Tifa Ran/Ranger with a Pet
Commander WvW – Henge of Denravi
They should have put this in rare or specialized collections and not as a possible achievement to get 21 achievements for the gloves. Koda’s Blessing is a gold sink and really has nothing to do with the story, which most achievements usually do have something to do with the story in general.
Koda’s Blessing doesn’t count in the 21 achievements for the meta.
Um, it sure does. It is listed in the 22 possible achievements for the meta. You don’t have to do it, but you can do it for one of the 21 required to get the gloves.
I think you may be mistaken. Try clicking on the Meta Achievement box that awards the Gloves. There you will find a list of achievement tasks necessary.
Ah, I see what you mean. All the more reason it shouldn’t even be in the “A Crack in the Ice” achievements tab. It should be listed under Rare Collections instead, even though it has to do with the zone. An example is machined weapons. It has everything to do with the HOT release, but they chose to put it in collections instead since it doesn’t count for overall zone or story completion.

Also, it should be worth about 50-100 points.
Same here. The node does not appear on the list.
I really enjoyed the content. Good story and pacing. And it wasn’t a quick 3 and out addition.
One problem I have are the achievements. 2 in particular.
1 is the Delicious Desserts achievement. It constantly says “Temporarily Disabled.”
2 is Koda’s Blessing: Super expensive, basically a gold sink. And the number of achievement points given for such an expensive, material and gold-wise venture are pitiful. 950 globs of ectos? 209 gold minimum? Please don’t create a story achievement like this ever again. And if you do it should be worth about 100 achievement points at least.
The Delicious Desserts achievement continuously says “Temporarily Disabled.”
Might be less demand for them as people acquire their own. Not to mention you can make your own precursor which leads to making your own legendary. As people discover they can spend less gold making their own than satisfying their “I want it now” syndrome, prices will inevitably drop. On a side note though, material prices tend to rise, but not enough to make someone decide not to make legendary over spending say 3000 gold for instant satisfaction.
My 2 copper worth of opinion.
Love this idea. Would help me deploy siege so much easier and keep my screen clear.
Happening right now. Everything move to a crawl, giant lag spikes and DC’s.
Crash just happened right after Teq event began. Now I can’t get back in.
I had 408 gems that vanished as well. Those were bought with real money. I have a feeling they’ll reappear, but if not I’ll go through the standard stuff to get them back.
We just had everyone in our zerg of 30+ get DC’d and lag spiked. We keep getting DC’d. We have people from all over the world in the zerg, so it isn’t localized.
Is this being addressed?
yep I’m fed up of wvw was just start starting to really enjoy it now they have made it 2 servers to make it busy I hate it
but also the 2 hit killing is really winding me up I had a necro few months back took about 15 of us to kill as the were taking 99% helth on 1st touch then done whole lenth of map in seconds
my wvw char is a mesma with toughness vitality always getting 1 hit killed so frushtrating so many complaining in chat also today I got 2 kit killed buy a ranger in a warrior with knight armor on. I run a full accended berserker ranger and I cant kill no 1 in 2 hits not even when letting off all skills with successful hits drops people so how does 1 ranger drop a knight warrior on 2nd arrow
Just part of the new classes upgrades. Everyone got massive damage increases and combat utilities. Ranger got Druid. Remember, you have a pet, you don’t need a damage boost.
How does this actually work? Do you throw down food on top of an enemies tactivator? I thought only your servers could interact with your food?
Nope, you can use any food dropped by any player and it’s the same for banners. If it allows any player to interact with it in PVE then you can interact with it in WvW. The only things you can’t use in WvW are the other servers’ siege weapons, tower and keep portals, WPs, tactivators, supply, and spell effects like the mesmer’s portal(one of the few exceptions to the anything you can interact with rule).
OP, I feel you. I’ve been dedicated to this game since the release, I’ve spent tons of money on it and one thing I always wanted (once I discovered the Hellfire armor set was earned through daily achievements) was to get that armor. I just recently hit the daily cap and my heart sunk. I was already playing less and less of this game, but now another incentive has been removed for me to log in.
TBH, I’m fed up of us veterans being penalised for sticking around and supporting the game. I know lot of people think that we Vets don’t spend money on the game, but I do, I regularly buy gems to support the development of this game and I’m sick and tired of constant gatings and barriers being thrown into the game just to stifle our progress.
At this point, with the daily cap in place, I see no way of getting my hellfire set, ever and that has basically given me even less reason to log in. Just b/c some 1 complained they could not control themselves in the past, why should I be penalised for it? Especially some 1 who has been dedicated to the game and supported it since its launch.
So my view on this is, remove the cap, no more caps, gating etc. enough is enough.
I don’t understand why so many people insist that uncapped dailies are the only solution to the currently unobtainable AP skins. This is simply not true. A, much healthier, option would be for ANet to add way more permanent achievements, that give AP more reflective of the effort put into obtaining them. I mean, with LWS2 and HoT the new AP available was extremely limited, almost a pitiful amount really. We need more of those general achievements, that you can work on as you play the game, where you can earn far more than 10AP a day if you work towards it.
Simply increasing the daily AP cap doesn’t solve the problem. It exclusively helps veteran players (which is not healthy),and it could be used as an excuse by ANet to continue giving very little new AP with every release. So far LWS3 has been better than HoT and LWS2 were imo, hopefully they pick up the pace even more.
Yes, OriOri, that would be a more healthy solution. The problem with though is that they must create new achievements which takes programming time, whereas simply lifting the daily cap would be the simplest. Though I do like the idea you have more. I think there would be less complaining if the AP quests were more numerous.
The whole question of this thread is not if you agree with the cap or not, it’s about asking ANeT to create a poll to end the subject once and for all. Then, if the poll fails to get rid of the cap, the naysayers can cheer and know that no one will ever get the skins they have.
So make suggestions on how the poll might be worded and lets get ANeT to implement the poll.
Yes uncapping would affect us. It would devalue achievement skins, devalue permanent achievements even more and make leaderboard about who can log in the most consecutive days again.
There is no actual value to the skins. You can’t sell them. Legendaries, by your definition are devalued now that any one can make a precursor and don’t have to rely on a infinitesimal drop.
At this point it is not even worth discussing with you anymore. Rarity and demand makes value. Value does not have to mean gold. Since you are after these skins they are obviously valuable to you, too.
So your true motivation was you don’t want anyone else to catch up, which goes against ANeT’s stated reason for the cap in the first place. Which of course with the current cap policy no one will.

Good of you to notice that. What a great observation.
Just so you know what you think isn’t true for everyone either. And I’m sure that once people who start hitting the cap begin to realize that they are now limited they’d want the cap lifted. Probably more than don’t.
- Suggests to have a poll limited to people who have hit the cap
- Rejects an opposing opinion by someone who has hit the cap
- Presumes to know what the general population who have hit the cap think without any actual proof
Have a nice time in the rest of this thread.
Typical naysayer.
Hasn’t really read most of the thread.
Rejects any opposing opinion.
Presumes to know better than other players.
Like I’ve stated earlier:
First there’s the original post, you can read that.
Now I’ve added considerations and such to the poll, which apparently many naysayers don’t care about because they are either trolls and love stirring up controversy on subjects they disagree with or they think that the cap being lifted will be the end of the world.
Changes I’ve suggested:
For a bigger cross section of pollsters set the bar of achievement points to participate at around 25,000(can be adjusted not hard and fast).
Make harder dailies that players at the cap can earn 10 pts a day on.
Yes, I endorse lifting the Entropy limit too, but maybe making it worth less or harder to advance.
Of course getting the cap lifted will benefit me. But it will benefit many many more. I don’t like arbitrary limits or limiting players on how they play. I want people to enjoy the game. And to many the daily cap has taken some of the fun out of the game. I didn’t care about the gold reward, I thought of it as more of a ANeT feeling sorry for us and trying to give incentive to people to keep playing the game. I know of some who have quit over this limit, and there are some who say they will. ANeT should listen to the high achievement point players who see this as a negative to continued playing of the game. I’m sure many of them have spent real money on gems and such, which supports the game’s continued existence.
But I still must ask the naysayers – How does the cap getting lifted affect you in any way? Are you directly harmed? Are you going to suddenly quit the game? Are you even playing the game anymore and are just trolling the thread?
Like someone said, this isn’t a competition.
How you view it isn’t true for everyone.
Good of you to notice that. What a great observation.
Just so you know what you think isn’t true for everyone either. And I’m sure that once people who start hitting the cap begin to realize that they are now limited they’d want the cap lifted. Probably more than don’t.
I’d say: first, do a poll to know if we should have a poll about daily AP cap.
I vote no.
But there already is a cap, thus you must ask if it should remain in place first. Also, they should explain why it was implemented in the first place. Plus, why current achievement points are so limited in size. Oh, and that you won’t be able to reach the higher levels now because we got rid of some of the achievements and such. Simply rationing out small amounts of AP when we finally get new content is not satisfactory.
I’ve reached the cap and am extremely thankful that there is a cap. It means that I don’t have to chase some infinite AP source if I want to remain competitive on the AP leaderboard.
Like someone said, this isn’t a competition.
I don’t understand why players who have not reached the cap should not be polled. They won’t be affected in a week? a month? a year? Why should their opinion be discarded?
It makes the whole ‘poll’ seem biased, and not worth the Dev’s attention.
(And, by the way, one can vote in the WvW poll, whether one participates or not.)
Good luck.
Nope you can’t just vote on a WvW poll. Because you wouldn’t know about it unless you rank up or play WvW or look for a poll. ANeT doesn’t really go out of their way to announce it because they want input from players who are actually affected. And why would a PVE only player even care about WvW? Achievement points go to everyone.
The reason for limiting it to players who have reached the limit is because they’re the ones being affected right now. They’ve played the most. They have some idea of why it matters. A player who just started out and has maybe 500 points really wouldn’t. Heck, if you want a bigger cross section limit it to players with 25,000 or more total achievement points.
When they decided to create the cap, we weren’t told about it, it was just implemented from on high. And why, because some high achievers complained they felt forced to do them. How many of them who contacted ANeT about creating a cap are actually still playing? And how many were there? And did the solicit the whole of the GW2 player population? – NOPE. Obviously a tiny minority got this cap put in place. At least the guys at the top are now protected from everyone catching up – oh, wait – the cap was also introduced to let new players catch up, or so they said. How laughable.
Look, people getting daily achievement points doesn’t affect the naysayers in any way whatsoever. You aren’t forced to play with that player, you aren’t made to pay for them being there, and you probably wouldn’t know they reached it unless you had a way to check their points. And why would you care? Speaking of which, why do you even care about how people get their achievement points? Oh, I forgot, you don’t want people catching up in a way you don’t approve of.
It’s not a competition.
Correct. Myself, I love to see how I’m doing and such, but I prefer the fact that I actually can try to reach the point where others are. The elitist types just seem to think that if you tread on their territory or get something you must bleed for it. And Melandru forbid you get achievement points for playing a game every day. Thou shalt not get points beyond this because we don’t want you to.
The enjoyment of the game is slowly starting to fade for me and others. We look at what we can do and our choices are severely limited and the rewards for doing them are minuscule.
Looks like my 3rd choice pegged the forum pouncers to a tee. I knew it would. I don’t even need to read the naysayers because they always say the same thing and have no leg to stand on. You always pew pew with straw man arguments.
For those serious about lifting the cap and trying to be constructive, great.
Getting gold for doing dailies is like giving cocaine to a heroin addict to get him off heroin. Nothing is accomplished and there is no greater reward because the addict will still be stuck in the same place. Why should we get gold for simply logging in and doing 15 min of work. That makes even less sense than giving daily achievement points. Daily achievement points don’t affect the market in any way, giving gold does.
When players have done nearly everything in the game and are no longer able to advance a track that will give them some sense of achievement in the game the game becomes stagnant. Simply giving us gold and shards is like saying “Good boy, now go off to your corner and log in tomorrow. But buy gems too, okay?”
And to the person who pointed out that doing dailies for 10 points cheapens the other achievements has made a good point. I believe you are correct there. Achievements should be worth a ton more. Like finishing all the paths of a certain dungeon should be worth far more than 5pts. Making some of the new HOT specialization weapons should have been worth more, considering all the work you have to do to finish them. Same for Legendaries – tons of work goes into them, but they don’t add up to barely more than a daily completion.
Another way to do this would be to make high level dailies for those at the cap. Instead of the simple list, you get do a successful Dragon Stand all the way to the boss, a Verdant Brink day and night cycle, kill the Chak Gherent, and such harder events all over Tyria and the new zones.
(edited by Heibi.4251)
I knew I’d get this kind of response. They key thing I’m asking is for ANeT to actually ask the players instead of listening to a bunch of elitists who complained in the past that they felt forced to do dailies. Like you say, then don’t do them. Plus the arbitrary cap is ridiculous. The incentive to play this game varies from person to person. Some play WvW and couldn’t care less about daily achievements. Others like to get shinies through achievements.
The elitist part of the poll was exactly based on some of the naysayers who always pounce the instant someone says “Why don’t we lift the cap?”. Thanks for pouncing.
There’s no way to split the results unless they create two separate polls. Much like the WvW polls, you have to actually play in WvW to participate. So in a sense, you’re saying they should ask a PVE player who NEVER goes into WvW to vote on something that does not affect him. This poll is based on the fact that supposedly players who were high on the achievement tree complained and then ANeT also decided to add the “catch up” drivel, which can never happen unless they bring back achievements that no longer exist.
There is no finish line when the rewards for reaching certain items, skins, titles are way beyond and nearly impossible to reach now that the cap is in place. A lot of the remaining achievements require players to actually spend money or gold to achieve – like miniature collections, skins from the BLT, and so forth. And those achievements are tiny in points given.
Agent of Entropy – sure lift it. I see no problem. You can always increase the number of items needed as certain levels of items salvaged are reached.
Like I have said, all I want is for ANeT to actually address this. Many players are reaching the limit and many have already reached it, including myself. This game is player driven, and if I and many others stop playing ANeT will begin to lose money. I for one have bought gems with my money. ANeT can just use my user name and find that out easily. So as someone who helps fund ANeT’s existence I am asking for them to make my game play more satisfactory.
Since ANeT is doing polls for WvW to see what players actually want, how about a poll to see if the Daily Achievement Cap is really wanted? The poll would only be available to people who have hit the cap and are currently the ones being affected.
Poll Questions:
- Remove Current Daily Achievement Cap and retroactively award daily achievement points withheld from players who have hit the cap.
- Remove Daily Achievement Cap but don’t award withheld daily achievement points from players who have already hit the cap.
- Don’t remove the cap, I’m an elitist and don’t want people to be able to get daily achievement points beyond the current cap.
- Increase the Daily Achievement Cap by 5000 and retroactively award the withheld achievement points to those who have already hit the cap.
- Increase the Daily Achievement Cap by 5000 but don’t award withheld daily achievement points from players who have already hit the cap.
- Don’t count my vote.
I don’t know about the others who have hit the cap, but I’m tired of scrimping and scraping to get a mere 1, 2, or 3 achievement points at a time. The 2 gold a day is nice but I’m beginning to tire of doing things and getting zero reward achievement-wise.
I actually saw a dragon banner used last week. It’s been some time since I’ve seen one of those used. I thought that was something everyone agreed was bad for the game and stopped using them. I felt pity for the other side’s players who had to play with the banner.
It’s funny how the players prefer vanilla WvW. Maybe we should have a poll about this.
Yep, the server we’re fighting right now used 4 or more today to fight us. They became bags.
On a side note: siege can be destroyed but tactivators cannot.
So in some strange world we shouldn’t destroy siege since it wouldn’t be “fair”, right?
Blocking the tactivators is similar to destroying siege. Think of it that way.
You don’t win a battle by fighting fairly. Every general will tell you this. I like a good fight like every other commander. But I like to know I have a certain advantage. Good commanders put themselves in an advantageous position to try and obtain victory. What better way than to prevent the sudden arrival of 40+ defenders. Nothing better than the keep flipping just as the enemy blob runs through or up to the gate because they couldn’t port in via the EWP.
OP, WvW is about tactics, tactics, tactics.
And an even better com knows that true victory comes from outclassing and out skilling your enemy in combat, not by doing anything possible to avoid said fight. (Assuming you are equal numbers ofc) Let them come and enjoy the additional loot.
![]()
In wvw there is a difference between getting a “fair” advantage that any side can get like good positioning, movement etc and “unfair” advantages like using 20ac’s in addition or avoiding the enemy in the first place. The latter is what you shouldn’t use.
Sorry to break it to you, most commanders want the EWP blocked when entering a keep. They’ll welcome a force coming through the door and fight it, but not a sudden map queue. You see preventing the use of the EWP IS out “skilling” the enemy. Avoiding a fight isn’t the issue, it’s avoiding a wipe. In keeps the EWP is on inner, so you have to get through 2 walls to reach it. If the enemy hasn’t pulled the EWP before you get in then it’s tough-kitten for them, they were dumb.
In some of the fights we’ve had the enemy runs away even when they outnumber us. They run to a tower or keep and try to get us into siege range. It’s a legit tactic, but a wimpy one. Blocking a EWP isn’t wimpy, btw. Since we’re inside their current structure we want them to have just as hard a time getting to us as we may have had getting through their defenses – that’s only “fair”. We’d rather have a"fair" fight on open ground rather than getting map queued down because we were being “fair” and letting them use the EWP. We aren’t avoiding a fight, we’re delaying it so we can try and take the objective. Remember, if we have “equal” numbers, not all will be fighting the incoming enemy. Some will be taking down the keep lord. So now we aren’t equal.
WvW is about taking objectives and defeating your enemy as quickly as possible. Otherwise we wouldn’t see certain servers running around in 40+ toon blobs.
True Victory(life) is actually: To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations(QQ) of their women(commanders).
Yes, it’s a great tactic when you know the enemy vastly outnumbers you. What better way to delay a blob than to make it difficult to pull the emergency way point.

I see no problem. I like the animation. If everything looked the same it would be boring.
Yep. Crash, crash, crash
The problem was they were complaining and making suggestions when a certain someone didn’t really care. He chose other priorities and ignored the complaints. I can understand the frustration of those who finally gave up.
It also doesn’t help that the big servers are soaking up all the players they can get, leaving other servers void of players. Their deep pockets of gold cannot be matched by lesser servers. Not to mention the band wagoners who just want to win no matter how boring and blobby it gets. I’m happy to be on a mid-sized server. Queues are smaller and the matches can be challenging.
I’m sure we’ve lost quite a few players for good. I can see it at times. Don’t know what server you’re on but if it is nearly empty think of moving to a slightly larger server, staying away from the T1 and T2 ones. Mindless blobs are boring.
Actually, I believe they are working on another BL.
The server merger was and is an ongoing attempt to alleviate the constant losing due to mismatched server size. Not a perfect fix. One of the problems was server animosity. Several serves have such strong negative feelings for each other that they can’t work together, or simply refuse to. And some players don’t want to get in TS because of the level of “jerk” in the channel. Many different reasons – too much swearing, anti-“group” statements, arguing, etc. So they opt for just staying on whatever voice chat with friends.
The latest skirmish experiment is to try and create a situation where, even though you may lost the overall match, you have a chance to win a few sets. Again, like server merging, not perfect. It’s hard to beat servers that heavily recruit to stack the deck against other servers.
The initial full WvW desert BL implementation was tested by players, who gave a negative reaction to it, but it was implemented because ANeT had already done so much work and were going to do it anyway. Remember, the king of that time is gone. When he left things changed and ANeT started listening more intently to the players.
In the overall picture ANeT is trying a heck of a lot more than in past years to improve WvW. I don’t think WvW’ers are giving them enough credit. ANeT is listening and actually trying to implement player suggestions. These changes don’t happen overnight so give them time. Encourage your WvW friends to submit ideas and to point out problems. Simply complaining and leaving the game because changes don’t appear immediately will solve nothing.
Well, as to TS communication, or server openly invited the other servers to our TS and many of the players came in and were welcomed. So maybe openness would help the communication problem.
We invite the other servers to our meetings(very short and concise on or server and only once a week).
You say the desert ruined WvW. There was a vote taken and the current setup was voted in by actual players responding to the poll. If you didn’t respond because you were avoiding WvW that is you fault(not the OP – just a general statement to WvW players who wonder why the desert part is back).
Gliding may very well come into play one day, but ANeT needs to make sure that you can’t simply glide over walls. Too much imbalance there.
The Outnumbered part was what server merging was implemented to help with. But if the loses keep happening even though there are lots of people, then something else is responsible. Also, I noticed with one match up the one server rarely left EBG, with only a few of their players joining us in the other BLs. We lost a lot then, but we also won a few.
The big picture here is WvW players complain a lot. In the past it fell on deaf ears, but now ANeT is listening if you haven’t noticed. Instead of posting and saying that “everyone” is quitting WvW, keep posting what improvements you want to see. The change may not be super fast, but change will happen. ANeT is no longer sitting in an enclosed keep looking down on the masses and making them play their way. That king left. A new king is responding to his/her subjects. Now get out there and encourage your WvW friends to play and submit ideas and problems – and try to have solutions.
Special note to ANeT filters: How does “who” and “responded” become kittenponded? I had to edit my response to make it not look like I was swearing.

I think there’s a lot of ways how to go around pets.
One of our fellow forum members had an amazing idea that pets would not deal damage but would work as a utility-oriented feature.
Dogs could sniff out stealthed
Birds could peck eyes for blind
Pigs could spawn consumables like now
Cats could cripple or make vulnerable
Spiders immobilize
SmokeScale provide stealth
Wyverns knockdownI mean, there’s a lot of brainstorming around pets that has already been done. Most of ideas were brilliant. They are just afraid to implement them because I think they are aware of possible failures themselves. This way – it kinda works so they do not want to touch something that is not broken (even though I think they should risk it).
My idea for dogs was that you could detect and target stealthed foes within a certain range. As long as the pet is alive you can consistently hit the stealthed target. Thieves would think twice before attacking a group with rangers in it. Rangers would be in demand in WvW as anti-gank hunters. Hell, if they made it a trait I’d begin using it immediately.
Pets in general are the rangers bane. They miss far too often, killing our artificially lowered DPS due to having a pet in the first place. It would be one thing if we weren’t penalized for having said pet. But we are and the pet combat mechanic sucks.
One idea is a perma store pet option that returns our DPS to what it should be. Yeah, you have no pet, but you do the DPS you were meant to do.
Yes, raids should have been designed that any compliment of toons could have done it if they played it right. I should be able to take my best character in instead of niche meta designed toon. More would raid if the raids weren’t so elite-istic. I’ve raided some and had a few successes, but they aren’t enjoyable enough to invest all my efforts into spending 1000s of gold to get exactly the armor, weapons and trinkets. I’m still disappointed in the design of the raids. They’re just too exclusive.
And then all the stuff like 1h Matthias kills, 3-manning encounters and I dont know what else (certainly a lot) has been done. Those raids can’t be overly demanding if such stuff is possible.
There will always be exceptions to the norm. Some peeps are just that good. But the mechanics of some bosses don’t allow things like 3-manning. Try 3-manning Vale Guardian. Some bosses just are not as challenging as others. Look at regular PVE where the scaling allows 1-manning tough content at times. Overall though, the raids are disappointing. To little diversity, exclusion of classes(ahem – ranger(not druid)), etc.
But back to spending 1000s of gold on builds. The raid dynamic has caused it in many cases. In order to be allowed to participate with the snooty snoot elites you need the exact build or you can just go away. And the “nerfs” after spending lots of gold to get that build would upset anyone.
One balance I would like is for ranger pets to actually be able to hit consistently instead of running around a nipping at the enemy’s heals missing most of the time. Ranger damage is artificially lower because our pet is supposed to make up for it. NOT.
the reason so many people seem so mad is because the small minority who does raids are getting so kitten and complain the most when their builds get nerfed. while the majority who do other things don’t really care because it gives their classes the option to do other things. it is quite funny how salty the raiders are getting over this small announcement which was needed.
One of the many reasons raids are unhealthy.

I’m wondering where the stealth nerf for thieves is? In WvW the other day we had a thief standing still not being hit in a corner for over a minute stealthed. We knew he was there because of the orange dot. We threw everything in the corner where he was supposed to be and nothing. We finally got him with an old fashioned stealth trap when he moved on the wall(stealthed all the way to the trap before being hit). With that we had enough time to kill him before he could perma-stealth again.
It’s the same argument for daily achievement cap. I’m approaching 300mf and would hate to waste all that luck the way I’ve wasted over 1000 daily achievement points so far. ANeT, act on both of these.
And yet again map fails to reach T4. 80% of the way there. Thanks ANeT for making this single collection piece rely on the participation of an entire kittening map!
ANeT, please delink it from T4 and make it to what the actual in game description says. “Successfully complete the Verdant Brink map meta-event cycle.”
I entered a map that was advertised as going for T4. Didn’t happen. This is why I’m more than frustrated with how ANeT design this collection for a simple back piece. Everything else is available through MY actions and doesn’t rely on a MAP POPULATION’S contribution. None of the other back pieces required T4-anything. This makes no sense. If the wiki didn’t exist I wouldn’t know that the in-game description and the wiki expanded description differed. At least killing all 5 bosses should suffice and not the level of map.
Happened again today. We killed all the bosses but missed T4 by about 15-20%. This is ridiculous. This is why it shouldn’t be connected to T4 solely. I’ll never be able to finish this collection at this rate.
Thanks for making it ridiculously stupid, ANeT. You make the other parts available through story line steps, map merchants, and such, but no, you make one part not doable unless I get an ENTIRE map’s help. Thanks for nothing.
Airship Cargo Strap is a trophy required for the Magister’s Pack collection.
However the description says this: Successfully complete the Verdant Brink map meta-event cycle.
While the actual requirement is: Awarded upon successfully reaching tier 4 during the nighttime meta-event in Verdant Brink.
Why is a collection piece dependent on the success of an entire map? With the declining participation in VB I have yet to see a T4 map lately. Why is my success dependent on all the other players? I could see if we had to kill the boss at the end, like Mordremoth, to access his reward chest. But even if you only kill one boss in VB you get a reward and you don’t get a “Failed Event” message. The Airship Cargo Strap should be rewarded after the meta is complete, no matter the tier. Totally unfair in its current state.
My main character, who had already finished the story lines, apparently wasn’t eligible to finish it.
That should have been obvious since the items given as part of the story steps’ rewards and those rewards are only given once per character. It was never possible to repeat a story on a character to get rewards multiple times.
It’s not obvious. The achievement doesn’t mention anything about being locked away from a character who has finished the story. And if that character has never gotten a drop from an open achievement it should drop for them if they repeat it. If anything there should be a note in the achievement or with the item that is supposed to drop.
The items that can’t be gotten by a character who has finished that particular story line should have a note saying “Can only be dropped for a character who has not finished this part of the story”.
Was able to finish it on my character who started it. My main character, who had already finished the story lines, apparently wasn’t eligible to finish it. At least I didn’t have to guess which toon it was since my Rev was only the second toon to go that far. Still think it’s stupid to have an invisible requirement. It should be stated in the achievement that such a requirement is needed and who it is who started it.
Which makes no sense. Why does it have to be a certain character? Achievements, unless class specific, shouldn’t be “soulbound”.
