Selling dungeon runs is legit.
Using someone and kicking them at the very end is considered griefing and is reportable.
There has been official responses to these actions in the past.
The warning is a result of releasing the game in China, since they have legal restrictions. It’ll probably come back once GW2 is released there, though they may make it special to their client this time.
It’s entirely possible, at this current time, to play the TP from a mobile device with 100% functionality. I doubt if anyone’s has actually made an app to do it though and it would most likely be classified as a violation.
Can you search back items? Can you filter armor by weight classes?
Yes, but’s that probably just me. When I finally get around to it…
I wonder what ArenaNet’s stance is though, on a little TP fixing/improvements.
They can’t stop it without completely redesigning the TP to make it not a website. With a little modification, it’s possible to bot the TP from within the game itself, so it’s not like they can really do anything about it that a bot couldn’t just work around.
Since the TP is a website, I assume they originally planned for it to be a part of the extended experience. If they ever officially release an API for it, botting it will become a feature, since one can’t exist without allowing for the other. Playing the TP from a mobile device is already possible with 100% functionality, but you have to leave the game running somewhere.
Let me guess there are still bots warping all over the world gathering as well?
Moving outside the bounds of a map flags your account. All those people that fell a few times in that bugged jumping puzzle a while back got auto banned.
For those who say warrior is a good choice for phase 2, why? I find if I melee Liadri at all something (vision of mortality?) downs me right away. Is there a way to completely separate her from the crowd? I do think warrior has an easy time in phase 1. I guess I have to ask, what is it a that GS warrior does in part 2 that can take her down?
Note: I did watch one video by a top notch warrior who gets off a 100b. I haven’t been able to do a single uninterrupted 100b vs her.
I originally did Liadri on a glass elementalist. Necrotic grasp in phase 1 basically did 10% of my health. In phase 2, her leap was 70% and her follow up attacks were basically enough to kill me. My elementalist is wearing full magic find gear though, so I was already at a huge disadvantage.
A warrior is my only alt and it’s the complete opposite, a defensive build. For comparison, necrotic grasp is like getting a scratch, which is then healed by healing signet + adrenal health. What really surprised me was the difference in phase 2 damage. Liadri’s leap went from almost 8k on my elementalist to around 1.5k on my warrior. I no longer had to care about getting hit.
Condition builds are going to win when it comes to Liadri, since conditions don’t care about weakness. The 100 blades speed kill video is highly reliant on not getting hit, because if you are, you won’t be able to put out the DPS.
I can’t say if a warrior is the best profession to do it on, but it is easy. This is what it looks like: http://youtu.be/hQKJBvN37DU and http://youtu.be/oi519Xk0lbw
I noticed this happening as of yesterday, then today I noticed that while looking down, I could see the entire zerg below. They never used to spawn like that, now they do every time for me.
I think they removed culling, which is causing spawned mobs to not appear instantly. It’s also causing their animations to lag, for example, kill shot will hit you just before the animation is finished.
Also, in the second video, you had plenty of time to dodge it. Lastly, if you’re going to use Signet of Rage, use it before entering, and if you’re going to farm it…

ooo could you share with us your exact build?
thanks!

The only things that are really important are Spiked Armor for retaliation and Warrior’s Sprint to counteract cripple. Vigorous Return is for when you die to clones and instantly rally, something I never did. Furious Speed is really not that useful, but the only other useful thing would be +80 precision from Deep Strike.
The utility skills Endure Pain and Signet of Stamina are really only needed if you can’t stay out of shadowfalls. The only reason I took Endure Pain was for those situations when a rift pulls you into a shadowfall, which is a guaranteed death without a stunbreak/stability. For Great Justice is just for the DPS increase. If you’re not trying for 8 lights, you could probably swap it out for Dolyak Signet to take even less damage from Liadri.
For the secondary weapon set, I never used one. If you want to use one, you’ll need a condition weapon since you’ll be under weakness the entire time. I was playing around with a sword off hand just for impale, but a clone getting in the way was too common. With this in mind, if you want to use something like a rifle, you’ll want to take the piercing trait. Since you’d lose the movement speed bonus however, I don’t recommend it.
The only reason I had soldier’s runes is because my PVT set was my defensive shout healing build. You can swap this out for anything, condition damage + toughness would probably be best.
What’s really important is getting the shadowfalls down during phase 2. If you’re stuck in one, don’t bother running out. Dodge or Shield Stance it and you should be in a safe spot for the next shadowfall. A common error is dodging out of the shadowfall, just to be where the next shadowfall is going to drop and then you’re dead.

Because they want it to be easy to obtain but not quickly obtained.
At launch, they encountered the hardcore problem very quickly. After a week people were already 80 and in full exotics. They were done the game. All that was left was to get the look they wanted or quit. A month later and those people already finished all the dungeons, entirely exhausting GW2’s “endgame” content. Most of the people I know quit within 4 months. In the typical MMO, this is where they would have used grinding to lengthen the content, so that people would have lasted until something new came out, in this case, the living story.
Time gating is an attempt to fix that. People that can only play an hour a day can obtain it, while those that play all day can’t obtain it immediately and then have nothing to do.

Are you talking about the zerg or doing the champ battles up top?
Queen’s Gauntlet, the battles up top. Thieves and Guardians farming deadeye alone are easily making 40g an hour.
First off, Queens guantlet does not make you anywhere near that
Really? Because I’m averaging 25-30g per hour on a warrior and that’s not the most efficient class at doing it.
The best way to make money currently, besides ***, is by farming the Queen’s Gauntlet, which pays out 20-50g per hour with the right class. You can’t AFK auto attack that and although the people doing it may find it faceroll easy, there are plenty more people that are incapable of doing it.
The gauntlet is probably a test to see how far they should go, since obviously there are people complaining about difficulty. When previewing it, they talked about wanting to reward challenging content and provide ways of showing off. Recently, they hinted at wanting to add hard and rewarding events to the game, but anything in the open world will either just be zerged to death or impossible for smaller groups.
I did it with a pvt soldier’s warrior (berserker accessories) using a sword and shield with a defensive retaliation build. Phase 2 was basically walking backwards in a small circle between where the shadowfalls drop while just spamming 1 on Liadri. Never bothered to cleanse and Liadri’s damage isn’t really a threat, plus she kills herself from retaliation. Also got 8 lights this way. You can come very close to running out of time if you stall though.
Assume no. Considering they’re going to add an item to the gem store to undo a transmutation, further assume no.
I expected them to nerf it by now. Now it’ll probably stay the way it is until the 20th at least, since they probably won’t do anything on the weekend and the 20th is patch day anyways.
When they previewed the patch, they said they wanted to reward challenging content, so it does make sense that you can farm this for money. Even though the people farming it find it easy, there are a lot of people that simply can’t do it, even if they have the advantage. What I don’t get though is why then didn’t they make Liadri much more worth it. Liadri should be the one everyone wants to farm, though this would also mean the queues would be much longer.
It closes on September 3rd.
PoI icons weren’t originally on the map and vistas didn’t exist at that time. Due to feedback, they were added to the map. Most people don’t want to run up and down every inch of the zone to find that last missing point.

Using the mail to trade is not bannable, but giving someone a large amount of gold is highly suspicious. The person who receives the gold can get flagged and possibly banned for being suspected of buying gold. A few months ago, people claimed they were banned due to many guild members sending them small quantities of gold, even if only a couple times, though this was then the system was likely first implemented.
Also note that trading through the mail is not supported by ArenaNet, so whatever happens between the two of you, stays between the two of you. If something goes wrong, ArenaNet won’t help you, unless the problem was caused by a bug.
I just do deadeye with 3 gambits (burning, no dodge, cripple) (warrior). It’s really easy with a 99% success ratio for me.
I never really timed it, but for great justice usually had anywhere from 5 to 12 seconds remaining on its cooldown after being teleported out. I’d use the skill a few seconds upon entering the arena. Signet of rage was usable almost (maybe 10s cooldown remaining) every other match, so I guess each round, including queuing, took around 30 seconds on average.
Using a sword/mace and greatsword was fairly simple. On entering, I’d run to the side so I’d have clear path in between the mines to deadeye and use the mace knockdown. Note that some arenas have better entry mine placements, whereas some you really have to run around. After the knockdown, I would sword leap to him. After that it was pretty much 100 blades + for great justice + frenzy. When kill shot was going to happen, I’d just whirlwind evade it. If he teleported across the room, I’d line up the mines and rush to him and 100 blades again. He’d usually die at the point or occasionally teleport away with 1% health. Every other match would be slightly faster due to the cooldowns and when he teleports right next to you at the start is when it was much faster.
For the last utility skill, I was using bulls rush/kick/stomp, but he kept teleporting the second I’d use it, which for bull’s rush would make me hit a mine. I stuck with endure pain even though I rarely used it, maybe only once every 3 matches, since he will occasionally do a kill shot within ~7 seconds of the last one.
There will be a slider just like the one for WvW to reduce the number of visible players. Without that option some people won’t be able to play the game anymore.
If anything performance will be better with culling gone. It was for me in WvW and I expect the same boost to pve.
You should only notice a performance increase if you have low settings where culling is even higher. No culling at all means you’re going to see every single player, which is going to greatly reduce performance.
The Crown Pavilion closes on September 3rd.
If you camp a balloon and constantly do the event, you will eventually rotate through all the champions. The events and champions rotate in order.
They’re also releasing kits that let you change the stats of an item, with restrictions. They’ll probably replace magic find with something useless or give out free kits.
It really doesn’t matter what they replace it with since ascended gear will probably come out at the same time.
Position yourself so that you’re in between the mines and then sword 2 to leap without blowing up. You should easily be able to do at least 3 gambits on a warrior.
I originally beat Liadri on my elementalist, who is wearing full magic find gear (I blame ArenaNet). Every attack hit so hard. Necrotic Grasp was like 10% per hit, the leap was around 75% and the whip AoE was 15% per second. I only had around 12k health.
I went back and did the 8 lights achievement on my warrior, who is wearing full pvt soldiers gear. It was the complete opposite. Necrotic Grasp did no noticeable damage, the leap didn’t matter and the whip AoE was like getting scratched. The damage was so low I basically just backed through the shadowfall AoE, moving in a small circle between the safe spots. I constantly had cripple and weakness and never cleansed them. It was actually surprisingly easy doing it with a sword/shield and greatsword warrior. It only took 4 tries, my first try after disabling auto targeting (so I could free leap – I was occasionally miss-targeting the rifts and leaping somewhere bad).
I didn’t use any consumables for either of them.
Well good for you, thief. But I’m a worrior ;_; It’s over for me :’<
You can still do it with On Fire, Exhausted, and Hamstring fairly easily. Sword leap to it and greatsword it.
You can probably also add Crowd Favorite, but I wouldn’t try Frailty since he’ll most likely get 2x rapid fires off and one will likely be from across the room. Traiting for reflective blocks should help if you really wanted 5.
He’s also been nerfed. His kill shot doesn’t 1 shot. It only did 6k damage, though he uses it more often.
He’s been somewhat buffed. He now starts off with a head shot without waiting for you to engage. His first teleport was to the middle, where he already was.
Which location is now teleports to is completely random, so it could teleport right next to you, or continuously move back and forth between the room.

According to the combat log, your whirling axe only hits subject 7 once for 181 damage near the beginning of the cast (AoEs have a maximum target limit). At that point it looks like subject 7 has 0% health, but it probably had 182+.
It’s fully intended that not everyone will be able to complete the gauntlet. They even said the mini was a way to show off to other players. Unfortunately however, by making the reward a mini, that was kind of a slap in the face to casual players that collect them. Regardless, someone would have complained no matter what was rewarded.
Since they’re not going to nerf it, cheat. I have friends that are unable to do certain types of content (ie, clock tower), so I’ll do it for them. Get someone else to do it for you. Unlike other events however, this content has a character requirement (tickets, level 80, gear, etc), making it more difficult for someone else to just do it.
Recovery is available, but it rolls back the entire account to the specific date, can only be used once during the lifetime of your account and only works for stuff lost within the last several months.
The experience item in black lion chests is called a Tome of Knowledge. When used, it grants the character 1 full level.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they added a “Silver-Fed…” and a “Gold-Fed…” where the silver one uses ~60 copper per use and is a rare kit while the gold one uses ~50 silver per use and is a black lion kit. (the names would make more since if you had to pay upfront, for 25 uses at a time)
Options > Graphics > Turn off Post-Processing (None).
The screen tint from death shroud will be disabled, along with other screen effects.
Back then 1g was worth 400 gems. I know I stocked up a couple $100 worth.
60g was $300.
Crafting a precursor will probably be much cheaper than their current value, though you’ll probably only get to make 1.
The game creates a session when you first login. The problem is, it only creates a session at the time, so when your session times out, it can’t create a new one. Once this happens, you have to completely exit the game and start it again, to create a new session.
If your mail is full, items from the gem store can be hidden. Perhaps it got pushed out and hidden due to new mail. Try completely emptying your mail and rechecking.
If you know for a fact that you didn’t accidentally take the item and use or delete it, you’ll need to contact support. Do the above first, since they’ll get you to do it anyways.
Originally, the theory was that a group could be made up of any class and therefore, finding a group should be easy. Just get the closest people around. In reality however, that doesn’t work and just leads to chat spam in cities or an empty map.
Additionally, explorable dungeons were intended for groups of coordinated players, which sounds like they’re not meant to be PuG’d. During the betas, they said that QA had not even completed all dungeon paths because they were too difficult. This is probably why the grouping system isn’t that great for PuG dungeons (group leader owns the instance).
They are adding a LFG system, but it’ll most likely not be a dungeon finder (auto creates group and teleports you to dungeon). They’ll probably go the simpler route and use what MMOs used in the past – a system where you sign up for what you want and people can invite you from there. Personally, I’d rather see a real dungeon finder, but if they do implement the simpler version, well, it’s been known for months that they’ve been working on it, so, they’re really, really slow to implement something that simple (though the currency wallet is a perfect example of just how slow they are and both are important features requested from practically the start of the game).
In Gw1, on each character’s birthday, you would be given a present which contained 1 random mini for that year, except one year when they did tonics instead.
In Gw2, they plan on doing the same thing. What is in the present has not been said.
Just imagine starting the game as a new player next year, where you’ll forever be down 10k points while 20k points was the norm. Since the rewards are linear, that means that over time the problem will only get worse and only day 1 players will ever be able to obtain newly added achievement rewards.
Normally, it wouldn’t matter, but since a large bulk of points, the majority of points, come from temporary content, obtaining achievements rewards will become nearly impossible. Some players will be years behind.
Besides removing temporary achievements, there’s really no way to keep rewards special to a high number of points while also making them realistically obtainable. For example, they could replace zenith weapons with an achievement skin claim ticket that would allow you to choose any achievement weapon skin, but then that would no longer make the high point skins special – to show off.
Always do the 2 balloons per zone to make it easier to remember.
If you’re going to do them day by day or all at once, go from left to right and do them in order by zone. If you’re going to do them randomly, keep a list of the zones you’ve already done.
each emissary escort counts as 10 kills
so you have to do that —-- 10 —-—— times
Take an emissary’s buff in the crown pavilion and follow the zerg doing the events. Getting 100 kills only takes about 2 events.
Why not? Sometimes you might select something and then decide you don’t want it.
Tickets should be paid when it’s your time in queue and not on activation, but the way it is, is the simplest implementation. It’d be funny if you had to pay after you were ported in to the arena and if you didn’t have the funds, the floor would drop.
A while ago, a dev confirmed that MF only affects drops from monsters.

While playing with random specs for the first time since… ever… because of the gauntlet, at many points I had 0 in arcane with the long 15s swaps. I then wondered why traits, specifically the ones that reduce cooldowns, don’t affect the attunement itself or alternatively, why points spent in the attunement’s line doesn’t reduce its cooldown, instead of arcane.
i think ArenaNet wants elementalists disadvantaged in every possible category
Thoughts?
They pretty much straight up said that. Elementalists are the “druid” class, able to do everything, but not to the same extent as a class primarily focused on it. Because of that, they will always be at a disadvantage when comparing specifics.
I try that, and I just go zipping past my target, only getting a couple ticks of the flame
When I was testing it, that would happen when you teleport too soon. Teleporting too late will just cause less damage. A minimum delay of 0.3s between activating rush and teleporting is required.
I’m still having problems unfortunately How did you hit THAT many times with FG? I tried imitating it, but only got 1 hit off of fiery rush
You have to disable auto targeting use fiery rush and immediately follow with lightning flash roughly 0.3s later. You can’t have a target selected when casting fiery rush or else it ends with a leap when you reach the target, which in this situation is as soon as you cast it.
Then let Anet openly come out and say it. Say “This reward is only for an elite few. It doesn’t matter how patient you are or how hard you work”. At least then I’ll know where I stand.
But… they did? During the live stream, the dev said something about there being no way to show off that you’re a pro player in-game. Then he showed the mini pet.
I did the gauntlet in full magic find gear and no consumables (waiting on that mf and crafting update), but I didn’t try the extra achievements (I just did it for the pet). My spec was usually 0/30/10/20/10 fresh air using S/D, though for liadri I did go 30/30/0/10/0 and only used the fiery greatsword for the 2nd part.
Chompers never really gave me any issues. I would occasionally get the meat ahead of him, and by the time he died, he got about 3 pieces. If you’re not going for the achievement, the dog just basically runs around eating meat, as long as you don’t take it. You can use snares during this time to get more than 1 piece of meat up at a time, causing the dog to run around.
I did chompers again for the achievement, just now. At first I was going to cheat. If you can get in 2x in a row, you can start the match with a stack of food, allowing you to quickly kill the dog. It didn’t count though, but he was close to a meat, so he may have gotten it as he died.
Using S/F, I did it legit. A little RNG is involved though, since meat can and was occasionally thrown on top of chompers – not very fair. Using the focus, water 4, 5, air 4, 5 and earth 4 can all be used to try to stop chompers from reaching meat and should be used as soon as the meat is thrown. Once you collect around 4 meat, get within melee range of the norn and use swirling winds to negate any further meat being thrown. With the damage bonus from those 4 meat, you should be able to quickly kill chompers with fire 2,3.
If they ever increase the level cap, of course they would add new gear for that level cap. That would be the whole point of increasing it. Also, if nothing was changed, a level 90 in old 80 gear would be a power decrease due to scaling.
