In the old GW you were able to use extra skills by not having the pet. In this case, if you didn’t understand, if we are able to stow a pet permanently(until you change your build as an example) you get the damage difference you would have had with it. And you don’t have to worry about it dying in 2 seconds in a zerg or to the one-shot bosses.

Permanent stow pet only if we get the damage difference we’d be missing by not having one.

I command on a ranger, with great success. It all depends on your community. Staying alive and contributing positively to the raid generally overcomes the bias. But there are elitists out there who will forever remain scum.

No worries, everyone. The extreme limits that the free to play folks will have won’t affect you at all. It’s a lure to get them to purchase the full game.

My friend actually destroyed an ascended item, which he got back, even with the “are you sure” question. He had accidentally double-clicked on a blue item which doesn’t require confirmation to wear. Then he tried to salvage an item, the ascended, and destroyed it unknowingly. If they don’t give us gear locking, they should at least require us to type the full name of an item, like ascended gear, much like the stupid useless items that are worth nothing and no longer used.

A guildie of mine would like to be able to lock his armor in place so double-clicking doesn’t simply shift a piece of something like blue armor for ascended armor. Same thing for weapons. A simple heck box that locks your items in place until you un-check it would be a wonderful addition to my hero equipment panel.

My guild mate is not receiving the benefits of the trait. While I get the reduction of recharge and the might boost, he does not. We compared last night and just looking at one signet – Signet of the Wild – my recharge was 48 seconds while his was still 60 seconds, plus he did not see the might boost in the description.

Strange one but:
Dance Fest: Players must enter dance mode while near each other. Add attack skills like break dance spinning or Texas 2-step kicks, or Head Banging strike. Would be interesting in zerg battles – one big mosh pit.

As much fun as golem rush week was at the beginning, it didn’t need to last a full week. Friday thru Sunday would have sufficed. The scores should have also been turned off for the week with no server gaining or losing glico or rank.

Teq was a very normally timed take down last night after the July 7 patch. Of course, everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing. We had Teq down at about the 8 min mark. Heck, most of the bosses seemed normal again.

Actually the part I don’t like is that it was only done to make the event last longer instead of “BALANCE”. And last longer most world boss events do. I saw my first Golem Mk II failure yesterday. Normally the number of folks we had would have been able to do it, but not anymore. You need far more people to complete it now. Shadow Behemoth is even worse. An event that normally takes 3-4 portal rounds to complete is now 7-9(hit 9 portal events yesterday). You can barely scratch his HP bar these days. Come on, ANeT, fix the balance correctly. Don’t do it for your bruised ego of adding in no condi limits and discovering the detrimental effects on your bosses. It wreaks of poor lazy programing.

Seriously Anet, Devs please keep this going. I think that if this keeps up you will get a lot of those people back that you had at launch with these promises! World bosses / PvE is starting to actually get fun again, not just a boring task to get 1-3 rares and then move on. THANK YOU!

Simply doubling HP for a boss is pure and utter laziness. ANeT, you are better than this.

Melee Golem Mk II just because they have melee or aoe crit only(which is very broken or just very poorly thought out if that’s the only way to hit it) is stupid. All parts on the bosses should be crit available.

Some of the bosses which seem to have maintained some sense of balance(won’t say fun but aren’t as kittenome) are ones like the Jormag event. It is still fairly balanced. Shatterer is about right, I like the Great Wurm change(it is actually slightly challenging now), Fire Elemental is about the same(still easy), Karka Queen is about the same now, Taihda is the same basically, and Modniir Ulgoth is about the same now.

So the ones that are in need of fixing from my daily runs are these 4: Tequatal, Golem Mk II and Shadow Behemoth(not challenging just long and boring now), the Frozen Maw is also just a 1111 fest now with tons of people and takes way too long.

One thing I’d like to get back that we lost in the patch was the +5% damage that vanished with Eagle Eye. We got the range but lost the damage.

So reading through this, the fix is obvious, and needed across all the world bosses that got buffed anyway: Fix the crit spots.

The maps that beat Teq stack melee on the crit spot. That is the key strat. Make all his hitboxes critable and he’s back to being challenging without requiring special gear, builds, and character selection (seriously, who thinks a world boss should be melee only? Challenge is one thing, being that narrow in your requirements is quite the other.)

The other bosses need their crit spots fixed mostly because currently they are just dull slogs. SB, Maw, Shatt, etc. taking twice as long as they did before the 6/23 patch is not an improvement for anyone.

Nicely put. Simply making them take longer is not the answer. Players get tired of fighting a Boss in a 15th level zone that takes forever to kill. SB has gotten ridiculous in this matter. It takes 7-8 portal phases to kill him now, where it took 3-4 before condi(and about 1-2 with condi).

And today was even “better”. We got to the 2nd battery phase and the clock was down to 7 seconds and suddenly jumped up to 12. We failed due to a megalaser wipe out due to the lovely glitch. At this rate folks are going to stop wasting their time on a badly thought out “fix” plus all the glitches. I know I will stop. I wasn’t the only one who noticed the nasty clock glitch. Unless it was deliberate on ANeT’s part to make sure there are more failures.

And here’s to 50 minutes of wasted time.

As was stated probably many many times, simply doubling Teq’s HP was not the answer. A +50% boost maybe. Before the update on condi being king Teq would go down on the average at about 8 minutes. On the first day of condi he went down at 12 minutes in my instance.

Now, post Friday HP boost it took us until the 6:30 mark to get to the very first battery phase. And then the burn failed by a slight margin. And when he appeared to be at half health he never entered in to the next battery phase. We had around 3:45 left when he most likely hit half health. We could have done it. Well, anyway, the fix was not a fix, it was simply a way to make the event take longer. First Teq fail I’ve seen in 3 months.

On a side note: another side-effect was players that were used to first battery phase happening at around 9 min or so, players started leaving using the “gg cya” phrase.

If people actually read the progression of my tests after my first, and obviously incorrect observation, Rapid-fire is just as it was before(only longer range due to 1500 rng). As I said I tested it in areas like Frostgorge against Jormag before reset and the damage was nearly identical. so I was satisfied after that that my initial panic was un-needed. And after reset, at Tequatal, I confirmed it even more. My direct damage was identical to pre-patch.

So, in conclusion, sorry for starting a panic. I usually wait until others post about something and test it myself to see if what they are saying is true. This time I jumped the “bow” and posted in a panic.

Final test was in Frostgorge against Jormag. I believe everything is fine now. The damage output seemed to be almost normal.

It seemed ok for Jormag, but I was getting lots of buffs from might. And the amount of damage I was doing to him in the first phase seemed correct. So it may not be nerfed at all.

I may just have imagined it was so much less. I should have looked at that number before logging off last night.

I’ll be able to truly notice at Jormag and Teq. At Jormag I can do 10,000 total on the build up for the ice crystals you knock down on the second part. On Teq I usually get from 10,000 to 12500 on the burn phase. So I’ll see in about 30 minutes when Jormag is up.

The info on the wiki hasn’t been updated.

ANeT, why such a massive reduction? Is that a glitch. There is nothing written in the notes about nerfing rapid-fire so much.

We were having the same issue in the red BL tonight as well. Everyone vanished and I could only see my party members. way pointing was the only way to reset it. I’d see the dots of others in my mini-map but nothing else.

There were massive lag spike issues earlier today as well. At Golem Mk II everyone was getting lag spikes during the boss fight. The happened all the way until the end of the fight.

Re: Masteries, they are not like the skill bar now because as you get more advanced Masteries, the XP required to unlock them goes up. It’s not a static number across all mastery levels.

I thought the quadrupling of the exp required for the 2 level of gliding was ridiculous. I could see doubling it. Are they going to make you get eight times that required for 3 level? Lots of grinding for exp.

Have they even announced any new wvw specialties to spend our wvw rank points on? Why not create an applied fortitude/vitality line separate from the guard stuff?

Twice today during Shatterer and Jormag the entire zone reset, kicking everyone from the zone we were in, placing us in the far south of the zone each time. For Shatterer it wasn’t so bad. We just redid the pre-events. Unfortunately for Jormag we were on the second stage of the event and we were all kicked from the zone to the south and there was no boss event to do.

But I did notice that the +5% damage is missing from the baseline. Saw t hat on the Dulfy page.

A simple understandable trait system is best. You should stick with it. This new example looks like LOTRO. But obviously you’ve made up your minds to complicate the system and we can’t change it. Look what happened when you changed the original trait system. The vast majority hated it and it was poorly thought out.

How is the current system better? How is it simpler? 99% of possible builds in the old system are complete crap. For example stuff like 1/1/6/5/1 with all Adept Traits, and that’s just an extreme example. Why would you want a system that has so many traps and pitfalls? Why would you think its simpler? What part of it do you prefer over this? Is it just an issue you have with the UI?

With the new system it will be much harder to create these kind of obscene crap combinations, since you’ll always get 3 Adept, 3 Master, AND 3 Grandmaster traits. The choices are a bit more limited, but it makes them much more meaningful. I’m not sure how this isn’t a simpler method. You can’t actually go wrong with this.

Simple is better. The example I looked at along with the graphics are a close comparison to LOTRO’s. LOTRO created a tree-like system and you applied points to the tree which opened up other parts of the tree and it was never really clear and was not easy to use. So, simple is better. And I’ve never seen anyone run a 1/1/1/6/5/1 build once they understood the way things work. Again, simple is better. Lots can go wrong when you complicate the process.

My problem is that in pretty much every corner of this game you find people leeching / farming / afking. It’s gotten crazy. People at world boss chains don’t do pre-events. SW has people afking on the cliffs. WvW has people farming OS and kill trading. PvP has win-trading.

I wish they’d implement a reward to those doing the pre-events. If you’ve done “x” number of pre-events, once the final boss is killed, you get at least one extra rare and more of a chance at exotics, plus maybe 20% more karma, gold and experience.

I love the ones who participate in the boss fight and then go stand on a ledge where they aren’t attacked. The whole event is about to fail due to the loss of siege carriers and they do nothing.

Rng is bs….took me 24 successful Vinewraith’s to get the last coat box while others were telling me it was automatic on a win as they were getting them every time. I have 148% MF at a base rate so it’s not like my MF is super low. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!

I had over 200% MF without the silverwaste boost and it 55 total tires to get the final coat box. Something very wrong in how this was dealt with. Since then I’ve been back 4 times or so over the past month. One or twice to use my keys and shovels, and once or twice for dailies or guild events. The RNG fiasco ruined silverwastes for me and any fun I was having.

I ended up using my gold to exchange for gems. At least that function was working. Took about 86 gold when I did it.

Would be nice if ANeT extended the deadline to buy the wings another 12 hours after the current one ends – and make sure the purchase part for gems is actually working.

It’s been 8 hours and I still can’t buy gems. Same error. At this rate I won’t be able to buy the wings.

I sent a ticket in with the screen shot earlier.

Hopefully you’re working on this. I can’t use my card to purchase gems on the BLTP. Get the error message the an error has occurred and to try later. Plus you have the new wings on a timer and I can’t buy them currently.

ANeT should try and experiment. Have 4 servers go at it. Yes, 4 BLs and 4 areas in EBG. It would be an interesting sight to see.

In our current match-up it has been discovered that there are exploits into Hills and Garrison. I won’t say what they are because I hope ANET is aware of them. If not, ANET can ask me and I’ll tell them.
My concern is, will you please fix these exploits ANET? They are being abused right now.

That’s overwhelming feeling of those of us who had to do so many vine events to get the coat box drop. I think I’ve been there maybe 3 times since in the last 2 weeks. Basically to use up my shovels and to help a friend. Other than that ANeT ruined a nice area with that stupid drop only from the vine idea.

I have done 34 successful vinewarth events and opened 34 end-chests and still only got the one coat box from the achievement. This is not fun. I have now 7500 bandit crests and 150 silverwastes shovels but will take a longer break from the silverwastes because I do not want to feel unlucky there, again.

Like others have already mentioned: For those players that are this unlucky, the coat box should be sold by the vendor in the silverwastes like all the other carpace boxes.
