So I decided to purchase 5 dyes from the BLTP for 500 gems. Well, I got nothing of note(standard somewhat common dyes), not a single one of the Solar or Lunar dyes. If I was smart I would have read the small print better. There are 26(?) possible dyes, but only 6 are the new ones. Pretty sneaky way to get you to bye gems, hoping that you will get a new dye. Not purchasing this one again – that was REAL money down the drain.

It’s a big problem that really won’t be stopped and can’t be, even if ranks were hidden. The driver is in front of the group 90% of the time so they’re easy to identify.

Only real solution is for commanders to be running tankier builds, like nomad or sentinel with durability or melandru runes.

I still don’t see why this is a big problem. It’s called Guild WARS. There is nothing fair in a war. Targeting the commander is a proper tactic and there is nothing wrong or illegal with it. If you can’t stand being targeted don’t tag up. And if you commander is being targeted keep him/her healed and condi clean. Oh, and stay close to him/her so the enemy has a hard time sniping him/her in the first place.

So moral of the story:
If you can’t stand being targeted, don’t tag up.
If you’re going to whine about being targeted, don’t tag up.
If you think your commander is being sniped, stay ON tag.
If you keep getting targeted look into the reason why you are so east to target. Are you a huge norn with a fire sword? A huge Charr with big wings? A high WvW ranked player?

To lessen the burden of pin sniping:

1. Stop leaping so far in front of your zerg
2. Don’t always trail in front of your zerg, have tanky people next to you & try to blend in with your buddies
3. Assign a back up commander if things go south
4. Bait their bomb first; their skills will be on CD
5. Rotate your stab accordingly (if Moa’d, fall back) and this is under the assumption you have a rev giving out resistance appropriately
6. For very organised play; assign 1-2 mesmers that can grant AoE distortion upon engaging enemy zergs to avoid possible Moa/pulls etc. Although this skill is extremely short in use, using it appropriately will give you the upper hand
7. Record yourself sometimes. You’d be surprised how many personal mistakes are made such as leading too far away from the rest of your zerg, fighting on bad terrain etc. Learn from your mistakes and improve!

It is extremely easy to know who is driving a zerg simply via the movement of the blob. It always has been. These days it’s made even easier by placing squad markers on enemy drivers.

You can run, but you cannot hide.

Add to this – Have as many people as possible look exactly the same as you and make sure you have good teammates who stay really close. A good zerg moves as one.

Honestly though, this is a ridiculous thread. Taking out commanders has always been the best way to win a battle. It’s done all the time in real life and video games. Next thing you know the OP will want invulnerability granted to anyone who tags up.

I believe the issue is you loaded in after the WP expired and thus got booted back to spawn. And whenever this happens, load times are greatly increased, possibly lasting forever even when you normally load in seconds.

Actually, that’s part of the problem. We went as soon as it was available but due to certain server/lag/load issues by the time we loaded we were in Citadel. That’s the issue I’m trying to have addressed.

I don’t know if anyone else(server, guild, player) has experienced this issue so I figured I would bring this up.

Basically the issue is when you take the EWP to go and aid your server there are times when, even though you take it immediately upon activation, that you get sent to Citadel. We’ve had this happen many times. Our Zerg actively knows that the EWP is about to be pulled and we take it. Then we suddenly get a huge load time and end up being sent away from the EWP. Thus, the EWP becomes useless and we have to run a long way.

Several issues could be affecting this:
1. Load time(I personally have quick load times but for some reason this EWP issue creates a delayed load time)
2. Server lag
3. Blob lag(by the enemy server or combination of ally and enemy)

So why can’t there be an algorithm in place that allows players that selected EWP while it was active to be able to appear where it was? Yes, more coding.

I haven’t seen a single DEV on our server in 2 years. And from our match up this week I can see why they never come to our server anymore. This current match up is proof that the DEVs truly only pay attention to a few servers and try to make them happy.

Sorry if this is so negative. But the DEVs seem to only run with the servers that are on the giving end of the beat down. We know that at least one DEV is on of the servers because we saw something claimed by ANeT. If the DEVs working on WvW want to get a true vision of how WvW is going and the problems that exist they should go to the losing servers. We would give them our TS info and invite them in. And trust me, as one of the TS admins, if any gives them kitten or treats them bad, I will have words with offender and put them in the timeout room.

That is very true. But at least in the RNG there should always at least be a guaranteed puzzle, challenge, and bounty. And duplicate missions should also not occur.

That wouldn’t be RNG.

But it would guarantee variety, which is also needed.

It reduces the number of possible combinations which reduces the variety.

But having 3 of one kind of mission truly reduces variety. And having duplicates definitely reduces variety.

It’s been more than 2 weeks in a row for the lack of variety that there used to be. At one time you could actually expect at least 1 puzzle, 1 challenge and 1 bounty. This has been occurring for more than a month. For about 3 weeks in a row we had duplicate puzzles and challenges, not to mention duplicate races 2 weeks in a row. We’d have 3 bounties, and 2 treks. Then we started getting no puzzles. Now we have 3 races and 3 treks with no puzzles with 1 challenge and 1 single target bounty.

Simply put there is something wrong with the variety aspect of the RNG. Too many times in a row we’ve had very little different to choose from. There’s more variety in the type of WvW mission we receive compared to the other pve missions.

You can be a pew pew and spit on the idea like several of you obviously are, and seem to enjoy doing, but our guild loves guild mission night. It’s something to look forward to. With lack of variety guildies get frustrated and slowly start to see no reason to come. This is a quality of life issue. Before this string of duplication there was actually a variety to choose from instead of just a harder version of the same puzzle, challenge or trek. At least the level of Bounties have different targets, albeit limited in number.

So if you don’t think anything is wrong, you can ignore this thread, since you obviously haven’t been paying attention to what guild missions have been popping up. I’d like to hear if other guild mission loving guilds have also noticed this trend.

But 3 races, 3 treks, duplicate puzzles and challenges for 2 weeks in a row at one point shows there is something wrong with at least the variety generator in the RNG. There should be something in there to stop it from issuing 3 of one kind of mission.

For the umteenth week in a row the selection of Guild Missions have been so poor. No puzzles at all this week.
So this weeks choices are 3 races, 3 treks, 1 challenge, and 1 single target bounty? Come on, a little more randomness.

Now examples of more poor randomness in the past weeks include – duplicate puzzles and duplicate challenges.

Yep, with Gaile Gray and all the others. I use my Star, Princess, Mawdry, Herta and the two Sentient thingies to keep the amount down to my storage limit. If I ever need a lot of these materials suddenly I like to keep my capacity as full as possible(Just in case ANeT comes up with another use for them).

This will come up more often.

If they adopted the stealth system from blade and soul, it would probably be alot better. You can stealth repeatedly, there aren’t any reveal skills, but taking damage in stealth reveals you. Stealth skills also last for a much longer time too. And also you aren’t completely invisible. When a player stealths, you see a shimmering outline of them when they move. And there’s no aoe limit in that game either. And the assassin has nowhere near the mobility thief has in gw2. Just remove all the reveal skills, and make it so taking damage breaks stealth.

I also think that, because stealth requires being sneaky, the thief movement should be set to walking. No more full speed running in stealth. Another condition for removing stealth traps and reveals.

Get rid of spiking from stealth, the ludicrous amount of time you can stealth, make the stealth cool downs as long as my signet of stone cool down and then maybe we’ll talk about removing one of the few ways that we can trap and kill cowardly stealth thieves.

I know many thieves who never use stealth and in all honesty, don’t need it. They take on and defeat their opponents without it.

I haven’t had a single one drop this year.

I have yet to see a single Dev on our server these days. I see them often on other servers that we are facing and they claim objectives. And they run their tags often. They just don’t seem to like our server. We feel unloved.

I know that the Devs play WvW. I know this because I see them on every other server but ours. I see camps, towers and keeps claimed by the Devs on every other server but ours. I see Devs in the zergs of every other server but ours.

Run on some of the other servers, including ours. We’ve had our shots and don’t bite, most of the time. So spread the love around a little more so we don’t feel left out.

Is there something running in the background of your computer? Are you running raptor or anything like it? Does it happen when the Mouth of Mordy is going up the tree? Or is it right as you kill him? Is your graphics card struggling? Are you downloading anything at the same time or is anyone in your house accessing something large?

I managed to get the suets and the grawl firestones by doing this:

- Went to Story Jornal: Living World Season 3 > A crack in the Ice > Restart this episode
- Replayed the story chapters from the begaining of “Precious Aurene” (in Auric Bassin) to the end of “Elixir Cookin”

I got the suet drops from Icebrood wolves and Corrupted spiders.
The NPC starts to sell the Firestones after completeing the heart, making the offering to the grawl “godess” and talking to “Veteran Hooga Dizdiz” next to it.

Hope this helps everyone.

The important thing to remember is that you shouldn’t have to do what you just did to get the stone and the suets. The thing is still bugged, period.

Finally cleared up in time for our Theme night in WvW to kick off. Thank goodness.

In the past 15 or so minutes multiple massive lag spikes and DCs have been happening. Many in Ember bay have been talking about it. I’ve DC’d at least 3 times and had lag spikes hit me more than that.

I was expecting an update or patch of some kind today. Alas, we are still left with a broken daily and no way into the frozen area that requires the elixir.

No, it doesn’t fix it. I restarted mine to do achievements. When the achievements were done I didn’t quit the story right away. I went over to the heart to purchase the firestone and it was not on the list. Suets also stopped dropping. I quit the story, hoping it would clear up, but no, I caught the bug. That was over a week ago.

Key drops are not what this thread is about. This thread is about the grawl firestone not being available and the suets not dropping. Please stay on message.

This bug has existed since the release of the latest living story and it still isn’t fixed. I hoping that the next update on Tuesday addresses it correctly. When I read the last “fix” I had the feeling that it wasn’t being fixed and I was right.

So ANeT – suets still aren’t dropping and the firestone still doesn’t show up on the NPC’s menu.

Not new. Many of us have had this happen. You way point to spawn of an enemy BL and you end up in the other enemy BL.

True. Mine is linked since I played GW1 and wanted to make sure I received achievements from my GW1 account.

I detect a little sarcasm here.

Basically the best thing ANeT could do is to unlink the entire Elixir making quest from the story.

The problem here is that the Elixir creation is a DAILY in the zone. Also, the elixir is required to go into the freezing zone without which you die very fast.

So here is the problem – the programmers fix one part of the issue while neglecting the whole other part. What needs to be done is to have it unlocked from the story itself. You can’t have a daily “You must start the story over EVERY day just to get the daily done” daily.

Please fix this issue soon. Very soon. Separate it from the story requirement, period.

Yes, the suet drop is another problem as well. I’ve kill hundreds of enemies that are supposed to drop them and haven’t gotten a single one since the bug hit me.

My problem cleared up the morning. Last night I gave up after an hour. And checked before bed and still not working. This morning, it works. No idea.

So. I finished the story and the journal closed: Heart Vendor sells Grawl Firestones. Restarted story to do an achievement in the last instance. Heart vendor stopped selling the stones. Closed story again. Vendor still sells no grawl firestones.

Suggestion: last story instance should give a soulbound elixer or permanent firestone or something. In case of an unlimited uses firestone players still have to go to the geyser, but no longer need to worry about the grawls.

Or just make the firestone always available on the vendor instead of story based to avoid bug.

The bug only occurred when I restarted the story to get the achievements done. No idea if that caused it, but another friend now has the same problem.

Mine finally cleared up this morning and I was able to log into the game and get onto the forums without a problem.

I’m still wondering what caused this.

I’m getting the basic page with no graphics so I hope this gets posted.

A guildie of mine is having the same issue as I am. The only similarities is that we are both on COX Communications for our ISP and live in the same city. Both our internets are working perfectly, except for GW2.

Oh, for some reason I can log into GW1.

I’m trying to log in and pressed the icon to activate GW2. All I’m getting is the Downloading 0KB (0 KB/SEC) and then the error message about not being able to connect.

I’ve restarted my modem, router and computer. I have no issues with the internet or teamspeak, just with GW2 right now. I was playing earlier and took a 3 hour break and now can’t log back in.

Not only does Summer not sell me the firestone but I haven’t had a single suet drop for me after hundreds of enemy kills. Is that part of the bug too.
