Why wait for a guild to challenge you. You should go and look for fellow travelers.
However, I do recommend that if you guys go and do GVG to control your spectators. This is a gentleman’s game outside of the normal WVW thing where opponents can be civil and hopefully be friends. Who knows, might play together in the same server in the future or something outside of the game.
If you walk into WvW you’re fair game. No kittens given about your GvGs or duels. If you want to hold hands, go PvE.
And this is why SoR has no good GvG guilds.
TW is an SoR guild and they just beat Agg, who was arguably the “guild to beat.”
for the sake of survival, can there be a peace treaty between SoS and TC to fight vs the endless hordes of rall?
No. We just spent a week where SoS refused to attack SoR. Actions have consequences. You should’ve probably thought ahead and not irritated a server you’ll likely be paired with many times again in the future, seeing as how you’re gaining rating and will likely be stuck in match ups against higher servers for awhile now.
Last night, SoS controlled almost all of SoR’s EBG holdings for a while.
SoS also took SoR’s garrison and hills last night.
SoS focused us plenty too, but stop making junk up trying to make us “look better.”

My counter to that would be…if you mess with a GvG, you’re fair game. (And you’re not going to find many friends coming to your aid.)
Also, if we end up with SoR/TC/SoS again next week…I wouldn’t be surprised if we do better simply because that matchup is awful for SoR. PvDooring all morning long while TC population is at the bottom of its arc is not exciting or rewarding for anyone involved. Our 15-25 per map have no means of competing against SoR’s massive numbers during that timeslot.
This same thing happened LAST week when TC was against FA and SoS. There were a lot of times where SoS was outmanned, and FA/TC could have taken pretty much everything from them…but that’s boring and unrewarding. Who want’s to play that way, yaknow? Most of the time we just found ourselves skirmishing between OL/SM for the fun of it.
We stomped on FEAR and TYSM last night and the night before easily. SoR still had 20 more than we did. After we get through the wells you guys become glass.
This is an interesting rewrite of history.
FEAR stomped on TC repeatedly the night before last. TYSM was stomped the night before last because they were running about 30-40 against our zerg of 70.
Last night we learned some good strategies and ended up winning most of our numbers-even encounters, but “stomped” is still too strong of a word. They were hard won fights, and we still lost some of the fights anyway.
Celebrate our victories, but please don’t represent us badly by saying we stomped a server that has nearly twice our points for the week. We did better against them than anyone anticipated, and if the dragon event hadn’t started this week we would have done even better, but let’s not pretend we actually could have beat SoR.
TC is better than this. Stay classy in our victories, and defeats, mkay?

there is no such thing as too much siege.
Defensively speaking, this is absolutely true. If you own something, you should use all the tools at your disposal to defend it.
Only three walls down? And where is the massive SoR zerg?
Hiding behind the tower in one huge stack. Apparently they dontwant to come out when we siege up like they do.
To be honest I have never seen anyone siege stuff up like you guys do haha.
Not even blackgate uses that many arrow carts.
I figure if it’s behind the wall, it’s fair game. Open field, I think Ballistas/ACs are just cheap tactics, unless you’re defending something like an open field treb, etc.
Fun final night with you guys, SoR. Here’s hoping we all get our wish and land in more “even” matchups next week.
So FA is taking it on the chin? I find that surprising given that FA had been so stable for so long. I wonder how we (SoS) would do against them without any server higher than them in the match.
We’d probably still lose, but only by a little and it would be a nice matchup, at least nicer than the one we are having. I see that TC and DB are the most likely…ughh, make it FA and Mag. That matchup would actually prove something.
If SoS’s Oceanic/SEA coverage transferred to FA…..now THAT would be interesting.
Very interesting.
I fully condone this idea. xD
Why would Oceanics abandon the Official Oceanic server? Unless you are theorizing about what affect a server with 90% of the Oceanic players in the game would have on a matchup; I find that a little offensive.
Oh relax. I had no idea there was such thing as an “official oceanic server.” FA has good NA coverage. Oceanic/SEA would make them extremely strong. I would love a T2 with FA having that kind of coverage.
Also, you may consider checking out the “official” definition of the word “official.”

The weight of random rolls needs to be decreased to 25% or 50% of what it currently is. The current setup just…stinks.
I don’t think anyone on SoR’s assumes anything, BG will be a great fight I’m sure and with all their new transfers, it’s anyone’s fight.
BG got new transfers since we parted ways? Just curious since most of the BG players don’t know about those.
Well, BT and VK transferred there from FA. I’m sure most of them just got there this week since the cap was raised. Not sure about any other guilds.
VK has since disbanded. Although BT is a great guild that can bring a fight anywhere.
Interesting. I had no idea that VK disbanded. Agg got 10 of their members. I wonder what happened to the rest….

Edit: Sorry SoR for stealing ratings away from you! BG is now ahead of you in 2 points ratings.
Those of us in EB made the decision to let the LA Commanders worry about PPT we were looking for some good fights.
It was nice to see SOS out in force this morning. TC we had some fun fights with you as well.
Saw you guys ticking over 300 for a while there.
Also saw that you got that high by taking all your BL stuff back and then taking over half of SoR’s BL. You pretty much left TC alone.
/respect
Hmm… maybe they said they didn’t WANT you to farm. Not that you would never have to.
That seems more fitting.
There are some things in the game you can ONLY get by farming. Obviously they want you to farm.
- Farm CoE
- Farm Sparks in Orr
- Farm the Urban Battlegrounds fractal
- Farm CoF and buy out of TPAnecdotically, you can get some from Heavy Loot Bags, gotten from WvW.
Then realize that ANet designed GW2 so that you would never have to farm….
Wut.
Dear FA,
Its been a long time coming, but I think we both need to hear this.
Do you remember how we met? On top of a pile of dead dolyaks? That was a magical night. There have been a lot of memories between then and now. We’ve had our ups and downs and we wouldn’t undo any of it.
But things have changed FA. Its not you, its us. We’ve grown apart and our relationship just doesn’t have that spark anymore. We’ve been hanging out with SoS and things have been nice. They’ll never replace you, but we need our space.
To put it frankly, I think we should see other servers. We need to get some time away from each other. Otherwise we’ll just end up old and bitter, like two angry pensioners in a nursing home shouting at each other about “2v1!” and “running away!”.
I think some space would be best for everyone. Cheers to what has been an epic bromance.
-TC
No Way.
TC/FA/DB forevah.
I think being the underdog suits SOR better than the reigning champ, having a goal to strive for is more motivating than fighting to keep a crown that gives no perks imo.
This is a similarity with TC. We’ve always come out of the woodwork when we were “Red.” It’s easy to get bored or burned out when you’re “Green.”
TC I MISS YOU!
Perhaps next week we can get back some of that magic we used to have.
I remember more pew pew and less qq with you.
Call me maybe?
/cry.
It’s been great to meet these SoR folks, but I long for a traditional T2 again. If I have to go another week without the ability to roam around WvW on my ele without getting ganked by 40 people…I’m gonna scream.
SOR your necros rock. What kinda necro builds are you guys running?
If you are going up against the TSYM group Im pretty sure most if not all of us are using the same build/gear/tactics that Opysseus came up with. I am sure that if he sees your comment it will go straight to his head. We do seem to have a lot of necromancers recently.
Srsly. I have never seen as many necros in one place as SoR has…
GG TC on SOSBL tonight. 25 TSYM could not hold off your massive EP and CERN groups…
Haha yeah, we had you in the numbers game pretty darn bad there. FEAR brought their massive zerg over and taught us a few lessons after you left. xD
Ahhh Aurust come out to play finally. How nice of him to show up finally.
Honestly I have no idea how much SoR is holding back on us, cuz we’re doing a lot better than the last time we faced them.
I have question, how can you tell that you are doing a lot better than last time knowing that SoR is holding back ?
The score now is no different than the average of our previous matchups even if we holding back.
If you are asking, I would say that TC has grown about as much as SoR since last time we met.
All this has no relevance, most importantly while we here is that we enjoy the game and we are having fun together.Because when I logged on during our previous match up, there’s a 50% chance we wouldn’t even have our Keep on EB.
Ironcically we lost that several times today. xD
Dear Tarnished Coast,
I miss you guys. I had gotten so used to fighting you, and now that you are gone from my life Guild Wars 2 is a little less fun. Why can’t things just go back to the way they were? QQ
We need you guys back to help us 2v1 SoR. SoS & TC don’t quite have the same “understanding” in that regard.
Obviously SoS and TC haven’t completed the “I hate your guts” period of our relationship.
Whoa, nobody wants to 2v1 anybody. I guess it seemed that way these past couple of weeks because we got tired of fighting, and we wanted to see other people. But it was still nice to see you guys on the other third of the map, just in case we wanted to fight you. But it is still good to get break.
But in this match up, most of us actually like Ebay. Maguuma though, is just full of e-thugs straight up calling guilds out. I guess we just understood each other in the end.
Maybe we’ll see you again Friday.
haha, I hope so. I was totes being silly in that post, btw. :P It was weird how TC and FA kinda got over their differences toward the end there.
It’s been an overall pleasure being around SoR this week, but I definitely prefer the old system to this RNG crap. I think we pretty much all can agree on that, if nothing else.
Who’s commanding TCBL right now? They totally snagged back Garri, Bay, and Hills. :-O
No need to get negative. Even though you are getting utterly destroyed when the previous week you thought you may have stood a chance against a tier 1 server.
One player, once upon a time, mentioned that “no one really knows if there’s a gap between T2 and T1” because it’d been static for so long.
You have decided that because of that one remark, ALL T2 SERVERS, especially TC, seem to think we could beat T1 servers.
That is not the case, and never has been….yet you have made it your personal troll campaign and odd obsession for the past couple months. No one from TC went into this week expecting to do amazingly well against SoR. SoR, for all intents and purposes is a “T0” server, not a T1 server, anyway.
If TC was going to be even partially comparable to a T1 server, it would be JQ, and even then that wouldn’t be a win…it would just be a more fair fight than this week has been.
Compounding this week was our obvious 50% attendance yesterday because of this stupid dragon event. These stupid ANet events annoy the hades out of me.
Aurust – Please drop this silly campaign. No one in TC feels the way you somehow got it in your head that we do. Seriously…no one thought we’d stand a chance against SoR. Like…no one.
I don’t know how many other ways I/we can say this to you.
In before they blame it on Dragon event….o wait!
Troll all you want, but sunday and monday nights we queued 3-4 maps and ticked for +350 both times. Last night we barely had half population on all maps. You can discount that as a fact all you want, but the fact remains that this happens on TC every single event-launch day. No one is “blaming” anything. It’s just a statement of fact.
AGAIN: no one thought we could beat SoR. No one said we might. No one even expected us to come close to a tie.
I suggest that you read next time before trolling. I don’t know what your obsession with T2 is, or what your superiority complex stems from, but I suggest you figure that out and maybe consider transferring…
“I look forward to the day when a former tier-2 server goes against one or more tier-1 servers. I imagine the gap isn’t as wide as you like to believe, especially considering the massive coverage gaps all your servers have (as made evident by the fact that there’s at least one time period every day where each T1 server is getting pooped on).
TC has been queuing 3-4 maps for at least some amount of time every night for over a week. As a genuinely curious question, can T1 servers compete with that NA/Late-NA/Oceanic coverage?
As a side note: No one believed that SoS actually belonged in T4."
Your old quote….. Looks like the gap is as wide as i imagined it after all huh?
Let me extract what I was referring to:
As a genuinely curious question, can T1 servers compete with that NA/Late-NA/Oceanic coverage?
And your response was “we have no coverage holes.”
That’s great. You have no coverage holes.
Monday night SoR was ticking at +220.
TC was ticking at +355.
Given that I was not talking about coverage gaps, I’d say my suspicions were rather confirmed, were they not? Even last night, with our severely reduced attendance, we passed SoR in PPT a couple times.
As far as condescendingly patronizing people….I doubt you have the ability to “finish.”
Straw Man argument, we arent discussing coverage gaps, we are discussing …. “I look forward to the day when a former tier-2 server goes against one or more tier-1 servers. I imagine the gap isn’t as wide as you like to believe……..”
And it’s not. We have greater than 50% of your score for the week, we’ve ticked higher than you on several occasions. If you look at the difference between SoR and the other T1 servers, the other servers were sitting roughly between where TC and SoR are right now.
SoS was sitting at the top of T4 at the same margin SoR sits at in T1. They belonged at the top of T3, clearly, hence the reason I said SoR would belong in T0, if something like that were to exist.
This is not the “utter obliteration” that you forecasted.
Honestly, we all know Aurust is a troll. So if you are going to respond to him at all, limit yourself to two lines at the most. He doesn’t really deserve more than that.
I know, I know… I should have just kept my mouth shut.
SoS on EB. Right now would be a good time for you to push SoR and not our Keep
I would love to know how we managed to snag aldons…. :-O
2 words
Odinzu / Nightlight
That pretty much explains everything.
SoS on EB. Right now would be a good time for you to push SoR and not our Keep
I would love to know how we managed to snag aldons…. :-O
So..
Why do you feed this troll…not everyone on SoR wants to start flaming against an opponent we already know doesnt have near the numbers we do.
Not everyone wants to/ or is trying to be a troll and a lot of the advice on these forums we have been giving has been actually genuine.
Every server has a forum troll, its best to ignore them and not multiple them to the 100th power and call them the server.
Please don’t let a few twits tarnish the view on a whole server…and this goes for any server just not SoR.
Some people like the stir up the pot, the Internet has created a whole new breed of parent basement dwelling wanna be tough guys.
Just ignore them.
Point taken. Just a knee jerk reaction to his trolling every week in the T2 thread.
Trust me when I say that I don’t believe “SoR” looks like “Aurust” at all.
Geez, the ego on these SoR guys! Now I see where the reputation comes from.
It’s just Aurust. The vast majority of SoR I’ve come across were cordial and encouraging.

I would like to thank the 3 tacos I had for lunch for not giving me the sh- err nm. Good fights everyone, lets keep the thread classy.
I would definitely like to thank the one cup of coffee i drank this morning for helping me not fall asleep on the drive to work.
Mainly because I keep staying up too late playing GW2.
GvG was one of the main draws for me in GW1, that and the Hall of Heros.
I think it’s interesting this game is called Guild Wars when you cannot even have guild battles. Sure guilds can fight in WvW but it’s not structured, there isn’t a goal or rank and pugs can ruin the fun.
Give us Guild Wars! Bring back guild ranks and Guild Halls. Also capes!
“Guild Wars” refers to the wars between the Human nations before the Charr invaded. It has nothing to do with wars between player guilds.
And yet GW1 had GvG…..
As powerful as SoR’s eles may be, it’s the necros of TSYM I’ve had experience with. Getting slapped with 10 wells at once is not a pleasant sight.
Oh, I know… I’ve never seen anywhere near as many wells as I’ve seen fighting SoR. It was one of the first things I noticed on reset night.
Also, can we please quit the back and forth trolling? Just ignore the crap and get back to the real discussion.
The only glass we usually run is eles and their survival comes from positioning.
This is actually pretty interesting. I have noticed in my combat log that the majority of my damage in zerg fights comes from eles. I’ve had the thought several times “There’s no way an ele could be built in a way that they could hit me that hard and simultaneously be as solid (build-wise) as the guys we just fought on the field.”
*sigh*
How I long for those days again... Learning a lot against SoR, to be sure, but I love matches that are close enough that you really don’t know who is going to win at the beginning of the week.
(edited by Hickeroar.9734)
Maybe it’s because you guys run so many glass cannons?
This is funny because it is extremely non typical for SoR, but maybe to put this in context, if you’re talking about tonight. I think a lot of us were running lowbies.
I have seen a few zergs with a higher number of glass people (XPK seems to be a little squishier, while dealing more overall damage), but overall, SoR has the most consistently solid builds we’ve come up against…other than maybe Agg….and that’s not server-wide at DB. xD
We all know SOR has more numbers than the other 2 servers in WvW.
SOR you guys are great at organizing large amounts of players focusing on one goal,
but sometime when the numbers are semi even come out and play.
you dont always have to wait til you completely outnumber your foe before engaging do you?So many times we have 10 guys and you have 15+.yet you wont come out and play.only when you have 30+ vs 10 do you finally come out.
Maybe its because you guys run so many glass cannons?
How you dont get bored always fighting lopsided battles is beyond me.
I’ve actually noticed a little bit of this as well, and I think it’s really a result of T1 culture. In T1 servers, I assume, it costs a lot more if you do wipe. Like…you wipe and they take something every time as a result. Their play is a lot more careful than the scrappy stuff we have become used to seeing in T2.
It could all be my imagination on all counts though.
SoS pushed SoR’s castle when it looked like SoR was going to take our keep ~10 hours ago.
/hi5 SoS
And then tc went and attacked us instead.
And now sor took valey, and the homeless tc zerg attacked sos instead that was struggleing to recover from a commander who gave our keep for free to SoR.
That says a lot about TC.
On the contrary it says absolutely nothing about TC as a whole.
And speaking from experiences this week in EBG, they were probably just trying to get SoS off our backs as well. Every time SoR has pushed TC territory, SoS has pushed from the other side.
I think SOS packed it in for the week. All I see are SoR and TC comments.
SOS … —- …
SOR has been ignoring you so far this week!!! GET IN GAME!!!
SoS’s PPT is higher than ours is right now. Maybe we’re the ones that need to get in game. xD
I also don’t think they’ve packed it in, although I wasn’t in WvW last night. SoS never quit last week, and I doubt they’ll do it this week either. Great fights.
SoS has ticked above us in the morning for almost all of this week and last. Their morning coverage (SEA?) is pretty darn solid. Honestly they remind me a bit of DB in that regard. If they can get a few NA guilds in there, they’re gonna be pretty solid overall.
lamefox, I agree that your NA prime can be more or less sporatic. Tonight was a good example of that
Last night was a good example of every time we have a big PvE release of content. Our WvW population takes a significant dive for a few days.
Our mixed WvW/PvE population is one of the reasons that TC has a great community, but also one of our weaknesses in WvW.
Haha! You must have been absent when tc has been rolling around with a 70 person group in EB the past two days….
Yeah, EBG tends to be our most populated map, and on weeknights during NA prime, when there isn’t a big nasty PvE event going on, we generally queue 3/4 maps, at least for a little while. I’ve seen us queue all four in the past when people are extra frisky, but that doesn’t usually last long. Now that RE is here, I wouldn’t be surprised if we queue all 4 during at least part of NA Prime pretty often.
I think if SoR would have matched/exceeded our population on sunday and monday nights, we would have probably had a bit of a stalemate on points instead of us pulling ahead as far as we did during those timeslots. I think we might have had more people on those two nights than you did. You guys rolled out a lot more tonight, and that mixed with the dragon crap…we just couldn’t do as well tonight.
Good fights earlier in SoRBL though. We lost our commander in the middle of one fight due to net issues, and ended up having another guy from another guild pop his tag and finish the fight. Really fun, though, and we actually pulled out a victory.
I had to run off during the initial siege against Bay (the golems at the wurm gate while XPK created the small diversion at NE gate), but it looks like they held on to it.

So we face a force easily 3x the size of our 20 person zerg on TCBL, they drive us back to garrison from bay, and then they simultaneously /laugh at us. My chat log is having convulsions right about now.
Keep it classy, SoR. Keep it classy.
That was just to get your guys to charge out it wasn’t anything personal.
Into 3x our number? Not likely. xD

The amount of RNG is just too high right now.
Pretty much this. The weight of the random roll should be cut in half from what it currently is.
They just introduced new PvE Content and Minis…. almost all the Maps around LA just went into Overflow on TC
Yeah, I feel that our WvW population will be somewhat….lacking…the next couple days.
ANet! Grr.
If it makes you feel better, I think SoS isn’t going to take advantage…or will we?
Seriously though, I see that IRON isn’t interested in dragon coffers, or are just really motivated to cap everything so they can get to them. +510PPT on a day new content was released? I admit, Canach was a snore; but even I took a day out to check it out.
Majprity of our players dont do pve. Also we are starting to get worried about our rating as BG are about to go above us (Ahh what are Anet thinking), which means we may well get another one sided match up next week.
Pls note I am not talking about skill, but about coverage.
Eh, not that it matters all that much. A particularly bad random roll could send them to T3 even if they are rated above you…

SoR has a sizable population that never sets foot in pve.
Yeah, this is pretty much what I expected.
