That’s why I always liked Guard. It’s the most balanced class in the game. Yes, it could do with some slight buffs to some builds. However for the most part it’s fine.

I finished it about two days ago. Biggest problem was the Dragonite Ore. Other then that it wasn’t that bad. I just saved all my gold, laurels, and mats before it came out. Now I’m working on Light of Dwayna.

I’m trying to figure out what you are going for. Your attack is very low, no amount of crit chance and crit dmg is going to help that. I’d honestly drop some vit and try to pick up some power and toughness.

I agree with the others, try sending Anet a ticket. They are pretty cool. They helped me out before. Like you said, never hurts to ask.

The leader board doesn’t matter anymore. Lot of high rankers drop down because of influx pvers come for achievements and ruin their rating. The only matter now is win the esport tournaments $, that is what good players at now.

There are still a lot of decent players playing Solo Q. I don’t blame anything on the influx of new people, this is a good thing actually. The good players will always rise to the top. I’m not going to lie I started off terrible after the mmr reset. Countless 4v5 and losses, and I dropped to around 30%. However I gave it awhile and let things settle down. Now I’m back in the top 50, and having better matches then before.

If anything new players are a good thing, getting more people interested in pvp. I’d like pvp to grow, not diminish.

The leaderboards are still very volatile atm. Also games played doesn’t have anything to do with it. It’s the quality of the wins, not the quantity. So if you’re beating people of higher rating, you’ll go up faster. Then playing a huge number of games, but beating people of less rating.

I have to agree TC is a great place to do temples and bosses, I always guest there for them. No matter what time of day, there are people doing them.

WvW zerg build?

It’s pretty decent in any situation. That’s one reason why I like it. It can zerg, solo, or roam. Just an all around gear set up.

Last time I checked, ranger runes are still bugged. So get the sixth and get a 5% dmg increase. Also 30 into Valor isn’t really optimal for PvE.

You can buy them on the trading post. I bought a total of 300, 100 at a time. I got both ascended back recipes and the unbreakable choir bell.

You can also get them for glory in pvp. 10 giant gifts for 200 glory. Quite cheap I got over 1000.

It’s a great heal to use with med a build. Without a med build then I agree it’s not that good. Also this isn’t like Shelter or SoR were u pop it at the last second, you have to know when to use it. If you use it at the right moment it’s very powerful.

I’m trying to understand exactly what you mean. When do you feel the right time is? Pre casting it before a fight seems to be adverse to its purpose, since pre casting it before engaging means you are at full hp.

Casting it while in battle is very risky, a one second casting time and then you have to make up all of that lost hp by landing blows. Preferably aoe, since single target damage doesn’t restore enough health.

What are your thoughts exactly?

I wouldn’t precast it since it still has about a base 4k heal with meds. It’s just like SoR, yes it’s risky to cast in a fight. However it pays off. This is one of those risk vs rewards things which is why I like it. If you do your burst correctly you’ll be rewarded, if you mess up or just get out played you’re punished.

People on this forum really need to play around with it some more before judging it so hastily. I can easily see this being the go to heal for a med build. It’s the lowest CD heal with some of the highest healing potential.

Celestial is fine. The problem is people go full celestial and that’s bad.

If you’re traited that deep into Vitures, you’re better off going shouts then meds. Also Sigil of Purity is terrible because it can proc even when you don’t have a condition on you.

I always que from PvE, and I have yet to have any of my legendaries effects carry over to PvP.

Everyone got terrible rewards! So who cares.

It would be cool. However the only classes that would really fit it would be Warrior and Necro.

There are leaked codes for PVP Legendary skins fyi which will show up as [PvP <name>]

The code wouldn’t have the sigil on it.

It isn’t useless, however the other off-hands are better. The only place the shield really shines is in pvp.

However if you want those stats, just mix gear. Berserker w/Sentinel, or you could go Knight w/Sentinel if you want toughness.

Sounds like a bug, also the sigil is pretty useless, since you can’t trigger when you want invulnerability.

They need to change it, so when you hit X amount of health it triggers.

I wish more of my games were like this.

I have, and this is the build that I came up with based on what I find are the most intriguing mechanics of the class, but I still don’t believe I have a massively larger understanding than what I already knew.

That’s fine for large fights in wvw, but in a 1v1 or small groups you’re not going to be able to kill anyone. However I think you know that.

Two things I would change. Runes of Dolyak are bad, it’s only an extra 30 hp, not worth using. Better going off getting solider, and having more condition removers. Or anything else tbh.

Shelter over SoR. The reason most people run Shelter because it mitigates a large amount of damage, and since you’re going full bunker. This would better suit you. SoR has a larger cd and is more prone to being interrupted.

You should probably want to check out the Healway build. Seems like that is what you’re looking for.

Also don’t use this build in PvE. PvE and PvP/WvW builds are completely different for guards.

From what I’ve seen of the livestream, it can be a very powerful heal if used right. Only problem is it’s easily countered. Any type of blind or block, will ruin it. Also if you get CC or anything like that. However I can’t wait to try it out. I like skills that you have to play smart with instead of just spamming everything.

I just want to say this was one of the best livestreams so far. It was very well made and informative.

It really just depends on your build and what you want to accomplish. Only thing I’d recommend is just going to pvp, and trying them out, since they’re free there. To see which ones best suits you.

They both have their pros and cons, and are useful. Torch will give you better dps, while focus gives you better survivability.

If this and the 20% heal per hit for 5 seconds is true, Shelter and Signet are still going to be better. Lower that CD, then, we might be talking up to par to them.

Actually it’s less then that. About 1.5k, this time I did it with zero healing power. Here’s a screen.

It would be nice to have a solid date, if and when they are going to remove them. Last thing I want is to get to 59 then they remove them the next week.

Personally I like the five in virtues, but it depends on the player. Here’s what I run, like I said it’s similar to yours, but it focuses on might stacking.

Keep in mind rune of ranger is bugged right now, so it’s a permanent 5% dmg increase.

My med build is actually similar to this. One thing I’d do is drop Unscathed Contender and get Elusive Power. Unscathed Contender is only going to affect your initial burst. After that it’s very unlikely you’ll have Aegis up most of the time. On the other hand you’ll very rarely have full endurance in a fight, so Elusive Power is more beneficial.

The Minstrel was a waste of time to get. It’s very lackluster, actually it’s worse then lackluster. First off, it’s ugly. Second the effects are pitiful, and only show when you are wielding it. According to wiki, it emits a harp strum sound effect when drawn. However I’ve yet to hear it.

This weapon is pitiful for a legendary. Anet took the time to update the other ones yet left this one in the dust. If I could refund it, I would.

Ascend is a time sink.

Turn to rank boosters before ranks go away!

Litany of Wrath sounds very interesting, especially if you combine it with the new Zealous Blade. I could finally stop using Shelter for once.

As a side question from a new pvper, is hotjoin more effective for rank farming than solo queue?

Hotjoins will still net you more because there’s no downtime. Right after a match ends you can jump into another one, and it’ll already be in progress. I’ve got 800 rank points in less then two minutes because of this. Tpvp does give you more, however you are waiting for a que to pop. So if all you care about is ranking up, then hotjoins is still the way to go.

Generally for ascend. You do fotm runs to get your rings and back piece. Use guild coms for your accessories, and for your amulet you use laurels. Weapons is a totally different subject. You’re going to need at least 70 gold to craft from 400-500, then around 20-30g for the weapon.

I’d worry about getting your exotics first.
