EVERYONE!!! stop thinking the way u thinking and think the same as me!

Think any way you want. Just be respectful. That is the only thing I have been saying since I started this thread. I am asking people to be kind to each other no matter their opinion of the game. You can dislike what is happening with PvP right now and not be mean to people.

I never said, “be positive”. I said we need to be cooler to each other and the devs. By still posting in these forums it at least means you are still playing or wish they would change some things so that you could come back because you played at one point or another. Letting our words to each other and devs devolve into vitriolic rage and sarcasm and terrible feelings does nothing to make the game better or the community.

I encourage you to go back and actually read what I have been saying all morning in this thread. It boils down to us taking charge of the only thing we have control over on these forums: being kind to each other .

I don’t agree with the cadence of releases as it pertains to skill updates. It has been really slow. That Does Not give me the right to use inflammatory language aimed at devs or other users. It doesn’t give any of us that right.

You need a thicker skin plain and simple. The “toxic” community that the devs created by completely ingoring the “polite and helpful” community for an entire year isn’t going anywhere soon. Anet deserves the bitter, jaded community that it created and nobody’s going to just pretend the past year and a half didn’t happen just to tip toe around how sensitive you are.

I say, “Hey guys, let’s be cool to each other!” and someone argues with me. How do you argue with someone that says, “Be cool”? On the topic of the thickness of my skin? I play Street Fighter. This community has nothing on that one in terms of being cruel or downright nasty so while I appreciate your concern for my tender feels, I can assure you I will find a way to persevere through this storm, friend. Heck, I have beaten people in matches in that game mercilessly and had people PM me “L2P, scrub!”.

I did read what you said, in depth, in your OP;

_’It’s past time to start focusing on the things we like about this game and keep our opinions to ourselves’

’We can’t offer criticism to the devs without looking in the mirror and asking, “Am I really actually trying to make this a place that other gamers want to come and try this game out or am I a part of the problem?”_

That’s telling people to stay positive and stop whining, if what you meant was ’it’s time to stay critical and stay upset just don’t swear’ then that isn’t what you said and is not the tone of your OP.

Not really. It’s saying, let’s not make it personal and say lame stuff to each other. I am all for us being critical of the things we would like to see change. I can’t control the speed of the dev cycle here. I can control whether or not I use foul language or call people names or say generally lame things to people. That has zero to do with being positive.

I will give an example: Johnny is mad that they haven’t updated the skills in months. So he decides to post, “ANET FIX YOUR K I T T E N GAME NAO!!!” “YOU GUYS SHOULD BE KITTY KAT FIRED!”

Right above that post is a post from Jane. She says, " ArenaNet: I love the game you have made but your skill updates don’t happen with enough frequency. I would love to see that changer because I find myself wanting to play other games because I am getting bored with waiting. Thanks though for the cool game you’ve made, but it’s time for me to move on! Peace!"

There is a difference. Jane knows she has zero control over how the devs implement balance patches. johnny does too, but he just wants to be a jerk.

All I am saying is: Don’t be Johnny

Going through all of these threads is showing me a few things. We as a community (sPvP) are getting pretty toxic. We need to tone it down. It’s past time to start focusing on the things we like about this game and keep our opinions to ourselves when they start getting personal toward each other and the devs. When the patch does hit we need to do our best to be constructive in our criticism.

I feel like you can’t grow a good community in this environment and this game definitely deserves a good environment for its players. I hope you guys join me in trying harder to be less toxic towards the devs and other players.

The game building part is on the devs, but the community being a good one is on us and we are doing a terrible job of being a good community . We can’t offer criticism to the devs without looking in the mirror and asking, “Am I really actually trying to make this a place that other gamers want to come and try this game out or am I a part of the problem?”

TL;DR Right now I feel like ArenaNet is doing a better job at making a quality game than we the players are of making a quality community

Do you work for Anet? If so, understood, break that $$$

If not, then who the kitten do u think u r? U r not my parent, get off ur high horse and get on the bandwagon or gtfo

I don’t. But this response to me is a perfect example of what we should be avoiding as a community. Is it really that hard for us to be civil? If it is, then that is too bad. Do you really mean that? I want a better community and you tell me to leave? is this the type of thing we want here? Let’s take these forums back and make this place better and try and help build a better community here!

When your feedbacks keep getting ignored and your favorite (and often, only) gamemode is neglected the way sPvP/tPvP is, I challenge you to not being bitter and toxic.

I am only Rank 44 so I have not played as much as many of you have. I consider myself of “Decent Quality” as a PvP player, but I play mostly solo queue. I have been in the top 1000 of solo queue (not that that means a thing at all with the way the rankings are. I am just trying to give you an idea of where I am in terms of skill and I have played enough matches to know a thing or two about the format) a few times but usually hover in the mid 80-90th percentiles. I have a Champion Hunter and a Champion Genius and I am working on Mesmer, Guardian and Warrior. I play those classes frequently in sPvP.

You are welcome to go through my post history. I have been overly critical at times on these forums for the same exact frustrating reasons that you probably are. I am asking all of us to dial back the anger and caustic words.

I read these forums daily and post almost daily and the tone of posts lately has devolved into what seems to me as bordering on hate speech and it needs to change.

The only thing we have control over is how we treat each other. Treating each other and the devs poorly, doesn’t make the game better and it sure as heck isn’t making this community a shining beacon in the sea of MMO PvP Forums. I care enough about this game that I would like to see that change.

There is too much White Knighting that even the OP hasn’t constructed a point.

Toxic would be bad if the devs were in here daily discussing concerns/actively making changes on a regular basis and people were spewing hate at their face despite best efforts to make things right, that isn’t good and it isn’t right.

We get very little dev response outside of locking threads and telling us that they can’t tell us anything, balance changes are few and far between despite completely nuking pvp by introducing signet/stance warriors [amongst other cheesemode specs] into the game – really, what else do you expect? That people are just going to keep smiling and saying nice things?

I can tell you, take a look at the Gazillion forums for Marvel Heroes, a small-medium F2p game with micro-transactions and look at how the devs treat that game, that is how it is done. Balance patches are meaningful and frequent, as is content, and the devs post actual discussion points/answers multiple times daily on their forums. Then take a look at the nature of the threads there compared to here. That community is positive and happy – why? Because they’re being treated with good custom.

Are we?

I find it quite offensive tbh that you believe the community is ‘doing a bad job’ it isn’t our job, this is our leisure, if you spent your $50+ elsewhere at a hotel and the people running the hotel ruined your experience and then did it repeatedly despite you giving them more than ample time and money to make amends, would your advice still be keep positive?

I never said, “be positive”. thanks to this thread i went to the youtubes and listen to the song toxic of britney

If we are unable to control what we type on the forums how will we ever be able to handle getting control options for our pets on our Rangers? Maybe because of how we act here, the devs think that we are only able to handle being able to play Longbow Warriors and Heartseeker/Pistol Whip Thieves.

If we want more skillful play in game, maybe we should skillfully choose our words more wisely here?

I can still remember ppl kindly discussing of forum for improvements and stuff at start, we asked for rank emotes like gw1 for example and we got them (And everyone was happy)…everything was fine, than all the nonsense “balance” patches started, they removed gems from rewards (Still waiting for a decent reason about that), they made qps farmable and then removed them too after ppl just kept farming like crazy kittens, then broken bunker eles, bunker ranger’s bird hitting for 8k crits, dumbfire, skyhammer, war’s buff..and on and on and on, community already lost all hopes….if ppl who actually should care about making this game better don’t care at all and don’t have a clue on what to do not even caring about feedbacks (Not even answering “hard” questions..like mine about warriors into last incoming patch feedback thread) why should i keep caring about it? I’m just randomly pugging in tpvp, i stopped giving kittens long ago, still have 500k glory, they’re gonna remove it? Fine, not even spending it…I..don’t…care…i don’t care about new bags, don’t give a kitten about skins after glory patch or whatever, i’m just keep playing cause it’s called guild wars, a game i used to love…nothing more nothing less..

I don’t think he’s saying you should or shouldn’t care, what he’s saying is that people in game and on these forums should be less caustic to each other and the devs.

^ What he said. If you read my posts you will see I am not saying how the devs handled it was the best. I am saying we don’t need to respond with vitriol. Being cool on these forums doesn’t require us to agree with the design choices by the devs.

Youre right Iason, but it’s not a controllable action, it’s the reflection of the rot diffusing on Internet and mankind.

The main fault is Internet is too much free, people feel too much safe insulting other people from their house or from their cellphone.

It’s a cycling spiral of rage causing more rage. And the force after all of this is the arrogance, ignorance and stupidity written in the human DNA.
The blind instinct will always have the upper hand.

That’s why I am trying to remind people that they are in control of how they treat people. We all need to act better toward each other here.

sorry but we did a nice job as a community when the december patch preview was on the forums and the whole year before but you have to understand that after a long time of no changes to the current annoying meta people get mad…

It’s fine to be upset. Read my original post though. I am talking about people being rude. That is not acceptable . That is why I am saying that as a community we are failing. That doesn’t help grow the game from a community standpoint and that is the only thing we have control over.

If you look at my other posts in this thread I even say, “I am guilty of it as well”. We need to do better. How can we expect ArenaNet to do a better job and then we act like a bunch of entitled children?

Let’s fix the one thing we have control over: us .

This is what happens when the most honorable and dedicated people leave. The ones who remains start to think that to better ourselves is useless, because the ones who did it didn’t find a reason to keep playing. So they become more and more bitter.

That isn’t the reason. We can be concerned about the game and still be cool to each other. I can think the devs should do a better job of getting us content in a more expedient fashion and still be polite to them as well. What we type on these forums is up to us. I think it’s time we start being better all around at being cooler to each other.

It has always been that way and it will always be that way. The nature of the PvP forum has determine that even if things were a lot better, people will still whine way different from constructive criticism.

The worst thing about gw2 is that since there is no way to restrict forum access, people that have an axe to grind or quit the game years ago can come back for a few internet points.

I can only make the suggestion. It even says it in my original post. You only have control over yourself. You can decide whether or not you want to join me in trying to make this community better. If you don’t, that’s up to you.

You must be new around here, because the community was very supportive at start, but then more and more people understood that the game developers do not work on pvp at all – it was almost 2 years and we got:

3 maps
A “Leaderboard” “system”

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that is it – nothing more was added (removing paid tournaments and splitting them in 2 does not count, it is just reusing something old).

I am not new around here. You can look at my post history. It’s just high time we start pointing our fingers at ourselves. We can’t control the dev cycle of this game. We can control how we treat each other and the devs and we are doing a shoddy job of it overall. If you don’t do that, then I am not speaking about you. I know I have been guilty of it in the past and I am not going to do it anymore.

Clearly. First priorities should be Rewards rework, then Dredge rework.

By the way, Chris, could we have an update on the situation about the fractal level reset and the lack of compensation for it ?

2 months ago, you said you would spend some time thinking about how we feel and get back to us, but unless I missed it, there has been no more mention of that since then.

I would say so. I think the rolling thing got brought up pretty far in, in terms of number of pages in the discussion. I also think if the rolling thing were implemented and the Dredge Fractal not fixed…I know that my guild for one would be shouting not so nice things at our monitors.

The rejoicing that would happen if the Dredge Fractal were shortened to better match the amount of time it takes to do the other T3 Fractals would be immeasurable. I think you would see a spike in play akin to what you saw in pvp when you added double rank.

Would anyone like to voice an opinion on the yes side?

I would be cool with a leaderboard if it was in game . The thing I don’t like about the leaderboards is you have to look out side the game to see them. It doesn’t make much sense for PvE though and doesn’t really go with the theme of what the Fractals are about either. Actually, I don’t want leaderboards for Fractals, but I want PvP leaderboards to be represented by an NPC or signage in The Mists.

- Dredge fractal trouble

Remove Dredge fractal until being made to last 20 minutes. Test it through dedicated testers.

- Rolling.
Tier 1 = current Tier 1
Tier 2 = current Tier 2 + remaining Tier 1
Tier 3 = current Tier 3 (except dredge) + remaining Tier 2 + remaining Tier 1

- Rewards.
- Gold reward = fractal level x 10 silver.
- Salvage or sell ascended rings for 50 silver
- Guaranteed token for skins for fractal 40+
- Random Skin chest to be able to choose skin (increase to 10% chance to get one at 40+)
- Random ascended stuff (weapon or armor) without fixed stats to be able to chose.

That, and I will do fractals again.

This is a pretty clean band aid until more long term solutions can be implemented. Better than nothing and an easy fix for now. /approved as triage until long term solution is in place. Would anyone be against this as a short term solution?

Collaborative Development: Ranger Profession

Iason Evan.3806

I know that im out of topic here and not using the format proposal and i apologize for it ,but before posting any ideas about the ranger and having into consideration that this will be read by some dev ,i will like to ask something :

Would you ever (or have you) considered the removal of the pet ,knowing how borked the ai is ,and as anet says ,it can not be reworked because its tied to mob ai?

Or would you consider split the class in to two, ranger/beastmaster ,and rework the pet ai from the ground.

Again sorry for the offtopic and thx for any possible answer.

Removing the pet was something that was discussed in initial design of the class, but it is such an integral part of the Ranger’s design and philosophy.

There might be some ways that we can redesign the pet and it’s AI, but those are big projects. For the time being, we are happy to take any suggestions regarding the pet.

I played Ranger at the “Meet and Greet” hosted by ArenaNet at ComiCon in 2011 at the Hard Rock Hotel and got to talk to Colin about the direction of Ranger Pet AI because I mained a Ranger for many years in PvP in GW1. I was concerned about it then and he said you guys were working on a solution for the AI. The fact that you guys still consider the pet to be “integral” is concerning. It doesn’t work. I abandoned my Ranger as my main in this game because of it. You can not spec Beast Mastery for the most part because if your pets die or you have cool down you are useless in a fight.

We need specs where we don’t have to bring a pet. We need a spec where if we bring a pet, when we dodge, so does the pet. It won’t be OP because if I dodge when I am not in harm’s way, but my pet is, I am still using energy to do so.

I am doing my best here to be as calm as possible and I haven’t posted in this CDI because the class is so dear to me.

The integral part of the pet needs to be dropped. If that isn’t done, then the mentality that you will alienate people by giving us a ton of control options over the pet needs to change. Rangers need more control or the Ranger needs the ability to spec without a pet.

Collaborative Development: Ladders & Seasons

Proposal Overview
Skill Splits Before Ladders Are Implemented

Goal of Proposal
PvP could be adversely affected mid-season if balance changes happened during a season.

Proposal Functionality
A skill split would enable PvP to be balanced entirely for its own sake. PvE would benefit as well as skills that may be “OP” for PvP, but fun for PvE wouldn’t get nerfed because of PvP. Also, it would open up builds for all weapon types as opposed to what happens now where certain weapons are kosher in PvP, but not in PvE and vice-versa. A “Summon Turrets” skill for PvE could happen if a skill split happened.

Associated Risks
The community having so many build options could lead to having more fun and being more creative with how they play. Having a bunch of different weapon options for each class could mean playing more classes more frequently which would also be fun. Devs would have a harder time of balancing.

I love that you guys want sPvP players to have a more connected experience to the rest of the game. I think only good thinks will come from it except where the ladder is concerned. Eventually, PvE will be affected by something that happens in tourneys and I don’t think that is fair to either side. In my opinion, it is long overdue to have skills split between formats.

While I agree that cash shop items shouldn’t be removed without compensation, I have a counter to that argument. I have gone through hundreds of glory boosters from win chests. I don’t want to be compensated for those. I also don’t want to get any glory boosters right now though when I buy Black Lion Keys. It’s infuriating to get them when they are so abundant in PvP win chests. All the people saying they need to get compensated for the glory boosters they got out of BLTC Chests is one thing. I get that, but if you play PvP at all, you have TONS of them for free and weren’t buying BLTC chests for the glory boosters.

After reading a lot of the great posts in here, I would have to agree with having shorter seasons. I think it would be more effective as a motivator to play and at the end and start of every new season it would be really exciting.

Longer seasons to me would have more lulls of excitement in them. I also think longer seasons would discourage skill updates. I wouldn’t want a skill update midseason.

I think balances should happen after every season as well to change up the meta. I really think seasons should be 1 to 2 months in length at the most.

I definitely think that skins you can earn only in PvP but can use anywhere will be a huge factor to pull people into PvP. There needs to be rewards in place to keep those people already playing to continue playing, and I think those people want things that work for PvP. It’s two separate discussions frankly, and I think some of the people railing against cosmetic rewards aren’t seeing that maybe that stuff isn’t aimed toward retention, but aimed at growing sPvP.

There are a lot of people in PvE that would come over to PvP for skins they can only earn in PvP but could use in PvE. That’s how to grow the game. I like the Legendary stuff too. There has to be a way to earn Legendaries in PvP to better integrate the game with the other parts of the game.

As a PvP’er I want capes. I think the Charr capes should look differently than the capes for the other races so there aren’t clipping issues. Gold, Silver, and Bronze trim would be a huge deal. My guild emblem on my cape would be a huge deal.

When they let us take our skins out of the Mists, Id be all for exclusive PVP armor skins as a PART of the reward system. You are right when you say it would help retain the current pvp population and attract new players. I would argue, however, that the higher level players (as in the ones actually playing in the league) would need more than just 1-2 exclusive skins to show off in order to keep them interested. Gems or cash for the higher level players would make sense, in addition to exclusive finishers.

I completely agree. It would be nice to have a clear line of separation between rewards to attract new players and rewards for existing pvp players so the groups lobbying for one cause over the other don’t miss the forest for the single tree they are cultivating.

I don’t just want one or two sets of armor and a few weapons. I want a whole host of stuff that exclusively drops in PvP. As the least played format in the game, it needs more love on that end to attract new players. It should take time to get it like certain positions on ladders etc. That way, “Johnny Pro PvE” doesn’t come ina nd just get what he wants in a week and then goes back to PvE to show off all his exclusive PvP gear in PvE. Some things should only be obtainable by a select few and it should be account bound stuff.

If we actually want rewards that we care about, those rewards whatever they may be shouldn’t be items that can be turned into profit. If you want that type of reward go play PvE. We should still be able to make money on matches but the actual rewards like weapons and armor should be account bound so they can’t be sold to players for exorbitant sums and also so PvE players can’t just buy the skins without playing PvP.

How about Story Mode fractals, where you could pick a fractal you want to experience. Then upon arriving to said fractal we could experience the story behind thus level hence learning more about the history and idea behind the design of each and every fractal. To make it actually rewarding we could have a achievement system in place for each level, so everyone would play it at least once. And maybe a reward at the end (30s should be sufficient as it would be much shorter than a regular dungeon story mode) and some experience. It would also help new players get a hang of fractals a bit more understanding the layout and mechanics behind every level.

We could do something like this, but when ends up happening is the work involved ends up being a lot of additional work to basically build something people play one or two times and then are done with it. In that time, we could have probably half built another real fractal, which I think probably would be better for the game over-all. Maybe the real question would be -> How do we try and get across better lore and stories with the current fractal system?

To be honest the system is already in place. There’s no need to redesign the levels or fights/mechanics. We would have an ability to play any level of fractals. In doing so instead of working in cutscenes, dialogs, npcs, have a background voiceover “reading” the story. Make it feel almost like we’re watching a movie with a narrator telling us where we are what is happening, etc.

Example:
“And so the heroes went down to Mossman’s residence where he was stationed for "" time" because of “x reason”."

“Upon defeating him, our heroes has finally freed the lonely man that spent “x time” in sole confinement"

-camera moves back-

-video darkens-

-scene-

It would be something that would be omitted in regular fractals which would not include any cutscenes or dialogs. This way the only two areas you would need to spend time in is your writing department to come out with lore that would be read by narrator which would work in audio department. Implementation wouldn’t require any level or mechanics redesigns. But at the same time it would not only let players play out the levels while learning the mechanics, but it would also bring heavy amounts of lore into the lore-hungry fanatics like myself

That sounds like it would play out like the Bonus Mission Pack stories in GW1 which were the best told tales in my opinion in that game. Those were totally replayable and you never felt like the story was getting in the way of the game play. I think doing some Fractals that handled story the way the Bonus Mission Pack did would be amazing.

How about a Fractal set in the future set in Straits of Devastation after the area is cleaned up? It could be about the building of a Temple of Kormir. This way, you could have the Temple being built during a two week LS update, and we would get to see the Temple of Kormir fully built in a beautiful version of a renewed Straits of Devastation in the future via the Fractal. It kills two birds with one stone. We get the lore in the LS update and we get to see Straits cleaned up in the Fractal.

Tie the release of new Fractals in with the LS Update they are contained in. Tell the story in the world. I had a post about a Fractal being set in the future dealing with the fallout of something happening now. The story can take place during a two week update and the Fractal deals with the consequences of what happened many years from now with the offspring of the characters from now involved.

Collaborative Development: Ladders & Seasons

in CDI

Posted by: Iason Evan.3806

Iason Evan.3806

What type of structure would you find interesting for leagues and ladders?

Something similar to the way Starcraft runs it’s system. Players get placed into divisions (Bronze/Rabbit, Silver/Dolyak, Gold/Wolf, Masters/Phoenix, etc) based on their skill level with placement matches at the start of the season and then they battle it out for top spots in their divisions and to move up throughout the course of the season.

How long should a season last?

2-3 months seems like a good number.

What would motivate you to play in one?

Ability to attain skins and/or other always visible vanity items (not finishers) only attainable through this system

What types of rewards would you like to see?

see above

How would a player earn these rewards?

Different rewards for placing in different divisions at the end of the season. Extra rewards for players in the top X% at the end of the season.

How would you encourage players of all skill levels to participate?

Guarantee end of season rewards for players that participated enough in this system (meta achievement?)

Edit:

How would you encourage players of all skill levels to participate?

Profession based ranks for accounts. Every profession on an account gets ranked separately. This way, when Johnny is trying out his Guardian for the first time, he is ranked differently than his 90% ranked Thief. When he deletes his Guardian and makes a new one 2 months later, he doesn’t get to start over because it’s per profession on the account.

I like this idea. I feel it would help to encourage new players to try new classes without worrying about their rating falling through the floor.

i second what this guy said, concise but straight to the point.

I should have elaborated that my 2 cents were in terms of solo queue. People like me that play solo queue get stuck in a weird situation. If Johnny is ranked 90% on his Thief, but has never played Guardian, the matchmaking doesn’t care and throws his Guardian in with his 90% ranking. I believe this is what causes issues a lot of times and I can’t say as I blame Johnny for not wanting to play hotjoin. People don’t play in hotjoin to win or an objective based game for the most part so Johnny would rather cut his teeth in solo queue because at least there people are playing as a unit.

I just want to reiterate how important it is for us solo queue people to have a system like this in place. I don’t want my newbie toon to tank my ranking on my good toons. I also don’t want to tank my team mates and I don’t want my team mates tanking my ranking either.

Please consider making the rankings for solo queue profession based. Thanks for this CDI.

I already posted this in the dungeon forum yesterday, as I was unaware of a fractal CDI coming up. I am sorry for the double post, but I feel it is best to have this suggestion here as well for completeness.

Proposal overview
Make agony resistance (AR) account wide.

Goal of Proposal
Fractals become much more repeatable/replayable if we can bring any character. It makes it a different experience. The fractal levels are account wide, but I find myself bringing the same character because she is the only one who is equiped with AR.

Proposal Functionality
Similar to the change that was made for magic find in the past, where it was removed from the gear and made account wide, the same could be done for AR.

Associated Risks
- People who already build up their AR should have this transferred to their account somehow in order to not lose progress.
- Balancing the acquirement of AR.
- Balancing power creep from infusion slots that can now slot other attributes.

Hmm, I like this idea. How about making it similar to how we level Magic Find. We can level up AR with the AR drop from playing fractals, and it gets progressively harder to level up AR the higher it gets. As of right now my main char has about 90 AR so I mainly bring him into fotm, I’d like to play different professions in fotm but since I only play high level fotm and my other toons have low ARs so it’s hard to do.

I agree… I just think it’s really really important they don’t get rid of the AR we have already accumulated. That would open up a can of wurms we wouldn’t be able to decapitate.

I agree with these thoughts. I would be bummed because I spent a lot of time getting enough AR on 5 of my toons to be doing the Fractals at a whim, but it makes too much sense to ignore. Account based AR in some form or other would be fantastic.

In regard to your request I would like to see more discussion/proposal around rewards as well as ideation about how we could evolve the whole Fractal experience from ideas around new types of fractals, new lore and info on your favorite encounters in the current fractals.

On top of this it would also be cool to hear about people’s favorite instabilities and ideas for new ones.

Chris

I would really like to see a Fractal that is set in the future of GW2, but that deals with the fall out of something that happened in the current time. It could have offspring from current NPCs in it. This could open up really cool stuff in terms of advancements in technology (the weapons used by NPCs the players fight) to also having new Fractal instabilities that wouldn’t make sense in the current time line, but would make sense in the future because of said advancements in tech.

I have always said that it would be good to see stuff that didn’t get resolved in GW1 get resolved in Fractals. There are myriad stories that never got finished and it’s disappointing as a player that it didn’t get finished. Shoring up loose ends is great.

It’s just troubling to me that it’s not up yet and we have a CDI on the topic of Fractals. Shouldn’t that and the Dredge Fractal get fixed first? At the very least, it should be in the CDI topic thread that we shouldn’t list Leaderboards or the Dredge Fractal in the CDI because they were already known issues before the CDI came out. It just makes me concerned that everyone is mentioning the Dredge Fractals and no one cares about the Leaderboards.

Topic Title: Dredge Fix should occur separately from this CDI.

Proposed Solution: This Fractal is at the top of everyone’s lists for things to fix. The problem is that it seems a waste of what players want out of the Fractals. We shouldn’t have to waste a suggestion on something that was said to be too long by devs and was said was going to be addressed and then wasn’t.

I want us to be able to focus on getting something out of the CDI besides a fix that should happen regardless. Fixing the Dredge Fractal should already be in the works.

Things I want to see change:

1.) Ability to get Fractal Weapon skins with Pristine Fractal Relics at the vendor the same way we can get dungeon stuff at a dungeon vendor.

2.) Lore based Fractals set from before GW1/during GW1/after GW1/during GW2/beyond GW2.

3.) Ascended weapon and Armor boxes that drop in Fractals should be Fractal skins. Fractal Armor will be added along with a way to purchase it with Pristine Fractal Relics.

The https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/player-vs-player-rewards-roadmap/ was almost 3 months ago. Has work already started on this “long term” stuff? To be frank, asking us about it now when you could have asked us 3 months ago seems like a long time to wait. These CDI’s are starting to feel more and more like an appeasement process on your guy’s end than something that is actually happening. Does it make sense where we would think that a 3 month gap in the announcement of something, and then asking our opinion on what should be in it is kind of a long time to wait?

I hope this isn’t the case, but if it is, it’s super frustrating for those of us that keep playing PvP. I play it because I love it, but this whole time I was thinking that you guys were working on that “long term” stuff you said you were working on. Now it seems you aren’t. What the heck is going on?

Why do people think LA will be rebuilt?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

LA from a technical standpoint is a mess. I think they are tearing it down to build it up in a better way so that it has less lag and can support huge future battles. Part of me hopes they don’t though because it would mean a new hub zone which means new permanent content. I would rather have that than have a rebuilt LA.

Individual Character Ranks Soon?

in PvP

Posted by: Iason Evan.3806

Iason Evan.3806

ArenaNet,

Are you guys planning to split up the ranks for each of our characters soon? The reason I ask is I play a lot of Street Fighter 4. I get a global account rank there, but I also get an individual character rank. That way my Zangief has a totally different rank than my Ryu. My poor play on a character doesn’t affect my main as it were, but I am still able to do ranked matches if I so choose.

Each character gets a letter grade and numbered ranking. I think all the ranks should get numbered ranks here in GW2 as well. I would love to see profession ranks too. If I am in the top 250 for Elementalists, I would like to know. Maybe I could set a goal to be in the top 1000 for Thieves. I think there are a ton of things that could be done to improve the system and also it would be cool to have those individual ranks so I don’t feel like I am tanking my ranking by playing something other than the handful of classes I am proficient in in ranked matches. Hotjoin just doesn’t cut it.

Player retention

This is why if you want to do LS style content you have to have a big, permanent, old school expansion too for the people like the OP. What happens when this game is 5 years old and gets “retired” like GW1 did? At least there we had 3 full games, and an expansion of permanent content. This game has released a TON of content so far, but in a lot of it, there isn’t permanence. When the game is put on life support it won’t be as robust as GW1 was.

She will then join Rox and Co. and lead the new revamped Edge of Destiny 2.0.

Just like Trahearne trolling our characters during the PS, Scarlet will troll the player base for the LS! OP Sylvari NPCs FTW! :P
