll work
Why are you suggesting a change?
Pistol is meant to be a single-target weapon, and #2 deals damage and 5 stacks of vulnerability
I see no reason to change it
I generally pressed both V and space at the same time with my thumb
Again this post, and the answer is still no
It’s really hard to find a group to do it. There are some reasons for it:
- People say that it’s the longest and worst dungeon ever, and everyone is afraid of doing it
- There’s the possibility that you’ll be stuck in a certain fight after several hours
- Experienced players PUGed with bad players and won’t do it again
You don’t really need someone who has already done it to help you, but a party that can kill Lupicus and have coordination to kill Dwayna. But it’s not hard (long though, bosses have tons of hp :/ and those fights are so easy, why ANet?)
Not a bad idea. I don’ t think that we should just buy them with AP tho, how about 5k AP opening up a quest line
Wishful thinking ^^
I don’t really want to spend my APoints, I like big numbers
So I agree with this suggestion, 5k points = Quest for Precursor, or even for a Legendary
It’ll show that you really like the game, and are doing your best to say “Hey, I’m amazing, trust me”
And make pre/legendaries account bound
If I’m not mistaken, you get the achievement from not getting the “Burning” condition when you stand still on the floor (yes, it burns you)
I agree with that. It’s terrible to have those options there, and the possibility of accidentally choosing one of those options is not that small
Got mine doing Honor of the Waves. It’s an easy dungeon, the only problem is that the last bosses take ages to kill
Not a good idea. There are so many people and guilds in the game willing to do less popular dungeons. SE is easy, and the weapons look cool
If I’m not mistaken, the event chain starts at the same time on every server. I’ve tryed to guest on other servers to see if CoF was uncontested, but nothing. Had to do the event
And CoE one is really easy. Even though it takes time, you can almost solo it without problems (the champion is the problem)
If you stop and think a bit, you’ll realize that having some strategy is simply perfect. Let’s say you have a Guardian and a Necro. You PUG with people, and the party already have 3 light armor toons. It’s ok to go with your Necro, but having a Guardian would bring more utility and make the run smoother
You get tokens to use strategy, to think, not to play with a certain class
I miss that too. The only information is the “unknown” location, what means that the player has not been online for 4 days if I’m not mistaken. But that won’t say much, I could simply log in for some seconds, and the game would say that I played it – I’m not inactive
Another good addition would be a system that informs changes in the Message of the Day. A lot of people doesn’t read it, especially when it doesn’t change everyday. So if there’s a reminder or something alike to tell the guild members to pay attention to it, communication will be improved
The thing is that ANet is trying to add more PvE and endgame content, so people won’t stop playing
Does that work? Yes and no
- It’s always great on the release, but after players get the special items, they return to the normal routine, and that’s the reason why the Living Story events are temporary (and Super Adventure Box too)
- Fixing what is already there can mean adding new content. The AC changes weren’t that popular, there are still things to balance, but created a certain hype. The company RIOT realized this, instead of releasing new champions, they are reworking the old and unpopular ones, and everybody is loving that
Imo, fixing what we already have is top priority, and I’d stop playing GW2 if a clone appears (a good one, those F2P MMOs are getting terrible – pay to win, lots of grinding)
Great idea (that’s sarcasm, it’s a terrible idea), but you just disconsidered the fact that you won’t know how to play as the new class you choose
Leveling is REALLY REALLY easy, almost everything you do gives you exp, you can level doing things you like (WvW, gathering and crafting, fighting, exploring)
If you want to be a lvl 80 with free trait reset and lots of items, just create a new toon and go PvP
You just answered your own question
It’s useless. The exp is adjusted to your level, so doing either AC or Arah, he won’t get more than one level
