Atm on SFR, hearing reports from other ppls, SEEMS that we’re fighting a different set of servers depending on the map.
Homeland is sfr deso koda
Eb is sfr vs elonaIt’s hilarious.

This reset is such a mess.No more hassle with tiers ratings and servers!
All mashed randomly in the maps, kill everything that moves!
LOL That would explain a lot.
Hickeroar is just a /facepalm. Anyone with a clue can see how borked this is.
What am I missing?
Arbor is currently ticking at +545. Who’s getting crushed again?
Check again in 3 days time. It is not like the first hour or so after reset is really representitive of a 7 day event.
I hardly think a server who can turn the entirety of EBG green on reset night is in danger of getting “crushed.” Typically it’s a challenge to take even a single tower on reset night.
Arbor is currently ticking at +545. Who’s getting crushed again?
arborstone gonna get crushed good job Anet
They finished the first tick with twice as many points as the other two servers.
I have to wonder if this isn’t a sign that things HAVE been borked for a while.
I guess we’ll see!
Your note on armor repairs is awesome. When the outmanned buff is up, players push harder, have more engaging fights. They don’t worry about repairing their armor, so it’s a reason to go in head first. If armor repairs are free in WvW, though, a lot of people are going to pop into a BL just for the free repair then leave and go back to PvE. Adding some kind of guild/server buff might work, or putting a few “repair vouchers” into each reward chest might help.
Could avoid that problem by making it so that you just don’t sustain armor damage while in WvW, like the outmanned buff already does. This means that if you got damaged doing something out in PvE land, you still have to pay for it to fix it.
Yeah, this is pretty much what I meant, and then they could remove the repair merchants from WvW entirely.
1-2 gold profit????
I’m a Commander for the NSP server. On a typical night I will spend 1-2 gold in siege, repairs, tower upgradeds and such. Only time I have ever made a profit in WvW is on the odd chance I get a rare or better drop I can sell on the TP. This happens once every week or 2. On reset I will spend up to 8 gold….. I do not lead a huge zerg, just usualy 10-15 players trying to flip camps and or towers in Borderlands
I often have to take a break from WvW just to save up enough gold to continue supporting my guild. They are good about donations, but not every player can spend 4-5 hours in game daily. Many are good to get in 2 on the weekdays and 2-4 on weekends. I don’t understand how people can make any money in WvW….
I should have been more specific. This is when I’m just following a commander, or in a guild group.
When I command…I spend money like crazy. It’s definitely a money-sink in that regard.
Would love to see some suggestions in this regard as well…
So like….is TC going up against SOR on reset? I must have missed something :x
No one knows yet. It’s gonna have that new “partial random” system in place.
I don’t see this as a problem. If you’re running gear/food that gives you these benefits, you’re sacrificing something else.
I think the devs have made good strides with the rank chests toward making WvW more lucrative for players. That said, WvW is still one of the lowest-income activities in the game. In 5 hours of WvW I usually make around 1-1.5 gold after repairs. Sometimes we have a good night and I make around 2g. Pretty much any activity in PvE at level 80 for five hours will net you quite a bit more than 1.5g.
I propose three things to help with this:
1) WXP was doubled for all events, and WXP rewards were added to Veterans, Lords, Supers, etc. This was good. I would suggest either adding another 50% to these rewards, or at least doubling player kill WXP as well. You can still only rank at the “intended” once-per-hour if you’re part of a megazerg flipping things endlessly.
2) Find a better way to distribute loot. The bag system was a good idea, but far too many bags are lost on the field. If you get that kill, you should be guaranteed to get the monetary reward for it. Three ideas: A) Allow players to loot the bags collecting around them once they’re dead. B ) Have loot automatically deposit into bags. C) Barring “B,” have a “compensation” NPC at spawn which we can visit to collect all our loot.
3) Given that dying is just a part of WvW, it truly doesn’t make sense that we have to pay for armor repairs. I think armor repairs are one of the first things that need to go. I’m a little surprised they’ve made it this far.
Anyone have other ideas for making WvW more rewarding financially?
Had a really good time, and it went about as well as we expected. xD
It was our first time doing a GvG and we learned a bunch.
I think that static field was an FA trying to cause a brawl, so no worries. It had a red ring for us.
GG guys! Hope we get a chance to do that again down the road!
(edited by Hickeroar.9734)
Honestly, if thieves bother you, bring stealth traps and run in a group. When they start harassing your group, have a player drop a trap.
We did this today and I bet that DB General was really confused when his shadow refuge was followed quickly by his death.
TC and FA really need to end their truce already, it’s getting very old.
Yeah, the FA I’ve been killing all week (and those who have been killing me) definitely love this great truce we’re in. /rolleyes
It wasn’t meant to be negative at all. It’s happened to TC several times, and we always bounce back. The first two weeks you guys were here, many of our guilds took a two week haitus due to scheduling issues, burnout, etc. The fairweathers just stopped showing up because our score didn’t look “competitive” enough. Morale drooped for those who didn’t know that people really just needed a break for a couple weeks.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of, or scared of. It just happens.
The way I see it, a server has a standard level of morale, burnout, and fairweathers. In the first two weeks, the levels were high/low/high which means good turnout. I think the levels have returned back to normal, as opposed to your suggestion, which that those levels are low/high/low.
/shrug
Maybe so. I just didn’t wanna sell DB short or anything.
probably just found the current really really bad LFG tool thats already in game.
No, this one has reference to looking for specific dungeons and such. The current one is just a blue flag that shows up next to your name.
This is definitely not the same thing.
Recruitment thread progression:
DB: Come join our community. we’re pretty cool.
Other servers esp. TC and FA: Db sucks they are full of jerks.
DB: no we’re pretty cool and proud of it.
Other servers: Wagon Brand, Wagon Brand!!!
DB: Come on, we made it to T2 without transfers.
Other servers: cricket, cricket…You got transfers we Hate you!!!
DB: but thats because we’re a pretty cool community.and on, and on, and on…
That’s a pretty self-serving post consisting of nothing more than imaginations on your part.
No one thinks DB are jerks.
DB did become a bandwagon server. It’s just a fact. There’s even a quote from Loki of NNK floating around about it. This happens to lots of servers, and I personally don’t see too much of a problem with it. It only becomes a problem when a FULL server is still trying to recruit. They couldn’t transfer to DB even if they wanted to…
Yes, DB did get to T2 mostly on their own. The transfers mostly had nothing to do with that. Transferring your guild to a winning server is a “bandwagon” move. That is where the reputation/allegations come from.
There is no mostly about it…
I don’t know the history of DB. The only guild I wasn’t sure about was Agg. Didn’t they have something to do with the rise of DB in T3, or did they transfer in late like everyone else?

3) TC tries to recruit too so stop being a hypocrite
Nerf hippo precision!
Ok i give.
I dont get it.

3 weeks ago DB had MASSIVE participation, why that’s changed only you guys can answer.
I think it boils down to three basic things:
A) Morale
B) Burnout
C) FairweathersThose are some pretty generic reasons that point to somewhat of a negative attitude. I tend to think the reasons are less dramatic. For example the push into T2 motivated a lot of people to play more and put in longer hours. After that initial rush, the participation dropped back down to what you might call “normal”. That is people return to their normal schedule, the status quo, because the excitement of moving up to T2 has worn off, and many of us still have lives outside of gaming that we were perhaps neglecting those first couple weeks in T2.

Wow that RE thread is causing so much drama it cannot be contained within one thread!
It can, except Goat felt like bringing the discussion here to let everyone know that I’m mentally unstable.
Oh come now. You’re insane, just like the rest of us on TC. <3
Wow that RE thread is causing so much drama it cannot be contained within one thread!
I’m just a little flabbergasted that FULL servers are trying to recruit. That’s….completely illogical. FWIW, I hope they choose FA.

I am LOVING that FA is coming out to play in force. It’s a real pleasure to see FA kicking tail the way they are.
Hope we get matched up against you guys again after the new ranking system goes into effect.
Thief contesting is annoying, yes, but it’s also a solid, valid tactic. I have no problem with it. Every class has some kind of skill that makes it better in some situation, somehow. Thieves are perfect roamers and escape artists. They’re also squishy. /shrug
SET YOUR EXPECTATIONS APPROPRIATELY.
This is not a game breaking bug. It’s annoying, yes, but the game still works fine overall.
Don’t expect a fix until next month’s big patch.
I’ll be happy to be wrong about this though, if they release it sooner.
The loot system in WvW is pretty horrid. They need to just drop your loot in your bags. If you run out of space….you run out of space. Same problem applies now.
Either that or they need a “payout-agent” NPC in spawn where you can go to pick up your loot.
Anyone who gets mesmer pulled off a wall, deserves it. All you have to do is stand back behind the edge of the pakitten t and you’re safe…
It’s been far too long since the patch was released. This needs to be hotfixed. I’d be willing to risk skipping their (already horrid) QA process if we can get a fix for this tonight…
While I was on FABL last night, someone pulled Dawn out of a chest.
Don’t believe you…
Without a video, 10 independent witnesses, a lie detector test and a contract signed in your very own blood, that sends your soul to the depths of hell if you just lied…
Look me up next time you’re online and 35 EP members will confirm my story. :P
Doesn’t matter. He’s in charge of WvW now and there’s been nothing but outrage
A lot of people share your view, but it is not one person’s fault.
It’s the QA department’s fault, if you ask me. They continually allow changes in that haven’t been adequately tested, and regression bugs run rampant every time a release comes out.
They need a huge overhaul.
Oh how I miss the old WvW devs. This game wasn’t nearly as bad until Devon came on board
Devon isn’t a dev, but good try.
I think it’s a bad idea for people to keep suggesting that they move to servers that are Full.
I left T3 because of the heavy zerg nature of the servers. If that is what a player likes, then that is where a player should go. Finding skirmishes in those top tiers can be difficult and small groups will routinely run into 30+ roaming around flipping. If you want the best of both worlds, the mid tiers have a lot to offer.
I really don’t like EBay on the forums, but for a T5 server they really do run a lot of tight WvW focused guilds that I would deem hardcore. Rekz may be kittens on the forums but they run a 20+ man zerg that is as good as I have seen. They also have guilds like GF that are fierce in their skirmishing. GH keeps players in camps and calls in their larger cavalry very well. Very organized and they have some really good players. That said a few do frequently behave very poorly on the forums which IMO reflects poorly on their server overall… sore winner comes to mind and reminds me of Maguuma when they are on a tear.
On these T5 servers, is WvW dead when its not prime time? I am really looking for servers that are always active.
Pretty much anything T1 or T2 is always going to have something going on. A lot of T3 servers are gonna be pretty active as well.
Below that, it’s hard to say.
Spoken like someone from a server with numbers.
I was gonna say the opposite. It’s boring stealing the same structure back and forth time and time again. Defense is simply a game of “who has more players on the map, or the more well-disciplined zerg” now.
Siege is a huge party of this game. The fact that we can’t use it ruins that side of the game.
Honestly I would have to say JQ or FA.
Given the recent “Boon” to the FA community, I personally hope they go to FA. It’s been a real joy to watch some of the classic FA guilds come out to play again over the last week or so.
While I was on FABL last night, someone pulled Dawn out of a chest.
WvW right now is not WvW is a karma train of ppl farming wxp. All I see is zergs of 50-80 ppl with 5 to 7 golems. At this point in t2 everything is paper
Yeah, last night we dealt with the same thing in FABL. We kept taking Garri and hills back and forth, back and forth. No one could build siege to defend, so it just ended up as a massive zerg fight (against a door) every 10 minutes to retake stuff that was taken back.
The WvW point game is pretty much ZvZ until this gets fixed.
Granted, the fights were VERY fun, but it’s definitely not how the game was “intended” to be played.
ANet: “Here, have some free stuff for something you were going to do anyway.”
QQers: “Sorry, but that free stuff isn’t good enough. By the way, you guys suck for giving us sub-par free stuff.”
Seriously guys, do you READ what you post? GET OVER IT. We’d all be playing with or without these rankings and chests. You’re getting something for nothing and you have the audacity to complain about it.
Does TC have EU guilds or just massive pop that goes in from differen guilds as militia?
We have pretty good coverage by guilds in EU/Oceanic/NA. The guild groups are also buffed by PuGs as well. Some of our SEA/Oceanic/EU guilds are kinda on the small side, but have good leaders that PuGs seem to follow. Our late NA is just huge, obviously. We queue three maps some nights…
Militia dear. Militia.
Sorry. “Pug” is a bad word. xD
“buffed by militia.”
I will say that I’ve always been impressed by the ability of TC militia to hold a map together without any single point of leadership (commander/guild/etc). We can pretty much leave EBG without a commander for hours at a time and the militia keeps all our stuff green.
ANet just has serious issues with their regression testing. Their QA processes really need an overhaul because they are clearly not up to snuff. Every patch comes with a whole fistful of nasty bugs.
The new content is great, and we love ANet for it, but some of the stuff they break in the process, and the amount of time it takes them to fix it, just irritate the heck out of players. I know a player who straight up quit GW2 because they were so tired of dealing with the bugs.
We really have no idea which server to transfer too right now.
But we know what we are looking for. Stop the drama here please xD
One thing you can try is transferring a guildie (or two) to each of your short-list servers and having them get the feel of them over the course of a week.

I wouldn’t call it a hack, but there are weird spots all over the place where you can score the determined buff when you shouldn’t be able to.
It’s more of a general “exploit” due to a game buff.
However, I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was intentional on this guy’s part. Might have just been coincidence.
Honestly, I’m not gonna complain about free loot handed to me for doing nothing more than I’d already be doing anyway. Without ranks and chests I’d still be doing exactly what I’m doing.
On TC is depends on the reset night. Some nights there will be queues on all maps for five or more hours. Some of the queues are 2+ hours long. Other reset nights the queues only last for maybe two hours, and the queue times are around 10-15 minutes.
Always four queued maps though… If you can get in right at the start, the fights are unparalleled.
Quick score update. Hoping that siege bug gets fixed soon for all of our sakes!
I just want you to know that your naked zerg yesterday in FABL made me grin, and I used fireworks and /cry ’d on you guys when we had to unceremoniously end it a few times. Hopefully we get to have a joint firework parade again some day soon!
Glad you guys appreciated it! I definitely noticed your guild tags around as well (and remember our guys ran into yours in EB). It’s about having fun while playing hard : )
I was commanding our merry crew and was a few drinks deep so you didn’t see our finest battlefield tactics – but we had fun, and I hope you guys did too!
We do this once a week after our guild nights so you will see our staple naked zergs and other variations if our servers fight together in the future
/salute
We have a few guilds who run naked zergs as well. Those are always great fun!
Looking forward to seeing you guys out there in the future. Hopefully the new ranking system gets us all matched up again down the road.
The general opinion goes that the only difference between T1 and T2 is population/attendance. The skill cap is pretty much reached in T2.
Considering what we’ve seen transferring down from T1 servers to T2 servers, I would say that this is absolutely correct. They’re just average-skill guilds to us T2ers.
You’re gonna find an overall more organized, scheduled, disciplined experience in T2/T1. I’d personally go T2 because of the cultural differences though. T1 servers get a bad rap for “Drama” and “Politics.”
Also, I would also consider transferring up to T1/T2 in your shoes. Don’t let naysayers dissuade you. If you’re solo, transfer and don’t feel bad at all.
If you really want to join DB, you need to speak to their community in charge. Apparently, some wanted you to go while others don’t.
DB is full. They probably couldn’t transfer if they wanted to…
All the hate in this thread is just delicious :9
Haters gonna hate! :P
